예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2021년 11월 4일

이번 주 토라 포션은 창세기 25:19~28:9입니다. 이 포션의 이름은 톨돝입니다. 이 히브리 단어는 아주 중요한데 다른 언어에서는 다르게 번역됩니다: 톨돝은 역사, 족보/계보, 출생(낳음) 등등의 뜻입니다.
이것들은 단지 이 단어의 몇 가지 의미와 쓰임에 불과합니다. 선지서에서 읽는 부분(하프타라)는 말라기 1:1~2:7이며, 신약성경에서 읽는 부분은 로마서 9:1-31입니다. 우리가 신약성경에서 한 장을 전부 읽는 것은 흔하지 않지만, 이 장은 아주 중요한 장이며 이번 주 토라 포션과 연관되어 있습니다. 토라에서 읽는 부분은 이 말로 시작됩니다: “아브라함의 아들 이삭의 족보는 이러하니라 아브라함이 이삭을 낳았고 이삭은 사십 세에 리브가를 맞이하여 아내를 삼았으니 리브가는 밧단 아람의 아람 족속 중 브두엘의 딸이요 아람 족속 중 라반의 누이였더라 이삭이 그의 아내가 임신하지 못하므로 그를 위하여 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 그의 간구를 들으셨으므로 그의 아내 리브가가 임신하였더니” – 창세기 25:19-21 이것은 아주 이상한 족보입니다! 성경에는 심지어 신약성경에도 이상한 족보가 몇 개 있습니다. 그러나 이것이 이상한 이유는 너무도 짧기 때문입니다. 우리는 창세기의 앞 장들에서 아브라함에게 아버지가 있다는 것을 알고 그 아버지의 이름도 알고 아브라함의 할아버지와 증조부의 이름도 압니다. 사실, 창세기 11장에는 11대를 거슬러 올라간 노아의 아들 셈의 시대부터의 아브라함의 족보가 있습니다. 이번 장은 왜 이삭의 족보로 시작되어 단 두 세대만 제시하는 것일까요? 이것은 흥미로운 질문입니다. 이 질문에 대답이 될 만한 대답이 몇 개 있습니다: 1. 아브라함의 계보는 여러 세대동안 이교도 우상숭배자들이었습니다. 이삭과 리브가를 다루는 여기의 이 본문은 과거가 아닌 “지금”에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. “족보/계보”로 번역된 톨돝은 “출생(낳음)”과 같은 어근입니다. 우리가 이삭의 어머니와 아버지의 죽음 이후 이삭의 이야기에서 첫 번째로 듣는 것은 그의 아내 리브가가 아이를 갖지 못하여 이삭이 하나님께 그의 아내를 위해 간구하는 이야기입니다. 그러니까 아브라함의 혈통 전체와 하나님께서 아브라함에게 하신 약속들이 지금 위험에 처한 것입니다. “톨돝” - “족보/계보”라는 단어는 우리에게 “출생(낳음)”을 연상시키고 히브리어로는 그 단어와 연관되어 있습니다. 히브리어는 다층적 언어이며 사실 매우 제한적인 언어여서 가능한 의미가 많습니다. 이것이 히브리 성경 원문을 이해하기 더 어렵게 만들고 더 흥미롭게 만드는 것입니다. 2. 여기서 아브라함의 족보 전체가 나오지 않은 두 번째 이유는 창세기 11장에 이미 나오기 때문일 수 있습니다. 3. 여기서 이삭의 족보가 더 자세히 나오지 않은 세 번째 이유는 하나님께서 아브라함에게 하신 약속들이 지금 모두 경각에 달려 있다는 사실을 강조하기 위해서입니다. 이 경각은 하나님의 인류 구속 계획이 모두 위기에 빠진 것입니다. 인류의 첫 라운드는 완전 실패였고 노아의 홍수로 끝났는데요, 이 때 주님께서 리셋 버튼을 눌러 오직 여덟 명만 구원받았지만, 이것은 죄의 성향도 반역적이고 성실하지 않은 인간 마음도 없애지 못했습니다. 지금 성령님께서는 이삭을 가지고 우리 온 인류에게 하나님께서 또다시 리셋 버튼을 누르려하신다는 것을 말씀하시려는 것입니다. 이 새 가족, 이삭의 가족이 계속되어 살아남아 지구의 모든 민족(온 인류)에게 축복이 되고 구원이 될, 아브라함에게 약속된 씨를 생산하는 것이 당연하지도 않고, 자연의 힘으로도 되지 않습니다. 제 생각에는 그래서 이번 토라 포션이 “톨돝” - 족보/계보라는 단어로 시작하는 것 같습니다. 창세기에 이상하게 “톨돝” - 족보/계보라는 단어를 사용하는 경우가 한 번 더 있는데요, 신약성경 마태복음 1:1에서도 인용됩니다. 우리가 “신약”이라고 부르는 책의 서문 첫 구절인 이 인용구의 출처는 창세기 5:1입니다: “이것은 아담의 계보를 적은 책이니라 하나님이 사람을 창조하실 때에 하나님의 모양대로 지으시되” – 창세기 5:1 그런데 아담은 계보가 없었습니다. 아담은 아버지도 어머니도 없었습니다. 아담은 전능하신 하나님의 손으로 흙으로부터 지음 받았고 생명의 아버지께서 친히 생령을 그의 코에 불어넣어 주셨습니다. 여러분은 성령님께서 왜 마태의 펜을 통해 “이것은 아담의 계보를 적은 책이니라”는 이 말(의 인용)로 복음서를 시작했다고 생각하십니까? 이유는 아주 간단하고 중요합니다. 마태는 미리암이라는 이름의 젊은 여성이 남자와 상호작용한 일 없이 임신하여 남아를 낳았다는 기상천외한 이야기를 우리에게 해주려 합니다. 이 이야기는 너무 기상천외하고 이상하고 이해하기 어려워서 마태는 전능하신 하나님, 천지의 창조주께서 남자가 끼어들지 않고도 점토상에 호흡을 불어넣어 그것을 살아 움직이게 하실 수 있으시다는 것을 우리에게 상기시키고 싶었던 것입니다. 여기에 “톨돝”이라는 단어의 기상천외한 사용이 있는 것입니다. 이제 창세기 25장으로 가서, 하나님께서 리브가의 태를 열어 그녀가 쌍둥이 에서와 야곱을 낳습니다! 이것은 자연적 출생이 아닙니다. 이것은 이삭의 출생과 예슈아의 출생처럼 기적적인 출생입니다. 이 쌍둥이의 탄생은 예언적 메시지와 함께 왔습니다. 수천 년이 지난 지금까지도 이루어지고 있고, 그 끝은 알려져 있으되, 아직 보이지는 않는 메시지입니다. “여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 두 국민이 네 태중에 있구나 두 민족이 네 복중에서부터 나누이리라 이 족속이 저 족속보다 강하겠고 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨더라.” – 창세기 25:23 이 예언은 예언으로 넘어갑니다. 이것은 아직도 역사의 무대에서 2천 년의 디아스포라 이후 귀향하고 있는 유대인들의 살과 피를 통해 벌어지고 있습니다. 이스라엘 땅으로의 이 귀환은 그저 19세기 말 몇몇 시오니스트들의 일만은 아닙니다. 이것은 토라에서부터 신약성경까지 십여 예언적 약속들이 이루어지는 것이기도 합니다. 제가 특별히 좋아하는 약속은 짧은 약속으로, 저희 네티비야에서 그것이 이루어지도록 기도하며 일하고 있는 약속입니다. “오직 시온 산에서 피할 자가 있으리니 그 산이 거룩할 것이요 야곱 족속은 자기 기업을 누릴 것이며 야곱 족속은 불이 될 것이며 요셉 족속은 불꽃이 될 것이요 에서 족속은 지푸라기가 될 것이라 그들이 그들 위에 붙어서 그들을 불사를 것인즉 에서 족속에 남은 자가 없으리니 여호와께서 말씀하셨음이라 그들이 네겝과 에서의 산과 평지와 블레셋을 얻을 것이요 또 그들이 에브라임의 들과 사마리아의 들을 얻을 것이며 베냐민은 길르앗을 얻을 것이며 사로잡혔던 이스라엘의 많은 자손은 가나안 사람에게 속한 이 땅을 사르밧까지 얻을 것이며 예루살렘에서 사로잡혔던 자들 곧 스바랏에 있는 자들은 네겝의 성읍들을 얻을 것이니라 구원 받은 자들이 시온 산에 올라와서 에서의 산을 심판하리니 나라가 여호와께 속하리라.” – 오바댜 1:17-21 하나님의 말씀은 글자 그대로 이루어질 것입니다. 저희는 하나님의 예언의 약속들이 이루어지는 시대에 이스라엘 땅에 살고 있습니다. 저희는 고향으로 돌아오고 있고 에서와 이스마엘의 씨, 아랍인들은 수백만의 자국민을 죽이고 멸함으로 무너지고 있고, 경제 상황도 악화되고 있습니다. 저희는 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 하나님의 말씀을 믿는다고 말하는, 말씀 안에서 형제인 우리의 모든 기독교 형제들의 기도와 후원과 도움이 필요합니다. 이스라엘 땅, 이스라엘 국가와 전 세계 유대인 공동체 중에 살고 있는 저희 예슈아의 제자들에게 우리의 귀한 형제들인 여러분이 필요한 이유는 세상을 사랑하사 여러분과 저희를 구원하시러 그의 독생자 예슈아를 이 세상에 보내신 하나님께서 이스라엘에 하신 그분의 약속들을 지키고 계시기 때문이며, 여러분이 하나님과 이스라엘과 함께 해야 하는 이유는 우리가 아는 바와 같이 역사의 무대의 마지막 장면의 여명이 밝았기 때문입니다. 새 하늘과 새 하늘이 있을 것입니다! 우리는 단지 언제, 어떻게를 모를 뿐입니다! 노아는 홍수 이전에는 비가 한 번도 없었던 지구의 마른 땅에 방주를 지었습니다. 그는 역청을 바른 이 나무 상자가 어떻게 그와 그의 가족과 인류를 구할지 몰랐고 실마리도 없었습니다. 그는 순종하고 신실하여 그 일을 해서 방주를 지었습니다. 저는 그의 아내가 매일 저녁 식사 때 그와 대화를 잘 했을 것이라고 믿습니다! 그는 하나님의 음성을 듣고 하나님께서 그에게 하도록 명하시고 이끄신 일을 했습니다! 서서 핍박을 견뎠지만 예루살렘과 사마리아 거리와 갈릴리 언덕에서 전달하라고 하나님께서 그들에게 주신 말씀을 믿는 믿음을 결코 그만두지 않았던 아브라함, 노아, 모세, 여호수아, 다윗과 저 선지자들의 본을 받읍시다.
주님의 뜻이면, 마르시아와 저는 다음 주에 미국으로 갑니다. 저는 저희 둘을 위한 특별 기도를 부탁드리는데요, 특별히 제 아내 마르시아를 위해 기도해 주십시오. 마르시아는 잘 지내고 있기는 하지만 아직 어지럼증이 있고 불안정한 상태입니다.
이번에 미국으로의 여행이 마르시아에게 특별히 중요한 것은 마르시아의 친정어머니가 돌아가셨을 때 저희가 그곳에 가지 못했기 때문입니다. 오랫동안 추수감사절을 지키는 것이 가족이 함께 모여 축하하는 중심에 있었었습니다.
금년 추수감사절은 마르시아의 친정가족이 그들의 어머니를 추모하는 첫 해가 될 것입니다. 마르시아를 위해 순적하고 안전하며 아무 문제없는 비행이 되고 테네시에 잘 도착하도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.
제 눈은 아직 기도가 필요합니다! 저는 아직 약을 먹어야 하며, 적어도 일 년 더 먹어야 할 것입니다. 제 눈에 이식된 각막은 공여자에게서 받은 것인데요, 거부반응의 위험은 언제나 있습니다.
아프가니스탄에 남겨져 탈레반의 수중에 놓인 기독교인 형제자매님들을 위해 계속 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 이들 형제자매님들은 목숨이 진짜 위험한 상황에 있습니다. 시간이 지날수록 아프가니스탄에 있는 우리 형제자매님들의 상황은 더욱 더 나아지지 않고 있습니다.
제 딸 다나와 제 손녀 노아암은 백신을 맞지 않았기 때문에 특별 기도가 필요합니다. 그들은 미국 캘리포니아에 살고 있습니다!
뇌졸중으로 중환자실에 입원했던, 하나님의 사람이며 제 제자 중 하나인 스티브(아셰르) 목크를 위해 계속 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 지금 스티브 목크는 귀가했으나, 말과 거동에 큰 어려움이 있습니다.
저희의 귀한 친구 마흐무드의 누이 구즐란이 매우 아프고, 마흐무드의 어머니도우리의 기도가 필요합니다. 아부-에이드 가족은 저희의 동기간 같은 팔레스타인 친구들 중 가장 착하고 귀한 가족 중 하나입니다. 여러분의 기도에 이들을 올려드려 주시기 바랍니다.

기독교의 미래는 로마나 콘스탄티노플이나 오클라호마 털사에 달려있지 않습니다. 전 세계 하나님의 백성의 미래는 하나님께서 이스라엘에 하신 약속의 성취와 메시아께서 예루살렘, 새 예루살렘으로 재림하시는 것에 달렸습니다.

저희가 예루살렘의 빈궁한 사람들과, 대학교 학생들인 믿는 자들에게 선을 행하고 축복이 될 기회들을 위해 기도해 주십시오. 하나님께서 주시는 기쁨과 특권의 기회입니다. 그리고 선을 행하고 축복이 되도록 주님께서 저희에게 주시는 모든 기회는 우리의 판단과 자선을 테스트 하는 것이기도 합니다.
하나님의 이름으로 가장 중요하고 가장 효과적인 선한 일들에 축복이 될 선택을 하는 판단을 테스트하는 것이며, 주님을 영화롭게 하며 우리의 충성됨을 보여주도록 후하고 선한 마음으로 주는 자선을 테스트하는 것입니다. 저희 편에 서서 이 축복을 누리십시오!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – November 4, 2021

The Torah reading this Shabbat is from Genesis 25:19 – 28:9. The name of this portion is Toldot – this Hebrew word is very important and it is translated into other languages in different ways: Toldot means history, genealogy, birthing…
These are but a few of the different meanings and uses of this word. The reading from the prophets (the Haftarah) is from Malachi 1:1 – 2:7, and from the New Testament the reading is from Paul’s letter to the Romans chapter 9:1-31. It is unusual that we read a whole chapter from the New Testament, but this is a very important chapter and it is connected with our Torah portion. The reading from the Torah starts with the following words: “This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac. Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.” – Genesis 25:19-21 [NKJV] It is a very strange genealogy! We have a few strange genealogies in the Bible and even in the New Testament. However, this one is strange because it so very short. We know from earlier chapters of the book of Genesis that Abraham had a father, and we know his father’s name and the names of Abraham’s grandfather and great grandfather. In fact, in Genesis chapter 11 we have Abraham’s genealogy from the time of Noah’s son Shem, eleven generations back. Why does our chapter start with Isaac’s genealogy and only give us two generations? This is an interesting question. There are several possible answers to this question: 1. Abraham’s genealogy for several generations was pagan, idol worshipers. The text here dealing with Isaac and Rebecca is concentrating on the “now” and not on the past and the word Toldot that is translated as “genealogy” is the same root as “birth” and the first thing that we hear in Isaac’s story after the death of his mother and father is that Rebecca his wife is not able to have children and Isaac is pleading with God for his wife, because she was barren. So, the whole blood line of Abraham and God’s promises to Abraham are now in danger and the word “Toldot” – “genealogy” reminds us of, and is associated with the word “birth,” in the Hebrew Language. Hebrew is a multilayered language and actually a very limited language and therefore words have many possible meanings. This makes the Hebrew Text of the Bible more difficult to understand and more interesting. 2. A second reason why Abraham’s full genealogy is not presented here could be that it was already given in chapter 11 of Genesis. 3. The third reason why a more extensive genealogy of Isaac is not given here, is to accentuate the fact that all of God’s promises to Abraham are now hanging by a thread. A thread that puts all of God’s plan of redemption of mankind in danger. The first round of humanity was a total failure, and it ended with Noah’s flood, where the Lord pushed the reset button and only eight people were saved, and this too didn’t eliminate the propensity for sin or the existence of rebellious and unfaithful human hearts. Now the Holy Spirit is trying to tell us, that is, all of humanity, that with Isaac, God is pushing the reset button again, and it is not natural and not by the force of nature that this new family, the family of Isaac, is going to continue and survive and produce the seed promised to Abraham that will become a blessing and salvation for all the nations (all humanity) of the Earth. In my opinion, that is why this portion of the Torah starts with the word “Toldot” – genealogy. There is one more strange use of the word “Toldot” – genealogy in the book of Genesis and also quoted in the New Testament in Matthew 1:1. The very opening verse of the book that we call the “New Testament.” The source of this quotation in the New Testament is from Genesis 5:1: “This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.” – Genesis 5:1 [NKJV] But Adam didn’t have a genealogy. Adam didn’t have a father and a mother. Adam was created from clay by the hand of the Almighty God and the spirit of life was breathed into his nostrils by the Father of Life, Himself. Why do you think that the Holy Spirit through the pen of Matthew, starts the Gospel with these words: “This is the book of the genealogy of Adam.” The reason is very simple and important. Matthew is about to tell us the fantastic story that a young woman named Myriam has conceived and given life to a boy without the interaction of a male partner, a man. This story is so fantastic and strange and difficult to understand that Matthew want’s to remind us that the Almighty God, creator of Heaven and Earth, can breathe life into a clay statue and make it alive without the intervention of a male. Here is the fantastic use of the word “Toldot”. Now on to Genesis 25, God opens the womb of Rebecca and she has twins, Esau and Jacob! This is not a natural birth. It is a miracle birth like the birth of Isaac, and like the birth of Yeshua. The birth of these twins came with a prophetic message, a massage that now thousands of years later is still being fulfilled and the end is known, but it is not yet in sight. “And the Lord said to her: ‘Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.’” – Genesis 25:23 [NKJV] This prophecy is a rolling forward prophecy. It is still being played out on the stage of history and through the very flesh and blood of the Jewish people who are returning home after two thousand years of diaspora. This return home to the land of Israel is not just the work of a few Zionists at the end of the 19th century. It is also the fulfillment of dozens of prophetic promises from the Torah, and through the New Testament. The one that I like specifically is short and it is promise whose fulfillment we at Netivyah have been praying for and working for. “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. The South shall possess the mountains of Esau, And the Lowland shall possess Philistia. They shall possess the fields of Ephraim And the fields of Samaria. Benjamin shall possess Gilead. And the captives of this host of the children of Israel Shall possess the land of the Canaanites As far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Shall possess the cities of the South.Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” – Obadiah 1:17-21 [NKJV] This word of God will be fulfilled to the letter. We are living in the Land of Israel at the time of the fulfillment of God’s prophetic promises. We are returning home and the seed of Esau and Ishmael, the Arabs, are falling apart with the murder and the destruction of millions of their own citizens, and a failing economic situation. We need the prayers and the support and the help of all of our Christian brothers in the Word, who claim to believe the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation. We, the disciples of Yeshua, living in the Land of Israel, and in the State of Israel, and in the Jewish communities around the world, need you, our dear brothers because the God who loved the world so much that He sent His only beloved Son, Yeshua, to the world to save you and us, is keeping His promises to Israel and you need to be with God and with Israel because these are the last scenes on the stage of History as we have known it from its dawn. There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth! We just don’t know when and how! Noah built the Ark on dry grown on an Earth that never had seen rain before the flood. He had no knowledge or clue of how this wooden box covered with pitch would save him and his family and humanity. He was obedient and faithful and did the work and built the Ark. I am sure that his wife, gave him a good talking every evening during dinner! He heard God and did what God commanded and led him to do! Let us take an example from Abraham, Noah, Moses, Joshua, David, and those prophets who stood and suffered persecution but never stopped believing in the words that God gave them to deliver on the streets of Jerusalem, Samaria, and in the hills of the Galilee.
The Lord willing, Marcia and I will fly to the USA next week. I am asking for special prayer for both of us, but especially for Marcia my wife. Marcia is doing better but she still has issues with the dizziness and instability.
This trip to the USA is especially important for Marcia because we were not there when her mother died. For many years the celebration of Thanksgiving was a central point for the family to gather and celebrate together.
This is the first year that Thanksgiving will be a memorial celebration for Marcia’s family to remember and celebrate their dear mother. Please, pray for Marcia and for ease and safety and a problem-free flight and arrival in Tennessee.
My eye still needs prayer! I still have to take medication and will have to do so for at least another year. The cornea that was transplanted in my eye is from a donor and there is always the danger of rejection.
Please continue praying for the Christian brothers and sisters who are left in Afghanistan in the hands of the Taliban. These brothers and sisters are in grave physical danger for their lives. The more time that passes, the more the condition of our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan is not getting better.
Danah my daughter and Noaam my granddaughter need special prayer because they are not vaccinated. They live in California!
Please keep praying for Steve (Asher) Mock, one of my disciples, a man of God, who had a CVA (stroke) and was in the ICU. Now Steve Mock is at home, but with big challenges in his speech and mobility.
Our dear friend Mahmud Abu-Eid’s sister Gouzlan is very sick, and also Mahmud’s mother needs our prayers. The Abu-Eid family is one of the finest and dearest families of Palestinian friends and soul brothers that we have. Please lift them up in your prayers.
Please pray also for Jimmy, the son of the Abu-Eid family. He is getting married in a week and needs our prayer and blessing in this marriage.
Keep the Israeli government in your prayers. There is much problems with this new government, but it is democratically-elected and it is in the process of passing a budget, something that we have not had for the last three years.
The hate-mongering that is going on between the previous government and this new very complex government that we have now is just coming from the pit. If this hate and discord does not stop our very existence in this part of the world is in danger.
Pray for Israel, for the left wing, the middle, and the right wing, and above and below. Pray for Jews and Arabs and for the Druze population of Israel.
I beg God for mercy on His people and on His land. Stand with Israel in every forum and every pulpit and every occasion.
The future of Christianity doesn’t depend on Rome, Constantinople, or Tulsa, Oklahoma. The future of God’s people worldwide depends on the fulfillment of God’s promises to Israel and the return of the Messiah to Jerusalem, the New Jerusalem.
Pray and support Netivyah during these very hard times, for opportunities to do good and to bless and feed and support the population of Israel, those in need whose number has increased by many percentage points during these difficult days in Israel.
Pray for our opportunities to do good and to be a blessing to the needy population in Jerusalem, and to believers who are students at the universities. God gives opportunities of joy and privilege and every opportunity that the Lord gives us to do good and to be a blessings, is also a test of our judgement and charity.
A test of our judgment is to make choices that are going to be a blessing to the most important and the most effective good works of God, in God’s name. The test of our charity is to give generously and with a good heart in order to honor our Lord and to show our faithfulness. Stand with us and enjoy the blessings!
It is very very seldom that I appeal for financial support for Netivyah. However, the situation with the Coronavirus in Israel like in the whole world has opened opportunities to do good and bless people (not only disciples of Yeshua) and to share the love and care of the Lord in a tangible way that is second to none.

Remember Tony and Louisa Tam, and our brothers and sisters at the 611 Church, and the other churches who love God and love Israel in that great city. Remember in your prayers the Cohen family in Hong Kong.
I am asking for you to pray for a dear sister Ema in China. She is a wonderful and very dear servant of the Lord and is in special need of much prayer and guidance from God.

Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic.
I would like a new prayer request for a dear brother Yehuda Hochman who lives in the Negev Desert. Yehuda has to receive Dialysis treatment several times per week.

Please pray for our two grandchildren. They are both graduating in a few weeks from high school. They are both facing this important change in their lives. Noam our granddaughter also had her 18th birthday on May 1st. This was a very big day for Noam. She is free from high school and also from other obligations and is privileged to make her own decisions and choices in life. Pray for Noam on this major crossroad of life for her and ask the Lord to bless Noam and to give her clear direction and guidance for what is good and right and holy in her life.
Both Noam and Joseph, our two grandchildren, are extremely talented and good students. Both are “A” students and excellent young people, but both need divine protection and guidance to make good and smart and right choices for life.
When I was 18 years old and cut off from my family because of my faith in the Messiah, I had no one on my side and no one to guide me. The Lord’s providential leading and guidance was the only guide that I had. I praise the Lord for His goodness and direction in my life.
One last prayer request for this week. You will think that I am crazy and you will want to commit me to the “funny farm.” I am now teaching four days per week three hours each day in Harare, Zimbabwe, in what is called Yeshua College. In fact my title is “Academic Dean!”
All the students are from the Lemba tribe in Africa, they are all פastors and leaders in congregations. The challenge is enormous and the load for a 75-year-old man with high mileage for 60 years is also enormous. The need is also enormous and taking upon myself this load is crazy enough for a younger more capable man.
For an old one-eyed Jew it is more than enormous! It requires divine grace and strength and health and every other kind of physical and spiritual vitamin. This project was started and inspired and is financed by a dear friend who also needs our prayer.
Just pray for Joseph Shulam and for our dear friend R.W. Ask the Lord to bless him and his family and his work.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children. Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
