이번 안식일 토라 포션은 “타즈리아”라고 하는 레위기 12:1~15:33이며, 선지서에서 읽는 하프타라 포션은 열왕기하 4:42~5:18, 7:3-20이고, 신약성경에서는 마태복음 8:1-4을 읽습니다.

3월이 거의 저물고 4월이 문 앞에 다가왔고 저희 집에서는 유월절 준비를 시작하고 있습니다.
마르시아는 하나님으로부터 도움이 필요합니다. 의사들은 뭐가 문제인지 모릅니다. 여러 가지 검사를 많이 했지만 뚜렷이 알거나 진단이 내려지지 않았습니다.
마르시아는 밤낮 대부분을 잡니다. 일어서면 혈압이 크게 떨어집니다. 저는 여러분께 마르시아의 건강을 위해, 최소한 집 주변에서만이라도 일어나서 뭘 할 수 있도록 특별 기도를 해주실 것을 부탁드립니다.
지난 며칠 동안 이스라엘은 아이시스와 결탁된 팔레스타인 테러리스트들의 잔혹한 테러 공격을 겪었습니다. 세계는 아이시스가 끝났다고 믿지만, 저희에게는 아이시스가 형태를 바꿔, 여전히 사람의 영혼을 전염시켜 그들로 하여금 나가서 가능한 한 많은 유대인을 죽이는 한 가지 목적으로 돌아다니도록 부추기는 잔혹한 죽음의 이데올로기를 가지고 활발하다는 사실이 상기되고 있습니다.
첫 번째 공격은 네게브 베두윈 마을 출신의 미혼의 고등학교 교사에 의한 것이었는데요, 그는 사람들을 죽이러 칼을 가지고 브엘셰바 시내로 가서 네 명을 죽였습니다. 두 번째 공격은 하데라 시에서 있었는데요, 완전무장한 테러리스트 두 명이, 근처 식당에서 저녁을 먹고 있던 경찰 몇 명이 그들을 진압할 때까지, 민간인에게 무차별 총격을 가했습니다.
그들은 여섯 명의 남녀를 죽였습니다. 하데라에서 죽은 사람들 중에는 젊은 경관도 두 명 있었는데요, 한 명은 두르즈인 청년 경관이었고 한 명은 프랑스에서 이민 와 경찰에서 자원하여 복무 중이던 19세의 유대인 여성이었습니다.
3월 28일 저녁 세 번째 공격에서는 M-16 자동소총을 가진 미혼의 테러리스트가 정통유대교 마을로 들어가 브네이 브락 주거지 거리에서 사람들에게 총격을 가했습니다. 그는 여섯 명을 죽였는데, 그 중 세 명은 기독교인이었습니다. 두 명은 우크라이나 기독교인이었고, 한 명은 상(上)나사렛 출신 아랍계 이스라엘인 기독교인이었습니다.
이스라엘은 여러분의 기도가 필요합니다! 저희는 여러분의 기도와 기도 이상이 필요합니다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – March 31, 2022

The Torah reading this Shabbat is from the Torah portion that is called “Tazria”, from Leviticus 12:1 - 15:33, and from the prophets the Haftarah portion is from 2 Kings 4:42 - 5:18, 7:3-20. From the New Testament we read Matthew 8:1-4.
The Torah portion of Tazria starts with some important information that connects me to the Gospel of Luke: “Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord (as it is written in the law of the Lord, ‘Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord’), and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, ‘A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.’” – Luke 2:22-24 Luke knows the Torah and is telling us here that Joseph and Mary did everything according to the law of Moses. Mary waited for the days of her purification to be fulfilled before she takes (probably with Joseph) the baby to the Temple for circumcision and purification. Luke wants us to know that Mary and Joseph kept the Torah and observed every command of the Torah. “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: “If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean. And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.”’” – Leviticus 12:1-4 Why do you think that Luke is the only one of the four gospels that is giving us such details about the birth and the circumcision of baby Yeshua? I think that Luke, specifically because he is a medical doctor and also a non-Jewish disciple of Yeshua and Paul, wanted us to know that Yeshua was a legitimate boy born to Jews, who observe the commandments of the Torah to the letter. You see, the fact that Joseph and Mary took the baby to the Temple in Jerusalem, and did all the purification rights and the circumcision of Baby Yeshua, is an indication that there was no doubts or legal consideration of the birth of Yeshua. From the text in Luke we also connect with the Torah reading that reveals to us that Joseph and Mary were not financially rich, but at best they were on the lower scale of the middle class in Israel. They brought as their sacrifice in Jerusalem two turtledoves. This was the prescription for people who could not bring a bull or a cow or a goat or a sheep, but like blue-collar workers living in a very small place in the lower Galilee, they could bring the two turtledoves. The reading from the prophets, from 2 Kings 4:42 - 5:18 is a part of Elisha the prophet’s narratives. The connection between the Torah and the prophets’ readings this Shabbat is also the issue of leprosy. The story that interests me most from this reading is the story of Naaman, the minister of war of the kingdom of Assyria. The text starts with these words: “Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.” – 2 Kings 5:1 This verse is the text that sets the stage of the whole story. The introduction of the hero of this story, Naaman, is that he was a great and honorable man, in the eyes of his master. There is only one small problem – this great general of Assyria has leprosy. He is very sick with a terrible incurable illness, a very infectious illness – leprosy. The second important person of this story is actually a young slave girl that Naaman captured in his wars with Israel. Here is the text: “And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife.” – 2 Kings 5:2 We have a great and honorable man, a general of the army of Assyria that has no solution to his problem, the terrible problem of leprosy. The young Israelite slave girl, a person without a name, has a solution for her mistress’ husband – the great man, Naaman. This nameless Israelite slave girl can’t even talk to her master, Naaman. The best she can do is talk with the wife of Naaman, her mistress, her boss. This is what the text says: “Then she said to her mistress, ‘If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.’ And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, ‘Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.’” – 2 Kings 5:3,4 The slave girl tells Naaman’s wife that in Israel, in Samaria, there is a prophet, a man of God, that can heal Naaman. There is a tension between the great Naaman and the small, young, nameless Israelite slave girl, who was captured in Israel during one of Naaman’s raids on Israel. A great man doesn’t just pack his bag and travel to another country at his will. Naaman needs a referral letter from his king to the king of Israel, to introduce him and help him find that prophet of Israel, Elisha. The king of Assyria writes a letter to the king of Israel and asks him to help Naaman find the prophet Elisha, and send a recommendation to Elisha to heal Naaman. Elisha is not impressed by the king of Assyria’s letter, and not impressed by Naaman (a pagan general who has waged war against Israel and taken captives). Naaman also brought rich gifts for the man of God who would heal him from leprosy. Elisha the prophet is not impressed by Naaman, nor by the king of Assyria, nor by the king of Israel. As the chariots of Naaman come to Elisha’s estate, and the dust settles, and Naaman’s servants knock on Elisha’s door, Elisha doesn’t even get up to the door. “And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, ‘Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.’ But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, ‘Indeed, I said to myself, “He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.” Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?’ So, he turned and went away in a rage.” – 2 Kings 5:10-12 Elisha the prophet tells Naaman and his servants what he needs to do in order for the Lord to heal him from his leprosy. “Go wash in the Jordan seven times!” The solution that Elisha the prophet gives Naaman is so simple, cheap, and plain, that it offends Naaman. He was thinking that there would be some grand production and ceremony, but Elisha sends him to the Jordan River. That is like a ditch in relationship to the great rivers of Assyria – the Abanah and the Pharpar. Naaman is so offended that he gets in his chariot and drives east toward the crossing of the Jordan River, just south of the Lake Kinneret. Now again we move from the great man Naaman to his servants, his slaves, the ones who drive the chariots of Naaman. They suggest to Naaman: “What do you care master? Here we are at the Jordan River. Go on and enter the waters of the Jordan and immerse yourself seven times.” Naaman was already by the Jordan, and his servants are again instructing, suggesting, to this great man to hear the man of God, Elisha. And what does he have to lose? Naaman obeys the command of Elisha the prophet, and immerses himself in the Jordan River seven times. And when he comes out the seventh time with skin as clean as a baby’s behind, he is so thankful for the healing that he experiences by listening to the direction of his slaves, the young poor Israelite girl slave that is serving his wife, and now the servants that are driving his chariot. The whole story is how the small people, the slaves, who have God and hear God’s commands, have such a great advantage over the great people of the world. The story is that the great and powerful leaders, kings and generals of war, are helpless if they don’t hear the advice of the Jewish, Israelite, slave girl that has only one asset, the word of God as it is delivered by the prophet of Israel, Elisha. This story is a story of how the small people with the word of God, have a greater power than the mighty and strong and powerful people of the world. A captive young Hebrew slave girl is more powerful because of her knowledge of what the man of God can do, what God can do, which is greater than what the kings of the Earth and the powerful men of this world can do. We must take this lesson to heart and put it together with the words of Jacob the brother of Yeshua (James) in his letter: “Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called? If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.” – James 2:5-9

The month of March is almost over, and April is at the door and the preparation for the Passover is beginning in my home.
Marcia needs help from God. The doctors don’t know what the problem is. Many tests were made but there is no definite understanding or diagnosis.
Marcia sleeps most of the day and night, and her blood pressure drops drastically when she stands. I am asking you to pray especially for Marcia’s health and her ability to get up and do things, at least around the house.
In the last few days Israel has experienced horrible terrorist attacks by Palestinian terrorists associated with ISIS. The world believes that ISIS is over, but we are reminded that ISIS has morphed and it is still active with the horrible deadly ideology that infects the souls of men, and motivates them to go on killing sprees with one goal, and that is to kill as many, in this case Jews, as possible.
The first attack was by a single highschool teacher from the Bedouin community in the Negev, who went killing people with a knife in downtown Beer-Sheva, and killed four people. The second attack was in the city of Hedera where two terrorists, armed to the teeth, went shooting indiscriminately civilians, until a group of a few policemen that were having dinner in a nearby restaurant neutralized them.
They killed six men and women. Among the dead in Hadera there were two young policeman, one a Druze young policeman and the second a 19-year-old Jewish immigrant girl from France who volunteered to serve in the police.
In the third attack, on the evening of March 28th, a single terrorist with a short M-16 automatic gun, went in an orthodox Jewish neighborhood shooting people in the street in a residential neighborhood of Bnei Brak. He killed six people, and three of them were Christians. Two Ukrainians who were Christians, and one Christian Arab Israeli policeman from upper Nazareth.
Israel needs your prayers! We need your prayers and more than your prayers.
Please pray for Israel this way:
1. Pray for the Lord to bless the Israeli government with wisdom and ways to deal and stop this wave of terrorism that again is visiting Israel, just before the Passover for the Jews, and Easter for the Christians, and Ramadan for the Muslims that all come together in the month of April.
2. Pray for unity among our government politicians. Because we have had so many elections and finally built a coalition government made of a crab, a pelican, and a dolphin. The coalition government of Israel is a mixture of Jews and Arabs that are trying to work together, but they need prayer from Christians to give these politicians the wisdom and understanding to keep it together.
3. Pray for us in Netivyah and the Ro’eh Israel Congregation, and our sister congregations in Finland, Brazil, and brothers and sisters around the world. This Passover we have a major worldwide seminar for Passover. You can register here for free.
Please continue to pray for Ukraine and for Europe and Russia and the USA. The danger for a world war is not over. On the contrary, the possibilities of a major world war are only increasing and the danger is so significant that in the next world war it might be Armageddon.
No one knows when the end of the world will come and when Yeshua will descend on Mount of Olives in Jerusalem to start the true and real and positive New World Order as it is described in the prophets of Israel, from Moses to Malachi, and in the last chapters of the book of Revelation.
Please pray for our dear brother Keijo and Sister Salme in Finland. Marcia and I need your prayers and Keijo and Salme need your prayers. We are getting older and our bodies are not what they used to be and we need healing and strength from the Lord to continue and do the Lord’s work.

A very dear sister who is a Korean living in Mexico and doing international ministry, Sarah Lee, is feeling better after a massive stroke and she is out of danger, but has to go through physical therapy and relearn to walk and conduct herself. Please keep our dear sister Sarah Lee in prayer.
We received a prayer request from a dear sister, Livia Schnell Nothen, who has been with us in Portugal and has stood with our brothers in Brazil and with us on the issue of the Anussim.
Please keep brother Philip Marc in your prayers. Philip is a young man with very serious cancer. He is a truth seeker and a faithful disciple of Yeshua who loves God and who is a lover of Israel. Philip lives far from Israel in a country that we can’t travel to, but Philip's heart is with us, and with God’s people.
Pray for Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is the father of a dear sister in Brazil.
The situation in Israel is getting better and many of the restrictions have been lifted. Tourists are coming, and that is a big blessing to all of Israel, and especially to many of our brothers and sisters who work as tour guides.
1. Please keep doing intercessory prayer for the whole world, concentrate on your country, but do not forget Israel.
2. There is a blessing from God to those who pray for other brothers and sisters and intercede through the Holy Spirit for the body of the Messiah.
3. It might seem like a small thing for us to pray a few minutes for brothers and sisters around the world, but in the kingdom and in the Heavens, attention is paid by the authorities of goodness to the caring and sincere intercessory prayer that conforms and confirms that the body of the Messiah Yeshua is truly one body.
4. Pray for those who have prayed so faithfully for the salvation of Israel and the peace in Israel. If you are not praying for the salvation of Israel, please start now. This prayer is sure to be answered by the Lord because He promised that, “all of Israel shall be saved!”
Please pray for Gary, our daughter-in-law Beth Shulam’s father. Pray for Danah our daughter, she needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson.

By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters, and whom you do not know personally, you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.” “Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do.

3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.
We have brothers and sisters in Israel and in China, and I ask you to pray for their safety and protection: Deborah Ruth, Lydia, Sima, Laurel S., Naomi, David S., Daniel, Dalia D. and her sister Tikvah, and Ayla who has just given birth to a daughter. Pray for Elhanan and his family.
In Korea we need to pray for Dr. Song and his wife Dr. Kim, and for KIBI, the most important organization that started the great interest and support for Israel and for the Jewish disciples of Yeshua in Israel.
In Africa, please pray Ismael Alves, Asher Gabriel, M. Ahuva, and especially for Yeshua College in Zimbabwe. Netivyah is providing most of the teaching in this new college that is especially serving the leadership of the Lamba tribe in Africa.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit here and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system.
The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel going to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail.
Pray for some dear friends, Rabbi Salt, and his family and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.
We are praying for Tali and asking you all to pray for Tali. We need to ask God to heal and bless this dear sister that is suffering both physically and materially. Tali has three teenage daughters with health problems and Tali herself has some serious health problems.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children.
Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
