이번 안식일 토라 포션은 히브리어로 “테짜베”라고 부르는데요, 이것은 “명하라”로 번역될 것입니다. 출애굽기 27:20~30:10과, 선지서(하프타라)에서는 에스겔 43:10-27과, 신약성경에서는 디도서 1:5~2:15를 읽습니다.
읽는 모든 본문에 우리가 찾아내어 우리 자신의 삶과 전능하신 하나님 아버지와의 관계에 적용해야 할 아주 중요하고 매료시키는 개념과 원리가 있습니다. 저는 이번 안식일 토라 포션의 첫 구절에 매료되었습니다! “너는 또 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 감람으로 짠 순수한 기름을 등불을 위하여 네게로 가져오게 하고 끊이지 않게 등불을 켜되” – 출애굽기 27:20 제가 매료된 점은 이렇습니다: 제가 저희 집 근처 슈퍼마켓에 가서 올리브유가 있는 칸에 가면, 저는 집중해서 20여 개 브랜드 올리브유 중에서 골라야 합니다. 올리브유 외에도 카놀라유, 해바라기씨유, 포도씨유, 그 외 말만 하면 알만한 다른 기름도 있습니다. 저희 변두리 작은 슈퍼마켓에도 온갖 종류가 있습니다. 올리브유는 아마 이스라엘에 있는 기름 중 가장 비쌀 것입니다. 21세기 이스라엘인인 저의 태도입니다. (이스라엘 사람들만 이런 것이 아니라 다른 나라 사람들도 똑같을 것입니다.) 제가 메노라(촛대)에서 불을 켜기 위해 올리브유, 냉압착 버진유를 산다면, 어떤 차이가 있을까요? 저는 왜 4분의 1 가격의 해바라기유를 사지 않고 메노라에서 태울 올리브유를 사는데 적어도 두 배를 지불해야 할까요? 우리는 광야의 성막에 있는 것도 아니고 예루살렘 솔로몬 성전에 있는 것도 아닙니다. 해바라기씨유도 똑같이 식용으로도 촛대용으로도 좋습니다. 그렇다면 우리는 왜 하나님께서 우리에게 명령하신 것을 정확히 따라야 하는 것일까요? 현대 유대인들과 기독교인들로부터 제가 들은 논거는, 우리는 21세기에 살고 있으며 당나귀를 타지 않고 차를 몰고 있다는 것입니다. 우리는 잉크 펜을 사용하고 바위에 메시지를 새기거나 파피루스에 그림을 그리지 않습니다. 이 시대 우리는 사람을 달에 보내고 있습니다. 미국 최고의 대학을 졸업한 지적인 목회자들에게서 들은 가장 충격적인 주장은 다음과 같습니다: “하나님은 우리를 이해하시며 우리가 살고 있는 세상을 알고 계십니다. 따라서 오래된 이 계명들은 현대 우리의 생활방식과 세계화된 우리 주변의 모든 것에 그다지 중요하지 않고 관련성이 있습니다!” 그들은 이렇게 말합니다. “세상은 변하고 우리의 종교도 우리 시대의 문화적 변화와 함께 바뀌어야 합니다.” 저는 이 글을 읽고 있는 많은 분들이 이러한 현대적 태도를 시인하고 지지하며 동의할 것이라고 믿어 의심치 않습니다. 여러분은 이렇게 말할 것입니다: “우리가 메노라에서 태우기 위해 해바라기유를 사용하고 그 차액을 가난한 사람들에게 줄 수 있다면 올리브유에 더 많은 돈을 쓸 필요가 없습니다...” 위와 같은 사고방식은 매우 현대적이며 유대인들에게도 기독교인들에게도 매우 대중적입니다. 우리가 이렇게 매우 실용주의적 방식으로 생각하는 이유는 어느 정도 우리가 주님에 대한 두려움을 잃어버렸고, 우리의 신앙을 가족과 지역 사회를 위한 격식을 차리지 않는 문화적 편의시설로 보며, 교회에 가는 것이 우리 아이들에게 좋기 때문입니다. 우리의 서구 문명과 현대 문화, 심지어 할리우드 이후의 문화는 우리를 진정으로 거룩하고 신성한 것에서 멀어지게 했습니다. 그렇습니다, 우리는 우리 자신을 믿는 자, 예슈아의 제자라고 봅니다. 우리는 우리가 예슈아의 신실한 제자라고, 우리가 비록 죄인이지만, 주님의 은혜가 우리에게 충분하다고 생각하고 싶어 합니다! 여러분은 이 제사장 옷에 들어가는 작업과 이 옷이 얼마나 무거웠을지 상상하실 수 있습니까? 섭씨 45도, 혹은 화씨 114도까지 올라갈 수 있는 시내 광야의 열기 속에서 이 옷을 입은 아론의 아들들의 자세를 상상하실 수 있습니까? 아론의 아들들인 저 젊은 제사장들이 속으로 “어찌하여 성소 저편에서 제단을 위한 불을 가져오려고 이렇게 멀리까지 가지? 훨씬 더 가까운 곳에 불씨가 있는데. 그 불이 그 불이지… 아이고 늦었다, 우리 아버지 아론이 우리를 기다리고 계시니 그냥 제단에 훨씬 가까운 곳에 있는 이 불을 가져가자…” 말하는 것을 상상하실 수 있습니까? 우르르 쾅! 그들은 그렇게 했고, 하늘의 불이 나답과 아비후를 집어삼켰습니다. 저는 먼저 나 자신에게, 두 번째로 내 가족에게, 세 번째로 예루살렘에 있는 우리 회중에게 우리는 선한 사람들이며 예슈아의 “신실한” 제자라고 말합니다. 그리고 우리는 만왕의 왕이신 우리 구주 예슈아의 열매 맺는 종이 되기를 진심으로 원합니다! 그러나 우리는 우리 삶에서 주님에 대한 두려움을 날카롭게 해야 합니다. 병적인 의미의 두려움이 아니라, 우리에게 생명과 호흡과, 영원과 심판 때 무죄 선고의 약속과, 사망과 질병이 없는 곳에서 성도들과 영원무궁토록 교제할 수 있게 해주시는 분에 대한 공경, 존경, 감사, 기쁘게 하려는 열망, 깊은 사랑을 의미하는 “경외”로 번역되는 두려움 말입니다. 우리가 죽음 이후의 삶과 모든 육신의 심판과 죽은 자들 가운데서의 부활이 있으며, 하나님께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 모든 사람이 지옥에서 구원을 받고 천국을 누릴 수 있도록 독생자를 주셨음을 진정으로 믿는다면… 우리는 하나님께서 광야의 성막과 예루살렘 성전의 등대에 쓸 올리브유를 구하는 것과 같은 아주 단순한 일을 하라고 명하실 때, 올바른 기름을 구하고 계속해서 삶을 즐기라고 명령하신다는 사실을 알 만큼 충분히 지혜로울 것입니다! 토라에는 다음과 같이 말하는 수십 개의 구절이 있습니다: “유다 지파 훌의 손자요 우리의 아들인 브살렐은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 모든 것을 만들었고” – 출애굽기 38:22 이 구절에서 제가 강조하고 싶은 단어는 “여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 모든 것을 만들었다!”입니다. 우리 조상들이 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 모든 것을 항상 행한 것은 아니라는 것은 사실입니다! 우리가 보는 것은 순종하며 주님의 뜻을 행하는 것이 불가능하지 않다는 것입니다. 모든 세대 성도들은 그렇게 했고, 우리가 딛고 설 기반, 우리가 하나님께서 우리에게 명하신 것을 행하지 않을 때 고백하고 회개할 수 있을 만큼 적어도 주님과 그분의 말씀과, 우리 구주 예슈아에 대한 존경심을 갖는 기반을 마련했습니다. 예슈아께서 말씀하셨습니다: 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가볍다! 이 가르침의 결론으로, 성경에 주님을 경외하는 것에 대해 이야기하는 몇 구절이 있습니다: “이스라엘이 여호와께서 애굽 사람들에게 행하신 그 큰 능력을 보았으므로 백성이 여호와를 경외하며 여호와와 그의 종 모세를 믿었더라.” – 출애굽기 14:31 “곧 너와 네 아들과 네 손자들이 평생에 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하며 내가 너희에게 명한 그 모든 규례와 명령을 지키게 하기 위한 것이며 또 네 날을 장구하게 하기 위한 것이라.” – 신명기 6:2 “이는 땅의 모든 백성에게 여호와의 손이 강하신 것을 알게 하며 너희가 너희의 하나님 여호와를 항상 경외하게 하려 하심이라 하라.” – 여호수아 4:24 “그러므로 이제는 여호와를 경외하며 온전함과 진실함으로 그를 섬기라 너희의 조상들이 강 저쪽과 애굽에서 섬기던 신들을 치워 버리고 여호와만 섬기라.” – 여호수아 24:14 “여호와를 두려워하는 너희여 그를 찬송할지어다 야곱의 모든 자손이여 그에게 영광을 돌릴지어다 너희 이스라엘 모든 자손이여 그를 경외할지어다.” – 시편 22:23 “여호와를 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근본이요 거룩하신 자를 아는 것이 명철이니라.” – 잠언 9:10 “형제들아 아브라함의 후손과 너희 중 하나님을 경외하는 사람들아 이 구원의 말씀을 우리에게 보내셨거늘” – 사도행전 13:26 “그들의 눈 앞에 하나님을 두려워함이 없느니라 함과 같으니라.” – 로마서 3:18 “그런즉 사랑하는 자들아 이 약속을 가진 우리는 하나님을 두려워하는 가운데서 거룩함을 온전히 이루어 육과 영의 온갖 더러운 것에서 자신을 깨끗하게 하자.” – 고린도후서 7:1 “그리스도를 경외함으로 피차 복종하라.” – 에베소서 5:21 “종들아 모든 일에 육신의 상전들에게 순종하되 사람을 기쁘게 하는 자와 같이 눈가림만 하지 말고 오직 주를 두려워하여 성실한 마음으로 하라.” – 골로새서 3:22 저는 나 자신과 내 가족과 예루살렘에 있는 저희 회중과, 브라질, 핀란드, 불가리아에 있는 공동체와, 아시아, 유럽, 북미에 있는 형제자매들에게, 우리도 주님에 대한 우리의 진실하고 참된 두려움의 산물일 존경과 진지함으로 그분의 명령과 지시와 가르침을 받아들이도록 주님에 대한 두려움을 회복하고 재건하기 위해 노력하도록 축복합니다. 저는 이 교훈이 무엇보다도 나 자신을 위한 것이며 어느 한 개인이나 어떤 교단 그룹이나 비교파적 교단을 비난하는 것이 아님을 고백합니다. 우리 모두는 하나님의 말씀을 진지하게 받아들이도록 상기되고 훈계 받아야 하며, 우리 주 예슈아의 말씀과 명령은 우리가 그것을 지키고 순종할 수 있고 또 순종해야 하는 것이 기대되고 명해졌음을 이해해야 합니다. 그렇습니다, 이것은 어떤 식으로든 우리 모두가 은혜로 구원을 받았다는 사실을 바꾸지 않습니다. 그러나 은혜는 이 우주의 주인이신 분의 말씀과 명령에 대한 불순종과 불경에 대한 허가가 아닙니다! 다음은 이스라엘에 있는 메시아의 몸으로서 우리가 노력해야 하고 우리 모두에게 주님에 대한 두려움을 심어주어야 하는 아주 짧은 목록입니다! 1. 형제 간의 문제를 다루고 해결하는 방법: “네 형제가 죄를 범하거든 가서 너와 그 사람과만 상대하여 권고하라 만일 들으면 네가 네 형제를 얻은 것이요 만일 듣지 않거든 한두 사람을 데리고 가서 두세 증인의 입으로 말마다 확증하게 하라 만일 그들의 말도 듣지 않거든 교회에 말하고 교회의 말도 듣지 않거든 이방인과 세리와 같이 여기라.” – 마태복음 18:15-17 2. 자선을 베풀고 주님의 공동체에 헌금하는 방법: “너는 구제할 때에 오른손이 하는 것을 왼손이 모르게 하여” – 마태복음 6:3 이것은 주님께서 우리에게 하라고 명하신 일의 두 가지 짧은 예일 뿐이며, 우리는 주님을 두려워하기 때문에 그것을 올바르게 행해야 합니다!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – February 10, 2022

The Torah reading this Shabbat is called in Hebrew “Tetzaveh”, which in English would be translated “Command”. We read from Exodus 27:20 – 30:10, and from the prophets (Haftarah) from Ezekiel 43:10-27. From the New Testament we read Titus 1:5-2:15.
Every one of these readings has some very important and fascinating ideas and principles that we ought to glean from and apply to our own lives and relationship with the Almighty God and Father. I am fascinated with the first verse of our Torah reading this Shabbat! “And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.” – Exodus 27:20 [NKJV] Here is my fascination: When I go to the supermarket near my home and go into the aisle that has the olive oil, I need to concentrate and choose from at least 20 different brands of olive oil. And beside the olive oils there are other types of oils – canola, sunflower seed, grapeseed, and you name it. They have it all in our little suburban supermarket. The olive oil is probably the most expensive oil that there is in Israel. Here comes my 21st Century Israeli attitude. (Not only Israelis do this, also other nationalities act the same.) What difference does it make if I buy olive oil, cold-pressed virgin oil, for burning in my menorah (candelabra)? Why should I pay at least double to buy olive oil for burning and not buy sunflower oil that is about a quarter of the price? We are not in the Tabernacle in the wilderness, nor are we in Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. Sunflower seed oil is just as good for both eating and for burning in a candle. So, why do we have to follow exactly what God commanded us? The rationale that I have heard, both from more modern Jews and from Christians, is that we are living in the 21st Century, driving cars and not riding donkeys. We are using ink pens and not carving messages on rocks, or drawing on papyrus. We are sending men to the moon these days. The most shocking argument that I have heard from some good intellectual pastors who have graduated from some of the best universities in the USA is this: “God can understand us, and He knows the the world that we are living in, and therefore these old commands are not so important and relevant to our modern lifestyle and to the globalization of everything around us!” They say: “Things change and our religion has to change with the cultural changes of our day.” I have no doubt that many of you who are reading this will concur and support this modern attitude and agree. You would say something like this: “We don’t need to spend more money on olive oil for burning in the menorah when we can use sunflower oil and give the difference to the poor…” The above way of thinking is very modern and very popular both among Jews and among Christians. The reason that we think in these very utilitarian patterns is because we have lost some of the fear of the Lord and we look at our faith as a casual cultural accommodation for our families and for the community, and because going to church is good for our children… Our western civilization and modern, even post-Hollywood, culture has distanced us from from what is truly holy and divine. Yes, we see ourselves as believers, even as disciples of Yeshua, and we would like to think that we are faithful disciples of Yeshua, although sinners, but His grace is sufficient for us! Can you imagine the work that went into these priestly uniforms, and how heavy these uniforms must have been? Can you imagine the attitude of the sons of Aaron wearing these uniforms in the Sinai Desert heat, that could go up to 45 degrees Centigrade, and 114 Fahrenheit? Can you in your imagination imagine those young priests, the sons of Aaron, saying to themselves, “Why go so far to bring fire for the altar from the other side of the holy precinct? We have a much closer source of fire. Fire is fire is fire… We are late and Aaron our father is waiting for us, let us just get this fire that is much closer to the altar…” Boom! They did, and fire from Heaven devoured Nadav and Avihu. I say to myself first, to my family second, and to our congregation in Jerusalem third, that we are good people, and we are “faithful” disciples of Yeshua. And we sincerely want to be fruitful servants of the King of Kings, Yeshua our Savior! However, we have to sharpen the fear of the Lord in our lives, not fear in the pathological meaning of the word, but I would translate the word “fear” with the following: honor, respect, appreciation, desire to please, and deep love for someone who is giving us life and breath, the promise of eternity and acquittal in judgment, and fellowship with the saints forever and ever in a place where there is no death and no illness. If we believe truly that there is life after death and judgment of all flesh and the resurrection from the dead, and that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that all can be saved from Hell and enjoy Heaven… We must be wise enough to know that when God commands us to do something so simple like get olive oil for the lampstand in the Tabernacle in the wilderness, and for the Temple in Jerusalem – just get the right oil, and keep enjoying life! There are dozens of verses in the Torah that state like this one: “Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord had commanded Moses.” – Exodus 38:22 [NKJV] The words that I would like to emphasize in this verse are: “Made all that the Lord had commanded Moses!” It is true that our forefathers didn’t always do all that the Lord commanded Moses! What we do see that it is not impossible to be obedient and do the will of the Lord. Saints throughout all the generations have did it, and built the platform for us to stand on and at least have enough respect for the Lord and for His Word, and for Yeshua our Savior to confess and repent when we don’t do what God commanded us. Yeshua said: My yoke is easy and my burden is light! In conclusion of this teaching here are some verses that speak about the fear of the Lord from the Bible: “Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared theLord, and believed the Lord and His servant Moses.” – Exodus 4:31 “…that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.” – Deuteronomy 6:2 “…that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.” – Joshua 4:24 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!” – Joshua 24:14 “You who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!” – Psalm 22:23 “The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord, And knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10 “Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent.” – Acts 13:26 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” – Romans 3:18 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” – 2 Corinthians 7:1 “…submitting to one another in the fear of God.” – Ephesians 5:21 “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.” – Colossians 3:22 I bless myself, my family, our congregation in Jerusalem, our fellowships in Brazil, Finland, Bulgaria, and our brothers and sisters in Asia, Europe, and North America to work on restoring and rebuilding our fear of the Lord, to the degree that we will also take His commands and His instructions and His teaching with the level of respect and seriousness that will be a product of our sincere and true fear of the Lord. I confess that this lesson is first and foremost for myself and not in condemnation of any one person or group of denomination or non-denominational denomination. We all need to be reminded and admonished to take the word of God seriously and understand that the words and the instruction of our Lord Yeshua are expected and prescribed so that we can and must keep them and obey. Yes, this does not in any way change the fact that we are all saved by grace. But grace is not a license for disobedience and disrespect for the word and instruction of the Master of this Universe! Here is a very short list of some things that as a body of the Messiah in Israel we need to work on and put the fear of the Lord in us all! 1. How we deal and resolve issues between brothers: “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.” – Matthew 18:17 2. How to give charity and contribute money to the Lord’s community: “But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing…” – Matthew 6:3 These are just two short examples of things that the Lord commanded us to do, and we ought to do them just right because of our fear of the Lord!

I received a message from our dear brother Keijo and sister Salme in Finland that they have a very hard case of Coronavirus and I am asking all of you to especially pray for Keijo and Salme Lindeman, our dear brothers and leaders in Finland.
I and all of Netivyah and the Ro’eh Israel congregation in Jerusalem are sad to inform you that our dear sister Ahuva (Lempi) Ben-Maier has died at the good old age of 98 years old.
Ahuva was a true disciple of Yeshua and a pioneer in the bringing and inspiring young Christians in Finland to come and volunteer in Kibbutz farms in the outskirts of Jerusalem and in the lower Galilee. Many thousands of Finnish Christians were inspired to come and work and build the land of Israel and also learned Hebrew.
May Ahuva Ben-Maier’s memory be a blessing to all!
Please keep praying for Marcia my wife and for me. We are both feeling our age and with the coronavirus we are both in need of your prayers, but especially Marcia needs God’s merciful hand to keep her memory and daily activities functioning without forgetting important things that she needs to do for herself and at home. There are some medical tests that she has to do soon, CT and MRI and other tests to understand better what the causes of some of Marcia’s problems are.
Please continue to keep Brother Davidson, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in your prayers. He is the leader of a sister community in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is very sick with Coronavirus. He is diabetic and has some other preconditions that complicate things. Pray for Davidson and for Renata his dear wife.
The situation of our older sisters who are true heroes in the service of the Lord – Leah, Ahuva, and Ilana need our prayers. I am asking you join us all in praying for our older sisters. They are true heroes of faith, and their love for the Lord, and for His people, is without limit.
There is a clear command in the word of God to take care of the widows and orphans. This command appears in the Torah, the prophets, the writings, and in the New Testament - even several times.
Anyone who is getting old or has older family members must know that the fellowship of the saints and of our spiritual family can be trusted to keep this commandment and to take care of our older generation of people who have given their all during their younger years, and it is the responsibility of the saints to take care of their elderly.
Please consider as a church or as individuals to add something extra for the elderly saints of Jerusalem.
Zacharias Waldner from Canada who is paraplegic has a problem with sores and is asking for our prayers. Please add Zacharias to your prayer list.
I also received a request to pray for a young brother, Raymond Jimenez, who has the coronavirus and needs God’s blessing for recovering and returning back to his normal life.
We received a prayer request from a dear sister, Livia Schnell Nothen, who has been with us in Portugal and has stood with our brothers in Brazil and with us on the issue of the Anussim (the “coerced ones”, descendants of 15th century Spanish and Portuguese Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism and who continued to secretly practice their Judaism - getting the State of Israel to accept them as Jews under the Law of Return has been an issue) and their plight…
Please keep brother Philip Marc in your prayers. Philip is a young man with very serious cancer. He is a truth seeker and a faithful disciple of Yeshua who loves God and who is a lover of Israel. Philip lives far from Israel in a country that we can’t travel to, but Philip's heart is with us, and with God’s people.
Pray for Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is the father of a dear sister in Brazil.
The situation in Israel is not getting better yet! Israel is still under closure with limited mobility and most of the economy and businesses are closed, at least for now. The economy is devastated.
It is a good work to pray for people whom you don’t know personally and to pray for the world to recover and bring an end to this horrible pandemic called the coronavirus. Corona is a crown, and I am not sure on the head of which king this virus is a crown.
1. Please keep doing intercessory prayer for the whole world, concentrate on your country, but do not forget Israel.
2. There is a blessing from God to those who pray for other brothers and sisters and intercede through the Holy Spirit for the body of the Messiah.
3. It might seem like a small thing for us to pray a few minutes for brothers and sisters around the world, but in the kingdom and in the Heavens, attention is paid by the authorities of goodness to the caring and sincere intercessory prayer that conforms and confirms that the body of the Messiah Yeshua is truly one body.
a. Pray for all the former and present people involved in Korean Israel Bible Instruction Ministry.
b. Pray for the former board members of KIBI and that those who need to repent and restore their relationship, receive power from on high, to do so.
c. Pray for those members and academics that are and were a part of the Israel Forum.
d. Pray for those who have prayed so faithfully for the salvation of Israel and the peace in Israel.
e. Pray for the spiritual and physical health of all those in Korea who are still praying for the body of the Messiah in Israel and specifically praying and supporting Netivyah. Bless them and inspire them and pray that they be filled with faith, hope and love for the Lord and for Israel.
Let us all pray and encourage our spiritual leaders to lead and to point us toward repentance and to confession of our sins and weaknesses, so that the Lord will lift this coronavirus from off of this earth and we will remember the Lord and seek to walk in His paths of righteousness and truth.
Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her situation as does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson who are also staying at home and working from home during this time.
We are praying for a three-year-old little girl who is ill with a rare illness and cancer. She lives with her family in California and we need to pray for her and her family to receive attention and healing from the Lord and to be allowed to grow up to serve His kingdom.
I am adding a new prayer request from a leader of God’s people in India, Joy Mathew, and Pastor Isaac from the city of Chennai. Pastor Isaac is suffering from kidney problems and is on dialysis a few times each week. Please lift brother Isaac in your prayers.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Brazil is one of the countries with a remarkably high count of sick and dead people from the coronavirus. We have brothers and sisters all around Brazil, and I ask you to just say a prayer for divine protection and for wisdom to keep them clear from this deadly plague.
Also include in your prayers Caique de Oliveira Becker. These are people in Brazil who need the Lord’s special grace for healing.
Please do not forget to lift up in prayer the young man Paulo and the Amaral family, in Brazil.

Keep Ruby Little in your prayers, our dear sister from Oklahoma City. Ruby went through a new set of tests for her cancer and the tests returned with not such a good news. Ruby is in need of our prayers. Pray for God to heal Ruby from her cancer that after two years of treatments not much improvement. Ruby needs a miracle and strength and courage to deal with this challenge in the best way that will give her a better quality of life than chemotherapy, for divine intervention, a miracle of healing.

From Hong Kong, remember all of Hong Kong during these days of several different kinds of viruses and the coronavirus. Remember Tony and Louisa Tam, and our brothers and sisters at the 611 Church, and the other churches who love God and love Israel in that great city.
Just a word of grace before the mercy seat of the Almighty will be heard in favor of these brothers and Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy Abu-Eid and his family, Keijo and Salme our dear brothers in Finland, Tim Tucker, Satu-Maria, Sinni Tuuli. Our other brothers and sisters in Finland who need our prayers, Evelina, and Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia and Victor, and Aaron Tani, and Hillel and his wife.
Around the whole world, we pray for Zhou Wenrian, Abe family, Toru, Takeo Sensei, Daisuke Sensei, Tomoko San, Yumi, George, Louisa, and Tony and sister Katherine Shang all in Hong Kong.
I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in Heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.
Please add to your prayers the family of Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy their son. Pray for Mahmoud’s sister who is also very ill.

By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters, and whom you do not know personally, you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.” “Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do. Your sincere prayers for people around the world do the following things for the Kingdom, the King, and for the body of the Messiah:
1. They unite you and the body in a major transcendent bond of prayer.
2. They demonstrate the oneness of the people of God.
3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.

Ismael Alves, Asher Gabriel, M. Ahuva a dear sister from Kenya. Please keep in your prayers a dear sister who attends our congregation in Jerusalem. Her name is Hadassah and she just had cancer surgery. Pray for Hadassah L.
Pray for Israel. Businesses are closing, and bankruptcy is happening to old established companies and businesses and even our national airline is on the verge of bankruptcy. People do not have money to put food on their tables. The number of people in need of basic food is growing.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit our webpage and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system. The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel going to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail.
Pray for some dear friends, Rabbi Salt, and his family and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.
We are praying for Tali and asking you all to pray for Tali. We need to ask God to heal and bless this dear sister that is suffering both physically and materially. Tali has three teenage daughters with health problems and Tali herself has some serious health problems.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many.
I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
Please pray for a new project that we are starting in Israel in partnership with the Houses for Healing ministry from Abilene, Texas. The aim is to provide hospitality for families of critically ill patients who are hospitalized in one of Jerusalem’s hospitals and who have no means to stay in hotels while their family members are in the hospitals.
This is a critical need especially in these days when there are hundreds of men and women who are in the Coronavirus ICU units for weeks and even months. We need your prayer and your help to make this a meaningful and significant blessing both to the sick and to their families.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children.
Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
