예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2022년 11월 24일

토라 읽기는 신약성경에서 두루 볼 수 있고 일찍이 다른 유대 랍비 문헌에도 기록되어 있습니다. 다음은 신약성경에 나타난 안식일에 회당에서 토라(율법)와 선지서에서 말씀을 읽은 관습에 관한 증거를 모아놓은 말씀들입니다:
“예수께서 온 갈릴리에 두루 다니사 그들의 회당에서 가르치시며 천국 복음을 전파하시며 백성 중의 모든 병과 모든 약한 것을 고치시니” — 마태복음 4:23 “예수께서 모든 도시와 마을에 두루 다니사 그들의 회당에서 가르치시며 천국 복음을 전파하시며 모든 병과 모든 약한 것을 고치시니라” — 마태복음 9:35 “고향으로 돌아가사 그들의 회당에서 가르치시니 그들이 놀라 이르되 이 사람의 이 지혜와 이런 능력이 어디서 났느냐” — 마태복음 13:54 “그들이 가버나움에 들어가니라 예수께서 곧 안식일에 회당에 들어가 가르치시매” — 마가복음 1:21 “이에 온 갈릴리에 다니시며 그들의 여러 회당에서 전도하시고 또 귀신들을 내쫓으시더라” — 마가복음 1:39 “안식일이 되어 회당에서 가르치시니 많은 사람이 듣고 놀라 이르되 이 사람이 어디서 이런 것을 얻었느냐 이 사람이 받은 지혜와 그 손으로 이루어지는 이런 권능이 어찌됨이냐” — 마가복음 6:2 “친히 그 여러 회당에서 가르치시매 뭇 사람에게 칭송을 받으시더라 예수께서 그 자라나신 곳 나사렛에 이르사 안식일에 늘 하시던 대로 회당에 들어가사 성경을 읽으려고 서시매 … 책을 덮어 그 맡은 자에게 주시고 앉으시니 회당에 있는 자들이 다 주목하여 보더라” — 누가복음 4:15,16,20 “즉시로 각 회당에서 예수가 하나님의 아들이심을 전파하니” — 사도행전 9:20 “그들은 버가에서 더 나아가 비시디아 안디옥에 이르러 안식일에 회당에 들어가 앉으니라 율법과 선지자의 글을 읽은 후에 회당장들이 사람을 보내어 물어 이르되 형제들아 만일 백성을 권할 말이 있거든 말하라 하니” — 사도행전 13:14,15 “이는 예로부터 각 성에서 모세를 전하는 자가 있어 안식일마다 회당에서 그 글을 읽음이라 하더라” — 사도행전 15:21 성경에 “교회”라는 단어는 74회 나오고, “회당”이라는 단어는 67회 나옵니다. 이 회수 대부분에 회당은 매우 긍정적으로 나옵니다. 예슈아께서도 안식일마다 회당에 가셨고, 자주 말씀을 강론하도록 초청받았습니다. 여기에는 자연스럽게 토라 두루마리에서 말씀을 읽는 일이 있게 되는데요, 예슈아께는 포켓 성경이나, 한두 개 버전이나 다른 언어로 된 성경이 탑재된 아이폰이나 아이패드가 없었으니까요. 유일한 성경은 필사한 두루마리였을 것인데요, 이 두루마리는 토라, 즉 서기관이 이것만 필사하는 데 약 1년이 걸리는 모세오경일 것입니다. 이번 안식일 토라 포션은 “톨돝” (“역사” 또는 “족보”)라고 합니다. 이스라엘에 있던 회당에서는 선지자의 글에서도 말씀을 읽은 증거도 있습니다. 누가복음의 예슈아께서 이사야 61장 첫 몇 구절을 읽으시는 장면은 흥미롭습니다. 선지서에서 읽은 이 부분은 레위기에서 희년에 대해 읽는 부분과 연관되어 있습니다. 우리가 1세기 바리새인들이 회당에서 말씀을 읽는 일정표를 본다면, 우리는 일년 중 어느 때에 예슈아께서 태어나셨을지 알 수 있을 것입니다. 왜냐하면 선지서에서 읽는 부분(하프타라)은 보통 그 주에 생일이 있는 사람에게 읽는 영예를 주기 때문입니다. 이사야 61장 부분의 흥미로운 점은 저자가 이 본문을 1인칭 단수 시점으로 썼다는 것입니다. 이 때문에 예슈아께서 이 본문이 예슈아 자신을 가리키는 것이라고 말씀하신 것이 타당한 것입니다. 이것은 나사렛 사람들의 분노를 일으켰습니다. 나사렛은 예슈아 당시 종파주의적인 마을이었던 것 같습니다. 그들은 예슈아께서 이사야 선지자가 그분에 대해 말하고 있는 것이라고 주장했다는 이유로 예슈아를 죽이고자 했을 때 매우 과격한 종교인들 같이 행동했습니다. 제가 말하고자 하는 요점은 이스라엘과 소아시아와 그리스(베레아) 등의 회당에서 두루 토라와 선지서를 공중 낭독하는 것이 이미 이스라엘 땅과 디아스포라 유대인들 사이에서 확립된 관습이며 관행이었다는 것입니다. 오늘날 교회에서는 하나님의 말씀을 아주 적게 읽습니다. 예배 중 주된 부분은 세일즈맨(목사)에게 주어지고 상품에게 주어지지 않습니다. 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 하나님의 말씀은 우리가 우리 형제자매에게 공급해야 하는 상품입니다. 이것은 모든 유대인 회당에서 일어나는 일입니다. 예배의 주된 부분은 토라와 선지서에게 말씀을 읽는 것이고, 보통 강론(설교)의 주제는 히브리어로 공중 낭독한 이 본문 말씀을 해설하는 것입니다. 우리가 소돔 북부 사해 근교 쿰란에서 발견된 사해 사본을 공개한 이후 시대에 살고 있는 것은 행운입니다. 사해 사본을 고이 간직했던 보고에서는 가죽에 쓴 이사야서 사본도 있었는데요, 이것은 예슈아께서 나사렛 회당에서 읽으셨을 두루마리와 같은 형태의 두루마리입니다. 톨돝 토라 포션은 창세기 25:19~28:9이고, 선지서에서 읽는 부분은 말라기 1:1-2:7, 신약성경에서 읽는 말씀은 마태복음 10:21-28입니다. 이번 토라 포션 톨돝에서 주된 부분이자 가장 중요한 부분은 아브라함과 사라의 아들 이삭의 이야기입니다. 고대 사회에서 40세까지 결혼하지 않는 것은 아주 드문 일이지만, 이삭이 그랬던 이유는 사라가 이스마엘과 그의 어미 하갈을 그들 중에서 멀리 쫓아내야 한다고 주장한 이유이기도 했습니다. 이스마엘은 이삭의 남성성을 훼손하고자 했습니다. 저는 지난 주에 하나님의 말씀에서 증거를 들어 이것에 대해 썼습니다. 지금 이삭은 40세이고 리브가는 아주 어려, 이삭보다 약 스무 살 가량 어립니다. 이것만으로도 리브가의 행동과 이삭을 휘두를 수 있었던 것, 특히 두 아들 에서와 야곱이 성년이 될 때 이삭을 이겨 휘두른 것을 잘 설명해 줍니다. 에서와 야곱의 경쟁이 최고조에 이르렀을 때 이삭은 70세가 넘었을 때였을 것입니다. 저는 죽 한 그릇에 에서의 장자권을 산 것이 일부 자기 의가 강한 성향의 형제자매들에게는 나쁘게 보일 수 있다는 것을 압니다. 그렇지만 저는 전 세계를 몇 차례 돌면서 제일 유명한 목사와 장로들 중에 몇 사람에게서 거래는 거래고 예수님은 예수님이라는 태도를 보고 알게 되었습니다! 야곱은 유능한 현대적 사업가였고 그에게는 상품이 있었습니다. 그의 상품은 수요가 있었고, 시장에서 독특한 것이었습니다. 야곱이 요리한 그 붉은 죽을 사려고 기꺼이 값을 지불하고자 하는 고객이 있었습니다. 그러니까 수요와 공급 법칙이 작용하는 자유 시장이 작용할 기회, 즉 파는 사람과 사는 사람 양측 모두를 만족시키도록 괜찮은 거래가 일어날 기회가 있었던 것입니다. 이삭의 아내이며 이 두 아들 에서와 야곱의 어머니인 리브가는 이 두 아들 사이의 브로커, “중개인”이었습니다. 제 마음에 언제나 생기는 의문은 리브가는 왜 에서보다 야곱을 더 걱정했을까? 입니다. 이 의문에 대한 유대 랍비들의 대답은 간단합니다: 리브가가 여선지자였기에, 에서가 그의 아우 야곱을 죽이려는 마음을 먹은 것이 리브가에게 계시되었고, 이 때문에 이 두 아들의 어머니인 그녀는 육체적으로 더 약한 아들인 야곱에 대해 더 걱정했다는 것입니다. 그녀는 외향적이고 사냥꾼인 에서가 물리적인 세계에서 자기 자신을 잘 돌볼 수 있을 것이라는 것을 알았습니다. 그녀는 자기 장막 안에 앉아 철학적 사상을 묵상하고 그의 형 에서와 혹은 어쩌면 가나안 상인들이나 헷 족속 상인들과 더 많은 거래를 할 기회를 셈하고 있는 이 야곱이 더 걱정스러웠을 것입니다. 이것 역시 리브가가 야곱을 메소포타미아의 그의 오빠 라반에게 보낸 이유이기도 합니다: 이삭이 죽은 후 야곱을 죽이려는 에서의 계획에서 야곱을 보호하기 위해서 말이지요. 저에게 흥미로운 점은 에서가 아버지 이삭을 존중하여 야곱을 죽임으로써 아버지에게 비통과 슬픔을 주고 싶어하지 않았다는 것입니다. 에서의 이러한 사려는 고결할 뿐만 아니라, 저의 아랍인 믿음의 형제자매들에 대한 저의 우정과 이해에 있어서도 흥미로운 점입니다. 저는 예루살렘 지역과 마믈레-롯 지역에서 아랍인 몇 가족에게 다가가 말씀을 가르치고 양육할 행운이 있었습니다. 저는 팔레스타인 아랍인 형제자매들을 제자로 삼고 양육할 수 있는 이러한 기회와 특권에 대해 주님께 얼마나 감사하는지 이루다 말하지 못할 것입니다. 제가 복음을 전하고 말씀을 가르쳐 제자로 삼는 특권과 기회가 있었던 아랍인들은 거의 다 제게, 그리고 제가 믿기로는 주님께도, 이 지구상의 다른 사람들만큼 소중하고 중요합니다. 이 이야기에서 좋은 소식은 주님께서 친히 이 두 형제와 그들의 가족의 정의와 공정과 미래를 조정해주셨다는 것입니다. 야곱도 아들이 열두 명이었고, 에서도 아들이 열두 명이었습니다. 야곱은 재산과 힘이 커졌고 에서도 재산과 힘이 커졌습니다. 하나님께서는 친히 이 두 형제가 크게 형통하고 성공적인 삶을 영위하고, 이삭의 축복이 야곱에게도 에서에게도 이루어지도록 하셨습니다. 야곱이 많은 것을 얻는 동안, 에서도 아무 것도 잃지 않았습니다. 저는 이스마엘과 그의 후손도 포함시키고 싶습니다. 이스마엘 진영은 이스라엘 자손을 그들의 장막에 환영할 때마다 축복받았습니다. 팔레스타인 아랍인들보다 더 유복하고 더 부유한 삶을 영위하고 더 많이 교육받고 전문직도 더 많고 신분 상승이 더 가능한 아랍인들은 없습니다. 에서의 후손과 이스마엘의 후손이 야곱의 후손과 화평하고 연합하고 모두 아브라함의 후손이라는 것을 이해할 때, 중동과, 그리고 동쪽으로 요르단강과 서쪽으로 지중해를 두고 있는 이 중간 지대의 모든 주민은 평화와 형통으로 휩싸이게 될 것입니다. 이번 안식일에 선지서에서 읽는 말씀은 말라기 1:1~2:7입니다. 말라기에서 읽는 이 말씀은 읽기 힘든 말씀인데요, 모든 측이 능욕 때문에 비난받기 때문입니다. 심지어 거룩과 자애의 귀감이어야 할 제사장들과 레위인들조차 부패하여 주님의 이름을 더럽히고 있었습니다. 결국, 아브라함의 후손들과 이웃 민족들 사이에 똑같이 퍼지는, 하나님의 사랑과 정의, 축복과 심판의 위대한 균형자는 주님의 승리가 되고, 아비들과 자녀 사이의 평화가 될 것입니다. 그리고 성경 중에서 이상한 선지자 중 한 명인 엘리야 선지자가 와서 아비들과 자녀 사이에 화평을 이룰 것입니다. 이상한 점은 우리가 엘리야의 가족, 그의 고향, 그의 아버지의 이름, 또는 엘리야의 출신이나 그의 지파에 대해서 아무 것도 모른다는 것입니다. 그러나 우리는 기손강에서 바알 선지자 450명을 죽인 이 선지자가 결국에 아비들과 자녀 사이에 큰 화평을 이루는 사람이 될 것이라는 것을 압니다. 그리고 저는 형제들 간의 화평이 이루어져 형제의 화평이 다스리게 되는 것도 바랍니다! 평화의 왕께서 영원히 그분의 보좌에 앉으실 것입니다!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – November 24, 2022

The reading of the Torah is commanded in the New Testament and recorded as early as any other rabbinical Jewish document. Here is a collection of the evidence from the New Testament of the practice to read from the Torah and from the prophets on the Sabbath day in the synagogues:
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.” — Matthew 4:23 [NKJV] “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” — Matthew 9:35 [NKJV] “When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, ‘Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?’” — Matthew 13:54 [NKJV] “Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught.” — Mark 1:21 [NKJV] “And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.” — Mark 1:39 [NKJV] “And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, ‘Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!’” — Mark 6:2 [NKJV] “And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.” — Luke 4:15,16,20 [NKJV] “Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.” — Acts 9:20 [NKJV] “But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down. And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, ‘Men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.’” — Acts 13:14,15 [NKJV] “For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” — Acts 15:21 [NKJV] The word “church” appears in the Bible 74 times, and the word “synagogue” appears in the Bible 67 times. Most of these 74 times the synagogue appears in a very positive way, Yeshua goes to the synagogues on the Sabbath days, and oftentimes He is invited to teach, which would naturally include reading from the Torah scroll, because Yeshua didn’t have a pocket Bible, or an iPhone or iPad with the biblical text in one or two different versions and languages. The only available text of the Bible would be a handwritten scroll, copied by a scribe that would take about a year’s work to copy just the five books of Moses: the Torah. This Sabbath the reading of the Torah is called “Toldot” (“history” or “genealogy”). There is also evidence that in the synagogues in the land of Israel they also read from the prophets. It is interesting in Luke that Yeshua was reading from the scroll of Isaiah, chapter 61; the first verses. This portion of the reading from the prophets is read in conjunction with the reading from Leviticus on the Jubilee year. If we had the schedule of reading in the synagogues of the Pharisees in the First Century we might be able to discover about what time of the year Yeshua was born, because reading from the prophets (the Haftarah) was normally given to honor someone maybe on his birthday. The interesting thing in this reading from Isaiah 61 is that the writer writes this text from Isaiah 61 in first person singular. This is why it was legitimate for Yeshua to state that this text is a reference to Himself. This angered the people of Nazareth. Nazareth might have been a sectarian village in the time of Yeshua, and they acted in a radical sectarian way when they wanted to kill Yeshua for claiming that the prophet Isaiah was talking about was Him in person. My point is that reading of the Torah and the prophets in public in the synagogues around Israel, and Asia Minor and Greece (Berea), was already a well-established custom and practice both in the land of Israel and among the Diaspora Jews… Today in churches there is very little reading in God’s word, the main part of the service is given to the salesman (the pastor) and not to the product. The word of God from Genesis to Revelation is the product that we ought to supply to our brothers and sisters, and this is what happens in every Jewish synagogue. The main part of the service is the reading from the Torah and from the prophets and that is normally what the teaching (sermon) is about, an exegesis of the texts that were read in public in the Hebrew language. We are fortunate that we live after the discovery and publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls from Qumran, next to the Dead Sea north of Sodom. In the treasures of the Dead Sea Scrolls there was a full copy written on leather of the book of Isaiah, the same type scroll as the one that Yeshua would have been reading from in the synagogue in Nazareth. The Torah portion of Toldot is found in Genesis 25:19-28:9, and from the prophets the reading is from Malachi 1:1-2:7, and from the New Testament we read from Matthew 10:21-28. The main and most important part of our Torah portion Toldot is story of Isaac, Abraham and Sarah’s son, who was married at the age of 40. Not being married until the age of 40 was very unusual in the ancient world, but the reason for Isaac’s situation was also the reason why Sarah insisted to cast out Ishmael and Hagar his mother away from their midst. Ishmael tried to destroy Isaac’s manhood, and I wrote about this last week with proof from God’s word. Now Isaac is 40 years old and Rebecca is very young, about 20 years younger than Isaac, and this alone gives me a good explanation of Rebecca’s behavior and dominion over Isaac, especially as the boys, Esau and Jacob, were entering their adulthood. Isaac would have been well over 70 years old when the competition between Esau and Jacob was at the highest level. I realize that the purchase of Esau’s inheritance in an exchange for bowl of soup might look bad to some self-righteously inclined brothers or sisters, but I have been around the world a few times and have seen and learned from some of the most famous pastors and elders that business is business and Jesus is Jesus! Jacob was a good modern businessman and he had a product. His product was in demand, and it was unique in the market place. There was a client that was willing to pay the price of the red, red soup that Jacob was cooking, and there was an opportunity to exercise free market, by supply and demand rules, and a good business deal was carried out to the satisfaction of both sides: the seller and the buyer. Rebecca, the wife of Isaac and the mother of both boys, Esau and Jacob, was the broker and the middle “man” between both of her sons. The question always comes up in my mind, why did Rebecca worry about Jacob more than about Esau? The rabbinical Jewish answer to this question is simple: Rebecca was a prophetess, and the intention of Esau’s heart to kill his brother Jacob was revealed to Rebecca, and for this reason she, as the mother of both boys, was more worried about the physically more timid and weaker boy, Jacob. She knew that Esau, the outdoor’s man and hunter, could take good care of himself in this physical world. She might have worried about this Jacob who is sitting in his tent, contemplating philosophical ideas and calculating more opportunities to do more business deals with his older brother Esau, or maybe with some Canaanite or Hittite merchants. This is also the reason why Rebecca is sending Jacob to her brother Laban in Mesopotamia: in order to protect him from his brother Esau’s plan to kill him after Isaac’s death. It is interesting to me that Esau honored his father Isaac, and didn’t want to cause grief and sorrow to his father by killing his brother Jacob. This consideration of Esau is not only nobel, but also very interesting in my own friendship and understanding of my Arab brothers and sisters in the faith. I have had the good fortune to teach and educate and reach several Arab families both from the Jerusalem area and from Ramle-Lod area. I can’t say enough of the amount of gratitude that I have to the Lord for this opportunity and privilege to disciple and nourish brothers and sisters who are Palestinian Arabs. Almost all the Arabs that I had the privilege and opportunity to evangelize, train, and disciple are as precious and as important to me, and I believe to the Lord, as any other human being on the face of this Earth. The good news of this story is that the Lord Himself brokered the justice and the fairness and the future of the two brothers and their families. Jacob had twelve sons and Esau had also twelve sons. Jacob grew with wealth and power and so did Esau grow in wealth and power. God Himself made sure that both brothers were a great success and had successful lives, and the blessings of Isaac were fulfilled for both Jacob and Esau. One gained and the other didn’t lose anything. I would include also Ishmael and his descendants, that were also blessed every time that tents of Ishmael welcomed the children of Israel in their tents. There are no Arabs that have better, richer lives, and are more educated and are more professional and more upwardly mobile than the Palestinian Arabs. When the sons of Esau and the sons of Ishmael make peace and join the sons of Jacob, and understand that we are all from the seed of Abraham — peace and prosperity will envelop the Middle East and all the inhabitants of this space between the Jordan River in the East, and the Mediterranean Sea in the West. The reading from the prophets this Shabbat is from the prophet Malachi 1:1-2:7. This reading from Malachi is a difficult reading because it has all sides condemned for abuse. Even the priests and the Levites, who should be the paragon of holiness and charity, are corrupt and dishonoring the very name of the Lord. In the end, the great equalizer of God’s love and justice, blessings and judgment, equally spread between the children of Abraham and the neighboring nations, will be the victory of the Lord, and peace between fathers and sons. And Elijah the prophet, who is one of the stranger prophets in the Bible, will come and make peace between fathers and sons. The strange thing is that we know nothing about Elijah’s family, his birth place, his father’s name, or anything much about Elijah’s origin, or even his tribe. We do know that the prophet that killed 450 prophets of Baal in the Kishon River will in the end be the great peacemaker between fathers and sons, and I also hope between brothers and brothers peace will reign! The Prince of Peace will be on His throne forever!

Sarit, a sister born in Jerusalem, over 87 years old, lives alone. Has no close family, and suffers from several old-age illnesses.
Yehuda Hochman, is a dear older brother living in the Negev desert with some illness that needs healing.
Please pray for Marcia my wife, and ask God to have mercy on Marcia and on me, and protect Marcia from Alzheimer’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis, and restore her energy. I also ask you to pray so that we can get the permits and licenses for a foreign worker to help us at home.
Pray for Alexander and Sarah, and Andrew, who were raised as believers and have left their faith behind. I pray that the Divine Shepherd will guide these members of the same family gently back to the fold, and they will find the Lord and His truth on their own, and find strength and ability to contend with life as a blessing to others!
Pray for Adam R., Adam works in Netivyah as the media director and he, like Yehuda and Daniel, has been raised in Netivyah congregation in the Galilee. Adam has lost much of his hearing as a result of a virus. Pray for Adam and his family of 8 children.
Pray for Adam’s father and mother, Barry and Dalia. They too have some health problems and challenges.
Pray for Miriam and for Hannah, her daughter. Miriam is a dear sister and has lost her husband recently. Pray for Daniel S. and his children. Our dear leader in the Ro’eh Israel congregation, Gary, and his health, and for his wife Melanie and their family.
Pray for Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy Abu-Eid and all of the family. This is a dear family of old friends that needs healing and wisdom for the children and for their work.
Please pray for the Romero family who live deep in the Negev desert. It is hot there and they are far from our congregation, we miss them, but we wish them a wonderful summer.
Please pray for Alexander West and his sister Sarah West. Alexander has a very serious case of Covid, and he has asked for prayer. This is a good thing, since Alexander has been estranged form the faith for a season. Pray also for Ronan, Alexander’s wife, who also has a challenging case of Covid.
Pray for the Ro’eh Israel congregation and the leadership of Netivyah. I have received my last check in the end of August. I am no longer employed by Netivyah. I am continuing the Lord’s work without stopping or slowing down for one minute. I need your prayers because from January I will be living on a pension. Until January, by God’s grace!

Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church, and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:
“But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. The South shall possess the mountains of Esau, And the Lowland shall possess Philistia. They shall possess the fields of Ephraim And the fields of Samaria. Benjamin shall possess Gilead. And the captives of this host of the children of Israel Shall possess the land of the Canaanites As far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Shall possess the cities of the South. Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” — Obadiah 1:17-21 [NKJV]

Fernanda Nothen Becker, our dear sister has problems with her job that cause her pressure and challenges. Pray for the social situation in Fernanda’s work to turn and her suffering to turn into joy and friendship.

Pray for Ruby Little, our dear and faithful sister who has cancer and has stopped receiving medical treatment for the cancer that she has. Please pray for Ruby that the Lord will heal and strengthen her and provide for all her needs both medically and socially.
Aaron Hook, Nancy Hook’s oldest son, needs our prayers for wisdom and healing from past issues of life. Pray for Don, Aaron’s father and Nancy’s husband. Don and Nancy are now in the USA. Keep Nancy in your prayers.
Lift for blessing and healing Jonathan B. and his wife Aviva and their new baby, his mother, and his brother Daniel. Pray for these very important men of God: Rabbi Salt, his family, and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.
Pray a blessing for a dear sister Angela Isby and her situation. Pray for Tiz H. and Lion H.
Also pray for Ilana Avramov who is married to my cousin Nissim and lives in New York City. Ilana has fallen and in now in rehab learning how to walk again. She and Nissim both need our prayers.
Joseph Mock, a young man in his 30s, a dear brother that was named after me, has leukemia in an advanced stage. He is in the hospital and needs our urgent prayers. Joseph Mock is the son of Steve Mock, who is also one of the faithful disciples of Yeshua who became a believer in the early years of Netivyah.
Steve Mock is also in need of our prayers. He had a massive stroke and now he cannot speak, and has other limitations. Please keep Steve Mock also in your prayers, and pray for his wife Josse for strength and blessings and good health.
Pray for three women of God in Canada who need healing, Lynda, Sandy and Joanne.
I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit here do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Please pray for Netivyah and for the good work that Netivyah is doing in Israel and around the world.
We need more workers because of the challenges and needs and opportunities to bless the King Yeshua and His Kingdom down here on Earth and bless the poor people of Jerusalem and produce more materials, books, and magazines.
We ask you to join us in prayer that the right young people, talented and anointed by the Spirit of God will come and work with us, and the provision to pay the Netivyah workers a fair and just payment.
