예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2021년 2월 11일

이번 안식일 토라 포션은 ‘파라샷 미쉬파팀’, 출애굽기 21:1~24:18이며, 선지서에서는 이사야 66:1-24, 복음서에서는 마태복음 26:20-30을 읽습니다. 매주 성경말씀을 체계적으로 읽는 것은 우리 삶에 하나님의 말씀을 주입하고 하나님을 더 잘 알고 이해할 수 있는 유일한 방법입니다.
이번 토라 포션은 시내산에서 토라를 주신 일 다음에 오는 것으로, 산 아래에 모인 모든 백성이 듣는 가운데 십계명을 주신 사건입니다. 애굽을 탈출할 때 이스라엘에 합류한 각 민족 혹은 족속은 하나님께서 그들의 언어로 말씀하시는 것을 들었습니다. 이 족속과 사람들은 출애굽기 12:38에 언급된 수많은 잡족입니다: “수많은 잡족과 양과 소와 심히 많은 가축이 그들과 함께 하였으며” – 출애굽기 12:38 이 토라 포션 미쉬파팀(“판단의 법도, 법규”)은 십계명을 설명하는 것입니다. 이 율법은 사회적 정의, 히브리 종과 비-히브리 종에 대해 어떻게 행동하고 대해야 하는지, 그리고 손해(불법행위)에 관한 법, 아버지나 어머니에 불순종하는 자식에 관한 법, 분쟁의 당사자가 아닌 제3자에 대한 신체 상해에 관한 법 등을 다룹니다. 오늘날에도 아주 중요한 이 모든 율법은 벌써 주전 13세기 경 하나님께서 이스라엘 자손에게 주신 것입니다. 여기에는 이해와 설명이 필요한 아주 중요하고 흥미로운 율법이 좀 있지만, 이번 안식일에는 선지서에서 읽는 말씀, 하프타라(이것은 토라를 읽고 난 후 선지서에서 읽는 말씀을 일컫는 히브리 이름입니다. 하프타라는 아람어로 “~한 다음”이라는 뜻입니다. 혹시 알고 싶으실까 하여.)에 집중하겠습니다. 이번 주에 읽는 말씀은 이사야서 마지막장 66:1-24입니다. 제가 이사야 66장을 읽는 이 포션의 가장 중요한 부분으로 가기 전에, 저는 이사야 60장으로 가서 66장에 이르기까지 전개되는 것을 따라가 보고 싶습니다. 이사야 선지자는 60장에서 어떤 진술을 시작합니다. 이것은 역사에 걸쳐 하나님께서 우리 조상 아브라함에게 하신 약속이 이스라엘에게 이루어지게 하실 것이라는 예언과 약속으로 시작됩니다. 이사야 시대의 이스라엘은 내부적으로는 큰 문제에 대한 논쟁, 즉 엘리트 계층의 바벨론 유수와 바벨론 유수에서의 귀환, 사방으로는 적들에 둘러싸인 작은 나라였습니다. 이사야는 갑자기 예언합니다: “일어나라 빛을 발하라 이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라 보라 어둠이 땅을 덮을 것이며 캄캄함이 만민을 가리려니와 오직 여호와께서 네 위에 임하실 것이며 그의 영광이 네 위에 나타나리니 나라들은 네 빛으로, 왕들은 비치는 네 광명으로 나아오리라.” – 이사야 60:1-3 이 민족을 향한 하나님의 약속에 변화가 있습니다. 이사야서의 절반도 훨씬 넘는 분량이 그들의 죄를 책망하고 하나님께서 그들에 대해 계획하신 숙명을 이루지 못함을 비난했습니다. 그러다가 여기에서, 갑자기 민족들(이방 나라들)이 와서 이스라엘이 귀향하는 것을 도울 것이라는 큰 축복의 약속이 나옵니다. 이 경이로운 약속들은 우리가 지금 그 일부에 살고 있는 약속들입니다. 복음주의 기독교인들은 이스라엘을 옹호하며, 정치적으로도 재정적으로도 후원하며, 알리야(유대인이 디아스포라에서 하나님께서 아브라함과 그의 자손에게 영원한 유업으로 주신 땅으로 다시 돌아오는 귀환)와 관련된 많은 프로젝트를 후원하고 있습니다. 이사야 61장은 예슈아께서 나사렛의 회당에서, 아마 그분의 생일에, 읽으신 말씀입니다. 이사야 61장은 고생에서의 해방과 자유의 선포이며 희년 선포입니다: “여호와의 은혜의 해와 우리 하나님의 보복의 날을 선포하여 모든 슬픈 자를 위로하되 무릇 시온에서 슬퍼하는 자에게 화관을 주어 그 재를 대신하며 기쁨의 기름으로 그 슬픔을 대신하며 찬송의 옷으로 그 근심을 대신하시고 그들이 의의 나무 곧 여호와께서 심으신 그 영광을 나타낼 자라 일컬음을 받게 하려 하심이라.” – 이사야 61:2,3 이사야서의 마지막 장들은 지금 이스라엘에서 일어나고 있는 일과 이스라엘에 직접적으로 관련되어 있는 어마어마한 의미가 있는데요, 이는 마지막 때와, 이스라엘뿐만 아니라 열방과 그들의 전능하신 하나님 온 우주의 창조주와의 관계를 바꿀 미래 세계의 전개와 관련되어 있기 때문입니다. 다음은 우리 태양계에 일어날 우주적 변화의 단지 한 예입니다: “다시는 낮에 해가 네 빛이 되지 아니하며 달도 네게 빛을 비추지 않을 것이요 오직 여호와가 네게 영원한 빛이 되며 네 하나님이 네 영광이 되리니 다시는 네 해가 지지 아니하며 네 달이 물러가지 아니할 것은 여호와가 네 영원한 빛이 되고 네 슬픔의 날이 끝날 것임이라 네 백성이 다 의롭게 되어 영원히 땅을 차지하리니 그들은 내가 심은 가지요 내가 손으로 만든 것으로서 나의 영광을 나타낼 것인즉” – 이사야 60:19-21 이사야 62장은 주님을 아는 세계 열방이 이스라엘과 유대민족과 이스라엘의 주님과 예루살렘과 함께 하여 안일하고 죄를 회개하지 않은 세월에 대하여 예루살렘과 이스라엘의 변호와 위로와 위안과 재건 준비 과정에 동참하고 동역하라는 초대입니다: “나는 시온의 의가 빛 같이, 예루살렘의 구원이 횃불 같이 나타나도록 시온을 위하여 잠잠하지 아니하며 예루살렘을 위하여 쉬지 아니할 것인즉 이방 나라들이 네 공의를, 뭇 왕이 다 네 영광을 볼 것이요 너는 여호와의 입으로 정하실 새 이름으로 일컬음이 될 것이며” – 이사야 62:1,2 로마서 11:25-26에서 사도 바울은 이방인의 때가 차면 온 이스라엘이 구원받을 것이라고 약속합니다. 이사야 66장은 역사의 마지막 날들의 최종 로드맵입니다: 예루살렘은 열방의 어머니이며 모든 민족의 위로가 됩니다. “예루살렘을 사랑하는 자들이여 다 그 성읍과 함께 기뻐하라 다 그 성읍과 함께 즐거워하라 그 성을 위하여 슬퍼하는 자들이여 다 그 성의 기쁨으로 말미암아 그 성과 함께 기뻐하라 너희가 젖을 빠는 것 같이 그 위로하는 품에서 만족하겠고 젖을 넉넉히 빤 것 같이 그 영광의 풍성함으로 말미암아 즐거워하리라 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 그에게 평강을 강 같이, 그에게 뭇 나라의 영광을 넘치는 시내 같이 주리니 너희가 그 성읍의 젖을 빨 것이며 너희가 옆에 안기며 그 무릎에서 놀 것이라 어머니가 자식을 위로함 같이 내가 너희를 위로할 것인즉 너희가 예루살렘에서 위로를 받으리니 너희가 이를 보고 마음이 기뻐서 너희 뼈가 연한 풀의 무성함 같으리라 여호와의 손은 그의 종들에게 나타나겠고 그의 진노는 그의 원수에게 더하리라 보라 여호와께서 불에 둘러싸여 강림하시리니 그의 수레들은 회오리바람 같으리로다 그가 혁혁한 위세로 노여움을 나타내시며 맹렬한 화염으로 책망하실 것이라.” – 이사야 66:10-15 대체로 대부분의 기독교인들은 이사야 마지막 부분의 이 말씀을 무시해왔습니다. 그러나 하나님의 이 말씀은 우리를 위한 것이며 우리와 함께 하는 말씀으로, 우리는 하나님의 이 말씀 안에 간직된 아주 많은 선과 격려를 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 예슈아께서 이사야의 바로 그 말의 성취가 예슈아께 적용되는 이사야 61:1-3을 나사렛 회당에서 읽으신 것은 우연이 아닙니다. 이사야서 끝 부분의 경이로운 점은 이 새 예루살렘 약속에 있어서 이스라엘 사람과 이방인 사이에 완전한 동등함입니다. 저는 여러분이 이사야서 끝 부분의 이 말씀들을 읽고 그것을 생각하며 하나님의 이 약속들이 우리의 미래, 온 세상의 미래인 것을 상상해보도록 권해드리고 싶습니다. 저는 그 방법이나 그 때는 모르지만, 제가 분명히 아는 것은 하나님께서 약속하신 모든 세세한 것이 진짜 역사적 현실이 될 것이라는 것입니다. 저는 이사야서 끝 부분의 하나님의 이 말씀으로 고무됩니다. 저는 여러분이 직접 60장부터 66장의 이 말씀들을 모두 읽은 후에 여러분도 소망이 충만해지고 용기가 북돋아지고 또한 여러분으로 하여금 우리 주님께 대한 믿음과 헌신이 커지도록 동기 부여하는 질문들이 많아지기를 바랍니다!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – February 11, 2021

The reading this next Shabbat is from the Torah portion (Parashat) Mishpatim, Exodus 21:1 - 24:18, from the prophets: Isaiah 66:1-24, the Gospels: Matthew 26:20-30. Reading the biblical text in a systematic way every week is the only way to infuse our life with God’s word and get to know and understand God better.
The Torah Portion follows the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, and the presentation of the Ten Commandments that were heard by all the people gathered under the mountain, and each nation or tribe that had joined together with Israel in this Exodus from Egypt heard God speak in their own language. These tribes and people are the so-called mixed multitude mentioned in Exodus 12:38: “A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock.” – Exodus 12:38 [NKJV] The Torah portion Mishpatim (“judgments”), is an explanation of the Ten Commandments. The laws that deal with social justice, how to behave toward and treat Hebrew slaves, and non-Hebrew slaves, along with laws regarding damages (torts), laws with regard to a child that is disobedient to a father or his mother, and laws of bodily injury to a third party that is not a part of a conflict. All these laws that are so important even today, were already given by God to the children of Israel around the 13th century BCE. There are some very important and interesting laws here that need to be understood and explained, but this Shabbat we will focus on the reading from the prophets, the Haftarah. (That is, the Hebrew name for the reading from the prophets after the reading from the Torah. Haftarah is an Aramaic word meaning “after,” dessert if you wish.) The reading this week is from the last chapter of the prophet Isaiah, chapter 66:1-24. Before I get into the highlights of this portion of the reading from Isaiah 66, I would like to go back to Isaiah chapter 60 and follow the developments that build up to chapter 66. The prophet Isaiah is making a case starting in chapter 60. It starts with predictions and promises that God, through history will bring Israel to the fulfillment of the promises that He made to Abraham our father. During the time of Isaiah, Israel is a small country contending with big problems from inside and the exile of the elite class to the nation of Babylon, and the return from exile, and is surrounded by enemies on all sides. Suddenly Isaiah prophecies: “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.” – Isaiah 60:1-3 [NKJV] There is a change in the promises of God toward this nation that cover far more than half of the book of Isaiah in which they are condemned and criticized for failing to fulfill the destiny that God had designed for them. Then here, suddenly appear great promises of blessings, the nations (the Gentiles) will come and help Israel return home. These wonderful promises are part of what we are actually living right now. Evangelical Christians are standing up for Israel, supporting Israel both politically and financially, and supporting many projects that involve Aaliyah (the return of the Jewish people from exile back to the land given by God to Abraham and his seed as an everlasting inheritance). Isaiah Chapter 61 is the chapter that Yeshua is reading from in the synagogue in Nazareth, probably on His birthday. Isaiah chapter 61 proclaiming freedom and release from the burden and a proclamation of the jubilee year: “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” – Isaiah 61:2,3 [NKJV] The last chapters of Isaiah have cosmic implications that have a direct connection with what is happening in Israel and with regard to Israel as it relates to the End Time, and future world developments that will change not only Israel, but also the nations and their relationship to the almighty God and creator of our galaxy. Here is just one of the examples of the cosmic changes to our solar system: “The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Also, your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.” – Isaiah 60:19-21 [NKJV] Isaiah chapter 62 is an invitation for the nations of the world who know the Lord to participate and partner with Israel and the Jewish nation and the Land of Israel and Jerusalem in the process of rebuilding and comforting and consoling and preparing for the vindication of Jerusalem and Israel for the years of neglect and unrepented sins: “For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name.” – Isaiah 62:1,2 [NKJV] The Apostle Paul in Romans 11:25-26, promises that with the fullness of the time of the Gentiles, all Israel will be saved. Isaiah chapter 66 is the final road map of the last days of history: Jerusalem is the mother of the nations and becomes the comfort of all the nations. “‘Rejoice with Jerusalem, and rejoice with her, all you who love her; Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her; That you may feed and be satisfied with the consolation of her bosom, That you may drink deeply and be delighted With the abundance of her glory.’ For thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried and be dandled on her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.’ When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like grass; The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants, And His indignation to His enemies. For behold, the Lord will come with fire And with His chariots, like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, And His rebuke with flames of fire.” – Isaiah 66:10-15 [NKJV] In general, most Christians have ignored these texts from the end of Isaiah. However, these words of God are for us and with us, and so much good and encouragement is found and treasured in these words of God. It is not by accident that Yeshua reads from Isaiah 61:1-3 at the synagogue in Nazareth, the same text that applies to Yeshua as the fulfillment of these very words of Isaiah. The wonderful thing about the end of Isaiah is the full equality between the Israelites and the Gentiles in that promised New Jerusalem. I would like to encourage you to read these verses at the end of Isaiah and to think about them and imagine that these promises of God are our future, the future of the whole world. I don’t know how, and don’t know when, but I know for sure that every detail promised by God will become a true and historical reality. I am encouraged by these words of God at the end of Isaiah. I hope that after you read them all for yourselves, from Chapter 60 to 66, you too will be filled with both hope and encouragement and also with many questions that will motivate you to increase your faith and dedication toward our Lord!
Please pray a special prayer for Marcia. Tomorrow she is going to receive the corona vaccine under medical supervision because of the dangers to which she is subject. There have been several people with similar allergies that died soon after receiving the vaccination. We need your prayers for Marcia’s health in general but especially now.
Please consider helping Netivyah to continue caring and feeding the poor of Jerusalem and blessing the people of this city that need help to feed their children and families.
The Hamotzi program for feeding the needy of Jerusalem is ongoing and has not stopped during most of the coronavirus lock-down and quarantine. The number of needy people who come to receive food from our program has increased and overall need has increased.
The people that come and receive food from Netivyah are from every group of immigrants, single parents, secular, Orthodox Jews, and a several Arab families from the Old City of Jerusalem. I ask you to pray for the physical needs of these people and also for the spiritual and emotional situation of such people who are not working and are forced to stay in their homes for so many months.
Please pray for Norton Lavoratti. He needs God’s intervention in a lawsuit.
Netivyah staff and the Roeh Israel congregation in Jerusalem are sad to announce the death of Moises Cunha. Moises is one of the elders and a faithful disciple of Yeshua from Curitiba, Brazil. We grieve with the family and the congregation. Moises died from coronavirus complications.
I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit our webpage and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Pray for a very special kindergarten in Jerusalem “Little Hearts.” The director of this special kindergarten is one of our own from the congregation.
Keep praying for a dear sister, Livia Schnell Nothen. Please keep brother Philip Marc in your prayers. Pray for Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is the father of a dear sister in Brazil.
Pray for the former board members of KIBI and that those who need to repent and restore their relationship with Netivyah receive power from on high to do so. Also pray for all those wonderful dedicated brothers and sisters in Korea who stood with Israel and with Netivyah that they will revive their dedication and not forget their first love for Israel and for Netivyah.
Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her health and her situation. Our granddaughter Noaam who is a senior in high-school and working on Zoom to finish her studies. Noaam as a teenager who has been at home since March doing her tests and classes on Zoom and online, needs our prayers to finish school and have guidance and direction for her life after high school.
Our grandson Joseph also needs prayer to be able to get into college with proper scholarships. Please lift up in your prayers our son Barry and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson to be protected and spared any contact and infection from the coronavirus. Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her health is failing.
Please keep our dear sister Hadassah in your prayers, for a complete healing and recovery from cancer.
In the last months, I have been several times in the E.R. at Hadassah Hospital. Last week I had heart tests and a heart Echocardiogram under stress. The tests came out good and my heart is working well, and the issues that I have can be maintained with medication and for this I thank the Lord. Please keep me in your prayers.
I am adding a new prayer request from a leader of God’s people in India, Joy Mathew. Joy has a serious heart condition and has asked for prayer.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Brazil is one of the countries in which the coronavirus is raging. We have so many brothers and sisters in Brazil, and we need to pray for their safety and protection from this coronavirus.

Keep Ruby Little in your prayers, our dear sister from Oklahoma City, who is also battling against cancer and add to your prayers Allison Howard Williams.
Please keep praying for Samuel Lopes, a 17-year-old boy who is going through an extremely hard time.

Pray for Sister Yoko Nagumo in Japan. Sister Yoko had a stroke, and we pray that her recovery will be quick and full.
From Chennai, India, please remember Pastor Isaac. Pastor Isaac is an older man with severe kidney problems and has to have dialysis several times per week. From Hong Kong, remember all our brothers and sisters in in Hong Kong during these days of several different kinds of viruses and the coronavirus. Remember Tony and Louisa Tam, and our brothers and sisters at the 611 Church, and the other churches who love God and love Israel in that great city. Remember in your prayers the Cohen family in Hong Kong.
Just a word of grace before the mercy seat of the Almighty will be heard in favor of these brothers and Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy Abu-Eid and his family, Keijo and Salme our dear brothers in Finland, Tim Tucker, Satu-Maria, Sinni Tuuli, Anne Mirjami our dear sister and all our other brothers and sisters in Finland who need our prayers, Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia and Victor, and Aaron Tani, and Hillel and his wife.
Around the whole world, we pray for Zhou Wenrian, Abe family, Toru, Takeo Sensei, Daisuke Sensei, Tomoko San, Yumi and her father Pastor Ohara, George, and Pastor Isaac in Chennai, India, Louisa, and Tony in Hong Kong.
I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus. His name is Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is in the hospital and his condition is particularly challenging. Please join us in lifting Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias in your prayers.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in Heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.

Ahuva. Please pray for a dear brother who is well into his 90’s and lost his wife a couple of weeks ago. His name is Dov H. Please keep in your prayers a dear sister who attends our congregation in Jerusalem. Her name is Hadassah and she just had cancer surgery. Pray for Hadassah for a full recovery and remission from cancer in her body.
Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pray for some dear friends, Rabbi Salt, and his family and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
Third please pray for a new project that we are starting in Israel in partnership with the Houses for Healing ministry from Abilene, Texas.
The aim is to provide hospitality for families of critically ill patients who are hospitalized in one of Jerusalem’s hospitals and who have no means to stay in hotels while their family members are in the hospitals.
This is a critical need especially in these days when there are hundreds of men and women who are in the Coronavirus ICU units for weeks and even months.
We need your prayer and your help to make this a meaningful and significant blessing both to the sick and to their families…
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children. Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish!
