예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2020년 7월 30일

이번 안식일에 읽는 토라 포션은 신명기 3:23~7:10입니다. 선지자의 글에서 읽는 말씀은 이사야 40장입니다. 이번 안식일은 “샤밧 나하무” - 위로의 안식일이라고 부르는 특별한 안식일입니다. 이사야 40장은 이 말씀으로 시작됩니다:
“너희의 하나님이 이르시되 너희는 위로하라 내 백성을 위로하라.” – 이사야 40:1 주님께서는 이스라엘을 위로하라고 세계 열방을 초청하십니다. 토라 포션은 모세가 주님 앞에 그가 요단강을 건너 약속의 땅에 들어가는 것을 허락해 주시기를 간청하는 것으로 시작됩니다. 주님께서는 모세에게 그 땅에 들어가도록 구하는 그의 간청, 애걸, 요청, 부르짖음에 이런 말로 대답하십니다: “여호와께서 너희 때문에 내게 진노하사 내 말을 듣지 아니하시고 내게 이르시기를 그만해도 족하니 이 일로 다시 내게 말하지 말라.” – 신명기 3:26 주님께서는 출애굽기에서 모세에게 자신을 이렇게 드러내셨습니다: “…여호와라 여호와라 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하고 인자와 진실이 많은 하나님이라…” – 출애굽기 34:6,7 지금은 그분의 종 모세에게 잠잠하라, 네가 이 주제에 대해 다시 말하는 것을 듣고 싶지 않다고 말씀하십니다. 모세와 주님 사이에 이렇게 주고받은 말에서 우리는 뭘 배울 수 있을까요? 하나님의 인내에 한계가 있으며, 그분께서 직접 대면하시어 대화하시는 모세에게조차 그 대답이 아니다 너는 요단강을 건너가지 못할 것이라고 마음을 정하셨을 때는 간청도 도움이 되지 못한다는 것입니다. 저는 개인적으로 모세가 가엾습니다. 모세가 하나님께 뭔가를 애걸한 경우는 많지 않고, 모세가 유일하게 사적으로 전능자의 호의를 원한 이 마지막 요청에 대답은 “아니!”였습니다. 저는 개인적으로 이번 파라샤에서 배울 수 있는 교훈이 있습니다. 저는 뭔가를 청하는 것을 싫어하는 사람이지만 제가 하나님이나 사람들에게 뭔가를 청할 때 부정적인 대답을 받는 것이 싫습니다. “아니”라는 대답을 들으면 저는 잘 지내지 못할 것 같습니다. 이 토라 포션에서 저는 모세조차도 그토록 원했던 것을 얻지 못하고 그가 요단강을 건너 약속의 가나안땅에 들어가는 것을 허락하시지 않은 하나님의 거절을 받고 그대로 살아야만 했다는 사실에서 위로를 받습니다. 모세의 생애 끝에 모세는 아주 비극적 인물이 된 것입니다. 그는 약속에 들어가지 못합니다. 게다가 신명기 끝에서 하나님께서는 모세에게 핵폭탄을 떨어뜨리십니다. 이것은 모세가 느보산(비스가산)에 오르기 전에 하나님께서 모세에게 하신 말씀입니다: “또 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 네 조상과 함께 누우려니와 이 백성은 그 땅으로 들어가 음란히 그 땅의 이방 신들을 따르며 일어날 것이요 나를 버리고 내가 그들과 맺은 언약을 어길 것이라.” – 신명기 31:16 하나님께서는 모세가 죽기 직전에 얼마나 끔찍한 소식을 전하신 것입니까! 간단히 말해서 하나님께서는 모세에게 이 광야 40년 동안 네가 키운 이 백성이 음란히 이방 신들을 따를 것이며 나는 그들에게서 내 얼굴을 숨길 것이라고 말씀하시는 것입니다. 이것은 모세가 다음 생으로 가져가야할 것일 것입니다. “내 일생은 허비된 것이었어. 나는 시내산에서 가지고 내려온 토라로 이 백성에게 영향을 미치지 못했고 내 일생은 허비되었어.” 저는 모세가 정말로 이렇게 생각했는지 여부는 모릅니다. 그러나 제가 모세 입장이었다면 저는 이렇게 생각했을 것 같습니다. 시내산에서의 화려한 토라 수여식은 이 백성의 마음을 바꾸는 데 도움이 되지 않았습니다. 그러나 여러분이 계속 읽어 내려가시면 끝은 좋습니다. 하프타라(선지자의 글에서 읽는 부분)로 제시된 이사야 40장도 아주 강력합니다. 이 장에서 하나님께서 이스라엘에 하신 약속은 너무도 크며, 3절은 세례요한을 묘사하는 데 사용되었습니다: “외치는 자의 소리여 이르되 너희는 광야에서 여호와의 길을 예비하라 사막에서 우리 하나님의 대로를 평탄하게 하라 골짜기마다 돋우어지며 산마다, 언덕마다 낮아지며 고르지 아니한 곳이 평탄하게 되며 험한 곳이 평지가 될 것이요 여호와의 영광이 나타나고 모든 육체가 그것을 함께 보리라 이는 여호와의 입이 말씀하셨느니라.” – 이사야 40:3–5 저는 헨델의 메시아에 이 구절을 제시한 것을 좋아합니다. 저는 헨델의 메시아에서 이 구절을 부르는 것을 들을 때 이 말씀의 힘 때문에 종종 눈에 눈물이 맺힙니다. 특히 나치 홀로코스트 후에 이스라엘에서 살며 이스라엘 땅과 이스라엘 나라의 축복을 누리고 있는 제 세대에게, 특히 예슈아의 제자인 저에게 이것은 주님께서 이스라엘을 위로하라고 열방을 부르시는 부름입니다. 나치 홀로코스트 후에 열방이 유대인들을 위로하는 것보다 더 의미 있는 것이 무엇일까요? 이 구절을 자신들의 표어로 삼고 이스라엘에 축복이 되고 하나님께서 아브라함과 그 자손에게 영원히 주신 이 땅의 예슈아의 유대인 제자들에게도 축복이 되기 위해 자기들이 할 수 있는 것, 혹은 그 이상을 하고 있는 기독교인들이 아주 많습니다. 신약성경에서 읽도록 제안되는 성경구절은 마태복음 23:31-39입니다. 이 말씀은 다음과 같은 예슈아의 말씀으로 끝납니다. “내가 너희에게 이르노니 이제부터 너희는 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여 할 때까지 나를 보지 못하리라.” – 마태복음 23:39 이 구절은 희망과 약속의 구절입니다. 나라적으로 유대인들은 언젠가 이 구절을 말하되, 예슈아의 귀향을 환영하며 “찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여!”라고 말할 것입니다. 네티비야는 이 일이 일어나도록 51년 동안 예루살렘에서 일해오고 있습니다. 저희는 이 과정에 느리지만 확실한 진전이 있는 것을 보아왔습니다. 열방 가운데 계시는 저희 형제자매님들이신 여러분은 이스라엘에 있는 저희를 축복해 주시고 이 구절이 저희 유대민족이 예슈아를 주의 이름으로 오시는 분이며, 주님의 아들 메신저이며, 아버지와 100 퍼센트 동등한 권세를 가지신 분, 창조주이시며 구원자로 영접할 것을 말하고 있음을 기억하셔야 합니다. 아브월 9일 금식은 수요일 저녁에 시작됩니다. 개인적으로 제게 이 날은 지상의 모든 생명을 다스리시는 하나님께서 하늘에 계시다는 가장 큰 증거 중 하나입니다. 사실, 이 지구는 세상을 너무 사랑하시어 아무도 멸망하지 않고 모두 영생이 있도록 그분의 독생자를 보내신 바로 이 하나님의 다스림을 받고 있습니다. 아브월 9일 이 날짜에 일어난 사건들 목록입니다. 이런 일들이 일어나기 수백 년 전에 이스라엘 선지자들이 예언했던 이 모든 사건들이 히브리 달력의 같은 날짜에 일어날 확률이 얼마나 될지 자문해보시기 바랍니다. 제게 이것은 하나님께서 계시며 인간의 역사를 다스리신다는 것을 증명하는 것입니다. 다음은 저희 역사 중 이 날짜에 일어난 주요 사건들입니다: 1. 열두 정탐꾼들이 나쁜 보고를 가지고 돌아왔습니다. 2. 제1, 제2 성전 모두 이 날짜에 파괴되었습니다. 3. (로마에 항거한 바 코크바 전쟁 때) 베이타르 전투에서 패배했습니다. 4. 로마인들이 베이트 하밐다쉬(성전)를 갈아엎었습니다. 5. 유대인들이 영국에서 쫓겨났습니다. 6. 유대인들이 스페인에서 추방당했습니다. 7. 제1차, 제2차 세계대전 모두 이 날짜에 시작되었습니다. 각각이 한 나라에 대격변이며 끔찍한 사건인 그런 사건들이 모두 히브리 달력의 같은 날짜에 떨어질 확률이 얼마나 될까요? 거의 2,000년이라는 세월에 걸쳐 이 사건들이 모두 아브월 9일에 일어났다는 사실은 경이로운 것입니다. 하나님과 예슈아를 믿는 저의 믿음이 강해진 것은 제가 저희 역사 속에 움직이시는 주님의 손과 그분의 약속이 사람이 상상할 수 있는 가장 잔인한 방법으로 성취되는 것을 보았기 때문입니다. 이제, 저희 역사의 그런 끔찍한 장들이 끝났으니 저는 제 믿음이 더 강해졌다고 말씀드려야 할 것 같습니다. 마르시아와 제가 이탈리아 로마를 처음 방문했을 때는 1969년 6월이었습니다. 마르시아가 베리를 임신 중이어서 저희는 나폴리에서 자동차(피아트)를 사서 로마까지 몰고 갔습니다. 저희는 포로 로마노(포룸 로마눔)를 통과해 걸어가고 있었는데, 거기에 주후 70년 아브월 9일에 예루살렘을 파괴하고 성전을 불태웠던 로마 티투스 황제에게 봉헌된 개선문이 있었습니다. 저희는 티투스 개선문 (아직도 있습니다) 아래에 서서 로마 군인들이 전리품을 지고 로마 거리를 통과하여 승리의 행진을 하는 모습을 묘사한 부조를 보았습니다. 거기에는 금 메노라(등잔대)와 은 나팔과 진설병상의 형상이 있었습니다. 거기에는 의기양양한 로마군이 지고 가는 커다란 “X”가 있는 제10군단 기(旗)도 있었습니다. 예루살렘의 몰락과 이교도 로마군이 유대민족에 가한 치욕을 축하는 모습이 있었습니다. 그런데 그 형상 바로 밑에 “부끄럼을 모르는” 어떤 이스라엘인 유대인이 호텔키나 주머니칼 같은 것으로 히브리어로 “암 이스라엘 하이”라고 새겨놨는데요, “이스라엘 나라는 아직 살아있다!”는 뜻입니다. 눈물이 제 얼굴을 타고 흘러내렸습니다. 이것은 예루살렘의 몰락에 대한 슬픔의 눈물이 아니었습니다. 이것은 기쁨의 눈물이었습니다. 고대 로마는 죽은 이교도 문화의 고고학 박물관이 된 폐허 속에 누워 있으나, 유대인과 유대 나라의 왕은 살아계시며 집으로 돌아오셔서 하나님께서 아브라함과 히브리 성경의 선지자들에게 약속하신 약속들을 지키실 것입니다. 고대 로마 사람들은 벌써부터 존재하지 않고, 로마도 티투스 개선문이 세워진 이후, 그리고 예루살렘 성전에서 가져간 금이 로마 콜로세움을 짓는 비용으로 사용된 이후 적어도 열두 번 정복당하고 약탈당하고 불태워졌습니다. 그 콜로세움 역시 폐허로 관광명소가 되었을 뿐입니다. 민족적으로 저희들의 그 모든 부족함과 약점에도 불구하고 유대민족은 여전히 대체로 똑같은 민족으로, 동일한 성경을 가지고 있으며, 소망과 정죄와 위로와 심판의 말을 했던 하나님의 선지자들이 제시한 대로 미래를 향하고 있고, 이 모든 것들이 온 세상 사람들의 눈앞에 이루어지고 있습니다. 그렇습니다, 온 세상 사람들의 눈앞에 씨엔엔(CNN)이나 비비씨(BBC)나 차이나 뉴스가 보도하고, 텔레비전과 인터넷을 통해 전 세계에 알려집니다. 전 세계 모든 사람이 예슈아 시대의 고대 도시들의 유물들과, 신생국가와, 하나님께서 아브라함과 그의 자손에게 영원히 주신 그 땅의 재건을 볼 수 있습니다! 그렇습니다, 히브리 달력에서 그 날짜는 아브월 9일입니다. 이 날에 유대 민족의 상당수가 금식합니다. 오늘 매우 더운 날임에도 불구하고 사람들은 먹지도 마시지도 않으며, 우리의 사랑하는 예루살렘이 왜 주후 70년 바로 이 날에 티끌과 재가 되었는지, 왜 이 날에 적어도 열여섯 번 큰 참화와 재앙이 있었던 것인지 생각하며, 그리고 하나님께서 그분의 약속에 신실하심이 이스라엘과 온 세계에 입증된 것을 기억합니다. 그렇습니다, 하나님께서는 이스라엘을 벌하신다는 그분의 약속을 지키셨습니다. 그분께서는 저희를 저희 땅에서 내보내시고 저희에게서 그분의 얼굴을 숨기실 것이라는 약속을 지키셨고, 지금은 저희에게, 그리고 저희를 통해 온 세상에 그분의 얼굴을 드러내실 것이라는 약속을 지키고 계십니다. 그렇습니다, 저희는 죄를 지었기 때문에 깊은 슬픔을 겪은 것이며, 주님께서 저희를 벌하셨습니다! 그러나 저희는 큰 기쁨과 행복을 느끼는데요, 선지자들의 입을 통해 저희 미래가 확실한 것을 알고, 저희가 하나님의 입으로 말씀하신 모든 말씀이 이루어지는 방향으로 살고 있고, 일하고 있고, 바라보고 있기 때문입니다. 저는 여러분께 이스라엘을 위해 기도해 주시고 이스라엘과 모든 민족에게 복음을 전하고 있는 이들 편에 서 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 메시아이며 하나님의 아들이신 예슈아께서는 그분의 가방을 싸고 계시며 가시면류관을 다윗왕의 왕관으로 바꿔 쓰시고 로마가 아니라 예루살렘으로 귀향길에 오를 준비를 하고 계십니다. 포로 로마노(포룸 로마눔)에 있는 티투스의 개선문. 70년 예루살렘 함락을 묘사하고 있으며, 주후 81년에 11년 전 아브월 9일에 일어난 일을 기념하여 세워짐.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – July 30, 2020

This Shabbat the reading will be from Deuteronomy 3:23 – 7:10. From the prophets the reading is from Isaiah chapter 40. It is considered as a special Shabbat that is called “Shabbat Nachamu” – The Shabbat of comforting. The reading of Isaiah 40 starts with the words:
“‘Comfort, yes, comfort My people!’ Says your God.” – Isaiah 40:1 [NKJV] The Lord is inviting the nations of the world to comfort Israel. The Torah portion starts with Moses pleading before the Lord to allow him to cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land. The Lord answers Moses and his pleading, begging, asking, crying, to enter the land with these words: “‘But the Lord was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me. So, the Lord said to me: “Enough of that! Speak no more to Me of this matter.”’” – Deuteronomy 3:26 [NKJV] The Lord that in Exodus revealed Himself to Moses as: “‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.’” – Exodus 34:6,7 [NKJV] Now is telling His servant Moses, be quiet, I do not want to hear you speak on this topic again. What do we learn from this exchange between Moses and the Lord? God has limits to his patience and when He has made up His mind even Moses to whom God spoke face to face and mouth to mouth, the answer is - no you are not going to cross the Jordan River and pleading will not help you. I personally feel for Moses. There were not that many occasions when Moses begged God for something, and in this last request, the only place that Moses wanted a personal favor from the Almighty, the answer was “No!” I have a personal lesson to learn from this parasha. I am a person who hates to ask for something but when I do ask something from God or from men, I hate to get a negative answer. It does not go well with me to get a “No” answer. From this reading of the Torah I am comforted that even Moses himself didn’t get what he wanted that much and had to live with God’s refusal to allow him to cross the Jordan River into the promised land of Canaan. At the end of Moses life, it turns out that Moses is a very tragic figure. He does not enter the land of promise, and at the end of the Book of Deuteronomy God drops an atomic bomb on Moses This is what God tells Moses before he climbs up Mount Nebo (Har Pisgah): “And the Lord said to Moses: ‘Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.’” – Deuteronomy 31:16 [NKJV] What terrible news God shares with Moses, just before he goes to die. In simple words, God is saying to Moses, this nation that you have raised up in the 40 years of wilderness will play the harlot and worship the idols of the neighboring nations and I will hide my face from them. This is what Moses must take with him to the next life. “My life was a waste. I failed to influence this nation with the Torah that I have brought down from Mt. Sinai, and all my life is a waste.” I do not really know if this is how Moses felt, but if I had been in Moses’ position this is how I would have felt. All the pyrotechnics of the giving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai did not help to change the hearts of these people. But the end will be good if you keep reading. The portion of Isaiah chapter 40 for the Haftarah (The reading from the Prophets) is also extremely powerful. God’s promises to Israel are so great in that chapter, and verse 3 is used to describe John the Baptizer: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’” – Isaiah 40:3–5 [NKJV] I love the presentation of these verses in Handel’s Messiah. Often when I hear the singing of these verses in Handel’s Messiah tears come to my eyes from the power of these words. Especially for my generation, the generation after the Nazi Holocaust that lives in Israel and enjoys the land of Israel and the blessings of the state of Israel. It is especially for me as a disciple of Yeshua, this call that the Lord is calling the nations to comfort Israel. What can be more significant after the Nazi Holocaust than to see the nations comfort the Jewish people? There are so many Christians who have made this verse their motto and are doing what they can and above and beyond of what they can to be a blessings to Israel and some also a blessing to the local Jewish disciples of Yeshua in this land that God gave to Abraham and to his seed forever. From the New Testament the suggested reading is from Matthew 23:31-39. This reading ends with the following words of Yeshua: “‘…for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”’” – Matthew 23:39 [NKJV] This verse is a verse of hope and promise. The Jewish people as a nation will one day say these words and welcome Yeshua home and say the words, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” At Netivyah we have been working to make this happen for 51 years in Jerusalem. We have seen slow but sure progress in this process. You our brothers and sisters among the nations ought to bless us in Israel and remember that this verse says that we, the Jewish nation, will accept Yeshua as one who is coming in the name of the Lord, as the Lord’s son and messenger, one hundred percent equal in authority to the Father, both creator and savior. The fast of the 9th of the month of Av starts on Wednesday evening. This date is one of the biggest proofs for me personally that there is a God in heaven who controls all life on Earth. In fact, Earth itself is controlled by this God that so loves the world that He sent His only begotten Son so that no one will perish, but all can have everlasting life. Here is a short list of what happened on this date of the 9th day of the month Av. Ask yourselves what are the probabilities of all these events that have been predicted by the prophets of Israel hundreds of years before they happened, would have happened on the same date of the Hebrew calendar. For me it proves that God exists and controls human history. These are the main events in our history that happened on this date: 1. The spies returned with a bad report. 2. Both Holy Temples were destroyed. 3. The battle at Beitar was lost (during the war of Rome against Bar Kochbah). 4. The Romans plowed under the Beit Hamikdash (the Holy Temple). 5. The Jews were expelled from England. 6. The Jews were banished from Spain. 7. Both world wars began. What is the probability that such events would all fall on the same date on the Hebrew calendar, that every major cataclysm and horrible event would happen to one nation? These events all happening on the 9th Day of the month Av – over a period of nearly 2000 years, is a phenomena. My faith in God and in Yeshua has been strengthened because I have seen the hand of the Lord move in our history and His promises being fulfilled in the most cruel ways that humans can imagine. Now, after such horrible chapters in our history, I must say that my faith has become stronger. The first time that Marcia and I visited Rome, Italy, was in June of 1969. Marcia was pregnant with Barry, and we had purchased a car (Fiat) in Naples and drove it to Rome. We were walking through the Roman Forum, and there it was, the victory arch dedicated to the Roman emperor Titus, who destroyed Jerusalem and burned the Temple on the 9th of Av, in the year 70 AD. We stood under the Arch of Titus (that is still standing) and looked at the relief (carving) of the victory march of the Roman soldiers carrying the spoils of war through the streets of Rome. There was an image of the golden menorah (lampstand) and the silver trumpets and the table of showbread. There was the standard of the 10th Legion, a big “X”, carried by the proud Roman legion. There was the celebration of the fall of Jerusalem and the shame that was inflicted on the Jewish nation by the pagan Roman power. But, right underneath the image, some “shameless” Israeli Jew had used his hotel key or a pocket knife and carved in Hebrew, “Am Yisrael Chai”, meaning “The nation of Israel is still living!” Tears ran down my face. These were not tears of sadness for the fall of Jerusalem. These were tears of joy. Ancient Rome lies in ruins, an archaeological museum of a dead pagan culture. The king of the Jews and of the Jewish nation, is alive and returning home and fulfilling God’s promises to Abraham and the prophets of the Hebrew bible. The Roman people of ancient Rome already don’t exist, Rome has been conquered and sacked and burned at least a dozen times since the Titus arch was built, and since the gold that was taken from the Temple in Jerusalem was used to pay for the building of the Roman Colosseum, now also in ruins, and only a tourist attraction. With all of our shortcomings and our weaknesses as a people, the Jewish nation is still, by in large, the same nation, with the same Bible, setting our future by the same prophets of God who have spoken His words of hope and condemnation, comfort and judgement, and all is being fulfilled before the eyes of the whole world. Yes, the eyes of the whole world and reported by CNN and BBC and China News, and all around the world by television and through the Internet. Everyone in the world can see the discoveries of ancient cities from the time of Yeshua, and the Startup nation, and the rebuilding of the land that God gave to Abraham and to His seed forever! Yes, the date on the Hebrew calendar is the 9th day of the month of Av. On this day a very significant percentage of the Jewish nation is fasting and even though it is a very hot day today people don’t drink or eat in remembrance of why our beloved Jerusalem was made dust and ashes on this very day in the year 70 AD, and remembering that this day has at least 16 major calamities and disasters that have occurred on it, that have proven to Israel and to the world that God is faithful to keep His promises. Yes, He kept His promises to punish Israel. He kept his promises to send us out of our land and hide His face from us, and now He is keeping His promises to reveal His face to us, and through us to the world. Yes, we experience a deep sadness because we have sinned, and the Lord has punished us! Yet we feel great joy and happiness because we know that our future is secured through the mouth of the prophets, and that we are living and working and looking toward the fulfillment of every word that is spoken by the mouth of God. I ask you to pray for Israel and to stand with those who are carrying the good news to Israel and to all the nations. Yeshua the Messiah and the son of God is packing His bags and exchanging the crown of thorns for the crown of King David, getting ready for His journey home, not to Rome, but to Jerusalem. Please keep praying for Marcia’s health, her memory, and diabetes, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Danah our daughter needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson who are also staying at home and working from home during this time. Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her brothers and their families all need our prayers.
Brazil is in bad shape with the coronavirus and the problems of the business community, and the social unrest is also a major challenge. We have so many brothers and sisters in Brazil that need our prayers and intercession on their behalf. Here is a short list of communities and brothers and sisters in Brazil who need our prayers and God’s grace in these hard times: Pray for the sister communities of Netivyah in Brazil, Har Zion, Ensenando de Siao, and Sar-El in Curitiba and other brothers and sisters in the city of Curitiba.
There is another congregation of brothers and sisters in Curitiba led by brother Claus and brother Moses, please pray for these dear brothers also and for and the Messianic congregations in Fortaleza, Santa Maria, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and in other cities in Brazil. Pray for our dear older and more vulnerable brothers and partners in Brazil, Michelle O., Marcelo Guimaraes family and especially his father, Paulo, Marty Galante. The Resende family.
Pray for the healing of these brothers around the world: Sister Angela is in special need these days and her life is hanging on the mercy and grace of our Lord. Please lift sister Angela and T.J. her husband as they are battling their battle and are totally dependent on God’s mercy and healing. Samuel Lopes a 17-year-old boy who is going through an extremely hard time now. Pray for Rachael and Daniel a brother and sister who need jobs and emotional healing.

Today is also the big feast of the Muslim world, Eid Al Adcha, the Feast of the Sacrifice. Muslims and Druze the world over are celebrating this feast by a sacrifice of a lamb or a goat. We have good friends who are Muslims and I have asked you to pray for their family and for healing.
The family of Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy their son. Please add them to your prayers. I believe that this is a good thing for us to pray for friends and acquaintances who are Muslims. It is an act of love and reconciliation to carry before the throne of mercy those dear people who are seeking peace and righteousness looking toward the Lord for mercy and healing. I am adding to the prayer list the daughter of one of my important university professors , Allison Howard Williams, she is the daughter of Patsy Wilkerson Howard, and Dr. George Howard.
Keep praying for Guilherme Antonio Nathan Becker and his wife Artuza de Oliviera, also add Rachael and Daniel Webster and Lizette Nancy, and Jose Carlos from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters and whom you do not know personally you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.”
“Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the Almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do. Your sincere prayers for people around the world do the following things for the Kingdom, The King, and for the Body of the Messiah:
1. They unite you and the body in a major transcendent bond of prayer.
2. They demonstrate the oneness of the people of God.
3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.
These are brothers and sisters from around the world that need a little more grace from our Father in Heaven, Reuven and Clil who the Lord willing will be on their way home to Israel this weekend. Keep them both in your prayers. Their return home is what I have asked you to pray for in the last few weeks and the Lord is answering our prayers. God keep them safe and bring them back home.

Ahuva. Please pray for a dear brother who is well into his 90’s and lost his wife a couple of weeks ago. His name is Dov H.
Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic. Businesses are closing and bankruptcy is happening to old established companies and businesses and even our national airline is on the verge of bankruptcy. People do not have money to put food on their tables. The number of people in need of basic food is growing.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to go to the webpage: www.netivyah.org and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system. The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime ministry of Israel to go to jail. We have had a president in jail, and finance minister in Jail, a minister of interior affair in Jail, and member of the parliament in jail. Enough!
The world is in a terrible flux as millions of people are dealing with this coronavirus and hundreds of thousands of families have already lost their loved ones to this plague of biblical proportions. Still, we also need to be grateful for countries like Israel who are beginning to come out and return to normality with caution and care.

Pray for a group of courageous rabbis in Israel who want to see a restoration of Torah values and a more uncomplicated approach to Jewish values and life-style. They are doing a great job in bringing the reality of the Torah into practice in the 21st century.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many.
I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry. Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children.
