예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2025년 12월 20일

토라 포션 미케쯔 (“~후에”): 창세기 41:1-44:17; 민수기 28:9-15, 7:42-47

하프타라(선지서 포션): 스가랴 2:10-4:7

신약성경: 누가복음 4:14-30

저는 이번 주 하프타라 포션에 대해 쓰고 싶은데요, 제가 스가랴서의 몇 구절을 좋아하기 때문입니다. 스가랴는 아론계 제사장이면서 선지자인 독특한 선지자 그룹(예레미야, 에스겔, 스가랴)의 한 명입니다. 스가랴 1장 1절은 우리에게 스가랴가 잇도의 손자 베레갸의 아들이라고 말해줍니다. 잇도는 바벨론에 1차로 잡혀갔던 그룹과 함께 돌아온 제사장이었습니다. 스가랴는 잇도의 손자인데요, 바벨론 유수 중에 태어났거나 귀환 직후 태어났을 가능성이 높습니다. 두 세계 사이에서 자란 첫 세대, 즉 바벨론에 대한 기억과 예루살렘의 회복 소망을 가진, 제 아버지처럼, 유배 생활(불가리아)에서 돌아온 부모님의 기억과 예루살렘을 품고 자란 세대라는 것입니다.

스가랴의 제사장으로서의 의무는 그에게 성전과 제사 제도에 대한 깊은 이해를 갖게 했습니다. 주전 520년경, 바사(페르시아)의 다리오 1세 왕이 통치하던 시대에 그는 학개 선지자와 함께 상하고 낙심한 공동체에 보내진 메신저였습니다. 성전은 폐허가 되었다가 재건되고 있습니다(에스라 4:4-5 및 학개 2:3). 성전이 없다는 불안감은 그들에게 부담이었습니다. 예루살렘은 작고, 취약하며, 적대적인 이웃들로 둘러싸여 있습니다. 이 이웃들은 그다지 많이 변하지 않았지만, 오늘날 이스라엘은 취약하지 않고, 강한 군대입니다.

스가랴의 환상은 직접적으로 성전에 대한 낙담을 다루고 있는데요, 우리에게 겉으로 드러나는 영광이 아닌 하나님의 임재가 정말로 이스라엘을 규정하는 것이라는 점을 상기시킵니다.

스가랴 2:10–11

“여호와의 말씀에 시온의 딸아 노래하고 기뻐하라 이는 내가 와서 네 가운데에 머물 것임이라 그 날에 많은 나라가 여호와께 속하여 내 백성이 될 것이요 나는 네 가운데에 머물리라 네가 만군의 여호와께서 나를 네게 보내신 줄 알리라”

우리는 하나님께서 언제나 그분의 백성과 함께 거하시며 이스라엘 안에 계시기를 원하신다는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 성막, 그리고 후에 성전은 하나님께서 이스라엘과 함께 계신다는 가시적인 표징입니다. 그러나 스가랴는 그러한 임재가 불확실해 보이는 그러한 시대에 말하고 있는 것입니다. 그 백성이 성전을 재건하고 있으나, 이전 성전의 영광은 잃은 것 같습니다. 하나님께서는 그분께서 친히 다시 그들 가운데 오시어 거하실 것을 그들에게 재확인시켜 주십니다.

이 약속은 돌과 성벽 이상까지 이릅니다. “내가 네 가운데에 머물 것이라”는 말씀은 더 깊은 이행을 가리키고 있습니다. “머물다/거하다”로 번역된 헬라어 단어는 “~에 모시다”라는 뜻입니다. 예슈아께서 오신 것은 하나님께서 이스라엘과 머무심/거하심을 대신하는 것이 아니고, 그것을 이행하신 것입니다. 하나님께서는 시온을 버리시지 않으셨습니다. 하나님께서는 시온으로 오셨습니다.

우리에게는 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하신 말씀이 있습니다!

요한복음 1:14

“말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”

후에, 사도들은 하나님의 거하심이 이제는 이스라엘의 메시아에 합류한 모든 사람에게까지 확대된다고 설명합니다.

에베소서 2:19–22

“그러므로 이제부터 너희는 외인도 아니요 나그네도 아니요 오직 성도들과 동일한 시민이요 하나님의 권속이라 … 너희도 성령 안에서 하나님이 거하실 처소가 되기 위하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 지어져 가느니라”

하나님의 계획은 언제나 관계적입니다. 그분께서는 단지 종교 구조물 가운데가 아닌, 그분의 백성과 함께 거하십니다.

스가랴 4:6

“그가 내게 대답하여 이르되 여호와께서 스룹바벨에게 하신 말씀이 이러하니라 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하시되 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라”

스룹바벨은 반대와 자원 제한과 압도적인 낙담에 부딪쳤습니다. 하나님께서는 성전 재건이 군사력이나 정치적 권세나 인간적 노력만으로는 성공하지 못할 것이라는 것을 분명히 하십니다.

히브리 성경은 일관되게 하나님의 영(루아흐 엘로힘)이 생명과 힘과 소생의 진짜 원천이라고 가르칩니다.

이 진리는 신약성경에서도 분명하게 메아리치고 있습니다:

사도행전 1:8

“오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라”

샤부옷(오순절)에 성령을 부어주신 것은 예루살렘에서 유대인 믿는 자들 가운데 일어났는데요, 이는 하나님께서 그분의 백성에게 안에서부터 능력을 입히실 것이라는 예언적 약속을 이루신 것입니다.

로마서 8:11

“예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라”

창세기에서 수면 위에 운행하시고, 선지자들에게 능력을 입히시고, 이스라엘을 지탱시켜주신 바로 그 영이 이제 메시아를 믿는 자들 가운데 거하십니다. 하나님의 구속 역사는 언제나 성령님께서 이끄셨습니다.

이 하누카에 우리가 우리 집에 메노라, 그 빛을 가져올 때, 그것은 우리에게 빛이 되라는 것이 무슨 뜻인지 상기시킵니다.

이사야 49:6

“… 내가 또 너를 이방의 빛으로 삼아 나의 구원을 베풀어서 땅 끝까지 이르게 하리라”

신약성경은 이 부르심을 지워버리지 않고, 이스라엘의 메시아를 통해 이를 확대시킵니다.

마태복음 5:14–16

“너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요 … 이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라”

스가랴의 환상은 우리에게 하나님께서 그분의 약속에 신실하시다는 것을 상기시킵니다. 그분께서는 그분의 백성과 함께 거하시고, 그분의 성령으로 그들에게 능력을 입히시고, 열방 가운데 그분의 빛을 비추라고 그들을 부르십니다.

신약성경은 이 진리들을 취소시키지 않습니다. 오히려 이스라엘의 메시아 안에서 그 충만함을 계시합니다. 오늘날 하나님의 백성인 우리는 그분의 처소로서 살며, 그분의 영에 의지하고, 곤고한 세상에 신실하게 그분의 빛을 비추라고 초청받았습니다.

만군의 여호와께서 말씀하시되 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – 20 December, 2025

Torah Portion Miketz ("After"): Genesis 41:1-44:17; Numbers 28:9-15, 7:42-47

Haftarah: Zechariah 2:10-4:7

New Testament: Luke 4:14-30

I wanted to write about the Hafrarah portion this week since I love some of the verses in Zechariah. Zechariah is in a unique group of prophets who were also Aharonic Priests ( Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah). Zechariah 1:1 tells us that Zechariah is the Son of Berechia, the son of Iddo. Iddo was a priest who returned from Babylon with the first group of exiles. Zechariah is the grandson of Iddo, and most likely born in exile or shortly after the return. The first generation grew up between two worlds: the memory of Babylon and the hope of restoration in Jerusalem, and just like my father, growing up with the memories of his parents from exile (Bulgaria) and Jerusalem.

Zecharia's priestly duty gave him an intimate understanding of the Temple and the sacrificial system. In around 520 BC, during the reign of Darius I of Persia, he was the messenger to a wounded and discouraged community along with the prophet Haggai. The Temple was in ruins and being rebuilt (Ezra 4:4-5 & Haggai 2:3). The uncertainty of not having the Temple was weighing on them. Jerusalem was small, vulnerable, and surrounded by hostile neighbors - much has not changed with our neighbors. However, Israel is not vulnerable, but a mighty army today.

Zechariah's vision directly addresses the discouragement about the Temple, reminding us that God's presence, not outward glory, is what truly defines Israel.

Zechariah 2:10–11 (NASB)

"Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," declares the LORD. "Many nations will join themselves to the LORD in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.

We see that God has always desired to be within Israel to dwell with his people. The Tabernacle, and later the Temple, were visible signs of God's presence with Israel. Yet Zechariah speaks during a time when that presence seemed uncertain. The people were rebuilding, but the glory of the former Temple felt lost. God reassures them that He Himself is coming to dwell among them again.

This promise reaches beyond stones and walls. The language "I will dwell in your midst" points forward to a deeper fulfillment. The Greek word translated to English as "dwelt" means "to tabernacle.” Yeshua's coming was not a replacement of God's dwelling with Israel—it was the fulfillment of it. God did not abandon Zion; He came to her.

We have the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us!

John 1:14 (NASB)

"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Later, the apostles explain that God's dwelling now extends to all who are joined to Israel's Messiah.

Ephesians 2:19–22 (NASB)

"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household… being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit."

God's plan has always been relational. He dwells with His people, not merely among religious structures.

Zechariah 4:6 (NASB)

"Then he said to me, 'This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts.'"

Zerubbabel faced opposition, limited resources, and overwhelming discouragement. God makes it clear that the rebuilding of the Temple would not succeed through military force, political authority, or human effort alone.

The Hebrew Scriptures consistently teach that God's Spirit—Ruach Elohim—is the true source of life, strength, and renewal.

This same truth is echoed clearly in the New Testament:

Acts 1:8 (NASB)

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."

The outpouring of the Spirit at Shavuot (Pentecost) occurred in Jerusalem, among Jewish believers, fulfilling the prophetic promise that God would empower His people from within.

Romans 8:11 (NASB)

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

The same Spirit who hovered over the waters in Genesis, who empowered the prophets, and who sustained Israel now dwells in those who trust in the Messiah. God's redemptive work has always been Spirit-led.

This Hanukkah, as we bring the menorah, the light, into our homes, it reminds me of what it means for us to be the light.

Isaiah 49:6 (NASB)

"I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."

The New Testament does not erase this calling—it expands it through Israel's Messiah.

Matthew 5:14–16 (NASB)

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your father who is in heaven."

Zechariah's vision reminds us that God is faithful to His promises. He dwells with His people, empowers them by His Spirit, and calls them to shine His light among the nations.

The New Testament does not cancel these truths—it reveals their fullness in the Messiah of Israel. As God's people today, we are invited to live as His dwelling place, rely on His Spirit, and faithfully reflect His light to a world in need.

Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts.

Pray for the following brothers and sisters who need divine grace and the gentle touch of the hand of God for healing and strength.

In Jerusalem:

 update Joseph Shulam - Prayer of thanks for dad arriving home.

 Ilana Hanhijärvi is a dear sister who is 99 years old and suffering from memory problems.

 Please pray for our dear sister, Lea Kurki.

 Pray for Adam’s father and mother, Barry and Dalia. They have some health problems and challenges.

 Pray for Miriam a dear sister old age dementia.

 Pray for Um Mahmud Abu-Eid, Jimmy Abu-Eid, and all of the family. This is a dear family of old friends that needs healing and wisdom for the children and for their work.

 Please pray for the Romero family, who live deep in the Negev desert. It is hot there, and they are far from our congregation, and we miss them.

In the U.K.:

 Pray for Deborah Isaiah. I pray for the Lord to find Deborah Isaiah and lead her to a blessed life, family, and a solution to her problems.

In Finland:

 Mauno Lemponen health has not changed which is a good thing. they are evaluating moving closer to other family members — prayers for Hilkka, Miika, and Ester who will support this possible change. Please pray as moving is always a big task.

 Keijo and Salme are doing well. Both Keijo and Salme need your prayers for their health issues.

 Pray for Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia, Victor, Aaron Tani, and Hillel.

 Pray for the family of X in Finland who are waiting to see there children and Grandchildren to be in faith in the Lord. its stressful to not have all your children walk in faith.

In Denmark:

 Cynthia M asked that you for praying for her health. She has neutropenia and chronic asthma and I has been undergoing biological treatment with injections every two weeks since 2021 so I ask you to pray for better results and better health conditions as the symptoms, respiratory infections, medications and injections make me very tired every day.

 Mass has lost his wife and has small children. Please pray for Mass a this children as he navigates this major change in his life and the Childrens life. May God bless him with direction.

In Brazil:

 Pray for a dear young man, Paulo, from Curitiba, Brazil, who seriously needs our prayers for sanity and mental health.

 Pray for a dear sister named Claudia Rita Souze Arau. She has cancer and needs God’s healing hands to touch her with healing.

 Pray for Pastor T.J. in Taiwan.

 Pray for Deborah Ruth, a dear sister from China.

 Tony Tam, his wife Luisa, and his son Marco need special prayers for their situation.

 I ask for prayers for divine intervention in the lives of my sister-in-law “A” and her husband, my brother, “G” and their son. l am begging the Eternal for healing and salvation for this family.

 Shirley J heart surgery is needed since her stents did not work. She is asking for faith to be strengthened.

 Ray H. is having a similar health issue like Marcia Shulam did where id blood pressure drops when we stands up.

 Irina L. is in need of a kidney transplant. her kidney is beginning to fail and is only 26% functioning. Prayer for a suitable donor and wisdom for the doctors and medical team to maintain her kidney functions. (Irina is the twin sister of pastor Serge from Kazakhstan.

 Elisheva’s husband is recovering from a fourth surgery. on September 23 he will have a 5th surgery. Also prayer for healing for Elisheva's left leg and hip joint healing. Also a interview next week for a new job.

 Manny is asking for prayers for his fathers health that is in decline.

 Jenny is going to have some medical evaluations. asking for prayers for the best outcome that will not impact her current life plans and her ability to drive a car.

 I spoke with Shirleyann. Her skin cancer was treated and she has to put a cancer treatment cream on her spots daily. her follow up visit is Dec 4th.

 Jordan Issac - prayer for his treatments to work. Prayer for a mentor to step in and support him in his search for the Lord.

 Pete and Marge. Marge is undergoing test for Brest cancer and they are in the process of trying to get legal guardianship of their grandkids. They are both in the mid 80s. Please pray for strength and longevity to get these kids past college age.

 Aida Ramirez is back in her apartment from rehab. praise the Lord. please pray for her continued recovery and dementia complications.

 Aida Gonzalez needs prayers as the is the main caretaker of her mother Aida. Continue to pray for strength and congregations support.

 Pat S pain management has improved with some shots. Keep Philip who is 89 and is caring for Pat in you prayers.

 Larry is asking for prayers for his grandchildren. I would say most of us that have grandchildren are concerned about the states of the world. The state of intolerance. The temptations out there. Please pray for the holy sprit to guide them in making good choices.

 Juli got a good report on her last scan and she is also in remission. So praise God. Give thanks to the Lord for he is Good.

 update Bill has been able to change the regiment where the side effects are manageable and we are thankful for that. We are praying for healing and strength and comfort for Jill and Bill.

 Barbra and Angie in Alaska. Barbra has some pains and discomfort related to old age. Please lift them in prayer for strength and reduction in pain.

 Please pray for Danah, my daughter's health issues. I pray for the Lord to give Danah wisdom, peace, and calm in life and her work.

 Aaron Hook, Nancy Hook’s oldest son, needs our prayers for wisdom and healing from past life issues.

 Pray for these important men of God: Rabbi Salt, his family, and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.

 pray for Ilana Avramov, who is married to my cousin Nissim and lives in New York City. Ilana is home now. her health is in a decline like Marcia. She and Nissim both need our prayers.

 Pray for Steve Mock - His cognitive condition has declined, and we ask for the grace of God and His Healing and strength. Steve and Josie’s son Joseph has received a wonderful and glorious report. After the last bone marrow transplant, the report is that the doctors didn’t find any leukemia in his body! Praise the Lord!
