2021년 6월 5일 안식일 토라 포션은 셸라흐 레하, 민수기 13:1~15:41입니다. 선지자의 글에서 읽는 부분은 여호수아 2:1–24이고, 신약성경에서는 히브리서 3:7~4:1를 읽습니다.
매주 제가 토라 포션(파라샤)과 선지서 포션(하프타라)과 신약성경 포션을 읽을 때마다 저는 현재 이스라엘 땅의 상황과 관련이 있는 뭔가를 발견하게 됩니다. 이스라엘은 세계의 다른 나라들과 마찬가지로 거의 2년 간 끔찍한 코로나바이러스 환난을 겪었습니다. 제가 정직히 말해 저희 수상의 현명한 결정 덕분에 이스라엘이 일찍 국민에게 백신 접종을 하여 팬데믹을 통제한 나라 중 하나라고 하더라도, 이것은 여전히 1년 반의 삼중 환난이었습니다. 우리는 코로나바이러스를 다뤄야 했고, 국내적으로는 총체적 정치 혼란을 다뤄야 했습니다. 현대 민주주의 역사에 팬데믹 시기 18개월 동안 네 번의 총선을 한 나라는 한 나라도 없습니다. 세 번째 거의 재앙에 가까운 일은 가자지구의 우리 아랍/팔레스타인 이웃과의 관계였습니다. 2021년 5월 마지막 라운드는 하마스/헤즈볼라 테러 조직과의 전쟁에 버금가는 최악의 대치 중 하나였습니다. 이스라엘 도시들과 마을들과 키부츠 농장들로 발사된 4,000발이 넘는 로켓포 쇄도는 지옥 같은 행성 가자지구 외계인들의 12일 간의 “스타워즈” 공격이었습니다. 11일 동안 쉬지 않고 철과 폭발물이 아쉬돗, 아쉬켈론, 스데롯, 브엘셰바, 홀론, 밧-얌, 텔-아비브, 예루살렘 같은 도시들에 비오듯 쏟아졌습니다. 가능한 한 많은 민간인을 죽이려는 완전히 악한 의도를 가지고 400 파운드 (200 킬로그램)가 넘는 탄두를 장착한 로켓포가 민간인 마을을 향해 발사되었습니다. 누구를 목표로 테러를 일으킬까는 아돌프 히틀러의 비망록에서 (비유적으로 말해) 단계와 조치를 따왔습니다. 하마스와 다른 아랍/팔레스타인 테러 조직의 목표는 비밀이 아닙니다. 그것은 기록되고 서명되고 인준 받았습니다. 하나님께서 주신 이스라엘 땅에서 이스라엘과 유대인들을 없애버리는 것입니다. 저는 진심으로 이스라엘 대다수가 전능하신 하나님, 우리 주 메시아 예슈아의 아버지께 그분의 긍휼과 보호에 감사하고 있다는 것을 말씀드릴 수 있을 것 같습니다. 또한 (북한의 고무를 받아 이란에서 만든) 4,000발 이상의 로켓포 85%를 요격한 이스라엘 방위군과 공군에도 감사해 합니다. “아이언 돔”이 요격하지 못한 15%가 아파트 건물과 개인 주택, 학교, 유치원, 상점, 거리, 주차장을 타격했습니다. 쥐새끼처럼 지하에 숨어 있는 하마스와 다른 테러 조직은 어린이와 노인과 어른을 포함한 민간인을 목표로 로켓포를 발사하여 그들을 죽였고, 많은 사유재산이 파괴되었습니다. 이스라엘 공군은 가자지구 테러조직의 시설과 군사/테러 목적으로 만든 지하터널을 폭격했습니다. 그렇습니다, 이스라엘 공군은 부수적으로 민간인에 어떠한 피해도 생기지 않도록 그들이 할 수 있는 모든 것을 했습니다. 그러나 테러 조직들이 로켓포 저장소와 이 로켓포까지 함께 둔 군수공장 안과 주위에 사람들을 강제로 인간 방패로 사용하고 있는 것도 사실입니다. 이것이 가자지구 전쟁 사상자가 이스라엘보다 많은 평범하고 단순한 연유입니다. 가자지구에서 사망자 수는 어린이 몇 명을 포함하여 약 250명입니다. 이 수는 이스라엘 사망자 수의 네 배입니다. 국제연합은 가자지구에서 죽은 사람이 이스라엘에서 죽은 약 60명보다 더 많은 것에 대해 이스라엘을 비난했습니다. 뉴욕시와 로스앤젤레스, 런던, 파리 등의 거리에서 유대인에 대한 반-유대주의 공격의 물결이 수천 퍼센트 증가했습니다. 이스라엘에서는 어린 아랍인 조직폭력배가 저지르는 국내 아랍/팔레스타인 테러행위와 무고한 사람들에 대한 린치가 새로운 형태의 아랍 테러행위로 경종을 울리고 있습니다. 로드(루다)와 자파(욥바) 같은 저희 고대 성경 도시에서의 테러는 새로운 현상입니다. 제가 지금 이것을 나누는 이유는 소위 오래된/새로운 현상이라고 하는 이 현상은 사실 성경의 아말렉의 행위의 반복이기 때문입니다. 이스라엘에 있는 예슈아의 유대인 제자들(메시아닉 유대인)은 한결같이 저희 아랍/팔레스타인 이웃과의 공존과 좋은 이웃사이를 믿습니다. 다음은 제가 여러분께 우리 주님, 우리 하나님이며 아버지의 이름으로 해주시기를 부탁드리는 것입니다. 1. 이스라엘을 위해, 그리고 저희 아랍/팔레스타인 이웃을 위해 하나님의 진리의 길 – 아브라함의 자녀가 형제로서 공유하게 되어 있는 이 땅에서 좋은 이웃으로 평화롭게 공존하는 길을 찾도록 기도해 주십시오. 2. 세상 나라 정부들이 유대인 국민을 보호하고 세계의 주요 거리에서 일어나는 반-유대주의 테러 공격을 그치게 하기 위해 할 수 있는 모든 일을 하도록 기도해 주십시오. 3. 아무 정당한 이유 없이 유대인을 미워하거나 아무든 미워하는 것은, (3대 종교의 믿는 사람에 따라, 역자주) 아브라함과 그의 씨의 하나님 혹은 알라 혹은 예수님이라 할 수 있는, 하나님을 대적하는 것임을 여러분의 공동체에서 나누고 가르치십시오. 4. 여러분의 나라와 도시에 있는 유대인 공동체 편에 서 주시고 도덕적 정치적 지지를 해주십시오. 5. 나가서 친-이스라엘 시위에 참여하시고, 이스라엘과 유대인들을 사랑하는 기독교인으로서 그렇게 하는 것을 부끄러워하지 마시고 견고히 서서 유대인에 대한 반-유대주의 행위와 거짓 선동에 반대하십시오. 6. 이스라엘 땅과 여러분의 도시와 나라에 있는 예슈아의 유대인 및 아랍/팔레스타인 제자들을 지지하기 위해 여러분이 할 수 있는 모든 일을 하십시오. 이제 이번 주 토라 포션에 대해 몇 마디 하겠습니다: “셸라흐 레하”는 우리에게 가나안 땅을 정탐하러 열두 “정탐꾼”을 내보내는 이야기를 소개하는 포션입니다. 모세가 동의하고 이스라엘 열두 지파의 지도자를 선택한 이 임무는 시내광야에서 40년 광야 유랑생활의 중요한 사건 중 하나가 되었습니다. 이스라엘 역사에 정신적 외상이 된 일은 이스라엘 지파 지도자 중 열 명의 부정적인 보고입니다. 주님께서 어떻게 역사하실지 더 잘 이해하고 있던 두 명, 눈의 아들 여호수아와 여분네의 아들 갈렙의 보고는 이스라엘의 주 하나님을 믿는 믿음과 사실에 근거한 간단한 보고였습니다. 가나안 땅을 정탐하는 열두 남자의 이 임무는 모든 시대에 중요한 믿음의 교훈이 되었습니다. 이번 안식일 토라 포션에 있는 두 번째 역시 읽고 이해하는 것이 중요합니다. 이스라엘 사람들의 믿음 부족과 열 정탐꾼의 보고로 인한 사기 저하 때문에 주님의 화가 촉발되었고 하나님으로부터 백성에게 전염병이 임했습니다. 백성은 불평하며 또 다시 애굽을 떠나 종살이에서 해방된 것을 후회했습니다. 하나님께서는 너무 화가 나 이스라엘 백성과의 관계를 끝장내고 모세를 근거로 하여 새 민족을 시작하고자 하셨습니다. 저는 주님의 동기가 백성이 소명을 이루어 하나님께서 아브라함에게 주신 약속들을 다룰 수 있을 정도로 성품과 믿음을 분발시킬 수 있는지 백성을 시험하는 것이었을 뿐만 아니라 모세를 시험하는 것이기도 했다고 믿습니다. 하나님께서는 모세가 어떤 종류의 재질로 만들어졌는지, 그가 자기의 사익을 생각하는지 아니면 거의 40년 동안 광야에서 그를 따를 온 민족의 유익을 생각하는지 보시고 싶으셨습니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 모세에게 제안하십니다: “여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 이 백성이 어느 때까지 나를 멸시하겠느냐 내가 그들 중에 많은 이적을 행하였으나 어느 때까지 나를 믿지 않겠느냐 내가 전염병으로 그들을 쳐서 멸하고 네게 그들보다 크고 강한 나라를 이루게 하리라.” – 민수기 14:11,12 모세가 여기에서 주님께 대답한 것은 오늘날 우리와 전 세계 하나님의 백성의 모든 지도자에게 중요한 교훈이 됩니다. 하나님께서는 모세에게 모세가 거절할 수 없는 제안을 하십니다. 내가 너를 저들(이스라엘)보다 더 크고 더 강한 나라로 만들어 주겠다. 모세는 이 시험에 낙제하지 않습니다. 모세가 하나님의 제안에 대한 반응으로 하나님께 대답한 것은 다음과 같습니다: “이제 주께서 이 백성을 하나 같이 죽이시면 주의 명성을 들은 여러 나라가 말하여 이르기를 여호와가 이 백성에게 주기로 맹세한 땅에 인도할 능력이 없었으므로 광야에서 죽였다 하리이다 이제 구하옵나니 이미 말씀하신 대로 주의 큰 권능을 나타내옵소서 이르시기를 여호와는 노하기를 더디하시고 인자가 많아 죄악과 허물을 사하시나 형벌 받을 자는 결단코 사하지 아니하시고 아버지의 죄악을 자식에게 갚아 삼사대까지 이르게 하리라 하셨나이다 구하옵나니 주의 인자의 광대하심을 따라 이 백성의 죄악을 사하시되 애굽에서부터 지금까지 이 백성을 사하신 것 같이 사하시옵소서.” – 민수기 14:15-19 모세가 하나님께 한 대답의 요지는 무엇입니까? 1. 주님께서는 전 세계적으로 체면을 잃게 될 것입니다. 열방이 주님을 악한 의도를 가진, 주님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 하신 약속을 지키지 못하는 약하고 무능한 분으로 생각할 것입니다; “여호와가 이 백성에게 주기로 맹세한 땅에 인도할 능력이 없었으므로 광야에서 죽였다 하리이다…” 2. 온 이스라엘을 죽이시겠다고 주님께서 제게 제안하시는 이런 종류의 행동은 주님의 성품에 맞지 않으며, 이 세상을 지으시고 아브라함과 그의 씨를 택하여 세상 모든 민족에 복 주시려는 하나님의 본성에도 반하는 것입니다. 3. 주님께서는 “노하기를 더디하시고 인자가 많아 죄악과 허물을 사하시는 분이시오니 … 이 백성의 죄악을 사하시옵소서!” (17-19절) 4. 모세는 주님께 간구하여 말합니다, “주의 인자의 광대하심을 따라 이 백성의 죄악을 사하시옵소서…” 모세는 하나님께서 그에게 제안하신 것을 거절합니다. 그는 오히려 하나님께 반박하여 말합니다, “주님 이것은 주님답지 않습니다. 주님의 제안은 주님의 성품에 맞지 않습니다. 주님께 청하오니 이 백성을 용서해주시옵소서. 그것이 주님의 본성이기 때문입니다.” 다음은 아주 중요한 이 사건에서 제가 배운 것입니다: 1. 하나님께서는 독재자가 아니십니다. 그분께서는 열려 있고 기꺼이 듣고자 하십니다. 그것이 그분의 의롭고 사랑하시고 오래 참으시는 본성을 나타내는 것입니다. 2. 주님께서 우리에게 어떤 크고 경이로운 제안을 하실 수도 있겠지만 그것이 우리가 이기적으로 우리 개인의 유익에 관한 것으로 생각해도 된다는 뜻은 아닙니다. 3. 때때로 하나님께서는, 멋져 보이지만 우리 마음과 우리 소원이 어디에 있는지 시험하는 좋은 제안, “유혹”으로 우리를 시험하십니다. 우리가 특히 개인적으로 혹은 우리 가족에게 유익한 것을 생각하며 우리가 하나님과 그분의 사람들을 섬기도록 부름 받았음을 잊어버린다면… 우리가 하나님께서 우리에게 맡기신 양떼에 유익한 것이 아니라 우리에게 유익한 것을 선택한다면, 우리는 우리의 소명에 실패하는 것이 될 것이며 우리의 몰락이 반드시 올 것입니다. 4. 하나님의 백성의 지도자들이여, 여러분에게 숙제가 있습니다: 에스겔 34장 전체를 읽으시기 바랍니다.
이렇게 아주 힘든 시간에 네티비야를 위해 기도하고 후원해 주십시오. 이스라엘에서 이 어려운 시절에 이스라엘 사람들에게 선을 행하며 그들을 축복하고 먹이고 지지할 기회와 필요가 몇 배로 늘었습니다.

인도와 브라질은 아직도 코로나바이러스로 인한 문제가 아주 심각한 상황입니다. 우리는 인도와 브라질을 위해, 특히 이 두 나라에 있는 우리 형제자매들을 위해 계속 기도해야 합니다.
저는 인도 첸나이에 있는 우리의 귀한 이삭 형제님한테서 특별 기도 부탁을 받았습니다. 이삭 형제님은 저희에게 특별히 쉴라 스티븐 자매님을 위해 기도해 달라고 부탁했습니다. 쉴라 자매님의 폐는 산소가 심히 필요한데, 지금 병원에서는 코로나바이러스 환자들을 위한 산소를 찾는 것이 아주 어렵다고 합니다.
우리는 주님, 주님께서 코로나바이러스에 걸린 우리 형제자매들을 구해주십시오 기도합니다. 우리는 주님께서 보호와 의료적 보살핌을 주셔서 저들이 살아나 계속 주님을 찬양하고 주님의 이름에 영광 돌리게 하옵소서 기도합니다.

마르시아는 6월 7일에 왼쪽 눈 백내장 수술이 예정되어 있습니다. 수술 받는 시간에 당수치가 균형을 유지하고 모든 것이 순조롭게 되며 이 수술로 시력이 향상되도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.
저를 위해서도 기도해 주십시오. 제 왼쪽 눈 수술은 의사들이 대성공이라고 여깁니다. 그들은 멀었던 제 눈에 그들이 행한 위대한 일에 대해 스스로 아주 자랑스러워합니다. 그들은 세계적으로 명망 있는 의학지 몇 곳에 의학논문을 쓸 것입니다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – June 3, 2021

The Torah Reading this Shabbat of June 5, 2021 is Shelach Lechah – Numbers 13:1 – 15:41. The reading from the prophets is from Joshua 2:1 – 24. From the New Testament we are reading Hebrews 3:7-4:1.
Every week when I read the Torah portion (the parasha) and the portion from the prophets (the haftarah) and from the New Testament texts, I find something relevant to the current situation in the land of Israel. Israel like the rest of the world has gone through a horrible near two years of coronavirus tribulation. Although I can honestly say that, thanks to our prime minister who took intelligent decisions, and Israel is one of the countries that vaccinated the population early and put this pandemic under bearable control, it was still over a year and a half of a triple tribulation. We had the coronavirus to deal with. We had the internal political total mess to deal with. There has been no country in the history of modern democracies that in 18 months, during a pandemic, had four election campaigns. The third near-disaster was the relationship with our Arab/Palestinian neighbors from the Gaza Strip. This last round in the month of May 2021 was one of the worst war-like confrontations with the terrorist organization of Hamas/Hezbollah. The flood of more than 4000 rockets that were launched at Israeli cities, villages, kibbutz farms, was like 12 days in a “Star Wars” attack of the aliens from the hellish planet Gaza. A non-stop 11 days of steel and explosives raining down on cities like Ashdod, Ashkelon, Sderoth, Be’er-Sheva, Holon, Bat-Yam, Tel-Aviv, and Jerusalem. These rockets, with explosive heads carrying over 400 pounds (200 kilograms), were aimed at civilian neighborhoods with the fully-malicious intent of killing as many civilians as possible. To create terror who’s aim was to take steps and measures (metaphorically speaking) from the notebooks of Adolf Hitler. The aim of the Hamas and the other Arab/Palestinian terrorist organizations is not a secret. It is written signed and ratified. To delete Israel and the Jewish people out of the God-given land of Israel. I can sincerely say that the majority of Israel is grateful to the almighty God, and father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah for His mercy and protection. And also thankful and more then grateful to the Israeli military and Air Force that was able to intercept 85 percent of the 4000+ rockets (made in Iran with the inspiration of North Korea). The 15 percent that the “Iron Dome” was not able to intercept hit apartment buildings, private homes, schools, and kindergartens, businesses, roads, and parking lots. The Hamas and the other terrorist organizations hiding like rats under the ground aimed their rockets at civilians, including civilian children, and elderly people, and adults, who were killed in Israel, while much private property was destroyed. The Israeli Air Force bombed Gaza terrorist installations and underground tunnels that were created and intended for military/terrorist aims. Yes, it is true that the Israeli Air Force did everything possible to avoid any collateral damage to civilians. It is also true that the terrorist organizations use human shields planted by force in and around their storage for rockets, and military factories that put these rockets together. This is the plain and simple reason why there are more casualties of war in Gaza than there are in Israel. The number killed in Gaza is about 250 people, including several children. This number is four times the number of casualties in Israel. The United Nations condemned Israel for killing more people in Gaza than were killed in Israel, in Israel the number of dead is about 60 people. The wave of anti-Semitic attacks on Jews in the streets of New York City, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and others increased by thousands of percents. In Israel, the internal Arab/Palestinian terrorism carried out by young Arab criminal gangs and the lynching of innocent people is a very alarming new type of Arab terrorism, internally in our ancient biblical cities like Lod (Lyda) and Jaffa, a new phenomenon. I am sharing these things now because this so-called old/new phenomenon is actually a repetition of the actions of Amalek in the Bible. The Jewish Disciples of Yeshua (the Messianic Jews) in Israel uniformly believe in coexistence and good neighborly relationships with our Arab/Palestinian neighbors. Here is what I am asking you to do in the name of our Lord, our God and Father. 1. Pray for Israel and pray for our Arab/Palestinian neighbors to find the true path of God – the path of good neighbors and of peaceful coexistence in this land that the children of Abraham are fated to share as brothers. 2. Pray for the governments of the world to do all that is possible to protect the Jewish population and to stop and quench the present wave of anti-Jewish terrorist attacks in the streets of the major cities of the world. 3. Share and teach your communities that to hate Jews or to hate anyone for no rational reason is against God Himself, be it the almighty God of Abraham and His seed or Allah or Jesus. 4. Stand and give moral and political support to the Jewish communities in your countries and cities. 5. Go out and participate in pro-Israel demonstrations and don’t be shy to do it as Christians who love Israel and the Jewish people, and stand firm against anti-Semitic actions and false propaganda against Jews. 6. Do all you can to support the Jewish and Arab/Palestinian disciples of Yeshua (Jesus) in the land of Israel and in your own cities and countries. Now a few words on the Torah reading for this Shabbat: Shelach Lecha is the portion that introduces us to the sending out of the twelve “spies” to spy out the land of Canaan. This mission that Moses agrees to and chooses leaders from the 12 tribes of Israel becomes one of the pivotal events in the 40 years of wilderness wondering in the Sinai desert. What becomes traumatic in the history of Israel is the negative report of ten of these leaders of the tribes of Israel. The two who understood better how the Lord works, Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh came with a report that is simple, based on truth and on faith in the Lord God of Israel. This mission of the 12 men to spy out the country of Canaan becomes a major lesson of faith for all ages. The second thing that is in our Torah Reading this Shabbat is also extremely important to read and understand. Due to the lack of faith of the people of Israel and the demoralization of the people because of the report of the ten spies, the Lord’s anger was kindled and a plague came from God on the people. The people murmured and again regretted leaving Egypt and being freed from slavery. God’s anger was so great that He wanted to end His relationship with the people of Israel and start a new nation based on Moses. I believe that the motivation of the Lord was to test not only the people but to test Moses himself and see if these people were able to muster enough character and faith to be able to fulfill the calling and to handle the promises that God gave to Abraham. God wanted to see of what kind of material Moses was made, and if he is thinking of his own good or the good of the whole nation that will be following him in the wilderness for nearly forty years. So, God offers Moses: “Then the Lord said to Moses: ‘How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them? I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.’” – Numbers 14:11,12 [NKJV] The answer that Moses gives to the Lord here is a great lesson for us today and for every leader of God’s people around the world. God gives Moses an offer that Moses’s can’t refuse. I will make you a nation greater and mightier than they (than Israel). Moses does not fail the test this is what Moses answer God as a response to God’s offer: “Now if You kill these people as one man, then the nations which have heard of Your fame will speak, saying, ‘Because the Lord was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the wilderness.’ And now, I pray, let the power of my Lord be great, just as You have spoken, saying, ‘The Lord is long suffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’ Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” – Numbers 14:15-19 [NKJV] What is the essence of the answer that Moses gives to God: 1. Your reputation around the world will be lost. The nations will attribute to You evil intentions and weakness and inability to keep Your promises to the people of Israel; “you are not able to bring this people to the land which you swore to give them…” 2. This kind of action that You are proposing to me and the desire to kill all of Israel is not according to Your character, and it is against Your nature as God who created this world and has chosen Abraham and his seed to bless all the nations of the world. 3. As you are the Lord (verses 17-19), “long suffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity… Pardon the iniquity of this people!” 4. Moses calls to the Lord and says, “Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of your mercy…” Moses refuses to take the offer that God gives him. He turns the tables to God and says, Lord this is not like You. Your suggestion is not true to Your character and I ask You, O Lord, please forgive these people because this is Your nature. Here is what I learn from this very important episode: 1. God is not an autocrat. He is open and willing to hear and listen, which is what His righteous and loving and longsuffering nature represents. 2. The Lord might offer us some great and wonderful offers, but it does not mean that we ought to think selfishly only about what is good for us personally. 3. Sometimes God tests us with good offers, “temptations” that look wonderful but test where our hearts and our desires reside. If we especially think of what is good for us personally or for our families, and forget that we are called to serve God and His people… if we choose what is good for us and not what is good for the flock that God has given us, we might be failing our calling and our fall will surely come… 4. Leaders of God’s people, here is some homework for you: please read Ezekiel chapter 34, the whole chapter.
Pray and support Netivyah during these very hard times. The opportunities and the need to do good and bless and feed and support the population of Israel have increased many percent during these difficult days in Israel.
Please pray for a very dear sister and leader in one of our sister congregations in Vitoria Brazil, sister Rita Sassai. She is hospitalized with coronavirus, and is on a ventilator. It is urgent for you, and for all of us, to pray for Rita and beg God for her full recovery.
Sarit, our sister from Jerusalem, is also in the hospital and needs our prayer. She is past 80 years old and needs our prayers.
India and Brazil are still very much in serious trouble with the coronavirus situation. We need to continue to pray for India and Brazil and especially for our dear brothers and sisters in these two countries.
I received a special prayer request from our dear brother Isaac in Chennai, India. Brother Isaac asked us to pray especially for sister Sheela Stephen. Sister Sheela’s lungs are in serious need of oxygen, and right now hospital oxygen is very hard to find for those sick with the coronavirus.
We pray that You Lord will save our brothers and sisters who have the coronavirus. We pray that you will provide the protection and the medical care that they need to survive and to continue praise You and to glorify Your name.
Please continue to pray for Marcia. She has definitely slowed down significantly. She has very little energy and she rests most of the day. I am praying and believing in the Lord’s grace for healing Marcia and restoring her ability to function and travel with me and to be a blessing to the local congregation and community and to our brothers and friends around the world. Pray for Marcia, please!
Marcia is scheduled to have cataract surgery on her left eye on June 7th. Please pray that her sugar diabetes levels will be balanced at the time of the surgery and for all to go well and for her eyesight to improve from this surgery.
Pray also for me. My left eye surgery is considered a great success by the doctors. They are very proud of themselves for the great work that they have done on my blind eye. They will be writing medical papers in some of the most prestigious medical magazines in the world.
Right now, I do see something, but it is like the description of the blind man whom Yeshua healed. He said, “I see people walking like trees.” I see now with my left eye like through a thick fog, but the doctors say that this situation will improve with time. This is for sure a true statement. In heaven I will have two good eyes that will see the visible and the invisible.
Our dear brother Yudah Chamero has finally returned home from Columbia. Yudah’s father is in Columbia contending with liver cancer. Please continue to pray for Yudah’s father.
Keep praying for the Rosenfeld family, the young and the old.
Please pray for a dear brother, Malcolm Thomas King, from the UK. Malcolm is already a week in the hospital in critical condition. I don’t have any new information from Malcolm and his family.
Please consider helping Netivyah to continue caring and feeding the poor of Jerusalem and blessing the people of this city that need help to feed their children and families.
Also we need your prayers and help to continue to do the Lord's work with the youth in Jerusalem.
Please pray for the Teaching from Zion publication that has been printed and distributed by the thousands around the world free of charge. You can also subscribe to receive the Teaching from Zion Magazine by mail, a hard copy. This too is free of charge. The Lord has always been faithful to supply our needs. He has also been precise and provided what we need, not too little and not too much.
The Hamotzi program for feeding the needy of Jerusalem is ongoing and has not stopped during most of the coronavirus lockdown and quarantine. The number of needy people who come to receive food from our program has increased and overall need has increased.
Please pray for Netivyah and for the Netivyah leadership and find ways to partner and participate in the great blessing that the ministry of Netivyah is here in Israel and also around the world. Please pray and seek ways to partner and contribute financially for the Lord’s work in Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Both Yehuda and I continue to teach on Zoom and on YouTube and on the Netivyah Facebook every week and sometimes every day. Please pray for these teachings to bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. Enjoy the very fine teaching and enjoy learning from God’s Word. It is all free of charge!
Please continue to pray for a very special kindergarten in Jerusalem “Little Hearts.” The director of this special kindergarten is one of our own from the congregation.
Keep praying for a dear sister, Livia Schnell Nothen. Please keep brother Philip Marc in your prayers. Pray for Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is the father of a dear sister in Brazil.
Pray for all those wonderful, dedicated brothers and sisters in Korea who stood with Israel and with Netivyah to revive and to not forget their first love for Israel and for Netivyah.
Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her health and her situation. Our granddaughter Noam is a senior in high-school and working with Zoom to finish her high school. Pray for the Lord to give Noam guidance and direction for graduation from high school.
Our grandson Joseph also needs prayer to be able to get into college with proper scholarships. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson to be protected and spared any contact and infection of the coronavirus. Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her health is failing.
I am adding a new prayer request from a leader of God’s people in India, Joy Mathew. Joy has a serious heart condition and has asked for prayer.

From Chennai, India, please remember Pastor Isaac. Pastor Isaac is an older man with severe kidney problems and has to have dialysis several times per week. Remember Tony and Louisa Tam, and our brothers and sisters at the 611 Church, and the other churches who love God and love Israel in that great city. Remember in your prayers the Cohen family in Hong Kong.
Just a word of grace before the mercy seat of the Almighty will be heard in favor of these brothers and Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy Abu-Eid and his family, Keijo and Salme our dear brothers in Finland, Tim Tucker, Satu-Maria, Sinni Tuuli, Anne Mirjami our dear sister and all our other brothers and sisters in Finland who need our prayers, Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia and Victor, and Aaron Tani, and Hillel and his wife.

Please pray for the Rantavaara family and especially for Pekka our dear brother and for his whole family. Pekka is in advanced stages of Parkinson and needs the Lord’s healing and strength.
I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus. His name is Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in Heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.

Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic.
I would like a new prayer request for a dear brother Yehuda Hochman who lives in the Negev Desert. Yehuda has to receive Dialysis treatment several times per week.

Noam our granddaughter also has her 18th birthday on May 1st. This is a very big day for Noam. She will be free from high school and also from other obligations and be privileged to make her own decisions and choices in life. Pray for Noam on this major crossroad of life for her and ask the Lord to bless Noam and to give her clear direction and guidance for what is good and right and holy in her life.
Both Noam and Joseph, our two grandchildren, are extremely talented and good students. Both are “A” students and excellent young people, but both need divine protection and guidance to make good and smart and right choices for life.
When I was 18 years old and cut off from my family because of my faith in the Messiah, I had no one on my side and no one to guide me. The Lord’s providential leading and guidance was the only guide that I had. I praise the Lord for His goodness and direction in my life.
I pray that both Joseph and Noam will have such divine strength and vision for their own future that only right and good choices will be their gift from the Almighty God of Israel and Yeshua our Lord.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children. Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
