가장 힘든 것 중 하나는 경이롭고 내용이 풍부한 이 하나님의 말씀에서 무엇을 논할지 선택하는 것입니다. 레위기 12장 말씀은 기독교권에서 자주 논의되지 않는 흥미로운 사항이 많이 있습니다. 레위기 12장 2절에는 기독교 주석가들이 종종 놓치는 흥미를 자아내는 의미가 있는데요, 종종 놓치는 이유는 그들이 그 구절의 핵심적 의미를 번역하고 히브리어 원문의 문자적 의미를 번역하지 않았기 때문입니다: “이스라엘 백성에게 일러 주어라. 여자가 아들을 낳으면, 그 여자는 칠 일 동안, 부정하게 될 것이다. 월경을 할 때처럼 부정할 것이다.” — 이것은 새번역 성경의 번역인데요, 대부분의 유럽 언어들의 번역도 거의 비슷합니다. 제가 번역한다면 다음과 같을 것입니다: “이스라엘 자손에게 말하여 이르라 여인이 임신하여 남자를 낳으면 그는 이레 동안 부정하리니 곧 월경할 때와 같이 부정할 것이며” 이러한 번역들의 문제는 그 번역이 단어보다는 문맥을 번역한 것입니다. 히브리 문구는 문자 그대로 번역하면 말이 좀 안 됩니다. 원문은 “여인이 임신하여 남자를 낳으면”이라고 말하지 않습니다. 랍비들은 탈무드 주석에서 논평한 레위기 12장 2절의 히브리 원문의 문자적 번역을 숙고했습니다: “여인이 씨를 품고 [남아]를 낳으면 …”. *바벨론 탈무드 니다 27b. ---- 이제 이 구절의 의미에 대해서 랍비들은 이렇게 말했습니다: “이샤 키 타즈리아” — “여인이 먼저 씨를 방출하면, 아들을 낳을 것이요” (레위기 12:2의 히브리 원문의 문자적 번역) 랍비들의 취지는 여인의 씨에서 아이가 생긴다는 것이 아닙니다. 여인이 남자처럼 생식기 [즉, 난소]가 있기는 하지만, 그 생식기가 씨를 만들어내거나, [혹 만들어지더라도] 그 씨는 두껍지 않고 태아에 아무런 기여를 하지 않는다는 것입니다. 오히려, 랍비들은 성교의 절정 때 어머니 안에서 모여 남아의 씨에 달라붙는 자궁의 피에 관해 “그녀가 씨를 방출한다”는 표현을 사용했습니다. 랍비들의 이 본문을 평이하고 분명하게 하자면, 랍비들은 주후 2세기 말에 이 본문을 히브리어 문자 그대로 이해했습니다. 즉, 성교 중에 먼저 끝낸 여인이 남아를 갖게 될 것이라는 것입니다. 남아는 생리혈과 같은 출생혈을 정결하게 하기 위해 8일째에 할례를 받아야 합니다. 이 본문은 왜 이스라엘 남아들은 8일째에 받아야 하는가에 대한 일종의 설명입니다. 성경에 쓰인 모든 단어가 성령님께서 우리에게 주신 하나님의 말씀이라고 믿는 예슈아의 제자들인 우리에게 왜 이 본문이 중요할까요? 이번 안식일에 전 세계 모든 회당에서 읽는 토라 포션의 이 본문에서 우리는 무엇을 읽을 수 있을까요? 이 질문에 대한 대답이 특히 흥미로운 이유는 누가복음 2장에 다음과 같은 말씀이 있기 때문입니다:
누가복음 2:21-24: “할례할 팔 일이 되매 그 이름을 예수(헬라어로; 히브리어로는 예슈아)라 하니 곧 잉태하기 전에 천사가 일컬은 바러라 22 모세의 법대로 정결예식의 날이 차매 아기를 데리고 예루살렘에 올라가니 23 이는 주의 율법에 쓴 바 첫 태에 처음 난 남자마다 주의 거룩한 자라 하리라 한 대로 아기를 주께 드리고 24 또 주의 율법에 말씀하신 대로 산비둘기 한 쌍이나 혹은 어린 집비둘기 둘로 제사하려 함이더라” 여러분이 레위기 12:2-8을 읽으시면, 누가복음의 이 본문이 전부 이번 안식일 토라 포션의 레위기 12장에 부속된 것이라는 것을 보실 수 있을 것입니다. 제게 매우 흥미로운 점이 이것입니다. 레위기 12장 2절의 문자 그대로의 히브리어 원문은 여인이 씨를 낳을 수 있다고 말합니다: “이샤 키 타즈리아” — “여인이 먼저 씨를 방출하면, 아들을 낳을 것이요” 이것이 문자적으로 히브리 원문이 말하고 있는 것입니다. 탈무드에서 랍비들의 주석은 이것을 분명하게 말하고 있고 이것이 어떻게 작용하는지를 설명하고 있습니다. 그러고도 그들은 훨씬 더 흥미로운 설명도 덧붙이고 있는데요, 예슈아께서 남자의 개입 없이 태어났다고 생각합니다. 레위기 12장 2절의 히브리 원문의 문자적 의미는 “여인이 먼저 씨를 방출하면”이라고 말하고 있습니다. 레위기 12장 2절은 씨를 먼저 생산하여 아들을 낳는 여인이 낳은 이 남아의 출생에 있어서 남성 상대자에 대해서는 아무 것도 말하고 있지 않습니다! 저는 예슈아의 출생에 대해 한 번도 의심하지 않았는데요, 왜냐하면 저는 언제나 이 세상을 말씀으로 창조하신 하나님께서 여인이 방출하는 씨에서 아들을 낳게 하시는 데에 아무 문제가 없을 것이라는 것을 믿었기 때문입니다! 하나님께서 한 날에 코끼리와 기린을 만드실 수 있으셨으면 남자를 만드시고 다음 날 남자의 갈비뼈 중 하나로 여자를 만드실 수 있다는 것을요! 여기에 남아를 낳는 여인에 대한 공식이 있고, 이 과정에 남자인 아버지에 대한 언급은 없습니다. 1절부터 8절까지 여자만 언급되고 있고 이 장면 혹은 이 과정에 남자에 대한 언급은 없습니다. 그런데 이 본문에는 여인이 씨를 가질 수 있고 남아를 낳을 수 있다는 힌트와 선택지가 있습니다. 제가 이번 안식일에 읽는 말씀 중에서 언급하고 싶은 다음 사항은 선지서 포션에서입니다. 읽는 말씀은 열왕기하 4:42~5:19인데요, 중요한 교훈이 많은 매우 흥미로운 본문이지만, 저는 많은 성경 말씀에 중요한 의미를 갖는 짧은 첫 부분에 집중하고 싶습니다. 음식이 배가되는 것은 토라에서부터 신약성경에 이르기까지 성경의 주요 주제입니다. 저는 왜 일부 사람들과 많은 기독교인들이 신약성경에서 예슈아께서 적은 양의 음식을 가지고 5천 명을 먹이신 이야기를 믿는 데에 어려움이 있는지 이해하지 못하겠습니다. 예슈아와 그분의 제자들에게는 피타빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있었습니다. 엘리사는 아주 적은 음식으로 100명을 먹였고, 사람들이 먹고 배 부른 후에도 솥에는 아직도 음식이 가득 남아 있었습니다! 유월절 전인 이번 안식일에 회당에서 읽는 이 두 이야기에서 우리는 무엇을 배울 수 있을까요? 예루살렘에서 유월절 세데르 식사는 2024년 4월 23일에 있을 것입니다. 엘리사의 멘토인 엘리야는 사실 음식을 배가시킨 이력이 있습니다. 하나님께서는 3년 동안 레바논(사르밧)의 이방인 과부의 기름과 밀가루를 배가시켜주셨는데요, 이 과부가 하나님의 사람인 엘리야를 먼저 돌봐주었기 때문입니다. 하나님께서는 그녀와 그녀의 아들에게 복 주셨는데요, 만약 그녀가 아합 왕과 그의 아내 이세벨이 죽이려고 찾고 있어서 이스라엘 땅에서 피신하여 사르밧 고을에 이른 이 낯선 히브리 사람 엘리야를 우선하지 않았다면, 그녀와 그녀의 아들은 굶어 죽었을 것입니다. 이 이방인 여인은 신약성경에서도 언급됩니다. 누가복음 4:25-26:
“내가 참으로 너희에게 이르노니 엘리야 시대에 하늘이 삼 년 육 개월간 닫히어 온 땅에 큰 흉년이 들었을 때에 이스라엘에 많은 과부가 있었으되 26 엘리야가 그 중 한 사람에게도 보내심을 받지 않고 오직 시돈 땅에 있는 사렙다의 한 과부에게 뿐이었으며” 전 세계 메시아닉 회중(교회)에서 논의될 토라와 선지서와 신약성경 포션에서 우리는 무엇을 배울 수 있을까요? 우리가 배울 수 있는 교훈 중 하나는 너무 간단하여 대부분의 설교자들은 그것을 놓치고 있습니다. 예슈아께서는 왜 기꺼이 엘리야의 말을 받아들이고 믿었던 레바논에 살았던 이 이방인 과부를 언급했을까요? 그녀가 그렇게 했을 때, 하나님께서는 거의 40년 동안 광야에서 이스라엘 자손에게 하셨듯이 그 땅에서 기근이 끝날 때까지 3년 동안 먹을 것을 꾸준히 공급하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 자연계의 모든 것과 자연계 바깥의 모든 것과 자연계를 초월하는 모든 것과 자연을 통제하고 계십니다. 이 교훈은 우리 모두에게 매우 중요합니다. 우리는 무엇보다 우리 삶의 많은 부분에서 우리의 불안과 두려움에 의해 좌지우지되기 때문에, 어쩌면 주로 교회나 회당에서 영적으로 하나님을 믿고 신뢰하는 사람들이지만, 이미 우리 손에 있고 우리가 통제할 수 있는 부분에서만 믿음이 있습니다. 신학적인 믿음은 성경적 믿음이 아닙니다. 성경적 믿음은 여러분이 믿는 교리이거나 믿지 않는 교리가 아닙니다. 성경적 믿음은 주님께서 저편에서 우리를 기다리고 계심을 알고 우리의 삶을 주님의 손에 맡기고 우리 육신의 눈에는 보이지 않는 다리 위로 발걸음을 내딛는 것입니다. 믿음은 25센트를 남기고 여러분의 마지막 달러를 헌금 바구니에 넣으면서, 하나님께서 25센트에 여러분을 일요일 오후부터 월요일 오후까지 플로리다주 마이애미에서 미시간주 로체스터까지 데려다주실 것을 믿는 것입니다. 저는 자랑하려는 것이 아니라, 자기와 자기 아들에게 한 끼 남았으나 그 마지막 한 끼를 하나님의 사람 엘리야에게 주고 굶어 죽자고 결단했던 이방인 과부를 통해서도 그분의 종들을 돌보실 수 있으신 만유이신 여호와께 영광을 돌리고자 하려는 것입니다. 이 믿음의 행동은 그녀와 그녀의 아들의 생명을 두 번이나 구했습니다. 첫 번째는 그 땅에 기근이 그칠 때까지 3년 동안 하나님께서 기름과 밀가루를 배가되게 하신 때였습니다. 하나님께서는 자연을 다스리시며, 그분께서 보시는 대로 우리가 무엇이고 누구인지를 좌우하십니다. 그렇습니다, 외적으로 물리적 세계 너머와 현재를 넘어 내일까지 보시는 그분의 눈에 보시는 대로입니다. 두 번째 교훈은 우리가 너무 근시안이어서 지평선이나 모퉁이를 돌아 10 미터도 볼 수 없다는 것입니다! 그래서 우리에게 하나님에 대한 진정한 믿음과 그분의 약속에 대한 신뢰가 없다면 우리는 두려워하고 얼어붙게 됩니다. 우리는 교회에서 이 찬송가를 부릅니다: 1 주님 약속하신 말씀 위에서 / 영원토록 주를 찬송하리라

“사랑은 오래 참고 사랑은 온유하며 시기하지 아니하며 사랑은 자랑하지 아니하며 교만하지 아니하며 5무례히 행하지 아니하며 자기의 유익을 구하지 아니하며 성내지 아니하며 악한 것을 생각하지 아니하며 6불의를 기뻐하지 아니하며 진리와 함께 기뻐하고 7모든 것을 참으며 모든 것을 믿으며 모든 것을 바라며 모든 것을 견디느니라 8사랑은 언제까지나 떨어지지 아니하되…” (고린도전서 13:4-8) 오랜 세월 예루살렘과 전 세계에서 가르치고 설교하고 네티비야를 세우면서 저는 참된 사랑을 보았습니다. 저는 예루살렘에 있는 저희 건물을 구입하는 데 도움을 주기 위해 자신의 보석을 파는 여성들을 보았고, 가난한 사람들이 월급을 바치고 아픈 자매를 돕기 위해 내일의 양식을 하나님에게 맡기는 것을 보았습니다. 저는 목사들과 지도자들이 좋은 것, 나쁜 것, 추한 것을 표현하고, 그들 교회의 성도들이 철저한 이기심과 엄청난 후함을 보여주는 것도 보았습니다. 그러나 시편 기자가 말한 것처럼, 다윗 왕도 본 적이 없는 이것을 저도 본 적이 없습니다:
시편 37:25: “내가 어려서부터 늙기까지 의인이 버림을 당하거나 그의 자손이 걸식함을 보지 못하였도다” 그러나 저는 주님보다 자신의 재물을 더 신뢰하는 부자들이 재물을 잃고 예루살렘 거리에서 구걸하는 것을 여러 번 보았습니다. 또 오늘은 주기를 거절하고 내일은 받고자 구걸하는 부자들을 보았습니다. 또 후한 사람이 행복하지 않은 것을 본 적이 없습니다. 또 주머니에 돈이 가득하고도 이기적이며, 부자가 아닌 이웃이 행복하고 관대하며 좋은 가족이 있고 자주 미소 짓고 행복한 얼굴을 갖고 있는 것을 보고 시기하고, 기분 나빠하는 사람들을 보았습니다. 친애하는 형제자매님들, 여러분은 자기와 자기 아들의 마지막 끼니로 하나님의 사람 엘리야를 섬기고 먼저 하나님의 사람에게 주었기 때문에 3년 동안 하나님의 공급하심으로 잘 먹을 수 있었던 레바논 과부처럼 하나님을 의지하고 다른 사람들에게 축복이 될 자유가 있습니다. 그렇습니다, 우리는 모두 자유로운 도덕적 행위자입니다. 우리는 두려워하며 재산을 움켜쥐고 그 위에 앉을 수도 있고, 하나님의 일, 가난한 사람, 병든 사람, 과부, 고아를 위해 나누고 기부할 선택권도 있습니다. 우리는 우리 구주 그리스도의 약속을 신뢰하며 씨를 뿌리고 우리와 우리를 위한 하나님의 선하심을 수확할 것을 기대할 수 있습니다. 저의 고백입니다: 저는 위에 쓴 내용에 항상 부응하게 살지는 못했습니다. 그러나 저는 항상 제 자신과 저에 대한 성경의 기대에 부응하고 싶었습니다! 저는 항상 나의 구원자이신 하나님의 약속을 믿고 그 약속대로 행하기를 원하고 있음을 고백합니다.

The Torah reading this Shabbat: Tazria from Leviticus 12:1 – 13:59.
The Haftarah reading from the Prophets: 2 Kings 4:42 – 5:19
The New Testament reading: Luke 2:22-33.
One of the hardest things is to choose what to discuss from these wonderful, rich texts from the Word of God. The Leviticus 12 text is rich with interesting points that are often not discussed in Christian circles. Leviticus 12:1 has an intriguing meaning that Christian commentators most often miss because they translate the essential meaning of the text but not the literal meaning of the Hebrew original text: 'Speak to the Israelite people thus: When a woman at childbirth bears a male, she shall be impure seven days; she shall be impure as at the time of her condition of menstrual separation.—This is the English Translations and it is much like most European languages that translate the Bible. If I translated the text from Hebrew, this is what it would read like ״Speak to the children of Israel, saying: A woman, when she conceives and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean for seven days; as in the days of her menstruation, she shall be unclean.״ The problem with these translations is that they translate the context rather than the words. The words in Hebrew don't make sense if they are taken literally. The text does not say, "A woman when she conceives and bears a male son!" The Rabbis consider the literal translation of the Hebrew text of Leviticus 12:2 in the Talmud tractate shi commented: "If a woman has conceived seed, and born [a male]…. *Babylonian Talmud Niddah 27b. ---- Now, with regard to the implication of the verse, the Rabbis have said: "Ishah ki thazria — "if the woman emits seed first, she will bear a son." (the literal translation of the Hebrew text of Leviticus 12:2.) The intent of the Rabbis was not that the child was formed from the woman's seed, although the woman had generative organs [i.e., ovaries] like the man's. Yet, they do not create the seed, or [if it is formed], that seed is not thick and does not contribute anything to the embryo. Instead, the Rabbis used the term "she emits seed" regarding the blood of the womb, which gathers in the mother at the time of the consummation of coition and attaches itself to the seed of the male." To make this text from the Rabbis plain and clear, the Rabbis understood the literal text in Hebrew at the end of the 2nd Century CE, that is, a woman during coition finishes first will have a male child. The male child has to be circumcised on the 8th Day to be purified of the blood of the birth, which is like the blood of menstruation. This text is a kind of explanation for why Israelite males have to be circumcised on the 8th Day. Why is this text important to us as disciples of Yeshua who believe that every word written in the Bible is the Word of God given to us by the Spirit of God? What are we reading in this Torah text on this Shabbat in every Synagogue worldwide? The answer to this question is especially interesting because in the Gospel of Luke chapter 2, we have the following text:
Luke 2:21: And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS in Greek (Yeshua in Hebrew), the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb. 22 Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD"), 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons." If you read Leviticus 12:2-8, you will see that the whole text in Luke is contingent on this reading on this Sabbath from Leviticus chapter 12. Here is what is very interesting for me. The literal Hebrew text of Leviticus 12:2 states that the woman can produce seed, "Ishah ki thazria — "if the woman emits seed first, she will bear a son." Literally, this is what the Hebrew Text says, and the commentary of the Rabbis in the Talmud says it clearly and explains how this works. Still, they also add an even more interesting explanation, considering that Yeshua was born without a male intervention. The literal meaning of the Hebrew text of Leviticus 12:2 says, "If a woman emits seed first!" This text of Leviticus 12:2 says nothing about a male partner in the birth of this male child born to a woman who produces SEED first and has a son! I have never had doubts about the Birth of Yeshua because I have always believed that the God who created the world with His word would have no problem having a woman bear a son from a seed that she emitted! If God could make an elephant and a giraffe on the same day and then create a man and a woman from one of his ribs the next day! Here, we have the formula of a woman giving birth to a male child, and there is no mention of the male father in this process. From verses 1 – 8, only the woman is mentioned, not meaning that there is no male in the picture or the process, but it is here a hint and an option in this text that a woman can have a seed and give birth to a male child. The next thing I would like to bring from our reading on this Shabbat is our reading of the prophets. The reading is from 2 Kings 4:42-45:19, a very interesting text with many important lessons, but I want to concentrate on the first short text with important implications to many Bible texts. The multiplication of food is a major theme in the Bible, from the Torah to the New Testament. I don't understand why some people and many Christians have difficulty believing the stories in the New Testament that Yeshua fed 5000 people with a tiny amount of food. Yeshua and His disciples had five pita bread and two fish. Here in our story, Elisha is feeding 100 people with very little food, and after the people ate and were satisfied, the cooking pot was still full of food left over! What can we learn from these two stories of the reading in the Synagogues this Shabbat, before the Passover? The Passover seder meal will be held in Jerusalem on April 23, 2024. Elijah, Elisha's mentor, actually has the record of the multiplication of food. For three years, God multiplied the oil and the flour of the gentile widow in Lebanon (Tzarfata) because this widow took care of Elijah, the man of God first. God blessed her and her son, who would have died from starvation if she had not preferred Elijah, a strange Hebrew man who just happened to arrive from the land of Israel to the town of Tzarfata because Ahab, the king, and his wife Jezebel were looking for him to kill him. This gentile woman is mentioned in the New Testament too. Luke 4:25-26:
"But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow." What can we learn from this portion of the Law, Prophets, and New Testament that will be discussed in messianic congregations worldwide? One of the lessons that we can learn is so simple that most preachers miss it. Why did Yeshua mention this gentile widow who lived in Lebanon and was willing to take the words of Elijah and believe them? When she did, God provided for her for three years until the famine in the land ended food with a steady supply, just like God did for the children of Israel in the wilderness for nearly 40 years. God is in control of all of nature, outside of nature, above nature, and in control of nature. This lesson is of great importance to all of us. Because we are controlled above all by our insecurities and fears, so much of our lives, even and maybe primarily those who believe in God and Trust him spiritually in church or Synagogue, but we have only faith in what we already have in our hands and only in what we can control. Theological faith is not a biblical faith. Biblical faith is not a doctrine that you believe or disbelieve; biblical faith is putting your lives in the hands of the Lord and stepping on a bridge that is not seen with our physical eyes, knowing that the Lord is waiting for us on the other side. Faith is giving your last dollars into the contribution basket, being left with 25 cents, and believing that God will take you from Miami, Florida, to Rochester, Michigan, from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon on 25 cents. I don't want to boast, but I do want to give credit to the LORD All Mighty, who is all in all and able to care for His servants even by a Gentile widow who had one meal left for her and her son and was ready to starve when she gave that last meal to the man of God, to Elijah. This act of faith saved her life and her son's life twice. The first time was when God multiplied the oil and flour for three years until the famine in the land ended. God controls nature and what and who we are in His eyes. Yes, in His eyes, that see beyond the outside physical world and beyond the now well into the tomorrow. 2. The second lesson is that we are so short-sighted that we can't see the horizon or 10 meters around the corner! So, we fear and freeze if we don't have genuine faith in God and trust in His promises. We sing in church: 1 Standing on the promises of Christ, my King,
Through eternal ages, let his praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God. Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God. 2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God, I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain] Russell Kelso Carter (1886) One of those promises of our Messiah and Savior is this:
John 7:33-35, "Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; 15 even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." This commandment that Yeshua gives us is not given to us in the past only, and not an expired command, but today's living command. If I may use some of Paul's words about love in this prayer list before the ending of this prayer list:
"Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; 6 rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; 7 2beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Love never faileth:" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) In my long years of teaching, preaching, and building Netivyah in Jerusalem and around the world, I have seen true love. I have seen women selling their jewelry to help buy our building in Jerusalem. I have seen poor people give their paychecks, trusting God for tomorrow's bread to help a sick sister. I have seen pastors and leaders express the good, the bad, and the ugly, and the members of their churches show total selfishness and great generosity. But like the psalmist, I have never seen this that King David has also never seen:
Psalms 37:25: "I have been young, and now am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread." But I have seen more than once the rich who trust their riches more than the Lord lose their wealth and beg in the streets of Jerusalem. But I have seen the wealthy who refuse today to give and tomorrow beg to receive. But I I have not seen any generous man who was not happy. But I Have seen those who are selfish and have pockets full of money envy and feel bad that their neighbor who is not rich is happy and generous and has a good family, a rich smile, and a happy countenance. You, dear brothers and sisters, have full freedom to trust God and be a blessing to others like the widow from Lebanon who served Elijah, the man of God, her and her son's last meal and was able to eat well for three years with God's provision because she gave first to the man of God. Yes, we are all free moral agents; we can fear and hold wealth and sit on it. Yes, we also have the option to share and give for God's work, the poor, the sick, the widows, and the orphans. We can sow the seed and expect a harvest of God's goodness for us and ours, Trusting in the promises of Christ our Savior. My confession: I have not always lived up to what I have written above, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE UP TO MY OWN AND THE BIBLE”S EXPECTATIONS OF ME! I CONFESS THAT I WANT TO ALWAYS BE TRUSTING AND WALKING IN THE PROMISES OF GOD, MY SAVIOR.

Your prayers for brothers and sisters you don’t know personally is a pure love and building of the Body of the Messiah. It is Agape Love since you are doing this without any selfish interests and casting a vote in heaven for someone who is your brother. Still, you don't know them, and God looks at these prayers that are unselfish and genuine expression of love and care for another link in the long chain of love and faith that binds us together even though we might not know each other in this world.
When we all get to Heaven, it will be a joy to meet people we prayed for and sometimes even cried for. Brothers and sisters who are physically strangers but spiritually a part of the same body of Christ, I believe that one day we will have the privilege to sit together and share: "I remember praying for you to be healed!" "I remember praying for you to be safe when you were fighting in Gaza to free the hostages from the cruel hands of the terrorists of the Hamas in Gaza."

In Finland:
Ester, a dear sister in the faith, is anxious about the results of some tests she has completed. We are thankful for the tests being done, and please pray for happy results. Waiting can be stressful, and we want to pray for her needs.
Mauno Lemponen has been diagnosed with cancer in advanced stages. We are asking for Gods Will to be done, giving him healthy days with family—prayers for Hilka, Miika, and Ester, who support each other.
Pray for Keijo and Salme, our dear partners and fellow workers in God’s flock. Both Keijo and Salme have some challenging heart issues.
Sipra, our dear sister in Nokia, is a widow with some health issues.

Pray for the Congregations related to Netivyah in Brazil to have the strength and stamina to face the challenges ahead of them with courage and strength of faithfulness to the Lord and to the vision of the restoration of the church and Israel.
Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:

Barbra and Angie in Alaska. Barbra has some pains and discomfort related to old age. Please lift them in prayer for strength and reduction in pain.

Pray for Steve Mock - His cognitive condition has declined, and we ask for the grace of God and His Healing and strength. Steve and Josie’s son Joseph has received a wonderful and glorious report. After the last bone marrow transplant, the report is that the doctors didn’t find any leukemia in his body! Praise the Lord!
