What would you see? What would you tell the people living in the land during that time; the period when the British were controlling the land? What would be their response if you told them that in twenty-eight years, they the Jewish people will have a country and it will be called the State of Israel. What would their response be? The first Aliyah to Israel took place in 1882. Twenty-five thousand people came to the land from Romania, Poland, Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe. They were well educated people that found themselves living in a hard place, an environment which was almost impossible to bear. Only five thousand remained from that first Aliyah. Eighty percent returned to their places of origin or immigrated to other lands. Looking at this through physical eyes, would you say it was a successful Aliyah or a failure? Personally, I see this as a big success, because they came as pioneers and they left their stake, their mark on the land so to speak. This opened doors for the second Aliyah. Fast forward one hundred years to today and we see a beautiful country with roughly nine million citizens. Israel, a modern state that is advanced in science, medicine, technology, etc. With all this advancement in the physical realm, we find ourselves a country which in the spiritual realm, is desolate. We the Messianic believers are the pioneers of Israel’s growth and development in the spiritual realm. In Ezekiel 37:14, the chapter on the dry bones, we see that God promises to bring the Nation of Israel back to the land. Looking at the time we are now in, we see a lot of challenges in the Messianic body. Included in these challenges are how to come together as a congregation for weekly services, prayer, meetings, home group and the like. Everything is online with no human contact, which puts us in a dangerous position of becoming isolated and separated. Beyond this there is a physical, spiritual, religious and governmental resistance to the Messianic Body in the land which is contributing to the challenge of the body not growing or even diminishing. However, let us not despise the day of small beginnings. Zechariah 4:10 We are in a birthing process. What do I see one hundred years from now (if Yeshua has not yet returned)? Picture that a believer from Harvest of Asher, living one hundred years in the future, returns to this time. What would he say to us? I believe in spite of the trials, the small number of believers in the land and all that is being done to stop our growth; the man from the future would say, “do not be dismayed, continue to stand and be faithful in what God has called you to do, good fruit will come of it.” We could not stand and do the work here in the land without the nations’ support through prayer and intercession.
