이번 안식일은 제게 아주 특별합니다. 저는 보통 네티비야에서 하는 주님의 사역에 대한 재정 헌금에 대해 편지를 쓰거나 말하지 않습니다. 그런데 이번 토라 포션은 “테루마”라고 합니다. “테루마”는 예물, 기부, 또는 헌물이라는 뜻입니다.
이 토라 포션은 하나님께서 모세에게 하시는 이 말씀으로 시작됩니다: 출애굽기 25:1-6, “여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되 2 이스라엘 자손에게 명령하여 내게 예물을 가져오라 하고 기쁜 마음으로 내는 자가 내게 바치는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라 3 너희가 그들에게서 받을 예물은 이러하니 금과 은과 놋과 4 청색 자색 홍색 실과 가는 베 실과 염소 털과 5 붉은 물 들인 숫양의 가죽과 해달의 가죽과 조각목과 6 등유와 관유에 드는 향료와 분향할 향을 만들 향품과” 이 본문을 설명하기 전에, 2024년 2월 17일 이번 안식일에 읽는 말씀은 다음과 같습니다. 유대계가 이번 안식일에 읽을 토라 포션은 출애굽기 25:1–27:19입니다.
선지서에서는 열왕기상 5:26-6:13입니다.
저희가 신약성경에서 읽을 부분은 마태복음 12:35-44입니다. 토라 포션의 이 본문 출애굽기 25:1-6을 면밀히 들여다보시기 바랍니다. 일정 금액의 돈이나 값진 것이 언급되지 않은 것에 주목하십시오. 출애굽 후 시내광야에 성막을 짓는 이 대대적인 첫 모금 행사인 여기에 10%인 십일조라는 것은 언급되고 있지 않습니다. 십일조가 처음 언급된 곳은 창세기 14:20입니다. 이 이야기에서 아브라함이 예루살렘 왕 멜기세덱에게 10%(십일조)를 드렸습니다. 그때는 아직 이스라엘 민족도, 레위인도, 제사장도, 성막도 없었습니다. 그러나 아브라함은 살렘 왕 멜기세덱에게 십일조를 드리는 것을 알았습니다! 토라에서 일반 이스라엘 대중에게 십일조를 드려야 한다고 처음 언급한 곳은 민수기 18장입니다. 시내광야에서 성막 건축을 위해 모금한 모든 기금과 값진 것들은 이스라엘 자손이 출애굽하면서 가지고 온 것들을 “자원하여 드린 헌물”이었습니다. 이스라엘 백성은 금, 은, 놋, 청색 천, 자색 천, 조각목, 성막의 등유, 숫양 가죽, 향료, 향품 등을 가져올 수 있었습니다. 신약성경에도 이스라엘에 있든 디아스포라든 예슈아의 제자들이 사도들이나 교회에 십일조를 드려야 한다는 명령은 없습니다. 두 번째 중요한 명령은 성막 건축을 위한 이 예물(헌물)에 붙는 다음과 같은 선행조건입니다: “기쁜 마음으로 내는 자가 내게 바치는 모든 것을 너희는 받을지니라.” 이 선행조건이 필수적입니다. 저는 오늘날 전 세계 복음주의 교회들 중 많은 교회들에서 일어나고 있는 일에 대해 우려하고 염려합니다. 그것은 잘못이며 거의 주술과 거짓 가르침이며 협잡꾼과 사기꾼의 짓거리와 같습니다. 다음은 서구 복음주의 기독교회에 편만한 가르침입니다: 여러분이 교회에 십일조를 내면 하나님께서 여러분에게 갚아주실 것입니다! 여기에 사용되는 법칙은 히브리어로 “미다-케네게드-미다!”라고 하는 성경의 위대한 당위 법칙입니다. 이 당위 법칙은 당신이 타인에게 행한 대로 당신에게 행해지며 헤아린 대로 헤아림 받는다는 것입니다. 마태복음 7:1-5은 이렇게 말합니다:
“비판을 받지 아니하려거든 비판하지 말라 2 너희가 비판하는 그 비판으로 너희가 비판을 받을 것이요 너희가 헤아리는 그 헤아림으로 너희가 헤아림을 받을 것이니라 3 어찌하여 형제의 눈 속에 있는 티는 보고 네 눈 속에 있는 들보는 깨닫지 못하느냐 4 보라 네 눈 속에 들보가 있는데 어찌하여 형제에게 말하기를 나로 네 눈 속에 있는 티를 빼게 하라 하겠느냐 5 외식하는 자여 먼저 네 눈 속에서 들보를 빼어라 그 후에야 밝히 보고 형제의 눈 속에서 티를 빼리라” 우리는 비슷한 맥락에서 동일한 법칙을 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 그것은 돈이나 금전적 가치가 있는 어떤 것을 드리는 것이나, 교회나 목사에게 헌금하면 횡재를 받는다는 것을 다루지 않습니다. 여러분은 하나님을 매수하거나 금전으로 하나님의 환심을 사거나 아니면 헌금으로 조종할 수 할 수 없습니다. 바울도 고린도후서 9:6-9에서 이 원칙을 사용하고 있습니다:
“이것이 곧 적게 심는 자는 적게 거두고 많이 심는 자는 많이 거둔다 하는 말이로다 7 각각 그 마음에 정한 대로 할 것이요 인색함으로나 억지로 하지 말지니 하나님은 즐겨 내는 자를 사랑하시느니라 8 하나님이 능히 모든 은혜를 너희에게 넘치게 하시나니 이는 너희로 모든 일에 항상 모든 것이 넉넉하여 모든 착한 일을 넘치게 하게 하려 하심이라 9 기록된 바 그가 흩어 가난한 자들에게 주었으니 그의 의가 영원토록 있느니라 함과 같으니라” 우리는 하나님께서 그분의 모든 길에 의로우시지만, 하나님의 의는 우리가 무엇을 드리거나 얼마나 많이 드리는가에 근거하지 않는다는 것을 끊임없이 인식해야 합니다. 하나님은 월스트리트 주식중개인이 아닙니다. 하나님께서는 우리의 돈이나 금이나 은이 필요하지 않습니다. 다음은 바울이 그리스 아덴(아테네)의 그리스 대법원 앞에서 한 말입니다:
사도행전 17:24-28, “우주와 그 가운데 있는 만물을 지으신 하나님께서는 천지의 주재시니 손으로 지은 전에 계시지 아니하시고 25 또 무엇이 부족한 것처럼 사람의 손으로 섬김을 받으시는 것이 아니니 이는 만민에게 생명과 호흡과 만물을 친히 주시는 이심이라 26 인류의 모든 족속을 한 혈통으로 만드사 온 땅에 살게 하시고 그들의 연대를 정하시며 거주의 경계를 한정하셨으니 27 이는 사람으로 혹 하나님을 더듬어 찾아 발견하게 하려 하심이로되 그는 우리 각 사람에게서 멀리 계시지 아니하도다 28 우리가 그를 힘입어 살며 기동하며 존재하느니라 너희 시인 중 어떤 사람들의 말과 같이 우리가 그의 소생이라 하니” 하나님께서 절대적 기준이 아니라 상대적 기준으로 우리를 보신다는 것을 보여주는 가난한 과부와 부유한 바리새인들의 이야기도 있습니다. 누가복음 21:1-4, “예수께서 눈을 들어 부자들이 헌금함에 헌금 넣는 것을 보시고 2 또 어떤 가난한 과부가 두 렙돈 넣는 것을 보시고 3 이르시되 내가 참으로 너희에게 말하노니 이 가난한 과부가 다른 모든 사람보다 많이 넣었도다 4 저들은 그 풍족한 중에서 헌금을 넣었거니와 이 과부는 그 가난한 중에서 자기가 가지고 있는 생활비 전부를 넣었느니라 하시니라” 하나님께서는 진심어린 마음을 바탕으로 한 관계에 관심이 있으십니다. 그것은 우리 은행계좌와 관계된 것이 아니라 우리 마음과 영혼과 동기와 다른 사람과 우리 가족에 대한 사랑과 관계된 것입니다. 이번 안식일에 읽는 신약 포션을 토라 포션과 연관시켜 보시기 바랍니다:
마태복음 12:33-37, “나무도 좋고 열매도 좋다 하든지 나무도 좋지 않고 열매도 좋지 않다 하든지 하라 그 열매로 나무를 아느니라 34 독사의 자식들아 너희는 악하니 어떻게 선한 말을 할 수 있느냐 이는 마음에 가득한 것을 입으로 말함이라 35 선한 사람은 그 쌓은 선에서 선한 것을 내고 악한 사람은 그 쌓은 악에서 악한 것을 내느니라 36 내가 너희에게 이르노니 사람이 무슨 무익한 말을 하든지 심판 날에 이에 대하여 심문을 받으리니 37 네 말로 의롭다 함을 받고 네 말로 정죄함을 받으리라” 다시 말씀드리지만, 하나님께는 마음과 마음의 의도가 우리가 드리는 금액보다 훨씬 더 중요합니다. 지갑에서 주는 것이 우리 마음에서 주는 것보다 훨씬 쉬운 이유는 뭔가를 주는 일에는 진심어리고 진정한 관계를 요하기 때문입니다. 우리 마음의 진심어리고 진정한 관계의 요소는 무엇일까요? 1. 하나님과 우리 인간은 우리 마음의 진심어리고 진정한 관계를 느끼고 알 수 있다는 것을 결코 잊지 마십시오. 사랑은 우리가 느끼는 실체적인 것이며, 우리는 서로에게 하는 말뿐만 아니라 우리의 행동과 감정과 본능으로도 그것을 압니다. 사랑을 알아채고 이해하는 것이 언제나 쉽지만은 않은 이유는 우리가 모두 우리 인간 지성의 어떤 면에서는 하나님 같은 복잡한 존재이기 때문입니다. 우리에게는 우리가 사랑하는 사람들과 우리가 사랑하지 않는 사람들이 언제나 이해하거나 알아주지만은 않는 생각과 계산과 아주 복잡한 일련의 필요들이 있습니다. 그러나 우리는 사랑에서 비롯된 것이 아닌 우리의 탐욕이나 사랑 외의 다른 동기에서 비롯된 뭔가를 그들에게서 얻고자 그들이 우리가 그들을 사랑한다고 생각하기를 원합니다. 2. 우리의 주는 방식과 우리의 관계를 평가하는 방식은 시간을 함께 보내거나 함께 있을 때 시간을 어떻게 사용하는지를 포함하여 우리가 언제 어떤 것을 다른 사람이나 하나님께 주어야 한다고 이해하는 바를 보여줍니다. 아시아, 특히 일본에서는 선물의 가치가 우리의 사랑의 가치를 보여주는 유일한 것이 아닙니다. 우리의 선물이 어떻게 포장되었는가, 그리고 우리 선물의 출처는 우리가 선물을 주는 그 사람이나 사람들을 얼마나 가치 있게 생각하는지 판단하는 지표입니다. 3. 진짜 관계는 또 진리에도 근거합니다. 사람들은 일반적으로 자신의 호의를 “사려고” 줄 때 무성의를 느낍니다. 때로는 조종하고자 하는 동기로 귀중하고 의미 있는 선물을 줄 수도 있지만, 이 동기는 대개 선물을 준 직후에 드러납니다. 하나님과 우리의 차이점은 하나님께서는 우리가 관계를 맺기 오래 전부터 우리의 마음과 동기를 아신다는 것입니다. 인간은 대개 우리의 동기를 인식하지 못합니다. 그래서 우리의 정성과 순진함을 이용해 먹는 위선적인 사람들의 손아귀에 떨어지는 경우가 많습니다. 4. 다른 사람과 함께 보내는 시간도 성의와 우리 마음의 의도를 보여주는 또 다른 요소입니다. 여러분이 함께 시간을 보내기를 꺼리거나 피하고자 하는 누군가를 정말로 사랑할 수는 없습니다. 이스라엘의 하나님께 대한 관계와 무성의한 예배에 대한 긴 비난의 말씀 다음에, 이사야는 이스라엘의 전능자와의 관계 회복과 재정립을 위한 간단하지만 근본적인 처방을 받습니다:
이사야 1:16–20, “너희는 스스로 씻으며 스스로 깨끗하게 하여 내 목전에서 너희 악한 행실을 버리며 행악을 그치고 17 선행을 배우며 정의를 구하며 학대 받는 자를 도와 주며 고아를 위하여 신원하며 과부를 위하여 변호하라 하셨느니라 18 여호와께서 말씀하시되 오라 우리가 서로 변론하자 너희의 죄가 주홍 같을지라도 눈과 같이 희어질 것이요 진홍 같이 붉을지라도 양털 같이 희게 되리라 19 너희가 즐겨 순종하면 땅의 아름다운 소산을 먹을 것이요 20 너희가 거절하여 배반하면 칼에 삼켜지리라 여호와의 입의 말씀이니라” 우리의 선물, 예물, 헌물을 가치있게 만드는 것은 액수나 포장이 아닙니다. 위대한 천지 창조주께서는 허다한 천사들과 함께 여러분의 사랑과 선물과 헌물과 그분과 그분의 백성과 보내는 시간을 보시며 기다리십니다. 하나님께는 저 가난한 과부가 헌금은 후하게 내지만 위선자인 자들보다 훨씬 더 인상적이었습니다. 하마스 테러조직에 대항하여 싸우고 있는 이스라엘군을 위해 후하게 헌금해 주신 모든 분들께 드리는 특별 감사 표현입니다: 1. 하나님 말고는 아무도 여러분의 마음을 알 수 없겠지만, 여러분의 행동은 이스라엘 병사들과 군당국에 놀랍고 강력한 말이 되어왔습니다. 2. 여러분의 선물이 가자지구와 이스라엘 북부 춥고 눈 덮인 헬몬산 꼭대기 살벌한 전장에 있는 저희 남녀 병사들에게 축복이 되었지만, 동서남북 모든 민족, 인종, 국적의 기독교인인 여러분이 아말렉에 못지않게 잔인하고 사악한 적과 의와 공평의 전쟁을 싸우고 있는 이스라엘, 유대, 기독교, 드루즈, 아랍 남녀 병사들에게 희생적으로 헌금하셨다는 사실이 더욱 축복입니다. 3. 과부든 부유한 자든 모두 똑같이 마음에서 내어주신 여러분이 이스라엘군 내 상당수의 남녀 병사들의 이스라엘을 사랑하고 이스라엘의 하나님을 사랑하는 기독교인들에 대한 태도와 이해를 바꾸었습니다. 바울이 로마서 15장에서 명한 것처럼 하나님께서는 이스라엘에 성의껏 기쁘게 헌금하는 자들에게 복 주십니다:

The Jerusalem Prayer List – February 16, 2024

This Shabbat is very special to me. I usually do not write or talk about financial contributions to the Lord's ministry in Netivyah. However, this Torah portion is called "Trumah". "Trumah" means a contribution, donation, or offering.
The reading starts with these words from God to Moses: Exodus 25:1- 6:
"Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 "Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart, you shall take My offering. 3 And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; 4 blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats' hair; 5 ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; 6 oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense…" Before I explain this text, here are the readings for this Shabbat on February 17, 2024. The Jewish world will read from the Torah on this Shabbat from Exodus 25:1–27:19.
From the Prophets from 1 Kings 5:26-6:13.
We will be reading from Mathew 12:35-44 from the New Testament. Look closely into this text from the Torah, Exodus 25:1-6. Notice that no set amount of money or valuables is mentioned. No tithe of 10% is mentioned here in this first major fundraising event for building the Tabernacle in the Wilderness of Sinai after the Exodus from Egypt. The first time tithing is mentioned is in Genesis 14:20. In this story, Abraham gives 10% (a tithe) to Melchizedek, the King of Jerusalem. There were no people of Israel yet, no Levities, Priests, or Tabernacle (Temple), but Abraham knew to give a tithe to Melchizedek, King of Salem! The Torah first mentions the requirement for the general Israelite public to give Tithes in the book of Numbers, chapter 18. All the funds and riches raised for building the Tabernacle in the Wilderness was a "Free will offering" of things that the children of Israel brought out of Egypt in the Exodus. The people of Israel could bring gold, silver, bronze, blue cloth, purple cloth, acacia wood, oil for the lamps in the Tabernacle, ram skins, spices and some sweet incense…". In the New Testament, there is also no command for Yeshua's disciples in Israel or the diaspora to give tithes to the Apostles or the church. The second instruction of significant importance is the following prerequisites for these gifts (offerings) for the Tabernacle building: "Everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering." These prerequisites are essential. I am worried and concerned about what is going on in many of the evangelical churches in the world today. What is going on is wrong and borders on witchcraft and false teaching, like charlatan and con-man jobs. This is the prevalent teaching in Evangelical Christian Churches in the West: If you give your Tithe to the church, God will give back to you! The principle used here is a great biblical and logical principle based on what is called in Hebrew Mida – Ceneged – Mida! This logical principle states that whatever you do unto others will be done to you, measure for measure. Matthew 7:1-5 says:
"Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First, remove the plank from your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." We find the same principle in a similar context. It does not deal with giving money or something worth money and receiving back a windfall if you contribute to the church or the pastor. You cannot bribe God, buy God's favor financially, or otherwise manipulate giving. Paul also uses this principle in 2 Corinthians 9:6- 9: "But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad; He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." We must be constantly aware that God is Righteous in all His ways, but God's righteousness is not based on what or how much we give. God is not a Wall Street stockbroker. He doesn't need our money, Gold or Silver. Here are Paul's words in Athens, Greece, before the Greek Supreme Court: Acts 17: 24-28, "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, "For we are also His offspring.'" We also have the story of the poor widow and the rich pharisee, which demonstrates that God looks at us on a relative basis, not absolutes. Luke 21:1- 4: "And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. 3 So He said, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had." God is interested in a sincere heart-based relationship, and that relationship is not with our bank accounts but our hearts and souls and motives and love for each other and our families. Please connect the reading from the New Testament this Shabbat with the reading from the Torah:
Matthew 12:33-36, "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word man may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." Again, the heart and the intentions of the heart are much more important to God than the amount of cash we give. Giving from our pocketbook is much easier than giving from our hearts because giving anything demands a sincere and authentic relationship. What are the ingredients of a sincere and authentic relationship of our hearts: 1. Never forget that God and we human beings can feel and understand a sincere and genuine relationship of our hearts. Love is a tangible thing that we feel, and we know it not only from the words we speak to each other but also from our deeds, feelings, and instincts. It is not always easy to notice and comprehend love because we are all complex beings, God-like in some aspects of our human intelligence. We have imagination, calculation, and a very complex set of needs that are not always understood or appreciated by those whom we love and those people whom we do not love, but we want them to think that we love them in order to harvest something from them that is not out of love but from our greed or some other than love motiv 2. How we give and value our relationship indicates that we understand when we give anything to each other or God, including time spent together and how our time is used when we are together. In Asia, especially in Japan, the value of the gift is not the only thing that indicates the value of our love. How our gifts are packaged, and the source of our gifts are judged are indications of how much we value the person or persons to whom we give the gift. 3. A genuine relationship is also based on truth. People typically feel insincerity, giving to "buy" their favor. Sometimes, you can give precious and meaningful gifts out of manipulative motives that usually reveal themselves soon after you give them. The difference between God and us is that God knows our hearts and motives long before we establish relationships. Humans usually do not recognize our motives, and that is how many people fall into the hands of insincere people who take advantage of our sincerity and innocence. 3. Time with each other is another factor that shows sincerity and our hearts' intentions. You cannot truly love someone you try to avoid or escape from spending time with. After a long, condemning text against Israel's relationship and insincere worship of God, Isaiah receives a simple but fundamental formula for restoring and rebuilding the relationship with the Almighty ONE of Israel:
Isaiah 1:16 – 2:1, "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, 17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. 18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; 20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword"; 2:1 For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." What makes our gifts, contributions, and offerings valuable is not the amount or the packaging. But the relationship of our hearts. Remember that the Great Creator of Heavens and Earth, with millions of angels, is looking and waiting for your love, gifts, offerings, and time spent with Him and His people. The poor widow was much more impressive to God than the hypocritical but generous offering giver. Special note to all those who have contributed generously to the Israeli military fighting the war against the Hamas Terrorist organization: 1. No one but God can judge your hearts, but your deeds have been a wonderful and powerful statement to the Israeli soldiers themselves and the military authorities. 2. Your gifts blessed our men and women in the bloody battlefields of Gaza and the North of Israel on the top of cold and snowy Mount Hermon, but the fact that you, Christians from as far as the east from the west and the north from the south of every race, color, and national identity, have sacrificed and made offerings to Israeli, Jewish, Christians, Druz, Arab, men and women fighting a just and righteous war against an enemy not less cruel and evil than the Amalek. 3. You who have given from your hearts, the widows and the wealthy, all alike, have changed the attitudes and the understandings of a significant number of men and women in the Israeli armed forces about the Christians who love Israel and love the God of Israel. God bless the sincere and cheerful givers to Israel, as Paul commanded in Romans 15:
25-29, "But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. 26 For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. 27 It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things. 28 Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. 29 But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ." Some final words on this teaching from the Torah portion, the prophets, and the New Testament about giving. The war against the terrorist group Hamas is not the most critical war that Israel and the Jewish communities worldwide are facing. The very cause and motive of the war of Israel against the Hamas in Gaza requires your prayers and your financial support. First, I want you, dear brothers and sisters worldwide, to know that it does not say that God loves the rich and very generous giver; it says that God loves a cheerful giver. The numerical value of the given amount is related to our hearts. Very few people will give significant offerings from their hearts and not be cheerful givers; one can be cheerful when he gives something from his heart. The amount of the gift is not the most important thing that God and men ought to look for as an indication of the hearts of our brothers and sisters. The relationship, communication, the packaging of love, and prayer of the givers of the offering and appreciation for God's love and grace make their desire to give good gifts and be blessings to Israel, as Paul states in Romans 15:25-29. An end note to this teaching: 1. It is hard to judge others for what they do and give to God, His people, and their churches. So, it is best not to judge anyone. 2. We have people who give monthly small amounts, sometimes even one dollar, sometimes 3 or 5 dollars. Some of these people, brothers, and sisters, give these 3 or 5 dollars from the food they take out of their mouths. I know and feel their love, sincerity, and standing with God, Israel, and the Lord's work in Netivyah, both in Israel and other parts of the world. My point is that the amount is much less significant to God and me. The faithfulness and consistency of the gifts are a much better and bigger indication of the heart of these people. 3. As I said above, the war in Gaza and the North of Israel is important. However, the truth is that there is a much more significant and crucial global war against Israel and God's people worldwide that is not addressed or even mentioned in most Christian churches. It is the war of those who hate God and hate God's people. There is no way that you can love God and Yeshua (Jesus) and hate His nation and his people, the Jewish people specifically. God loves all his children, the black and yellow, red and white. However, there is no other nation in the face of God's good earth that has a continual threat of more than one group of people and nations that have set their goal to wipe out the nation of Israel. This is the goal of the Hamas, and this is the goal of Iran both in their history (read the book of Esther) and present. Netivyah International and I have set a vision to fight against Antisemitism, Jew and Israel hate, in every way and in all the means that God is going to use to provide for this end-time war for the sake of Zion and the fulfillment of God's promises to the world and especially to the Church of sincere and truth-seeking Christians. How are small Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry and Netivyah International fighting and resisting the tsunami of anti-Israel, anti-Zionism – anti-Jewish attitudes and actions of violence and persecution around the world? Here is the game plan that I am proposing for Netivyah, and I am asking you first to pray for us to be able and have the means to accomplish this mega project. 1. I would like to publish material on the Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry and Netivyah International websites dealing with and exposing the anti-Jewish and anti-Israel oxymoron called Christianity. How could Christians be anti-Jewish? They read and supposedly believe the Bible, a Jewish book from Genesis to Revelation. 2. You cannot worship and love Yeshua Ben David Ben Abraham (as the words of the first chapter of Matthew start the Gospel.) and hate His nation, the nation of Israel – i.e., the Jewish nation. I want to be invited to churches of any denomination, even by the Pope in Rome, and spread out the Biblical and New Testament reasons why every Christian ought to stand with Israel and with the Jewish nation and defend and stand and protect the Jewish community in his town and his neighborhood. I realize that many call themselves Christians, but they are far from being disciples of Jesus (Yeshua). If you hate the Torah (Old Testament) and the Jewish people, you are not a disciple of the Messiah; you are a hater of God, the Creator of this world and our whole Universe. If you are in the middle Tennessee area, email me at the email address above and invite me to come and speak to you and your group only from God's Word about the relationship between Christians and Israel and the Jewish nation. God willing, I will be in the United States and in Middle Tennessee from February 22nd, 2024, to March 23, 2024, available in Middle Tennessee to speak to any church or group on the importance and imperative of Christians to stand with and protect the Jewish people. Solidarity with Israel is a biblical imperative from the New Testament. I will, God willing, return to Middle Tennessee from April 6 to 10. 3. I am sorry to state that I have been diagnosed in the last few weeks with pancreatic cancer and two cancerous lymph glands in my lungs. They are all stage 1, and the doctor states that a few more tests must be done to make the treatment plans. However, dear brothers, pray for my health and Marcia, my wife's health, which is essential to my healing. Please pray for my family's health and Israel and the Jewish communities all over the world. Please stand with us and with Netivyah both in Israel and Internationally. Pray for the state of Israel to open its doors to the Annusim, those Jews that were forced to convert to Catholicism with torture and burring Jews in the center of their cities in both Europe and Central and South America and even in Asia and persecution of every kind and between the 15th and 18th centuries. 4. Your prayers for brothers and sisters whom you don’t know personally is a pure love and pure building of the Body of the Messiah. It is really Agape Love since you are doing this without any selfish interests and casting a vote in heaven for someone who is your brother but you don’t know him or her, and God looks at these prayers that are unselfish and true expression of love and care for another link in the long chain of love and faith that binds us together even though we might not know each other in this world. When we all get to heaven what a joy it will be to meet people that we prayed for and sometime even cried for brothers and sisters who are physically strangers, but spiritually a part of the same body of Christ that one day we will have the privilege to seat together and share: “I remember praying for you to be healed!” “I remember praying for you to be safe when you were fighting in Gaza to free the hostages from the cruel hands of the terrorists of the Hamas in Gaza.
Continue serious prayers for our war with Hamas to end soon and all the hostages to be returned safe and in one piece home to their loved ones!
Pray for our soldiers and especially for the soldiers that we know and appreciate: Yuda, Emanuel the son of Victor and Ayala, Amiel and Solomon and Ezekiel Intrater, Reuven and Clil Kovner, and any other children of Believers and of course for all of the men and women serving this country.
I hate that our boys, the men of our congregation, still serve in the Army and most of them in reserves have to fight and use weapons and do war to protect the civilian population of Israel from terrorism driven by hate and blindness.
Please pray for the Middle East and for the world to see and understand what the reality is here in this part of the world. The lands that provided King David, the prophets, and Yeshua the Messiah – want peace with our neighbors.
But they don’t want the hand that is stretched out in peace. They want to kill all the Jews and take their land, which is flourishing and a blessing for all the world, and make it a dump like their own place in Gaza and in the Arab countries.
In Jerusalem pray for the following brothers and sisters who need divine grace and the gentle touch of the hand of God for healing and strength.

Your prayers for Alexander and Sarah, and Andrew, who were raised as believers and have left their faith behind, have been answered, the Divine Shepherd guided these members of the same family gently back to the fold, please keep praying for their general and spiritual welfare!

Brazil
Pray for the congregations related to Netivyah in Brazil, to have the strength and stamina to face the challenges in front of them with courage and strength of faithfulness to the Lord, and to the vision of the restoration of the church and Israel.
Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church, and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:
“But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. Steve Mock - His cognitive condition has declined, and we ask for the grace of God and His Healing and strength. Steve and Josie’s son Joseph - named after Joseph Shulam – has received a wonderful and glorious report. After the last bone marrow transplant the report is that the doctors didn’t find any leukemia his body! Praise the Lord!
