가자지구에서 전쟁이 시작된 지 62일째 되는 날입니다. 이 전쟁은 이스라엘 북부로도 번졌습니다. 62일 동안 악마같이 구는 인간들이 행하는 공포와 증오와 잔학과 짐승같은 짓이 저질러지고 있습니다. 짐승도 저들이 무고한 어린 남녀에게 저지른 짓은 하지 않습니다. 메시아의 제자이자 하나님의 말씀을 연구하는 학생으로서 우리는 옳고 그름에 대한 다른 기반을 가지고 있습니다. 우리에게는 솔로몬의 잠언과 우리 메시아 예슈아의 말씀이 있습니다. 솔로몬은 잠언에서 다음과 같이 말했습니다.

하마스와의 전쟁이 조속히 끝나고 모든 인질들이 안전하고 온전하게 그들의 사랑하는 가족에게로 돌아오도록 진지하게 기도해 주십시오!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – December 7, 2023

Day 62 since the war in Gaza started and it has spread to the North of Israel. Day 62 of horror and hate and cruelty and beastiality by humans that are acting like devils. Even Beasts don’t do what these people did to innocent young men and women. As disciples of the Messiah and students of the Word of God we have a different matrix for what is right and wrong. We have the words of Solomon in Proverbs and the words of Yeshua our Messiah. Solomon said in the book of Proverbs the following.
“If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;”. Proverbs 25:21 NKJV The New Testament repeats the words of King Solomon and adds a reason, “Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”” Romans 12:20 NKJV I would like to express a deep gratitude for all of you who have contributed and made it possible for Netivyah in Israel to be a part of the effort to bless the Israeli military with equipment and also with hot meals for the men and women in the front lines of battle. You can see in the many video messages that the soldiers have recorded to express their gratitude for what Netivyah is doing, all by the grace of God. It all started in the very first days of the war in Gaza when one of our elders in the congregation was in the USA and needed a quick but significant among of cash for the procurement of some important “stuff.” Netivyah under my direction immediately responded and made the payment by faith. Just 10 minutes after the payments were made in Jerusalem one dear brother who I asked for help immediately responded with most of the amount needed as matching funds. This act of faith from both Netivyah in Jerusalem, a by our dear office manager Daniel S. and by this brother from the USA – opened the gates of God’s storehouse and Netivyah has been able to provide everything from modern helmets that the men in the front lines needed to bullet proof vests with ceramic plates to protect our men in the front lines. Miracles dear brothers!! Miracles that Netivyah has received and spent nearly one million dollars to bless the Israeli soldiers in the very front lines. I personally appreciate your generosity and participation in the witness and blessing of Israel in the most needed and important moments of our now and modern history making war both in Gaza, in the south and in the Northern Galilee with the Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy. Thank you all and God bless one and all of you. This is not the end of the needs, but we appreciate so much what God has done through you until now. There is one note to mention for those in the United States of America who are planning to contribute through Netivyah for the war effort and in the future. I mention this because sadly this can cause difficulties for those who need the tax credit for their donations. Of course, the most important thing that you must do is pray for our soldiers who are fighting the front lines of battle. Israel has tried these wise words of King Solomon for 75 years. As a child I remember the Arab villages around Jerusalem well, I remember that they didn’t have running water, and no electricity and no paved roads, and the Arabs didn’t have jobs if Israel and Israeli companies didn’t employ them. Their homes were dark and small and crowded, and the number of university graduates among the Arab population in the 1950’s and early 1960’s was very very limited. The villages in Judea and Samaria in 1967 were and well into 1969 were the same no running water and no electricity and no farm machinery. The donkey and the bull were their tractors and hand winnowing and hand sowing the seed. Israel practiced the words of King Solomon and the same words repeated by the Apostle Paul. Go now and see villages like Anathote, the village that was the home of Jeremiah the prophet, not of Salah El-Din or Yasser Arafat. Ancient Gibeon, the Arab village of El-Gib, the Arab people lived like in the days of the crusades like 1000 years ago, go visit there now, and see the palaces and luxury villas with the most luxurious cars and their children have PHD’s from the Hebrew University. Yes, dear brothers the Palestinian Arabs are the most educated and the most pampered Arabs because they live in the state of Israel and earn their bread in the state of Israel and send their children to university in the state of Israel and go to the hospitals in the state of Israel! Yes, my dear brothers and sisters around the world, Israel practices more of the principles of God’s word than most of the so-called Christian countries. The world is blind and unfair with very short memory of what Jews suffered in the so-called Christian countries. I am happy that Israel as a Jewish State has acted like it has and I would be happy if Israel would continue to bless our Arab neighbors and that we all would learn to live in peace and prosperity like a large number of our dear brothers who are Christian Arabs would want to live with us. The Christians in the Arab countries suffer and there is almost no voice to cry out their cry because if they do they will suffer even more. I will not mention the number of Christian martyrs that have given their lives for their faith in the Arab countries and in Iran in the last few years. I will not mention the Churches in some neighboring countries that have on Sunday morning locked the doors of churches from the outside and set the church on fire with over 200 Christians roasting on an open fire and they were not chestnuts for Christmas season. Dear brothers and sisters, as a firsthand witness to some of these historical developments, I can say assuredly that Israel wants and seeks and works to live in peace with our Arab Palestinian neighbors. It is hard to do when your neighbor wants only one thing from you and that is to kill you and your children and rape your daughters and wives before your eyes. This by far is not the majority of the Palestinian Arabs, but the minority that sets the tone and the rules, a minority that leads by an iron fist and punishes anyone that says or looks to the other direction. History might not seem fair right now to anyone who is far from the middle of the frying pan! But history has a long memory and the final judgement and reckoning does come like a boomerang and the account is always balanced for everyone. Those who suffer and pay a high price for righteousness' sake always receive their rewards. Those who act like animals and worse than animals always pay the price, their children and grandchildren pay it for them. What happened on the 7th of October 2023, is impossible to express in word, and the pictures will leave most of you in trauma for days. There was beastiality that words could not express. I have seen the pictures the gang rape and of mutilation of young girls and the mass rape of both women and men, and mutilation in front of their wives and sons and husbands and then after the mutilation shot in the head and their family members taken hostage and still not released all for cruelty's sake that even the biggest horror movies of Hollywood could not imagine. The Torah and the word of God is described with words of light and a light that Israel is commanded to share with the nations of the world. The reading for this next Shabbat, the Shabbat of Hanukkah the feast of dedication as it is mentioned in one of the early documents that mentions this feast is the New Testament in John: “Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.” (John 10:22 NKJV). The feast of Dedication is the feast of Hanukkah. This is what this Hebrew word means, Dedication! Here is the list of readings that every synagogue on this Sabbath will be reading, we have added as disciples of Yeshua the reading in the New Testament. I can’t express enough the importance of reading the Word of God publicly every day and especially on the Sabbath day. There is a principle that I learned in the early 1960s reading the books of Marshall McLuhan: “The product is much more important than the salesman!” Preachers and God’s servants are only the salesman. the product is from Genesis to Revelation. Nothing will replace your personal and consistent daily reading of God’s Word. Don’t blame the preacher or the elders of your church for your shortness in understanding and knowledge of God’s Word. “You got to walk this lonesome valley you have to walk it by yourself, not body else can walk it for you You got to walk it by yourself!” Here is what we will be reading in our congregation in Jerusalem this coming Sabbath. The Torah reading will be from Torah portion called Vayeshev, in English this Hebrew word means Vayeshev, “settled” or “dwelled” in the land!” The reading will be from Genesis 37:1-40:23. And from the prophets the reading is from Zechariah 2:14- 4:7, and John 10:22-2*. A few words about Genesis Chapter 37:1-40:23. This is not a short reading, but it has in it a very significant reading that concerns us all. Jacob and his family finally crossed the Jabok river from east to west and settled in the land of Canaan, the land that God promised to his grandfather Abraham as an eternal inheritance. Crossing that Jabok River. – An Angel of the Lord fought with Jacob and Jacob had the best of this battle and his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. The birth of Israel was already born in a struggle and a battle between God’s angel and Jacob. This battle in the middle of the night alone against the Angel of the Lord changed the character and the relationship between Jacob and God and between Jacob and history. Our reading of the Torah this Shabbat starts with a very strange beginning: “This is the history of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.” Genesis 37:2NKJV. Bingo, suddenly a new actor enters central stage, Joseph. We don’t know much about this Joseph up to this point in the biblical text. All we know about him is that he is the son of Rachel, Jacob’s beloved wife for whom he worked 14 years to get married to her. At the very beginning of this reading Jacob the patriarch is pushed aside from history and Joseph, little old Joseph, takes the centre stage in the history of the children of Abraham’s family. The first thing that we hear about Joseph is that he is beloved by his father and that he is a snitch and brings bad reports about his brothers to his father Jacob. This is how the saga of Joseph starts in our Torah reading this week. For me this is a small window that shows how God works with us, human beings. The second son of Jacob’s beloved wife Rachel, not the first born but the next to the last born from Jacob’s loins. He goes out with his older brothers and the first thing that the Holy Spirit is telling us that “Joseph brought a bad report to his father” about his brothers. Now if I am candid with you dear readers the truth is that no one likes a person who behind his brother’s back goes to tattletale about his elder brothers. Here you have it – the hate and dislike that Joseph’s brothers had against Joseph was not a part of their evil nature, but a normal human reaction to someone who can’t be naturally a part of the gang, a part of the group a part of the family. Joseph is some little squirt that can’t be a part of the “gang” a trusted friend. Joseph has made himself an outsider inside his own family. In our own chapter because of dreams of grandeur, or shall I say megalomaniac dreams of him being the SUN and his brothers are little stars prancing around him and giving him homage. The next dream even his father and his mothers are bowing down to little old snitching Joseph. But here comes the big ABBA of us all, God who gave Joseph these dreams, God who is using and infusing and encouraging little Joseph to be what he is, a social waking bomb. Here is the place for us to learn a little how God works in our lives and in the lives of our families and in our world. Some times dear brothers and sisters God uses people from birth or an early age and engineers their life with a set of hardships and tests that form a kind a boot-camp of hardships to prepare these people for Mega historical acts of “salvation” – acts of super circumstantial plug-ins into the history of salvation for the whole world. Here are some of my observations from this story of Joseph and his brothers and Joseph in Egypt that might be helpful for us to see the diamonds in the rough before we reject them as difficult and unproductive and useless individuals that it is never pleasant to be about and around them. If you look into history, you will find some definite expressions of such individuals who you might want to stay away from them, but who finally turn out to be extraordinary. What would be considered the rejects of society people who it is unpleasant to be around them that turn out to be the cream of the crop the most helpful and greatest contributors to the positive outcome for society in general and for humanity specifically. Please read the whole text of our Torah portion this week, Genesis chapter 37 through Genesis chapter 44. It is a bit long Torah reading in the synagogue in public, but it would take you only 20 to 30 minutes for a focused and pay attention type reading. It is worth it if you keep in mind what I have written above. The story becomes more intense and more amazing as you get into it, and you can reflect on Yeshua our Messiah being a character at least a little bit like Joseph, and his life has several similarities and parallels with the story of Joseph, and that is why in Judaism there are two messiah’s – son of Joseph that fits Isaiah chapter 53 and son of David that fits Isaiah chapter 63…. The first coming despised and rejected messiah of Isaiah 53, and the triumphant messiah riding on a horse not on a donkey. This messiah is royal and has a sword dripping blood in his hand! A messiah that didn’t come to suffer for our transgressions like in chapter 53, but can to reign and rule and exact punishment from His enemies. Please do the reading that I recommended above! Please do the following for yourself and for Israel’s sake and for the Lord the King of the Jews who will return to Zion with judgment of humanity in the righteousness of his resurrection. Stand with Israel, help us continue to bless the Israeli soldiers in the very front lines in Gaza and in the north with the Iranian proxy who is shooting rockets on Israeli civilian population all through the Galilee. Pray for Israel, help Jews in your area by giving them a good word an encouraging statement like, “WE stand with Israel, and love the Jewish people! Our savior is a Jew! We love Israel!” ______________________________________________________________________ Dear brothers and sisters, now is the time! Let us come together in prayer especially for each and every person who is dealing up close with this horrible situation. We invite each and every person who is ready and able to give to please do so, for the purpose of providing necessary aid to those suffering from the war that Israel is experiencing right now! We also encourage you to share with others you know for whom Israel is close to their hearts, who may wish to take part as well in supporting our soldiers and civilians on the frontlines. We have the long list of prayer requests from all around the world, and I know for sure how important it is for you to lift these brothers and sisters in prayer.
Your prayers for brothers and sisters whom you don’t know personally is a pure love and pure building of the Body of the Messiah. It is really Agape Love since you are doing this without any selfish interests and casting a vote in heaven for someone who is your brother but you don’t know him or her, and God looks at these prayers that are unselfish and true expression of love and care for another link in the long chain of love and faith that binds us together even though we might not know each other in this world. When we all get to heaven what a joy it will be to meet people that we prayed for and sometime even cried for brothers and sisters who are physically strangers, but spiritually a part of the same body of Christ that one day we will have the privilege to seat together and share: “I remember praying for you to be healed!” “I remember praying for you to be safe when you were fighting in Gaza to free the hostages from the cruel hands of the terrorists of the Hamas in Gaza.
Serious prayers for our war with Hamas to end soon and all the hostages to be returned safe and in one piece home to their loved ones!
Pray for our soldiers and especially for the soldiers that we know and appreciate: Yuda, Emanuel the son of Victor and Ayala, Amiel and Solomon and Ezekiel Intrater, Reuven and Clil Kovner, and any other children of Believers and of course for all of the men and women serving this country.
I hate that our boys, the men of our congregation, still serve in the Army and most of them in reserves have to fight and use weapons and do war to protect the civilian population of Israel from terrorism driven by hate and blindness.
Please pray for the Middle East and for the world to see and understand what the reality is here in this part of the world. The lands that provided King David, the prophets, and Yeshua the Messiah – want peace with our neighbors.
But they don’t want the hand that is stretched out in peace. They want to kill all the Jews and take their land, which is flourishing and a blessing for all the world, and make it a dump like their own place in Gaza and in the Arab countries.
In Jerusalem pray for the following brothers and sisters who need divine grace and the gentle touch of the hand of God for healing and strength.
Ilana Ahijervie, a dear sister who is 98 years old and suffering from memory problems.
Please pray for our dear sister Lea Kurkey.
Sarit, a sister born in Jerusalem, over 88 years old, lives alone. Has no close family, and suffers from several old-age illnesses.
Please keep praying for Marcia Shulam my wife. Pray that Marcia’s memory will stop weakening, and that her arthritis be healed and stop being active, and her strength to return to where she can take more care of herself.
Also ask prayer for me and my family and for all the sick and needing healing and grace from our Heavenly Father!
Your prayers for Alexander and Sarah, and Andrew, who were raised as believers and have left their faith behind, have been answered, the Divine Shepherd guided these members of the same family gently back to the fold, please keep praying for their general and spiritual welfare!

Pray for the congregations related to Netivyah in Brazil, to have the strength and stamina to face the challenges in front of them with courage and strength of faithfulness to the Lord, and to the vision of the restoration of the church and Israel.
Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church, and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:
“But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. The South shall possess the mountains of Esau, And the Lowland shall possess Philistia. They shall possess the fields of Ephraim And the fields of Samaria. Benjamin shall possess Gilead. And the captives of this host of the children of Israel Shall possess the land of the Canaanites As far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Shall possess the cities of the South. Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” — Obadiah 1:17-21 [NKJV]

Also, pray for Ilana Avramov who is married to my cousin Nissim and lives in New York City. Ilana has fallen and in now in rehab learning how to walk again. We pray for her full recovery. She and Nissim both need our prayers.
Steve Mock - His cognitive condition has declined, and we ask for the grace of God and His Healing and strength. Steve and Josie’s son Joseph - named after Joseph Shulam – has received a wonderful and glorious report. After the last bone marrow transplant the report is that the doctors didn’t find any leukemia his body! Praise the Lord!
