예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2021년 3월 4일

이번 주 토라 포션은 ‘키 티사’, 출애굽기 30:10~34:35입니다. 이번 주 역시 특별한 네 안식일 중 하나로, “샤밧 파라” - 암소, 붉은 암송아지의 안식일이라고 부릅니다. 토라 중에서 추가적으로 읽는 부분은 민수기 19:1-22입니다. 이것은 모든 의례적 정결 문제와 문둥병에서 정결케 함에 특별한 기능이 있는 붉은 암송아지(붉은 암소) 이야기입니다.
선지자의 글에서 읽는 말씀은 열왕기상 18:1-39, 갈멜산 정상에서의 엘리야의 대결 사건이며, 추가적으로 읽는 말씀은 에스겔 36:16-38입니다. 신약성경에서 읽는 말씀은 고린도후서 3:1-18입니다. 이번 안식일에 읽는 모든 말씀이 아주 중요하며 아주 흥미롭습니다. 저는 모세가 바위에 서있는 동안 주님께서 자신을 모세에게 드러내신 아주 특별한 이 계시를 논하고 싶습니다. 저는 출애굽기 34:5-7 이 말씀이 하나님 그분과 그분의 성품과 본성을 이해하는 데에 열쇠라고 믿습니다. 제게는 개인적으로 주님과, 그분께서 사람과 특별히 이스라엘과 일하시는 방식을 이해하는 것이 가장 흥미롭고 가장 계시적입니다. 다음은 그 본문입니다: “모세가 이르되 원하건대 주의 영광을 내게 보이소서 여호와께서 이르시되 내가 내 모든 선한 것을 네 앞으로 지나가게 하고 여호와의 이름을 네 앞에 선포하리라 나는 은혜 베풀 자에게 은혜를 베풀고 긍휼히 여길 자에게 긍휼을 베푸느니라 또 이르시되 네가 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리니 나를 보고 살 자가 없음이니라 여호와께서 또 이르시기를 보라 내 곁에 한 장소가 있으니 너는 그 반석 위에 서라 내 영광이 지나갈 때에 내가 너를 반석 틈에 두고 내가 지나도록 내 손으로 너를 덮었다가 손을 거두리니 네가 내 등을 볼 것이요 얼굴은 보지 못하리라 여호와께서 모세에게 이르시되 너는 돌판 둘을 처음 것과 같이 다듬어 만들라 네가 깨뜨린 처음 판에 있던 말을 내가 그 판에 쓰리니 아침까지 준비하고 아침에 시내 산에 올라와 산 꼭대기에서 내게 보이되 아무도 너와 함께 오르지 말며 온 산에 아무도 나타나지 못하게 하고 양과 소도 산 앞에서 먹지 못하게 하라 모세가 돌판 둘을 처음 것과 같이 깎아 만들고 아침에 일찍이 일어나 그 두 돌판을 손에 들고 여호와의 명령대로 시내 산에 올라가니 여호와께서 구름 가운데에 강림하사 그와 함께 거기 서서 여호와의 이름을 선포하실새 여호와께서 그의 앞으로 지나시며 선포하시되 여호와라 여호와라 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하고 인자와 진실이 많은 하나님이라 인자를 천대까지 베풀며 악과 과실과 죄를 용서하리라 그러나 벌을 면제하지는 아니하고 아버지의 악행을 자손 삼사 대까지 보응하리라.” – 출애굽기 33:18 - 34:7 이 말씀이 아주 중요하지만, 요한복음 1장에서 예슈아께서 하나님의 말씀이시며, 하나님의 말씀은 하나님이시라는 것을 믿는 우리에게, 이 말씀은 요한복음 1:1-17에서 계속되는 말씀을 이해하는 데에 하나의 열쇠입니다. 출애굽기 33:18 말씀을 주목해 봅시다. 모세는 하나님을 보기를 청하고, 주님께서는 모세에게 그 어떤 사람도 그분의 얼굴을 보고는 살지 못한다고 말씀하시지만, 그분께서는 그분의 선한 것이 모세 앞을 지나가게 하시며 주님의 이름이 모세에게 계시되게 하십니다. 모세는 바위 위에 서 있을 것이고 하나님께서는 모세에게 그분의 자비를 나타내 보이실 것입니다. 먼저 모세가 새로 두 돌판을 잘라 산으로 올라가 바위 위에 서야 합니다. 그러면 하나님께서 “내 영광이 지나갈 때에 내가 너를 반석 틈에 두고 내가 지나도록 내 손으로 너를 덮을 것이다.” 하십니다. 모세는 바위 위로 올라가고 주님께서 지나가시고 모세가 하나님의 등을 보고 아주 중요한 이 선포를 듣습니다: “여호와라 여호와라 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하고 인자와 진실이 많은 하나님이라.” 제가 이 말씀에서 집어내고 싶은 몇 가지 사항이 있습니다: 첫째, 하나님의 자신에 대한 선포에는 아무런 판단이나 정죄가 없습니다. 둘째, 그분께서는 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하시고 인자와 진실이 많으십니다. 셋째, 여기 문제가 있습니다. 히브리 원문에는 이렇게 말합니다: “라훔 베하눈 에렠 아파임 베랍 헤세드 베에멭” 이것은 “자비롭고 은혜롭고 느리게 노하시고 은혜와 진리가 충만하다”는 뜻입니다. 기독교 번역본에는 “은혜와 진리” 대신 “선함과 진리(인자와 진실)가 많은”이라고 말합니다. 이것은 대부분의 기독교 번역본에 있는 패턴입니다. 구약성경에는 “은혜와 진리”라는 문구가 한 번도 나오지 않습니다. 이 문구는 딱 두 번, 둘 다 요한복음에 나오는데요, 1장 14절과 17절입니다. 대부분의 구약성경 기독교 번역본에는 “은혜와 진리”라는 문구가 전혀, 심지어 이번 원문 출애굽기 34:5,6에도 나오지 않습니다. 타낰(구약성경) 히브리 원전에서는 다음 구절에 “은혜와 진리”라는 문구가 분명히 나옵니다: 창세기 24:27, 49; 47:29; 출애굽기 34:6; 여호수아 2:14; 사무엘하 2:6; 15:20; 열왕기상 3:6; 이사야 16:5; 호세아 4:1; 미가 7:20; 스가랴 7:9; 시편 25:10; 26:3; 40:11,12; 57:4,11; 61:8; 69:14; 85:11; 86:15; 89:15; 108:5; 115:1; 117:2; 138:2; 잠언 3:3; 14:22; 16:6; 20:28. 앞의 목록 중에서 구체적인 예를 몇 구절 제시해 드리겠습니다: “여호와께서 그의 앞으로 지나시며 선포하시되 여호와라 여호와라 자비롭고 은혜롭고 노하기를 더디하고 인자와 진실이[은혜와 진리가] 많은 하나님이라.” – 출애굽기 34:6 “너희가 이 일을 하였으니 이제 여호와께서 은혜와 진리로 너희에게 베푸시기를 원하고 나도 이 선한 일을 너희에게 갚으리니” – 사무엘하 2:6 “인애와 진리[은혜와 진리]가 같이 만나고 의와 화평이 서로 입맞추었으며” – 시편 85:10 “인자와 진리[은혜와 진리]로 인하여 죄악이 속하게 되고 여호와를 경외함으로 말미암아 악에서 떠나게 되느니라.” – 잠언 16:6 여러분은 뉴킹제임스버전 잠언에서 번역자들이 “은혜와 진리”에 가깝게 번역했지만, 여전히 은혜에 대해 다른 단어, 유의어인 “인자”를 사용한 것을 볼 수 있을 것입니다. 기독교 번역자들은 왜 그렇게 열심히 “은혜와 진리”라는 문구를 가리기 위해 힘썼을까요? 그 이유는 간단합니다. 요한복음 1:14,17을 오해한 것입니다. “은혜와 진리”가 예수 그리스도에게서 비롯된다면, 어떻게 토라와 구약성경에 “은혜와 진리”가 있을 수 있겠습니까? 그래서 가장 쉬운 방법은 원래 히브리 문구를 훈련되지 않은 눈에 유의어로 가리는/숨기는/위장하는 것입니다. 그러면 히브리어를 모르고 구약성경을 읽지 않는 이들은 은혜와 진리가 하나님의 본성과 성품 깊숙한 곳에서 나온다는 것을 결코 모를 것입니다. 아주 많은 번역본에 감춰진 히브리 원문의 다른 단어들도 있습니다. 이런 단어들 중 으뜸은 “복음”인데요, 히브리어로 “베소라”(헬라어로는 “에반겔리움”)입니다. 영어로는 구약성경에서 똑같은 단어가 “좋은 소식”으로 번역되었고, 신약성역에서는 비-영어 단어인 “가스펠(복음)”로 번역되었습니다. “가스펠”이라는 단어는 특히 켈틱어와 독일어 “곹스필”에서 채용되었는데요, “하나님의 이야기”라는 뜻입니다. 그 결과는 여러분이 신약성경에서는 “좋은 소식”이라는 단어를 볼 수 없고, 구약성경에서는 “가스펠”이라는 단어를 볼 수 없다는 것입니다. 요한복음 1장은 사실 출애굽기 33:18~34:7의 전형적인 미드라쉬(성경 본문에 대한 랍비식 가르침 혹은 해석)입니다. 본문에서 쉽게 두 가지 중요한 공통 요소를 볼 수 있습니다: 누가 하나님과, 은혜와 진리를 보았는가. 붉은 암송아지(민수기 19장)에 대한 코멘트를 한 가지 더 하자면, 이것은 진 밖에서 제사 드려졌습니다. 히브리서 13장 본문은 예슈아께서 붉은 암송아지처럼 진(성) 밖에서 제사 드려졌다고 말하고 있습니다. 그리고 이제 진 안에는 우리를 정결케 하기 위한 곳이 없으므로 우리도 예슈아처럼 진 밖으로 나가 우리를 죄에서 정결케 하는 것을 찾아야 합니다. “우리에게 제단이 있는데 장막에서 섬기는 자들은 그 제단에서 먹을 권한이 없나니 이는 죄를 위한 짐승의 피는 대제사장이 가지고 성소에 들어가고 그 육체는 영문 밖에서 불사름이라 그러므로 예수도 자기 피로써 백성을 거룩하게 하려고 성문 밖에서 고난을 받으셨느니라 그런즉 우리도 그의 치욕을 짊어지고 영문 밖으로 그에게 나아가자 우리가 여기에는 영구한 도성이 없으므로 장차 올 것을 찾나니.” – 히브리서 13:10-14 이 개념은 우리가 우리 주 예슈아를 따라, 그분의 제자로서 예슈아와 함께 결속되어 머물기 위해, 정결케 되어야 할 필요가 충족되기 위해 필요하다면 진 밖으로 나가야 한다는 것입니다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – March 4, 2021

The Torah Portion this week is Ki Tisa – Exodus 30:10 – 34:35. This is also one of the four special Sabbaths and it is called “Shabbat Para” – Shabbat of the Cow, the Red Heifer. The additional portion of the Torah is read from Numbers 19:1-22. It is the story of the Red Heifer (a red cow) that has a special function in all the issues of ritual purity and the purification from leprosy.
From the Prophets the reading is from 1 Kings 18:1-39, Elijah’s ordeal on top of Mount Carmel and also an additional reading from Ezekiel 36:16-38. From the New Testament the reading is from 2 Corinthians 3:1-18. Every one of the readings on this Shabbat is very important and very interesting. I want to discuss this very special revelation that the Lord Himself reveals to Moses, while Moses is standing on the rock. I believe that this text from Exodus 34:5-7 is a key to understanding God Himself, His character and nature. For me personally understanding the Lord and how He works with humans and especially with Israel is most interesting and the most revealing. Here is the text : “And he said, ‘Please, show me Your glory.’ Then He said, ‘I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.’ But He said, ‘You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.’ And the Lord said, ‘Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.’ And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke. So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain. And no man shall come up with you, and let no man be seen throughout all the mountain; let neither flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.’ So he cut two tablets of stone like the first ones. Then Moses rose early in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him; and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone. Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.’” – Exodus 33:18 - 34:7 [NKJV] This text is very important, but for those of us who believe that Yeshua is the Word of God and that the Word of God is God, from the Gospel of John chapter 1, this text is a key for understanding what is going on in John chapter 1:1-17. Let us note from the text in Exodus 33:18, Moses asks to see God, the Lord tells Moses that no man can see His face and live, but He will make His goodness pass before Moses and the Lord’s name will be revealed to Moses. Moses will stand on the rock and God will reveal to Moses His mercy. First Moses is to cut two new tablets of stone (the second set) and come up the mountain and stand on the Rock and, “I will put you in the cleft of the rock and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by.” Moses goes up onto the rock and the Lord passes by and Moses sees the back of God and hears this very important proclamation: “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,” Now there are a few notes that I want to point out from this text: First, in God’s self-proclamation there is no judgment or condemnation. Second, He is merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth… And third – here comes the problem. In the Hebrew text it says the following: “rahum v’hanun erech apayim v’rav hesed v’emet”, meaning, “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and full of grace and truth.” In the Christian translations in place of “grace and truth”, it says, “abounding in goodness and truth.” This is the pattern in most Christian translations. The phrase “grace and truth” in the Old Testament appears zero times. This phrase appears only twice, and both times are in the Gospel of John chapter 1, verses 14 and 17. In most Christian translations of the Old Testament, the phrase “grace and truth” does not appear at all, not even in this source, in Exodus 34:5,6. The Hebrew text of the Tanach has the following places where the phrase, “Grace and Truth” appears clearly: Genesis 24:27, 49; 47:29; Exodus 34:6; Joshua 2:14; 2 Samuel 2:6; 15:20; 1 Kings 3:6; Isaiah 16:5; Hosea 4:1; Micah 7:20; Zechariah 7:9; Psalms 25:10; 26:3; 40:11,12; 57:4, 11; 61:8; 69:14; 85:11; 86:15; 89:15; 108:5; 115:1; 117:2; 138:2; and Proverbs 3:3; 14:22; 16:6; 20:28. Let me just give you a few tangible examples from the above list: “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth…’” – Exodus 34:6 [NKJV] “And now may the Lord show kindness and truth to you. I also will repay you this kindness, because you have done this thing.” – 2 Samuel 2:6 [NKJV] “Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.” – Psalm 85:10 [NKJV] “In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.” – Proverbs 16:6 [NKJV] You can see that in the New King James Version in Proverbs the translators come close to translate “grace and truth”, but they still use a different word for grace. A synonym – “mercy”. Why do the Christian translators work so hard to mask the phrase “grace and truth”? The reason is simple. A misunderstanding of John 1:14,17. If “grace and truth” came from Jesus Christ, how could “grace and truth” exist in the Torah and in the Old Testament? So, the easiest thing to do is mask/hide/camouflage the original Hebrew phrase with synonyms and the untrained eye. And those who don’t know Hebrew and don’t read the Old Testament will never know that grace and truth are from deep within God’s nature and character. There are other words that are hidden from the Hebrew text and by tendentious translation. The chief of these words is the word “gospel” that in Hebrew is “besorah” (“evangelium” in Greek). In English the same word is translated in the Old Testament as “good news”, and in the New Testament the same word is translated with a non-English word – “gospel”. The word “gospel” is specially adopted from the Celtic and Germanic languages: “Gotspil”, meaning “God’s story”. The result is that you don’t find the word “good news” in the New Testament, and you don’t find the word “gospel” in the Old Testament. John chapter 1 is actually a classic midrash (rabbinical-style teaching or interpretation of biblical text) of Exodus 33:18 - 34:7. It is easy to see the two major common elements in the text: who has seen God, and grace and truth. One more comment on the Red Heifer (from Numbers 19) – it was sacrificed outside the camp. The text from the book of Hebrews chapter 13, is a reference to Yeshua being like the Red Heifer sacrificed outside the camp (the city), like the Red Heifer, and now there is no longer a place for our purification inside the camp, so we, like Yeshua, have to go outside the camp to find our purification from sin. “We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.” – Hebrews 13:10-14 [NKJV] This idea is that we must follow Yeshua our Lord and if necessary be willing as His disciples to go outside the camp in order to stay with Yeshua and in solidarity, in order to fulfill the need to be purified.
Please continue to pray a special prayer for Marcia. Praise the Lord she received the first vaccination for the Coronavirus and on March 5th, the Lord willing she will receive the second vaccination. Marcia is definitely slowed down significantly. She has very little energy and she rests most of the day. I am praying and believing in the Lord’s grace for healing Marcia and restoring her ability to function and travel with me and to be a blessing to the local congregation and community and to our brothers and friends around the world. Pray for Marcia, please!

The Hamotzi program for feeding the needy of Jerusalem is ongoing and has not stopped during most of the coronavirus lock-down and quarantine. The number of needy people who come to receive food from our program has increased and overall need has increased.

Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her health is failing.

Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic.
I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit our webpage and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.

The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
