이번 주 전 세계 회당에서는 시내산에서 토라를 수여하시는 것에 대해 읽을 것입니다. 이것은 이스라엘 역사뿐만 아니라 세계 역사에서도 가장 중요한 사건 중 하나입니다. 성경만큼 온 세상에 영향을 미친 법전은 없으며, 성경 중에서 하나님께서 시내광야 산자락에서의 저 엄숙한 때에 모세의 손을 통해 이스라엘에 주신 율법은 하나님께서 인간사에 개입하신 가장 의미심장한 사건 중 하나입니다!
이번 토라 포션의 이름은 “이트로(이드로)”입니다. 하나님께서 시내산에 강림하시어 그곳에서 모세하고만 40 주야를 보내시고 인간 역사의 중심점인 이스라엘 자손에게 토라를 주신 사건을 말하고 있는 성경 중 가장 거룩한 부분이 이 이름인 것은 우연이 아닙니다. 주전 1300 – 1200년 즈음 언젠가에 일어난 이 사건의 영향력은 아직도 사람들의 삶과 심지어 인간 실존의 국제 문제까지도 강력히 변화시키고 있습니다. 이번 토라 포션이 시작되는 첫 번째 장면은 이방인, 이교도, 미디안 제사장, 모세의 장인 이드로가 모세를 지켜보고 모세가 백성과 어떻게 일하고 있는지를 평가하는 장면입니다. 이드로는 모세가 그의 업무량을 계속해내지 못할 것이라고 보았습니다. 이스라엘 사람 수는 많아서 20세에서 50세 사이의 장정만 60만 명입니다. 이드로는 그의 사람들 중에서 지도자입니다. 그는 오늘날에는 근본이라고 여길 현대적 행정 리더십의 법칙을 좀 알고 있지만, 모세는 그것을 몰랐습니다. 이드로는 위대한 지도자 모세에게 다음과 같이 말합니다: “모세의 장인이 모세가 백성에게 행하는 모든 일을 보고 이르되 네가 이 백성에게 행하는 이 일이 어찌 됨이냐 어찌하여 네가 홀로 앉아 있고 백성은 아침부터 저녁까지 네 곁에 서 있느냐 모세가 그의 장인에게 대답하되 백성이 하나님께 물으려고 내게로 옴이라 그들이 일이 있으면 내게로 오나니 내가 그 양쪽을 재판하여 하나님의 율례와 법도를 알게 하나이다 모세의 장인이 그에게 이르되 네가 하는 것이 옳지 못하도다 너와 또 너와 함께 한 이 백성이 필경 기력이 쇠하리니 이 일이 네게 너무 중함이라 네가 혼자 할 수 없으리라 이제 내 말을 들으라 내가 네게 방침을 가르치리니 하나님이 너와 함께 계실지로다 너는 하나님 앞에서 그 백성을 위하여 그 사건들을 하나님께 가져오며 그들에게 율례와 법도를 가르쳐서 마땅히 갈 길과 할 일을 그들에게 보이고 너는 또 온 백성 가운데서 능력 있는 사람들 곧 하나님을 두려워하며 진실하며 불의한 이익을 미워하는 자를 살펴서 백성 위에 세워 천부장과 백부장과 오십부장과 십부장을 삼아 그들이 때를 따라 백성을 재판하게 하라 큰 일은 모두 네게 가져갈 것이요 작은 일은 모두 그들이 스스로 재판할 것이니 그리하면 그들이 너와 함께 담당할 것인즉 일이 네게 쉬우리라 네가 만일 이 일을 하고 하나님께서도 네게 허락하시면 네가 이 일을 감당하고 이 모든 백성도 자기 곳으로 평안히 가리라 이에 모세가 자기 장인의 말을 듣고 그 모든 말대로 하여” – 출애굽기 18:14-24 오늘날 회사 문화에서 건강한 경영 원리인 이 원리는 이미 토라에 이스라엘인이 아닌 이교 제사장에 의해 잘 알려지게 되었고 구현되었습니다. 시내산자락 바로 이곳에서 성령님께서는 모세조차도 올바른 리더십과 경영에 관해 이스라엘인도 아니고 유대인도 아닌 이에게서 배울 것이 한두 가지 있다는 것을 우리에게 말씀해 주시는 것이 합당하고 보셨습니다. 모세는 그가 하나님의 친구라고 썼습니다: “사람이 자기의 친구와 이야기함 같이 여호와께서는 모세와 대면하여 말씀하시며” – 출애굽기 33:11전 토라에서 이 이야기가 있는 곳은 모세가 백성에게 스스로 성결하게 하고 하나님으로부터 토라를 받을 준비를 하라고 말하기 직전, 이방인 제사장 이드로가 모세에게 사람 관리의 기초를 가르치고 있을 때입니다. 저는 이 말씀을 좋아하는데요, 이것은 하나님께서 사람들을 차별대우하시는 분이 아님을 보여주기 때문입니다. 미쉬나 아봇에는 우리가 그것을 기억하는 것아 매우 중요하기 때문에 제가 좋아하는 말이 있습니다: “벤 조마가 말하기를, ‘누가 현인인가? The Jerusalem Prayer List – January 20, 2022

This week the synagogues around the world will be reading about the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. This is one of the most important events in the history of Israel but also in the history of the world. There is no code of laws that has influenced the whole world as much as the Bible, and in the Bible the Law that God gave to Israel through the hands of Moses on that solemn occasion at the foot of a mountain in the Sinai Desert is one of the most significant events of God’s intervention in the affairs of men!
The name of this Torah portion is Yitro (Jethro). This is not by chance that the name of this holiest of holies texts that speaks of God coming down on top of Mount Sinai and spending there 40 days and night alone with Moses, and giving the Torah to the children of Israel is a pivotal point in human history. The influence of that event that took place sometime around 1300 – 1200 B.C. is still powerfully changing people’s lives and even international affairs of human existence. The first scene that this Torah portion opens with is that of Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, a Midianite Priest, a pagan, a Gentile, who is watching Moses and evaluating how Moses is working with the people. Jethro sees that Moses will not be able to carry on with the amount of work that he has. The number of the Israelites is great, 600,000 men between the age of 20 to 50. Jethro is a leader among his people. He knows some of the modern rules of executive leadership that today would be considered as fundamental, but Moses didn’t know them. Jethro tells Moses, the great leader, the following: “So when Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, ‘What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?’ And Moses said to his father-in-law, ‘Because the people come to me to inquire of God. When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.’ So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, ‘The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you. If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.’ So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.” – Exodus 18:14-24 [NKJV] This principle of healthy management in the corporate culture of today was already well known and exemplified in the Torah by a non-Israelite pagan priest. Right here at the foot of Mount Sinai, the Holy Spirit saw fit to tell us that there are non-Israelites, non-Jews from whom even Moses learned a thing or two about proper leadership and management, it is written of Moses, that he was a friend of God: “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” – Exodus 33:11a [NKJV] The place of this narrative in the Torah, is just before Moses asks the people to sanctify themselves and a get ready to receive the Torah from God, when a Gentile priest, Jethro, is teaching Moses the ABCs of the management of people. I just love it because it shows that God is truly no respecter of people. There is the statement in the Mishnah, Avot, that I love because it is so important for us to remember it: “Ben Zoma says, ‘Who is a sage? He who learns from everybody, as it is said, from all my teachers I have gotten understanding.’ (Ps. 119:99)” – Pirkei Avot 4:1 Moses listens to his father-in-law Jethro, and emulates the wisdom that Jethro shared with him. This is just one example of why God says about Moses that he was humble. There are other examples but not from our Torah portion of this Shabbat. For example: “Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.” – Numbers 12:3 [NKJV] The next important lesson that we must learn from this Torah portion is that it is a great danger to think that you can have an encounter with, or fellowship with the almighty God, the creator of the world, casually. Here is what the word of God says on this issue: “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live. When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.’ So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes. And he said to the people, ‘Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.’ Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.” – Exodus 19:10-16 [NKJV] I think that it is wise to re-teach the disciples of Yeshua in Israel that worshiping God is a holy event every time, and that we need to learn from this section of the Torah that the casual attitude and very casual dress code that is prevalent among us, especially the younger generation but not only the young needs to be reconsidered, and that if we want to have an encounter with God or with the Holy Spirit for real, we need to learn the following basic etiquette: 1. Get ready for such an encounter with God. Take time to consecrate yourselves. To consecrate means to prepare in both our dedication and our spiritual preparation. If you would go meet the president of Israel or the president of a major corporation in Israel you would dress appropriately and not come in flip-flops (kafkafim) and shorts and without a shirt. You dress this way to go to the beach in Tel-Aviv, but you don’t dress this way to come and worship God. Dressing casual is okay, but there’s a limit. 2. You come with clean clothes. Rashi, the great 12th Century commentator of the whole Hebrew bible and of the whole Mishnah and Talmud, said that the phrase; “let them wash their clothes!” Means to be “baptized” immersed for spiritual reasons. 3. Keep a distance, put a limit, a border, between what is mundane and common and daily affairs, and the holy space – the mountain of the Lord. We live in a world where “time” and “space” have been almost eliminated in the business culture. People have smart phones and computers and they can work from anywhere and dress any way they want, and they can work at any time from their homes or from the train that they take on their way to work, or from the airplane that they fly on for business appointments! From this portion of the Torah we learn that God wants us to place limits of space and place and also a limit on time – there is a beginning and an end to the processes in which we participate. The last thing that I would like to comment about is the greatness of God’s Ten-Statements, commandments that He gave to Moses written on stones with His own finger. There were codes of law even more than a 1000 years before Abraham. We know of the code of Hammurabi and the Ur-Nammu code of laws. If we compare the 10 commandments that God gave Moses for Israel with these much more ancient codes of law, we see the superiority and the much more equitable social laws and the superiority of human rights in what God gave Israel. Yes, it is true that there are many similarities but also many differences in what God gave us from Mount Sinai, but the two important points are: 1. The 10 commandments are so much shorter than any of the codes of law that the pagans had. 2. The element of social equality and the sensitivity and the consequence of our human action and especially of our sins are so much more superior than those of these ancient laws. We must protect the place of God’s 10 “words” – commandments, with great passion. If we don’t first protect the place of these commandments in our nations and communities, for sure paganism will take over our lives, and the lives of our future generations. I am sorry to say that some of the latest developments in our Western culture are a blatant breaking of God’s commandments. I am not going to share with you a list of the latest trends that are against God’s commandments. However, I will say that breaking the commandments of God, especially these 10 commandments, will always bring a divine reaction and retribution for the evil that is sure to come. The commandments that are most abused and broken are some of the building blocks of a healthy and blessed society, like “honor your father and your mother.” Also the command, “you shall not murder,” are so clearly not honored by some societies, even right here in the land of Israel. These 10 commandments that God gave Israel on Mount Sinai are the recommendations of Yeshua to the young lawyer who wanted to know what he ought to do to inherit eternal life. I say recommendations, but in reality Yeshua commanded them as essential for the inheritance of eternal life. From the letter of Jacob (James), we learn the following principle: “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ also said, ‘Do not murder.’ Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” – James 2:10-17 [NKJV] Yes, of course we are saved by God’s grace, and that is true for all humans that are saved in the future or in the past. It is always by Grace! But, for a person who does not do his best to keep God’s commandments, even if he failed in keeping God’s commandments, God’s grace is the only way for anyone to have the privilege of spending eternity in God’s presence. One more important note: The events in the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost) as it is recorded in Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 are actually a repetition of what happened on Shavuot (Pentecost) at Mount Sinai. Yes, if you do your math right you will see that the children of Israel received the Torah at Mount Sinai on the 50th day after they left Egypt and crossed the Red Sea on dry land! Exodus 20:18-20 is repeated and re-enacted on that day in Jerusalem when Peter and the Apostles were gathered in an upper room on Mount Zion. This is to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah: “Many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 2:3 [NKJV] Exodus 20:18, Describes specifically what happened at the foot of Mount Sinai when God spoke the Ten-Commandments and Acts chapter 2 describes exactly what happened on Mount Zion on that same day of Pentecost. Here is the text of Exodus: “Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.” – Exodus 20:18 [NKJV] Here is what happened at Mount Sinai: The people are hearing the sounds, and seeing the torches of fire, and hearing the sound of the trumpet, the mountain smoked and the people trembled (were shaking) and they went to stand far off. Here is the text from the book of Acts 2:2,3: “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.” – Acts 2:2,3 [NKJV] Acts chapter two and the events of that Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot) were a fulfillment of God’s promises to Isaiah the prophet, chapter 2 – the Torah came from Mount Zion and the Word of the Lord came from Jerusalem. That day of Pentecost was a fulfillment of Mount Sinai and a second giving of the Torah in Jerusalem, this time for all the nations of the world to know and respect, both the Torah and Jerusalem.

Please keep praying for Marcia my wife and for me. We are both feeling our age and with the coronavirus we are both in need of your prayers, but especially Marcia needs God’s merciful hand to keep her memory and daily activities functioning without forgetting important things that she needs to do for herself at home. There are some medical tests that she has to do soon, CT and MRI and other tests to understand better what are the causes of some of Marcia’s problems.
We have a dear brother from Bulgaria who came to Israel got infected with Corona was in quarantine for a week and finished his work in Israel and returned to Sofia, Bulgaria. Thank you for praying for our dear Brother Cristo!
Brother Davison, a leader of a sister community in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is very sick with coronavirus. He is diabetic and has some other pre-conditions that complicate things. Pray for Davison and for Renata his dear wife.
Bathsheba Derbaremdicker, Zvi’s wife, is out of the hospital and recovering at home from a total mastectomy that she had two weeks ago. Bathsheba, our dear sister, is not finished with these health challenges, and needs our prayers.
The situation of our older sisters who are true heroes in the service of the Lord – Leah, Ahuva, and Ilana need our prayers. I am asking you join us all in praying for our older sisters. They are true heroes of faith, and their love for the Lord, and for His people, is without limit.
There is a clear command in the word of God to take care of the widows and orphans. This command appears in the Torah, the prophets, the writings, and in the New Testament - even several times.
Anyone who is getting old or has older family members must know that the fellowship of the saints and of our spiritual family can be trusted to keep this commandment and to take care of our older generation of people who have given their all during their younger years, and it is the responsibility of the saints to take care of their elderly.
Please consider as a church or as individuals to add something extra for the elderly saints of Jerusalem.

I also received a request to pray for a young brother, Raymond Jimenez, who has the coronavirus and needs God’s blessing for recovering and returning back to his normal life.
We received a prayer request from a dear sister, Livia Schnell Nothen, who has been with us in Portugal and has stood with our brothers in Brazil and with us on the issue of the Anussim (the “coerced ones”, descendants of 15th century Spanish and Portuguese Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism and who continued to secretly practice their Judaism - getting the State of Israel to accept them as Jews under the Law of Return has been an issue) and their plight…
Please keep brother Philip Marc in your prayers. Philip is a young man with very serious cancer. He is a truth seeker and a faithful disciple of Yeshua who loves God and who is a lover of Israel. Philip lives far from Israel in a country that we can’t travel to, but Philip's heart is with us, and with God’s people.
Pray for Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is the father of a dear sister in Brazil.
The situation in Israel is not getting better yet! Israel is still under closure with limited mobility and most of the economy and businesses are closed, at least for now. The economy is devastated.
I wrote last week in the Jerusalem Prayer List that it is a good work to pray for people whom you don’t know personally and to pray for the world to recover and bring an end to this horrible pandemic called the coronavirus. Corona is a crown, and I am not sure on the head of which king this virus is a crown.
1. Please keep doing intercessory prayer for the whole world, concentrate on your country, but do not forget Israel.
2. There is a blessing from God to those who pray for other brothers and sisters and intercede through the Holy Spirit for the body of the Messiah.
3. It might seem like a small thing for us to pray a few minutes for brothers and sisters around the world, but in the kingdom and in the Heavens, attention is paid by the authorities of goodness to the caring and sincere intercessory prayer that conforms and confirms that the body of the Messiah Yeshua is truly one body.
a. Pray for all the former and present people involved in Korean Israel Bible Instruction Ministry.
b. Pray for the former board members of KIBI and that those who need to repent and restore their relationship, receive power from on high, to do so.
c. Pray for those members and academics that are and were a part of the Israel Forum.
d. Pray for those who have prayed so faithfully for the salvation of Israel and the peace in Israel.
e. Pray for the spiritual and physical health of all those in Korea who are still praying for the body of the Messiah in Israel and specifically praying and supporting Netivyah. Bless them and inspire them and pray that they be filled with faith, hope and love for the Lord and for Israel.
Let us all pray and encourage our spiritual leaders to lead and to point us toward repentance and to confession of our sins and weaknesses, so that the Lord will lift this coronavirus from off of this earth and we will remember the Lord and seek to walk in His paths of righteousness and truth.
Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her situation as does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson who are also staying at home and working from home during this time.
We are praying for a three-year-old little girl who is ill with a rare illness and cancer. She lives with her family in California and we need to pray for her and her family to receive attention and healing from the Lord and to be allowed to grow up to serve His kingdom.
I am adding a new prayer request from a leader of God’s people in India, Joy Mathew, and Pastor Isaac from the city of Chennai. Pastor Isaac is suffering from kidney problems and is on dialysis a few times each week. Please lift brother Isaac in your prayers.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Brazil is one of the countries with a remarkably high count of sick and dead people from the coronavirus. We have brothers and sisters all around Brazil, and I ask you to just say a prayer for divine protection and for wisdom to keep them clear from this deadly plague.
Also include in your prayers Caique de Oliveira Becker. These are people in Brazil who need the Lord’s special grace for healing.
Please do not forget to lift up in prayer the young man Paulo and the Amaral family, in Brazil.
Please keep in your prayers our dear brother Pastor TJ in Taiwan. TJ is going through a new phase in his life.
Keep Ruby Little in your prayers, our dear sister from Oklahoma City. Ruby went through a new set of tests for her cancer and the tests returned with not such a good news. Ruby is in need of our prayers. Pray for God to heal Ruby from her cancer that after two years of treatments not much improvement. Ruby needs a miracle and strength and courage to deal with this challenge in the best way that will give her a better quality of life than chemotherapy, for divine intervention, a miracle of healing.
Lift up in prayer the following brothers and sisters: Please keep praying for Samuel Lopes, a 17-year-old boy who is going through an extremely hard time.
Please pray for the family of brother Joseph Kelber and especially for his son. Pray for Rachael and Daniel, a brother and sister who need jobs and emotional healing. Lift these brothers and sisters in your prayers: Angela Isby, Aries Franklin Mayers Sr., and Tony Black. Keep praying for Nancy, Don and their son Aaron Hook, Rachel David Kim’s wife – Jingyung Lee, Dr. Yuizawa, Tiz H., Lion H, Ilana Abramov, David Stern and his family, Anne West who is now 100 years old. Keep praying for Gary, and Melanie.
Remember the following brothers and sisters from the Roeh Israel Congregation in Jerusalem; Sarit, Gabriela, Ahuva, Leah, Ilana, Hannah, young Gabriela, Zvi D. and Bathsheba, Jonathan B. and his wife Aviva and their baby, and pray for Sister Yoko Nagumo in Japan. Sister Yoko had a stroke, and we pray that her recovery will be quick and full.

I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in Heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.

By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters, and whom you do not know personally, you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.” “Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do. Your sincere prayers for people around the world do the following things for the Kingdom, the King, and for the body of the Messiah:
1. They unite you and the body in a major transcendent bond of prayer.
2. They demonstrate the oneness of the people of God.
3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.

Pray for Israel. Businesses are closing, and bankruptcy is happening to old established companies and businesses and even our national airline is on the verge of bankruptcy. People do not have money to put food on their tables. The number of people in need of basic food is growing.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit our webpage and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system. The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel going to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail. Enough!

We have a dear sister that became a disciple of Yeshua in our congregation in Jerusalem a few years ago. Unfortunately she married a person who was supposed to be a disciple of Yeshua himself, but was far from being a disciple of Yeshua. Tali right now has three teenage daughters with health problems and Tali herself has some serious health problems. We are praying for Tali and asking you all to pray for Tali. We need to ask God to heal and bless this dear sister that is suffering both physically and materially.
I was asked by brothers and sisters of the Messianic congregation, Shoresh David (The Root of David) in Portland, Oregon, to pray for Portland. Anarchist elements have taken the center of Portland, OR, and turned it into chaos, and disorder. So, please pray for Portland, OR, and for our brothers and sisters in that city.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
Third, please pray for a new project that we are starting in Israel in partnership with the Houses for Healing ministry from Abilene, Texas.
The aim is to provide hospitality for families of critically ill patients who are hospitalized in one of Jerusalem’s hospitals and who have no means to stay in hotels while their family members are in the hospitals.
This is a critical need especially in these days when there are hundreds of men and women who are in the coronavirus ICU units for weeks and even months.
We need your prayer and your help to make this a meaningful and significant blessing both to the sick and to their families.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children. Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
