예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2023년 1월 12일

이번 안식일부터 출애굽기 읽기가 시작됩니다. 출애굽기의 첫 포션은 히브리어로 “슈모트”라고 부릅니다. 이것은 “이름들”이라는 뜻입니다. 이 이름은 출애굽기가 시작되는 첫 단어들에 근거한 것입니다.
우리는 히브리 성경의 각 책은 각 책 내용의 주제에 근거한 이름이 없다는 것을 기억해야 합니다. 헬라어와 라틴어 성경의 각 책에는 “출애굽기”와 같은 책 이름이 있는데요, 그 이유는 이 책의 주요 주제가 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 종살이에서 떠나 출애굽하는 것을 다루고 있기 때문입니다. 레위기는 히브리어로 “바이크라”라고 부르고, “그리고 그가 부르셨다”는 뜻입니다. 이것은 사실 이들 문서가 오래된 것임을 보여주는 것입니다. 이번 안식일에 출애굽기에서 읽는 부분은 1:1~6:1입니다. 전 세계 모든 회당에서 다섯 장을 전부 읽을 것입니다. 이 때문에 초대교회 사도들과 장로들과 전도자들이 예루살렘에 모여, 우상을 버리고 초대 유대 교회(주후 2세기 말까지 존재했던 유일한 유대 교회)에 붙은 늘어나는 비-유대인들을 어떻게 할까를 논의했던 것입니다. 다음 구절은 예루살렘 교회에서 사도들이 공동체의 비-유대인 지체들에게 강력히 권하기로 결정한 사항입니다: “즉 예로부터 이것을 알게 하시는 주의 말씀이라 함과 같으니라 그러므로 내 의견에는 이방인 중에서 하나님께로 돌아오는 자들을 괴롭게 하지 말고 다만 우상의 더러운 것과 음행과 목매어 죽인 것과 피를 멀리하라고 편지하는 것이 옳으니 이는 예로부터 각 성에서 모세를 전하는 자가 있어 안식일마다 회당에서 그 글을 읽음이라 하더라” — 사도행전 15:18-21 21절을 주목해 보십시오. 사도들이 예슈아의 이방인 제자들에게 주는 지침의 근거는 “예로부터 각 성에서 모세를 전하는 자가 있어 안식일마다 회당에서 그 글을 읽었다”는 전제로 시작됩니다. 예슈아의 동생이며 예루살렘 교회의 지도자인 야고보의 말의 첫 부분은 모세오경이 각 성에서 읽히고 있으므로, 우리가 권하고 요구하는 것이 모든 곳에 이른다고 말하고 있는 것입니다. 이 마지막 권장 사항은 이방인 제자들이 안식일에 회당에 가서 하나님의 말씀을 들으라는 것입니다. 주후 1세기 전반기의 사도들의 첫 번째 예루살렘 공의회의 이 결과는 기념비적인 것이지만, 기독교회의 99%는 전혀 모릅니다. 코셔(정결법) 방식으로 도축되지 않은 고기, 피를 먹는 것, 피흘림 즉 죽이는 것 등을 삼가라는 것이 포함된 내용입니다. 네티비야와 예루살렘 로에 이스라엘 회중은 코셔 토라 두루마리를 얻은 첫 회중입니다. 저희는 전통에 따라 안식일마다 이 토라 두루마리에서 말씀을 읽습니다. 토라 포션에 이어 선지서 포션을 읽고, 앞의 두 포션과 짝이 맞는 신약성경 본문도 읽는데요, 즉 서로 연관성 있는 토라와 선지서와 신약성경을 읽는 것입니다. 지금은 이스라엘의 메시아닉 회중들과 디아스포라 중에서도 많은 메시아닉 회중들이 똑같이 하고 있는 것이 경이롭습니다. 전형적인 정통 유대교 절차에 따라 토라와 선지서 말씀을 읽고, 앞서 말씀드린 것과 같이 신약성경에서도 말씀을 읽는 것 말입니다. 이번 안식일에 우리는 출애굽기 1:1~6:1을 읽을 것이고, 선지서에서는 이사야 27:6-28:13, 29:22-23을 읽을 것입니다. 신약성경에서는 사도행전 7:17-36을 읽을 것입니다. 출애굽기 1-6장에는 출애굽과 시내산에서의 토라 수여와 관련된 모든 씨가 들어 있고, 또한 온 인류의 구원과 구속의 패턴의 씨도 들어 있습니다. 제가 이 중요한 패턴의 윤곽을 제시해 보겠습니다. 아마 저는 21세기 표현으로 말씀드려야 할 것입니다. 출애굽기의 첫 여섯 장에는 하나님의 그분의 자녀 호모 사피엔스의 구원을 위한 모형이 담겨 있습니다. “호모 사피엔스”라는 이름은 “지혜의 사람”이란 뜻인데요, 사람은 생각하고 상상하고 발명하고 어느 정도의 기능 체계가 있는 하나의 단위로 기능하는 가족을 만든다는 의미입니다. 출애굽기가 우리와 역사에 제공하는 구원 패턴은 이렇습니다: 1. 축복으로 시작된 것이 금방 문제가 될 수 있다는 것입니다. 좋은 삶을 누리고 있는 복 받은 사람들이, 형통의 흐름에 들지 못한 사람들 틈에서 혹은 형통하며 방자한 소수의 사람들 때문에 위협을 느끼는 사람들 틈에서, 너무 눈에 띄게 커지고 너무 자긍심을 가지고 너무 형통할 때, 문제가 생깁니다. 2. 특권을 누리는 소수에 대한 반감은 박해를 초래하는데요, 그 바탕에는 두려움과 불공정하다고 느끼는 감정이 있습니다. 3. 우월감을 행사하며 건드릴 수 없는 존재이고 하나님의 선택 받은 존재라는 태도를 가진 사람들에 대한 박해는 수용되고 정당화되고, 심지어 정권에 의해 합법화되기도 합니다. 그 다음 단계는 이 특권층 소수를 박해하고 배척하고 노예화하는 것을 의무화하는 것입니다. 4. 이 소수는 그들의 고난에 대한 해결책을 모색하여 박해와 노예살이에서 해방되고자 합니다. 그들은 학대와 불공정과 차별을 겪으면서 그들의 하나님께 울부짖으며, 계속해서 이 차별과 박해에서 해방되어 구원받을 방법을 찾습니다. 5. 이 박해를 겪는 사람들에 대해 남달리 민감한 누군가가 깨어나 그의 나라 혹은 공동체에 일어나고 있는 일이 옳지 않고 공정하지 않으며 결국에는 자기 동족과 가족을 위험에 처하게 할 것을 깨닫습니다. 지금은 고난당하고 있는 이전의 특권층 소수에 대해 가해지는 불의와 불공정을 오래 보아오던 이 무명의 로빈후드 같은 영웅, 이 경우 애굽 왕자는 하나님으로부터 기상 호출을 받고 자신의 의지에 반하게 임무를 받아 자신감이 부족함에도 그가 달아났던 바로 그곳으로 되돌아가 하나님의 이름으로, 그리고 하나님의 도움을 힘 입어 정권에 도전합니다. 6. 하나님께서는 이 개인을 사용하여 구원과 해방을 가져다주시고 고난과 종살이를 구원과 해방으로 바꿔주십니다. 이번 안식일 토라 포션에서 이 패턴이 시작됩니다. 이번 안식일 토라 포션은 희망과 용기와 믿음과 하나 됨의 원천이며, 개인이 불가능과 생각지도 못한 일을 마주하여 승리와 억압받는 자들의 해방을 볼 수 있고, 학대와 차별의 고난이 하나님의 은혜와 영광으로 바뀌어 약속의 땅으로의 귀환 약속의 성취로 이어진다는 것을 보여줍니다. 여러분이 앞서 제시된 토라 포션과 선지서 포션과 신약성경 본문을 읽고 묵상하시면, 여러분도 큰 변화와 향상을 가져오고, 고난당하고 가난한 자들을 해방하여 하나님의 축복과 영원한 구원으로 인도해 들이는 하나님의 손의 도구와 수단이 될 수 있다는 것을 볼 수 있을 것입니다. 고통과 고난과 박해와 배척 끝에 여러분 스스로의 인내와 기꺼이 이스라엘의 전능하신 하나님의 손의 도구가 되고자 한다면, 여러분은 최소한 예슈아를 예루살렘까지 태워 모셔간 나귀와 같이 사용되도록 할 수 있을 것입니다. 여러분은 모두, 저처럼, 바울이나 베드로나 야고보처럼, 하나님의 임무를 받아, 메시아께서 모두의 왕과 주인으로 예루살렘으로 돌아오시어 성도들과 함께 영원히 영원한 예루살렘 성에서 은혜로 다스리시게 되실 때 타고 오실 나귀가 되고자 할 것입니다. 성경에서 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 모든 구원의 순간에는 똑같은 패턴이 있습니다. 구속과 구원에는 언제나 대가가 있습니다. 결국 그 대가는 언제나 크지만, 그만한 가치가 있습니다. 출애굽기 4장의 모세와 뱀(악어)으로 변했던 그의 목자의 지팡이 이야기는 모세오경 전체 중에서 제가 제일 좋아하는 이야기 중 하나입니다. 이 이야기는 제게 확신과 용기를 많이 주어, 살해 시도, 가족에 대한 박해, 재산에 끼치는 피해, 매 맞음, 배척을 맞설 수 있게 해주었습니다. 목자의 나무 지팡이도 하나님의 능력으로 뱀이나 악어가 될 수 있고, 애굽의 죄수도 단시간에 히브리 종들을 애굽 종살이에서 해방시켜 40년 동안 광야에서 그들을 이끌어 가며 하늘에서 내린 만나를 먹이고 매일 저녁 메추라기 고기를 먹일 수 있습니다. 저에게는 목자의 지팡이가 없습니다. 제 생각에 여러분에게도 없을 것 같지만, 우리 손에 뭐가 있든지 우리가 하나님의 명령에 순종하여 기꺼이 우리 손에 들고 있는 것을 쓰고자 한다면, 우리는 하나님의 손의 순종의 도구가 될 수 있을 것입니다. 하나님께서는 여러분 모두에게 복을 주시고 여러분을 구비시키고 인도하시어 여러분 손에 무엇이 있든지 여러분의 구원과 여러분을 막아 여러분이 많은 사람의 구원의 도구가 되지 못하게 하는 두려움으로부터의 구원의 도구로 사용하도록 하십니다. 여러분의 손에 무엇을 가지고 있든지, 작든 사소하든 중요해 보이지 않든 상관없이 손에서 놓으십시오. 모세가 그의 목자의 지팡이를 손에서 놓았던 것처럼 여러분이 그것을 손에서 놓으면, 하나님께서는 그것을 전동공구로 만들어 여러분과 여러분의 삶에 힘을 주시어, 포로를 해방시키고 심지어 이날까지 하나님의 자녀들을 노예로 만드는 사람들에게서 해방시키는 구원의 도구로 만드십니다. 이번 토라 포션과 이사야 27장 선지서 포션과 사도행전 7장 본문을 읽고 이들 본문 간의 연관성을 묵상해보시고, 하나님 손의 구원의 도구가 된다는 의미를 묵상해 보시기 바랍니다!

The Jerusalem Prayer List – January 12, 2023

This Shabbat we start the reading from Exodus. The first Torah portion from the book of Exodus in Hebrew it is called Shemot. Shemot in Hebrew means “the names”. This name is based on the first words of the book of Exodus.
We must know that the Hebrew Bible didn’t have names that are based on the topics that the book contains. This is why the Greek and Latin Bibles had names like “Exodus”, because the main topic of the book deals with the Exodus of the children of Israel out of Egyptian slavery. The book of Leviticus in the Hebrew Bible is called “Vayikra”, meaning “and He called”… This actually is an indication of the antiquity of these documents. The reading from Exodus this Shabbat is from the book of Exodus 1:1-6:1. Five full chapters will be read in every synagogue around the world. This is the very reason why the apostles and the elders and the evangelists of the Church gathered together in Jerusalem to discuss what to do with the growing number of non-Jews that have abandoned their idols and attached themselves to the Jewish Church (the only Church that existed well until the end of the 2nd Century CE). This is what the apostles in Jerusalem decided to strongly recommend for the non-Jewish members of the community: “Known to God from eternity are all His works. Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” — Acts 15:18-21 [NKJV] Notice verse 21. The basis of the apostolic instructions for the gentile disciples of Yeshua starts with the premise that “Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city.” This first statement of the James, the brother of Yeshua, as the leader of the Jerusalem Church is the basic premise that says to all that the law of Moses is available in every city. Therefore, our demand and recommendation is within reach and available everywhere. This last requirement is for the gentile disciples to go on the Sabbath day to the synagogues to hear the Word of God. This outcome from the first apostolic conference in Jerusalem in the first half of the First Century of our Common Era is monumental, but it is totally ignored by 99% of the Christian churches. Including the abstaining of meat that was not slaughtered in a Kosher way, and eating blood, and shedding blood, i.e. killing. Netivyah and the Ro’eh Israel congregation in Jerusalem were the first to acquire a kosher Torah scroll. We started to read from it every Shabbat, according to the tradition. To follow the Torah portions and the reading from the prophets, and we added the reading from the New Testament to match the other readings and connect with the content of the Torah, the prophets, and the New Testament. It is wonderful now that many of the Messianic congregations in Israel, and many in the diaspora, are doing the same thing. Reading from the Torah and the prophets according to the traditional Jewish Orthodox order. And, as mentioned, we added readings from the New Testament. This Shabbat we will be reading from Exodus chapter 1:1-6:1, and from the prophets we will be reading from Isaiah 27:6-28:13, 29:22-23. From the New Testament we will read from Acts 7:17-36. Exodus chapters 1-6 contain in them the seed of everything that is connected with the Exodus from Egypt and the giving of the Torah in Mount Sinai, and also with the very seeds of the pattern of salvation and redemption for all mankind. Please let me outline this very important pattern. Maybe I should say this in 21st century language. The first 6 chapters of the book of Exodus contain the matrix for God’s salvation of His children, the homo sapiens. The name “homo sapiens” means the “wise humans”, the humans who think and imagine and invent and have a family that is functioning as a unit, with some order of functionality. Here is the pattern of salvation that the book of Exodus provides for us and for history: 1. What starts as a blessing will soon turn into a problem. The problem happens when the blessed people that have a good life grow and become too visible and too proud and too prosperous in a setting of others who have not been included in prosperity, or feel threatened by the growing prosperous and pampered minority. 2. Objections to the privileged minority bring persecution based on fear, and the feeling of unfairness. 3. The persecution of those who invoke the feeling of superiority and an attitude of being untouchables and chosen by God becomes accepted and justifiable, and it is even legalized by the authorities. The next step is for it to become an obligation to persecute and reject and enslave the privileged minority. 4. The minority seeks solution to their suffering, and release from the persecution and enslavement. They cry to their God and suffer the abuse and unfairness and discrimination, and continue to seek a way to be released and delivered from the discrimination and persecution. 5. Usually someone who has a sensitivity for those who suffer the persecution wakes up and realizes that what is happening in his country or community is not right and not fair, and in the long run will endanger his own people and family. From a prolonged observation of the injustice and unfairness that is exercised against the now-suffering privileged minority, this unknown, Robin-Hood type hero, in this case an Egyptian prince, receives a wake-up call from God and is commissioned against his own will and his lack of self-confidence to go back to the place that he ran away from and challenge the authorities in God’s name, and with God’s help. 6. God uses this individual to bring salvation and deliverance and a mutation of suffering and slavery into salvation and deliverance. This pattern starts in this Torah reading on this Shabbat. The reading this Shabbat is a source of hope and courage and faith and unity and the ability of the individual to face the impossible and the unthinkable and see victory and deliverance of the oppressed, and the suffering of abuse and discrimination turned into God’s grace and glory, leading to the fulfillment of the promise to return to the Promised Land. If you read the Torah portion and the portion of the prophets listed above, and the text form the New Testament, and meditate on them, you will see that you can also become a tool and an instrument in God’s hand to bring great changes and improvements and deliverance of the suffering and poor of the land into God’s blessings and everlasting salvation. At the end of the pain and suffering and persecution and rejection, your own perseverance and willingness to become a tool in the hands of the Almighty God of Israel will have you used at least as the donkey that brought Yeshua to Jerusalem. You, like me, and like Paul and Peter and Jacob (James), are all commissioned by God to be willing to be the donkey on whose back the Messiah will return to Jerusalem as King and Master of all, to rule with grace in the eternal city of Jerusalem, together with the saints forever! Every moment of salvation in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, has the same pattern. And always the redemption and salvation come with a price. But in the end the price is always high, but worth the expense. The story of Moses and his shepherd staff that turned into a snake (a crocodile) in Exodus 4 is one of my favorite in the whole Torah of Moses. It has given me so much confidence and so much courage to be able to face attempted murder, persecution of my family, damage to property, beatings, and rejection. A wooden shepherd’s staff can turn into a snake or a crocodile by the power of God, and a prisoner in Egypt can in such a short time deliver the Hebrew slaves from Egyptian slavery, and lead them in the wilderness for 40 years, and feed them manna from Heaven and quail meat every day for dinner. I don’t have a shepherd's staff, and I imagine that you also don’t have a shepherd’s staff, but no matter what we have in our hand, if we are willing to, in obedience to God’s command, use that which we hold in our hand, we might become tools of obedience in God’s hand. God bless you all and equip you and guide you to use whatever you have in your hand as a tool for your deliverance and the deliverance of what inhibits you, and the fears that stop you from becoming a tool of salvation for many. Release what you have in your hand, no matter how small or how insignificant or seemingly unimportant. If you release it, like Moses released his shepherd’s staff, God can make it a power-tool that empowers you and your life as a tool of deliverance and salvation to release the captives and those enslaved in the things that enslave God’s children even to this day! Please read the Torah portion and the portion of the prophets from Isaiah 27, and the text from Acts 27, and meditate on what connects these three readings together, and the meaning of becoming a tool of salvation in God’s own hands!

Please pray for Israel during these difficult moments of political needs in the creation of the new government after the last election. There are some major political earthquakes in Israel and in the Knesset (our parliament) with the new government and the opposition.
Israel is in a situation that can easily turn into an end of democracy in the State of Israel. The problem is not one-sided, it is from both sides of the political spectrum.
In Jerusalem pray for the following brothers and sisters who are in need of divine grace and the gentle touch of the hand of God for healing and strength.
Ilana Ahijervie, a dear sister who is 98 years old and suffering from memory problems.
Lea Korky, a dear sister who is 89 years old and served for many years as a nurse in the Sha’arei Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Sarit, a sister born in Jerusalem, over 87 years old, lives alone. Has no close family, and suffers from several old-age illnesses.
Yehuda Hochman, is a dear older brother living in the Negev desert with some illness that needs healing.
Please continue to pray for My wife Marcia and her health. We need to pray for her strength and her energy and her arthritis and diabetic and memory problems.
Marcia and I are planning to travel to the United States in the middle of January until the end of February. I will be teaching in the United States and also traveling to Brazil to share and hold some important seminars on topics that need to be understood and practiced by the body of the Messiah worldwide. Very little of what Yeshua commanded His disciples is practiced and even instructed by the vast majority of the Christian community worldwide.
Your prayers for Alexander have been answered, but please keep praying for Alexander and for his sister Sarah, and his brother Andrew, and their general and spiritual welfare!
Please pray for Michael McGoff, Michael had heart surgery a few days ago and we need to pray for his full recovery.
Pray for Adam R., Adam works in Netivyah as the media director and he, like Yehuda and Daniel, has been raised in Netivyah congregation in the Galilee. Adam has lost much of his hearing as a result of a virus. Pray for Adam and his family of 8 children.
Pray for Adam’s father and mother, Barry and Dalia. They too have some health problems and challenges.
Pray for Miriam and for Hannah, her daughter. Miriam is a dear sister and has lost her husband recently. Pray for Daniel S. and his children. Our dear leader in the Ro’eh Israel congregation, Gary, and his health, and for his wife Melanie and their family.
Pray for Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy Abu-Eid and all of the family. This is a dear family of old friends that needs healing and wisdom for the children and for their work.
Please pray for the Romero family who live deep in the Negev desert. It is hot there and they are far from our congregation, we miss them, but we wish them a wonderful summer.
Please pray for Alexander West and his sister Sarah West. Alexander has a very serious case of Covid, and he has asked for prayer. This is a good thing, since Alexander has been estranged form the faith for a season. Pray also for Ronan, Alexander’s wife, who also has a challenging case of Covid.
Pray for the Ro’eh Israel congregation and the leadership of Netivyah. I have received my last check in the end of August. I am no longer employed by Netivyah. I am continuing the Lord’s work without stopping or slowing down for one minute. I need your prayers because from January I will be living on a pension. Until January, by God’s grace!
Pray for our sister Nina Nichayev, who is in the hospital for tests. Nina needs our prayers and the prayers of our brothers and sisters around the world.

Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church, and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:
“But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. The South shall possess the mountains of Esau, And the Lowland shall possess Philistia. They shall possess the fields of Ephraim And the fields of Samaria. Benjamin shall possess Gilead. And the captives of this host of the children of Israel Shall possess the land of the Canaanites As far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Shall possess the cities of the South. Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” — Obadiah 1:17-21 [NKJV]

Joseph Mock, a young man in his 30s, a dear brother that was named after me, has leukemia in an advanced stage. He is in the hospital and needs our urgent prayers. Joseph Mock is the son of Steve Mock, who is also one of the faithful disciples of Yeshua who became a believer in the early years of Netivyah.
Steve Mock is also in need of our prayers. He had a massive stroke and now he cannot speak, and has other limitations. Please keep Steve Mock also in your prayers, and pray for his wife Josse for strength and blessings and good health.
Pray for three women of God in Canada who need healing, Lynda, Sandy and Joanne.
I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit here do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
