예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2020년 10월 1일

이번 2020년 숙콧(초막절) 안식일에 읽는 토라 포션은 레위기 22:26~23:44이며, 선지자의 글에서 읽는 부분은 스가랴 14:1-21입니다. 복음서에서는 누가복음 2:1-20입니다.
이번은 제 평생 가장 이상한 숙콧 연휴 중 하나입니다. 세계 대부분의 곳과 마찬가지로 온 이스라엘이 폐쇄되었습니다. 이스라엘에서는 이번이 2차 폐쇄입니다. 사실상 이것은 우리가 집 밖으로 1000 미터, 혹은 1 킬로미터 이상 갈 수 없다는 뜻입니다. 숙콧은 초막절입니다. 주요한 일은 여러분 집에 마당이 있으면 마당에, 아니면 여러분 집 근처 보도에, 아니면 여러분 집 발코니에 초막을 짓는 것입니다. 그 취지는 여러분이 적어도 하루에 한 끼는 여러분의 초막에서 먹으라는 것입니다. 정통유대교인은 초막에서 잠까지 자는 이들이 많습니다. 토라의 명령은 초막에 거하라는 것입니다. 중동에서는 지금이 첫 비가 내리는 시기입니다. 그래서 초막에 거하며 그 안에서 자는 것은 아주 재밌어질 수 있습니다. 그러나 하나님으로부터의 이 명령의 취지는 첫째 이스라엘이 시내광야에서 40년 동안 초막 진영 생활을 했음을 기억하라는 것입니다. 이 40년 동안 하나님께서 모든 것 – 음식(만나), 음료(여러 원천에서 물), 달게 된 쓴 물, 바위로부터 물을 공급해 주셨습니다. 두 번째 기억해야 할 아주 중요한 것은 부자의 집이 가난한 자의 집과 다를지라도 우리 모두는 “지붕 위의 바이올린”(떨어질 위험이 있는 위태로운 처지) 같다는 것입니다. 우리가 가진 그 어느 것도 완전히 우리 자신만의 실력이나 우리가 하나님과 맺고 있는 관계의 결과물이 아닙니다. 우리는 모두 하나님 앞에 동등하며 토라(법) 앞에 평등해야 합니다. 숙콧에 거하는 것에서 배울 세 번째 교훈은 우리의 일생은 잠깐이며 우리 모두에게 이 세상의 그 어느 것도 영구하지 않다는 것입니다. 이것들이 어릴 때 가능한 한 일찍 배워야 할 중요한 교훈인 것은 그것들이 우리 평생을 따라오며 우리에게 도움이 되고 복이 되기 때문입니다. 제가 제 인생의 아주 일찍이, 제가 하나님과 예슈아를 믿는 믿음을 받은 후 읽었던 책 중 하나는 “유목 생활!”이라고 하는 책이었습니다. 이것은 제가 성경이나 숙콧에 대해 알기도 전에 제게 깊이 영향을 주었습니다. 우리의 삶이란 무엇인가? 우리의 삶은 언제나 새롭고 결코 똑같지 않은 세상 속으로 들어가는 것이다. 다음의 짧은 문구를 한 번 생각해 보십시오. 제가 쓴 것은 아니고 어제 왓츠앱으로 친구들에게 보낸 것입니다: 그건 모두 비례의 문제다. 잠시 생각해 보십시오, 여러분이 1900년에 태어났다면, 여러분이 열네(14) 살 때 제1차 세계대전이 시작되어, 열여덟(18) 살 때 끝나고, 2,200만 명이 죽습니다. 그리고 전 지구적 전염병인 “스페인 독감”이 뒤이어 발생하여 5,000만 명을 죽게 합니다. 여러분은 아직 살아 있고 벌써 스무(20) 살입니다. 여러분이 스물아홉(29) 살 때 여러분은 뉴욕증권거래소의 붕괴로 시작되어 전 세계 인구에 인플레이션과 대량실업과 기근을 야기한 전 지구적 경제 위기에 살아남습니다. 여러분이 서른세(33) 살 때 나치가 독일에서 권력을 잡습니다. 여러분이 서른아홉(39) 살 때 제2차 세계대전이 발발합니다. 여러분이 마흔다섯(45) 살이 되었을 때 여러분은 이 전쟁에서 6,000만 명이 죽었고 그 중 600만 명이 홀로코스트의 유대인이었음을 알게 됩니다. 여러분이 예순네(64) 살 때 월남전이 시작되어, 일흔다섯(75) 살 때 끝납니다. 1985년에 태어난 아이는 자기 할아버지가 인생의 어려움에 대해 아무 것도 모른다고 생각합니다. 그렇지만 그 할아버지 세대는 벌써 몇 번의 전쟁과 재앙에 살아남았습니다. 우리 시대에 우리는 세상이 제공하는 모든 편의를 향유하지만, 새로운 전염병에 노출되었습니다. 사람들은 자가격리된 몇 주 동안 그것 때문에 불평합니다. 그렇지만 그들은 아직도 전기가 들어오고, 휴대폰도 되고, 음식도 있고, 온수도 있고, 머리 위에 지붕도 있습니다. 그런 것들과 그런 편의는 저런 과거에는 없었지만, 사람들은 어려움에도 불구하고 살아남았고, 그들 중 상당수는 살고자 하는 욕구나 삶의 기쁨을 잃지 않았습니다. 오늘날 우리는 여러 환경에, 쇼핑몰이나 다른 곳에 갈 때 마스크를 쓰고 다녀야함을 불평합니다. 좀 더 보면 경이로움을 더할 수도 있습니다. 우리는 살아있음에, 그리고 우리 자신과 다른 사람들을 보호하기 위해 필요한 것이라면 무엇이든 할 것에 감사해야 합니다! 저는 이 글이 전 세계에 공유되고 게시되어야 한다고 생각합니다. 그리고 여러분 중 누구든 같은 생각이라면 이것을 공유하여 도와주십시오. 하나님, 우리가 살아있어서 감사합니다. 저는 다음과 같이 말합니다: 항상 최고를 소망하되 최악에 대비하라! 이것은 예슈아의 충고입니다 – 너희 집을 반석위에 짓는 지혜로운 자가 되라 (마 7;25)! 저는 이 메시지가 숙콧 절기에 매우 적합하다고 생각합니다. 이것은 우리가 모두 지붕 위의 바이올린이라는 것을 생각나게 하는 것입니다. 이생에 죽음 외에 그 어느 것도 확실하지 않습니다. 이스라엘에서는 삶에 확실한 것은 죽음과 세금 단 두 가지 밖에 없다고들 합니다. 그러나 어젯밤 미국 대통령과 민주당 후보 사이의 토론회를 듣고 나서 저는 세금에 대해서도 확신할 수가 없습니다. 선지자의 글에서 읽는 부분은 스가랴서 마지막 장, 14장입니다. 이 장은 가장 놀라운 예언 중 하나를 담고 있는데요, 온 열방이, 숙콧 절기(초막절)에, 아브라함과 이삭과 이스라엘의 하나님, 창조주를 경배하기 위해 각 나라 대표를 예루살렘으로 보내게 될 어느 때를 예언하고 있습니다. 물론 요한복음 7장은 모두 초막절에 대한 것입니다. 이 장의 예슈아의 가르침은 모두 예슈아와 그분의 제자들이 신실하게 지켰던 이 중요한 절기의 풍습과 가르침과 연관되어 있습니다. 그들은 이 절기를 지키러 갈릴리에서부터 예루살렘으로 갔습니다! 여러분은 그들이 갈릴리에서부터 예루살렘까지 걷거나 나귀를 타고 왔다는 것을 아셔야 합니다. 이것은 150 마일(241.4 킬로미터)에서 200 마일(321.9 킬로미터) 사이의 거리입니다. 여러분은 예루살렘까지 갔다가 절기가 끝나고 다시 갈릴리까지 가는 이 여행이 얼마나 오래 걸렸을 것으로 생각하십니까? 분명 사람들이 일 년에 세 번, 유월절과 샤부옷(오순절)과 숙콧(초막절)에 갈릴리에서부터 예루살렘까지 오는 게 쉽지는 않았습니다. 이것은 토라와 관련하여, 그리고 예슈아의 제자들의 유대인의 정체성과 관련하여 예슈아의 제자들에 대해 우리에게 무엇을 가르쳐줍니까? 간단합니다! 그것은 우리에게 예슈아와 그의 제자들이 그들의 의가 서기관과 바리새인의 의보다 더 낫기 위해 (마 5:20 참조) 최선을 다하고 있었다는 것을 가르쳐줍니다. 제가 저 자신에게 묻는 질문은 간단합니다! 요셉, 너는 누구를 따르지? 누가 네 주님이지? 네 주님이 네게 뭘 요구하시지? 문제가 있을 때, 너는 누구에게 순종할 거지? 금년에 저는 25년 남짓 만에 처음으로 저희 집 발코니에 실물 초막을 세웁니다. 코로나바이러스로 인해 우리의 삶은 이미 지붕 위의 바이올린 같이 불안정합니다! 앞서 문단에 있는 질문들을 스스로에게 해 보십시오, 그러면 여러분은 그것들 모두에 똑같이 대답하실 것입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분이 하나에 대답하시면 여러분은 나머지 모두에 대답하신 것이기 때문입니다!
저는 여러분께 이번 주말에 온 이스라엘과 여러분 각자의 나라를 위해 기도해 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 우리는 이 세상에 소금과 빛이 되라는 위임을 받았는데, 이 팬데믹의 시절에 메시아의 몸 말고 누가 그런 책임을 떠맡겠습니까!
우리는 전 세계와 각자의 나라를 위해 계속 기도해야 합니다. 그리고 거기에 이스라엘을 추가해 주십시오. 이스라엘 상황은 지금 세계 중에서 최악 중 하나입니다. 저희 나라는 인구대비 코로나 사망률과 감염률이 미국보다 높습니다.
저는 이 코로나바이러스 역시 이스라엘을 훈육하여 그들이 하나님과 더 좋은 관계로 회복되고 그들의 창조주를 더 존경하도록 하나님께서 보내셨던 성경의 다른 모든 염병 같은 전염병이라고 믿습니다.
이스라엘이 회개했을 때나 모세가 들어 올렸던 놋뱀을 바라보았을 때, 그들은 치유 받았습니다. 물론, 우리는 모세 때처럼 놋뱀이 필요하지는 않지만, 우리의 눈을 들어 그 무엇도 아닌 우리 주 예슈아께 초점을 맞출 필요가 있습니다.
이것이 의미하는 것은 우리의 믿음을, 메시아의 몸을 분열시켰고 또 다시 분열되었으며 우리의 믿음의 중심을 십자가에 달리신 분으로부터 교회 제도로 돌려버린 교단/교파가 아닌, 메시아의 복음에 다시 맞추라는 것입니다.
저는 하나님의 말씀에 나타난 다른 모든 전염병과 마찬가지로 이 전염병도 하나님으로부터 왔고 하나님에 의해 멈춰질 수 있다고 믿습니다.
우리 영적 지도자들이 우리를 회개로, 죄와 허물을 고백하는 데로 이끌고 지적하여, 주님께서 이 코로나바이러스를 이 땅에서 거두시고 우리가 주님을 기억하며 그분의 의와 진리의 길로 걸어가게 하도록 우리 모두 기도하며 격려합시다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – October 1, 2020

The Torah reading for this Shabbat of Sukkot 2020 is from Leviticus 22:26-23:44, and the reading from the prophets is Zechariah 14:1-21. From the Gospel it is Luke 2:1-20.
This is one of the strangest Sukkot holidays in my life. The whole of Israel, like much of the world, is in closure. In Israel this is the second closure. In practice it means that we can’t leave our home farther than 1000 meters, or one kilometer. Sukkot is the Feast of Tabernacles. The main thing is to build a tabernacle in your yard if you have a yard, or build one on the sidewalk near your house, or build one on your balcony. The idea is that you eat at least one meal per day in your tabernacle. Many Orthodox Jews even sleep in their tabernacle. The Torah command is to dwell in the tabernacle. In the Middle East this is the season when the first rains fall. So, dwelling in the tabernacle and sleeping in it can become very interesting. However, the idea that is behind this command from God is first to remember that Israel went through a 40-year boot camp in the wilderness of Sinai. During these 40 years, God provided everything - food (the manna), drink (water from different sources), bitter water that was sweetened, and water from the rock. The second thing that is very important to remember is that although the home of the rich might be different from the home of the poor, all of us are like a “fiddler on the roof” (in a precarious position, in danger of falling). Nothing that we have is of consequence to our true self, or to our relationship to our God. We are all equal before God and ought to be equal before the Torah (the Law). The third lesson to learn from dwelling in the Sukkah is that our whole life is temporary and for all of us, nothing in this world is permanent. These are important lessons to learn as early as childhood because they follow us throughout our life and help and bless us. One of the books that I read very early in my life, soon after I received faith in God and in Yeshua, was a book called “The Nomadic Life!” It influenced me deeply before I even knew much about the Bible or about Sukkot. What is our life? Our life is entrance into a world that is always new and never the same. Just think of the following short statement, that I didn’t write, but I sent yesterday to friends on WhatsApp: It's all a matter of proportions. Think for a moment, if you were born in 1900… when you are 14, World War I begins, and it ends when you are 18… 22 million die. This is followed by a global epidemic: the “Spanish flu,” which kills 50 million people. You're still alive and you're already… 20. When you are 29 you survive the global economic crisis that began with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange and causes inflation, job shortages, and famine in the world population. When you are 33, the Nazis come to power in Germany. When you are 39 years old, World War II breaks out. When you reach the age of 45, you realize that in this war, 60 million people died, and among them, in the Holocaust, 6 million Jews. When you're 52, the Korean War is raging. When you are 64, the Vietnam War begins, which ends when you are 75. A child born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea about life’s difficulties. But the grandparents have already survived several wars and disasters. In our time we enjoy all the conveniences the world has to offer, but we have been exposed to a new plague. People complain when for several weeks they are quarantined in their homes. But they still have electricity, cell phones, food, hot water, and a roof over their heads. Such things and such conveniences did not exist in those past days, but humanity survived despite the difficulties, and a considerable part of the population did not lose the desire to live or the joy of life. Today we complain when we have to walk around with masks on in various settings, in malls and other places. A little perspective can add wonders. We need to say thank you that we are alive, and that we will do whatever it takes to protect ourselves and others! I think this post should be shared and published to the whole world, and if any one of you is of the same opinion, help by sharing this. Thank God we are alive. I say the following: Always hope for the best but prepare for the worst! This is Yeshua’s advice - be wise and build your house on the rock (Mathew 7:25)! I suppose that this message is very appropriate for the feast of Sukkot. It is a reminder that we are all fiddlers on the roof. Nothing is sure in this life except death. In Israel we say that there are only two things that are certain in life; death and taxes. However, after hearing last night’s debate between the US president and the Democratic candidate, I am not even sure about taxes. The reading portion from the prophets is from the last chapter of Zechariah, chapter 14. This chapter includes one of the most amazing prophecies, one that predicts a time when, during the feast of Sukkot, all of the nations will send a representative of their country to Jerusalem, to worship the Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. Of course, the Gospel of John, chapter 7, is all about the feast of Sukkot. And Yeshua’s teaching in that chapter is all connected and related to the practices and teachings of this important feast that Yeshua and His disciples kept faithfully. They went to Jerusalem from the Galilee to celebrate this feast! You have to realize that they walked or came on a donkey from the Galilee to Jerusalem. This is a distance of anywhere of from between 150 to 200 miles. How long do you think that it took to make this trip to Jerusalem, and after the feast, back to the Galilee? For sure it was not easy for people from the Galilee to come to Jerusalem three times per year, Passover, Shavuot (Pentecost), and Sukkot (Tabernacles). What does this teach us about the disciples of Yeshua in relationship to the Torah and to their Jewish identity? It’s simple! It teaches us that Yeshua and His disciples were doing their best to make sure that their righteousness exceeded that of the scribes and Pharisees (see Matthew 5:20). The question that I ask myself is simple! Joseph, who do you follow? Who is your lord? What does your lord require of you? When there is a question, who are you going to obey? This is going to be the first year in more than 25 years that I will not build a physical Sukkah on my balcony. With the coronavirus, our life is already as unstable as a fiddler on the roof! Ask yourselves those questions from the above paragraph, and you should answer all of them the same, because if you answer one you have answered them all!
I ask you to pray for all of Israel this weekend and for your own countries. We are given a commission to be salt and light in this world and in these days of pandemic who else shall take this responsibility other than the body of the Messiah.
We must continue pray for the whole world and each of us for his own country and please add prayer for Israel. The situation in Israel is now one of the worst in the world We have a higher coronavirus per capita death and infection rate than that of the USA.
I believe that this coronavirus is a plague like all of the biblical plagues that God sent to correct Israel and to restore them to a better relationship with Him, and to greater respect for their creator.
When Israel repented or looked at the brass snake that Moses lifted up, they received healing. Of course, we don’t need a brass serpent like in the days of Moses, but we do need to lift up our eyes and focus on Yeshua our Lord and on nothing else.
What this means is a refocusing of our faith on the Gospel of the Messiah and not on the denominations that have divided and divided again the body of the Messiah and diverted the center of our faith from the one that was crucified to the institution of the church.
I believe that this plague like every other plague in the word of God, comes from God and can be stopped by God.
Let us all pray and encourage our spiritual leaders to lead and to point us toward repentance and to confession of our sins and weaknesses, so that the Lord will lift this coronavirus from off of this earth and we will remember the Lord and seek to walk in His paths of righteousness and truth.
Please keep praying for Marcia’s health, her memory, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson who are also staying at home and working from home during this time. Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her health is failing.
I will have cataract eye surgery on October 12th. The cataract surgery is very common and normally no big deal for most people, but for me it is a big deal because I see with only one eye, and that surgery has to be successful or I will be totally blind.
So, please pray for me and my surgery. Another sister from Jerusalem, Hadassah, is also going to have surgery that is more serious, and I ask you all to pray for Hadassah. Pray for a successful surgery and total healing and recovery for Hadassah our dear sister.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Brazil is one of the countries with a very high rate of sick and dead people from the coronavirus.
We have brothers and sisters all around Brazil, and I ask you to just say a prayer for divine protection and wisdom to keep them free from this deadly plague. Also include in your prayers Caique de Oliveira Becker. These are people in Brazil that need the Lord’s special grace for healing.
Please keep in your prayers our dear brother Pastor TJ in Taiwan. TJ is going through a new phase in his life. He lost his dear wife Angela to cancer. Sister Angela was a spiritual anchor for TJ and the community. We pray for our dear brother and for the community in Taiwan.
Keep Ruby Little in your prayers, our dear sister from Oklahoma City, who is also battling against cancer and add to your prayers Allison Howard Williams. Allison is the daughter of one of my very special teachers and friends, Dr. George Howard. Allison is also battling cancer.

Please keep praying for Samuel Lopes, a 17-year-old boy who is going through an extremely hard time. His father and mother are extremely upset that he is not walking with the Lord and I heard from his father he has joined with friends who are far from the path of righteousness.

Our brother in Finland Erki Murto is gone. Erki passed from this world several days ago. Please let us keep Sirpa, Erki’s widow in our prayer.
May the Lord comfort her and consul her in these hours of sorrow and grief. Also pray for our other brothers and sisters in Finland who need our prayers, Evelina, and Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia and Victor, and Aaron Tani, and Hillel and his wife.

I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus. His name is Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is in the hospital and his condition is very challenging. Please join us in lifting Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias in your prayers.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in Heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.
Please add to your prayers the family of Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy their son. I believe that this is a good thing for us to pray for friends and acquaintances who are Muslims. It is an act of love and reconciliation to carry before the throne of mercy those dear people who are seeking peace and righteousness looking toward the Lord for mercy and healing.

By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters, and whom you do not know personally, you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.” “Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do. Your sincere prayers for people around the world do the following things for the Kingdom, the King, and for the body of the Messiah:
1. They unite you and the body in a major transcendent bond of prayer.
2. They demonstrate the oneness of the people of God.
3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.

Ahuva. Please pray for a dear brother who is well into his 90’s and lost his wife several weeks ago. His name is Dov H.
Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic.
Businesses are closing and bankruptcy is happening to old established companies and businesses and even our national airline is on the verge of bankruptcy. People do not have money to put food on their tables. The number of people in need of basic food is growing.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to go to the webpage: www.netivyah.org and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system. The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel going to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail. Enough!

Anarchist elements have taken the center of Portland, OR, and turned it into chaos, and disorder. So, please pray for Portland, OR, and for our brothers and sisters in that city.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
Third please pray for a new project that we are starting in Israel in partnership with the Houses for Healing ministry from Abilene, Texas.
The aim is to provide hospitality for families of critically ill patients who are hospitalized in one of Jerusalem’s hospitals and who have no means to stay in hotels while their family members are in the hospitals.
This is a critical need especially in these days when there are hundreds of men and women who are in the COVID-19 ICU units for weeks and even months.
We need your prayer and your help to make this a meaningful and significant blessing both for the sick and for their families.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children.
