이스라엘과 온 세계를 위해 기도하는 친애하는 형제자매 여러분 모두께 샬롬이 있기를 축복합니다. 여러분이 보시다시피 코로나바이러스는 아직 우리와 함께 있습니다. 이 전염병은 아직 끝나지 않았고 우리 모두는 아직 날마다 코로나바이러스 신규 발병으로 고통 받고 있습니다.

Shalom to all of you dear brothers and sisters who pray for Israel and for the world. As you can see the coronavirus is still with us. The plague is not over yet, and we are all still suffering from new cases of coronavirus every day.
There was hope that it is over, but there is a new flare-up in schools. Especially the high schools in Jerusalem have been hit hard. The young people didn’t observe the rules and didn’t wear their masks and didn’t keep social distancing. They came back to school and hugged and kissed and didn’t wash their hands. So, in the best high school in Jerusalem, very near to our office and congregation, there were in one day 160 cases of infected youth. So, they closed the school for two weeks. There are now several schools in Jerusalem who have been closed for two weeks, but in three weeks the school year is over. I hope that when you read this prayer list you will pray first for your corner of the world and also include Israel. It looks like everything in Israel is going wrong, the coronavirus and the economic aftermath of the coronavirus and our politics too. The US is also in deep trouble. The riots and civil disorder covering everything from LA to NYC and everything in between. Just this morning I completed a very interesting video on the Netivyah Facebook page. I explained that the early rabbis from the first and second centuries after Christ did believe that Isaiah chapter 53 talks about the Messiah. The later Jewish rabbis that lived between the 12th century and the 19th century attributed the “servant of the Lord” mentioned in Isaiah as being the nation of Israel. It does not really work logically but religions have their own logic. My problem is that I have never been able to understand or agree with the logic of most of the too religious and too spiritual people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and fellowshipping with. The Torah reading this Shabbat is from Numbers 8:1-12:16. It is a long reading, the name is Beha’alotcha. It starts with the setting up of the candelabra inside the tent of meeting, and later in the Temple in Jerusalem. From the prophets the reading is from Zechariah 2:10 - 4:7, and from the New Testament it is from 1 Corinthians 10:6-13. I am going to try to keep it short this week. Some have said that my prayer list is too long with teaching. So, I will concentrate on the candelabra of seven candles made of pure gold. The making of this candelabra is also very interesting to me. It was made from one piece of gold. It was hammered into shape. It has a central shaft and three semi-circular branches that branch out on both sides of the central shaft. In other words, it was made in the shape of a tree with three branches on each side. The candles were lit all day long and all the night long. The fuel of this candelabra was olive oil. What is interesting about this candelabra is that in the apostle John’s book of Revelation the model after which the churches in Asia Minor are presented is just such a candelabra of seven candles. When you read the report that the angel gives John and the reprimands that he issues against each church you would think that these churches are really bad, and they were, but the point of describing them as a candelabra of seven candles is that they are still connected and made from one piece of gold. I think that this is the point of the picture of Revelation chapters 1-3. No matter how serious the problems are, and there were some very serious spiritual issues and moral issues, in most of these seven churches, yet, they are still a part of the light giving and life-giving organism of the Lord’s body. There is a threat that the Lord will put their light out and they will be in darkness, but in each case of the seven churches there is still hope that they can make corrections and do right. Israel is commanded twice, in Isaiah 42:6, and 49:6, to be the light of the world. The disciples of Yeshua were declared to be the light and the salt of the world. We need to remember that when Yeshua spoke these words He was speaking to Jews. However, the non-Jews in the body of the Messiah have the same commission as the Jews because they were grafted in through the blood of Yeshua to the commonwealth of Israel. The English are still so proud of the British Commonwealth. The princes of the British royals visit their commonwealth countries and are received with honor and dignity and celebration. I think that the commonwealth of Israel that the apostle Paul is speaking of in Ephesians 2:10-13, a commonwealth created by God from the time of Abraham, is something much more worth celebrating and honoring and rejoicing over than the British Commonwealth. It is an issue of identity and identity with the chosen people of God is much more important. Please read the text of Numbers and of Zechariah and from 1 Corinthians. Reading the word of God is enriching and equipping, providing you with what can’t be received anywhere else, not even in churches. During this coronavirus time I have added many teachings to the Netivyah Facebook page. Some of these teachings are very good and very important. Please take some time to relax and to listen to these teachings. In Hebrew there are four teachings on the book of Hebrews. Please look for the first one and follow through to the fourth one. In English the book of Hebrews is in one lesson. Today I did one on the treatment of Isaiah 53 in rabbinical literature. This is a very important teaching especially for those who want to talk about and to share the good news with Jewish friends.
Now, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you all to pray for the Netivyah staff, Yehuda and his family, Daniel and his family, Nir and his family, Tigist and her family, Adam and his family, and the Shulam family both Marcia and I in Israel and also Barry and Danah and their families.
Pray for the scientists to find and develop a vaccination for the coronavirus. Pray for the rioting and hate mongering in the US to stop and for sanity to come to all of the communities. Pray for church leaders and synagogue leaders and the leaders of Muslim communities to join in seeking peace and making peace.
Please keep praying for Marcia’s health, memory, and diabeties, and rheumatoid arthritis. Danah our daughter needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers.
Please keep our dear sister from Brazil Michelle O., in your prayers.
Please pray for the family and for Lawrence Tours. The staff and the family have a big challenge ahead of them to keep the business going in this time of coronavirus when there are no tourists and international travel is non-existent in Israel and in many other parts of the world, prayer is the only cure.
Please add to your prayers a special prayer for the following brothers and sisters who need divine intervention on their behalf: Angela I, Rachael and Daniel a brother and sister who need jobs and emotional healing. Also add Tony B., and Aries Franklin Mayers Sr. Please don’t forget Nancy and Don Hook, Rachel – Jingyung Lee, Hannah Yoshida from Kyoto, and Dr. Yuizawa, Tiz H., Lion H., Ilana Avrahamov, Michael Shiffman, Ruby L., Angela from Taiwan.
The world and the millions of people who are all dealing with the coronavirus and the hundreds of thousands of families who have lost their loved ones to this plague of biblical proportions. We also need to be grateful for the countries like Israel who are beginning to come out and return to normality with caution and care.
Please pray for my family, Marcia and Danah and Noaam, Barry, Beth, and Joey Shulam. Marcia’s mother June Saunders. I heard from Ann West’s son that Ann West is 100 years old and still sharp and going strong. Please keep Ann West in your prayers. To sustain the businesses of so many brothers and sisters around the world and in Israel who have had no income for three months. Pray for those who are looking for new jobs to be blessed with better jobs that they had before the coronavirus.
Please pray for those who have private businesses to be blessed with a quick recovery and even greater success and blessings than what they had before this plague.
Sunday morning is the beginning of our Prime Minister’s court trial. He is being charged with three serious charges. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system.
The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel to go to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail.
Enough!
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many.
I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry. Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your very best to stay on board with us and communicate.
We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children. Those who hear God and do His will are the ones who are called wise! Those who only hear His word and don’t do it are called foolish! Let us all strive to be wise and never foolish! The best is yet to come!
