이번 안식일에 읽는 토라 포션은 두 개입니다. 우리는 레위기의 마지막 두 포션, “베하르”와 “베후코타이”, 레위기 25:1~27:34를 읽을 것입니다. 선지자의 글에서 읽는 부분은 예레미야 16:19~17:14입니다. 신약성경에서는 고린도후서 6:14-18을 읽습니다. 이 본문들은 모두 흥미롭고 중요한 계시로 가득합니다.

레위기 25~27장의 토라 포션은 중요한 포션 중 하나입니다. 이 장들 속에는 축복과 저주가 있습니다. 축복은 믿음과 하나님과 그분의 명령에 충성됨에 대한 보상이며, 혹은 저 같으면 어쩌면 선을 행할 기회일 수도 있다고 말씀드리고 싶습니다.

저는 사도 바울의 서신들을 다시 읽으면서 주님의 계명에 대한 제 가치관을 바꿨습니다. 에베소서 2:10 같은 말씀은 기독교회에 생긴 반-토라, 반-구약 가르침의 정서 때문에 너무도 많은 “위대한 기독교 지도자들”에게서 무시되어왔습니다.

저는 기독교회를 말씀드리는 것이며 이러저러한 교파를 제외시키는 것이 아닙니다. 신약교회의 회복에 헌신해온 교회들조차 우선 연구하고 이차적으로 회복을 구현한다는 방향에 진지한 발걸음을 한 걸음도 내디딘 적이 없습니다.

1세기 교회의 회복이라는 목적을 위해 19세기 초에 생겨난 교회들은 이미 그들 교파에 그들의 존재 이유를 주었던 이 중요한 패러다임을 포기했습니다.

이 장들을 아주 흥미롭게 만드는 흥미로운 점 몇 가지는 이렇습니다:

매 7년마다 – 슈미타(안식년)입니다. 이 해는 이스라엘의 농부들이 농지에서 경작을 멈추는 해입니다. 밭갈이도 멈추고, 파종도 멈추고, 추수도 멈추고, 그냥 모든 계절 12달 동안 밭을 돌보지 않고 그대로 놔두는 완전한 중지를 뜻하는 것입니다.

이것은 그들이 거의 2년 동안 아무 농작물이 없게 된다는 뜻입니다. 냉장고도 없었고 서늘한 저장고나 농작물을 보관할 방법도 없었습니다. 주님께서는 그분께서 어떻게 하실지 알고 계셨습니다.

안식년 전 해에 밭은 농부들이 안식년과 그 후 경작하고 씨 뿌린 다음 해까지 2년 동안 먹고 살 수 있을 만큼 소출을 평년보다 두 배 이상 내었습니다.

이것은 주님께서 우리를 시험하시지도 않으시며 주님께서 우리에게 주신 힘 이상으로 도전하시지도 않으신다는 교훈을 가장 잘 보여주는 것입니다. 이 토라 포션에서 얻는 안식년의 교훈은 일곱 번의 안식년인 49년과 50년에 이르는 희년과 연관되어 있습니다.

이 포션에서 두 번째로 중요한 것은 주님의 계명을 듣고 준행하는 자에게 오는 축복입니다. 하나님과 그분의 율법에 순종함에 대한 축복은 열한 절에 걸쳐 있습니다. 배역하고 불순종한 나라에 대한 저주는 서른세 절에 걸쳐 있습니다. 순종에 대한 축복보다 세 배나 됩니다. 축복과 저주 사이에 다른 점은 두 가지 범주로 되어 있습니다.

축복은 100 퍼센트 좋고 긍정적이며 오랫동안 여러분과 함께 있는 그런 종류입니다.

“너희는 내 규례를 행하며 내 법도를 지켜 행하라 그리하면 너희가 그 땅에 안전하게 거주할 것이라 땅은 그것의 열매를 내리니 너희가 배불리 먹고 거기 안전하게 거주하리라.” – 레위기 25:18,19

우리 이웃과 평화를 이루는 비결이 여기 있습니다. 종교가 아니라, 믿음과 주님의 법도와 계명을 지키고 준행하는 것입니다. 여러분이 이것이 맞지 않는다고 생각하신다면, 저는 여러분께 야고보서와 요한일서를 읽어보시라고 도전합니다.

주님께 순종하고 경청하는 것에 대한 멋진 결과와 보상에 따르는 추가적인 축복이 있습니다. 다음의 축복 구절들을 주목해 보십시오:

“너희가 내 규례와 계명을 준행하면 내가 너희에게 철따라 비를 주리니 땅은 그 산물을 내고 밭의 나무는 열매를 맺으리라 너희의 타작은 포도 딸 때까지 미치며 너희의 포도 따는 것은 파종할 때까지 미치리니 너희가 음식을 배불리 먹고 너희의 땅에 안전하게 거주하리라.” – 레위기 26:3-5

저주는 대부분 축복의 반대 면입니다:

“그러나 너희가 내게 청종하지 아니하여 이 모든 명령을 준행하지 아니하며 내 규례를 멸시하며 마음에 내 법도를 싫어하여 내 모든 계명을 준행하지 아니하며 내 언약을 배반할진대 내가 이같이 너희에게 행하리니 곧 내가 너희에게 놀라운 재앙을 내려 폐병과 열병으로 눈이 어둡고 생명이 쇠약하게 할 것이요 너희가 파종한 것은 헛되리니 너희의 대적이 그것을 먹을 것임이며 내가 너희를 치리니 너희가 너희의 대적에게 패할 것이요 너희를 미워하는 자가 너희를 다스릴 것이며 너희는 쫓는 자가 없어도 도망하리라.” – 레위기 26:14-17

저는 여러분께 례위기 25장부터 27장까지 읽어보시기를 권해 드립니다. 여러분은 아주 흥미롭고 이스라엘 및 이스라엘과 언약관계에 들어간 여러분을 포함하여 모든 사람들에게 준, 격려가 되는 말을 볼 수 있을 것입니다. 이제 여러분은 “이 죠(요셉 슐람)가 무슨 말을 하는 거지? 우리는 이방인이라서 소위 “옛 언약”과는 아무 상관이 없는데.” 혼잣말을 하실지도 모르겠습니다.

여러분이 하셔야 할 일은 바울 서신 에베소서 2:11-18를 읽고, 그리스도로 말미암아 그리스도 안에서 여러분이 하나님의 언약들(복수)을 상속했고, 이스라엘 나라 밖 이방인이었던 여러분이 지금은 메시아(그리스도)의 피로 말미암아 이방인으로서 여러분에게 없었던 모든 좋은 것을 받았다는 것을 보는 것입니다. 지금 여러분은 그 모든 것을 가지고 있습니다!

여러분은 레위기의 이 나머지 장들에서 하나님께서 이스라엘에 두신 끔찍한 저주들을 볼 수 있을 것입니다. 저희 회중에는 1972년부터 동생 다비드가 100세의 나이로 죽은 지난 해까지 훌륭한 정통유대교 유대인이 두 명 있었습니다.

여러분은 격려되고 고무될 것이고, 그 다음에는 두려움이 가득해져 주 하나님을 시험하지 말도록 권함을 받을 것입니다. 그런 다음 여러분은 역사의 베일이 벗겨지고 하나님의 모든 약속이 이루어진 것을 볼 것입니다. 1970년대 저희 회중의 초창기 멤버였던 두 명의 정통유대교 유대인 다비드와 요셉 박토르는 동유럽의 나치 죽음의 수용소를 거쳐 온 이들이었습니다.

요셉은 매년 레위기의 이 본문을 읽을 때마다 주님의 이 모든 약속이 낱낱이 이루어지는 것을 자기 눈으로 직접 보고 그의 몸으로 직접 겪었다고 말했습니다. 하나님의 약속은 사람의 약속이 아닙니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 약속을 낱낱이 지키시며 아주 사소한 것까지 행하십니다.

모세오경에 있는 저주에 관한 장에 따르면, 언제나 하나님의 은혜와 우리 모두를 향한 그분의 사랑이 결국에는 이긴다는 위대하고 멋진 결말이 있습니다. 이스라엘은 구원 받고 안전하며, 열방은 이스라엘의 하나님께 경배하러 오고, 우상숭배를 버리고 우리 모두를 애굽에서 데리고 나와 영원히 우리의 기업으로 들이신 주 하나님을 알게 되고 경배하게 됩니다!

예레미야 16장과 고린도후서 2장에서 읽는 부분에서 짧은 단평입니다.

예레미야 16:19 말씀은 너무 강력하고 분명한데요, 오늘날 우리는 이것이 전 세계에서 일어나고 있는 것을 보고 있습니다. 태평양 섬들에서부터 북극 근처 라플란드 동토에 이르기까지 예슈아의 제자들이 일어나고 있습니다. 103개 이상의 나라로부터 이민 온 이민자들이 여전히 이스라엘로 밀려들어오고 있습니다.

여러분은 예루살렘이나 이스라엘의 다른 소도시나 마을의 거리를 걸어가다 보면 온갖 피부색과 인종의 유대인이 거리를 걸어가는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 젊은이들은 종종 그들이 복무 중인 군부대의 군복을 입고 있습니다. 좀 더 나이가 있는 사람들은 유대신앙과 유대인의 상징을 띠고 있습니다. 그렇습니다, 하나님께서는 신실하시어 그분께서 광야에서 모세에게 하셨고 이스라엘의 선지자들에게 반복하셨던 약속들을 지키십니다. 다음 말씀을 주목하시기 바랍니다:

“여호와 나의 힘, 나의 요새, 환난날의 피난처시여 민족들이 땅 끝에서 주께 이르러 말하기를 우리 조상들의 계승한 바는 허망하고 거짓되고 무익한 것뿐이라 사람이 어찌 신 아닌 것을 자기의 신으로 삼겠나이까 하리이다 여호와께서 이르시되 보라 이번에 그들에게 내 손과 내 능력을 알려서 그들로 내 이름이 여호와인 줄 알게 하리라.” – 예레미야 16:19-21

사랑하는 형제님들, 예레미야가 이방인들, 열방이 깨어나 우상과 무가치한 조각상들과 무익한 우상 숭배의 헛됨을 보고 주님께 돌아올 것이라고 예언하고 있음을 주목하십시오. 이 과정은 사도행전에서 로마 백부장 고넬료와 그의 가족으로 시작되었는데, 2000년도 더 지난 후까지 이 과정이 계속되고 있습니다.

로마교회와 그 교회가 낳은 교파들은 하나님과 성령님의 이 운동의 흐름을 딴 데로 돌리고 막기 위해 온갖 일을 하려고 했습니다. 전 세계 기독교인들은 기독교 교파들이 퍼뜨려온 거짓말, 가짜 뉴스와 가짜 복음을 알아가고 있습니다.

전 세계 기독교인들이 스스로 하나님의 말씀을 읽으며 거짓 가르침과, 가짜 절기와, 저들 중 어떤 이들이 굳건히 붙들고 주장하기도 하는, 성경에 근거도 없고 언급도 없는 시시한 이슈를 가지고 형제와 형제를 갈라놓고 자매와 자매를 갈라놓은 거짓 가르침을 알아가고 있습니다. 걱정하지 마십시오, 여러분이 나머지 예레미야 본문을 읽어보시면 주님께서 이스라엘도 아끼지 않으신다는 것을 보실 수 있을 것입니다.

고린도후서 본문도 저에게 도전이 되는데요, 제 생각에는 많은 형제자매님에게도 도전이 될 것 같습니다:

“너희는 믿지 않는 자와 멍에를 함께 메지 말라 의와 불법이 어찌 함께 하며 빛과 어둠이 어찌 사귀며 그리스도와 벨리알이 어찌 조화되며 믿는 자와 믿지 않는 자가 어찌 상관하며 하나님의 성전과 우상이 어찌 일치가 되리요 우리는 살아 계신 하나님의 성전이라 이와 같이 하나님께서 이르시되 내가 그들 가운데 거하며 두루 행하여 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 나의 백성이 되리라 그러므로 너희는 그들 중에서 나와서 따로 있고 부정한 것을 만지지 말라 내가 너희를 영접하여 너희에게 아버지가 되고 너희는 내게 자녀가 되리라 전능하신 주의 말씀이니라 하셨느니라.” – 고린도후서 6:14-18

고린도후서 6장의 이 말씀은 받아들이기도 동의하기도 쉽지 않은 말씀입니다. 오늘날 기독교회의 상황은 사실 이 말씀에 반대되게 역사하고 있습니다. 여러분이 성령님의 가르침과 이 말씀에서 주님께서 우리에게 주신 지혜를 살아내고 싶어 하신다면 여러분은 대부분의 교회에서 과격하고 무정하며 은혜가 없는 사람으로 여겨질 것입니다. 여러분은 따돌림 당하고 배척당할 것입니다.

그러나 하나님의 말씀의 이 명령을 지키는 것이 여러분이, 그 중 어떤 사람들은 여러분의 친척일 수도 있는, 우상숭배자나 부도덕한 사람들을 사랑하지 않아야 한다는 뜻이 아니라는 것은 말해야 할 것입니다. 이것은 그저 여러분이 어둠 가운데 살며 우상 숭배하는 사람들과 계약을 맺지 않는다는 뜻입니다. 여러분은 그들에게 사랑과 은혜를 보여주며, 그들이 메시아의 빛과 그분의 말씀의 지혜를 보도록 고무하시고, 좋은 본이 되시고, 여러분을 시험하려고 그들이 여러분 앞에 놓을 덫과 함정을 조심하십시오!

하나님께서는 예루살렘을 위해서, 그리고 예루살렘에 있는 저희를 위해 기도하시는 여러분 모두에게 복 주십니다. 이스라엘에서는 격리가 거의 끝났습니다. 많은 것들이 완화되기는 했지만 집 밖이나 공공장소에서는 마스크를 쓰고 장갑을 껴야 합니다. 사람들이 언제 어디를 갈 수 있는지에 대한 제한은 아직 있지만, 교통은 정상으로 돌아왔고 쇼핑센터도 오늘 문을 열었고 학교도 열어 다시 가게 되었지만 아직 정상대로는 아닙니다.

학생들 사이에 2 미터 간격이 지켜져야 하고 마스크를 쓰고 손을 자주 씻어야 합니다. 저희는 의료계의 예상처럼 코로나바이러스의 2차 파동이 일어나지 않도록 기도하고 있습니다. 비행기들이 다시 이스라엘로 오기도 하고 이스라엘 밖으로 가기도 하며 관광산업이 재개되기를 위해서도 기도하고 있습니다.

세계 대부분의 나라들처럼 이스라엘의 경제 상황도 아직까지 미국, 독일, 스페인, 프랑스를 포함하여 여러 나라들만큼 좋지는 않지만, 그래도 아직은 이란이나 세계의 몇몇 나라보다는 좀 낫습니다.

저는 제 건강에 대해 여러분의 기도가 필요합니다. 5월 14일에 저는 비뇨기관, 특별히 전립선에 악성 종양이 있는지 알아보기 위해 병원에서 침습 검사를 합니다. 저는 날마다 하나님의 선하심과 긍휼하심에 감사드리며, 하나님께서 제 건강을 회복시키어 제가 하나님의 말씀을 계속 가르칠 수 있게 하실 것을 믿습니다. 저는 최종 검사가 암이 아니라는 소식을 기다리고 있지만, 그렇지 않더라도 저희는 각각의 문제를 처리하며 계속 하나님을 찬양하며 섬길 것입니다.

여러분의 기도에 제 아내 마르시아도 기억하여 그녀의 건강을 위해 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 저희 딸 다나는 지금 처한 상황 때문에 여러분의 기도가 많이 필요하고, 저희 손녀 노아암도 그렇습니다. 노아암은 은사도 많고 삶에 어려움도 많은 훌륭한 아가씨입니다. 여러분의 기도 가운데 다나와 노아암을 올려드려 주십시오. 여러분의 기도에 미셸 오(O.)를 기억해 주시기 바랍니다. 미셸은 백혈병 진단을 받았고, 신장결석도 있는 아가씨입니다. 그녀는 우리의 기도가 필요합니다.

많은 사람들이 이 바이러스는 몇 년 전 세계를 강타했던 사스나 메르스 코로나바이러스처럼 자연발생적 돌연변이가 아니라고 믿고 있습니다. 많은 이들에게 이 바이러스는 세계 경제를 파괴하고 서구 권력을 약화시키는 궁극적인 무기로 소용되기 위해 사람에 의해 특별히 공학적으로 설계되었다고 보이는 것 같습니다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List

This Shabbat the reading is a double portion. We are reading the last two portions of the book of Leviticus, Behar and Bechukotai, Leviticus 25:1 – 27:34. From the Prophets the reading is Jeremiah 16:19 – 17:14. From the New Testament we read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. All these readings are interesting and full of important revelations.

The Torah portion of Leviticus chapters 25-27 is one of great importance. In these chapters there are the blessings and the curses. The blessings are a reward for faith and faithfulness toward God and to His demands, or maybe I should say opportunities to do good.

I have changed my outlook regarding the commandments of the Lord through re-reading the letters of the Apostle Paul. Texts like Ephesians 2:10 have been ignored by so many “great Christian leaders” because of the inbreeding of anti-Torah and anti-Old Testament teachings into the Christian churches.

I say the Christian churches and am not singling out this or the other denomination. Even churches that have been committed to the restoration of the New Testament Church have never even taken one serious step in the direction of first study and second implementation of a restoration.

Now those churches that were born in the early 19th Century for the purpose of restoring the church of the first century have already given up this important paradigm that gave these denominations their reason for existing.

Here are some interesting points that make these chapters so interesting:

Every seven years – the Shmita (Sabbatical year). This is the year that Israeli farmers stop farming their lands. I mean totally stop, stop ploughing, stop sowing the seeds, and harvesting, just leave the fields untended for a whole season of 12 months.

This means that they would have nearly two years of no farm produce. There were no refrigerators and cold storage, or a way of preserving the farm goods. The Lord knew what He was doing.

In the year before the Sabbatical year, the fields gave more than double their normal yield so that they had enough to live on for two years, the Sabbatical year and the year after they plowed and seeded their fields.

This is the greatest demonstration of the teaching that the Lord does not test us or challenge us beyond the strength that He has provided us with. The sabbatical year teaching from this portion of the Torah is connected with the Jubilee year that is seven Sabbatical years that come to a total of 49 years with the 50th year being the Jubilee year.

The second important thing in this reading are the blessings that will come to those who hear and obey the commandments of the Lord. There are 11 verses of blessings for obedience to God and to His Law. The curses for a rebellious and disobedient nation are 33 verses. Three times more than the blessings for obedience. Now the differences between the blessings and the curses are in two categories.

The blessings are 100 percent good and positive, and are the kind that stay with you for a prolonged time.

“So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety. Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill, and dwell there in safety.” – Leviticus 25:18,19 [NKJV]

Here is the secret of making peace with our neighbors. Not religion but faith and observation and obedience to the Lord’s judgments and commandments. If you think that this is not true, I challenge you to read the letter of James and 1 John.

There are additional blessings with wonderful consequences and rewards for obedience and hearing the Lord. Note the following verses of the blessings:

“If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.” – Leviticus 26:3-5 [NKJV]

The curses are mostly the other side of the blessings:

“But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.” – Leviticus 26:14-17 [NKJV]

I encourage you to read chapters 25 through 27 of Leviticus. You will find some very interesting and inspiring words given to Israel and all those like you who have entered into a covenant relationship with Israel. Now you might say to yourselves, “What is this that Joe is talking about?” We are Gentiles and have nothing to do with the so called “Old Covenant.”

All you have to do is read the letter of Paul to the Ephesians 2:11-18, and see that through and in Christ you have inherited the covenants of God (in the plural) and that you who were strangers to the commonwealth of Israel have now through the blood of the Messiah (Christ) received all the good things that as pagans you did not have. Now you have it all!

You will find in the rest of the reading of these chapters in Leviticus some horrible curses that God puts on Israel. We had two wonderful orthodox Jews in our congregation from 1972 until last year when David, the younger brother, died at 100 years old.

You will be encouraged and inspired, and then you will be full of fear and encouraged not to test the Lord your God. Then you will see history unveiled and all of God’s promises fulfilled. David and Joseph Vactor, the two orthodox Jewish brothers who were among the first members of our ministry in the early 1970s – went through the Nazi death camps of Eastern Europe.

Joseph said every year in the reading of this text of Leviticus that he has seen every one of these promises of the Lord fulfilled with his own eyes and in his own flesh. God’s promises are not man’s promises. God keeps every one of His promises and He does it to the smallest detail.

According to the chapter of curses in the Law of Moses, there is always a great and wonderful end when the grace of God and His love for us all wins in the end. Israel is saved and safe, and the world, the Gentiles, has come to worship the Lord God of Israel, and abandon idolatry and come to know and worship the Lord God who took us all out of Egypt and brought us into our inheritance forever and ever!

Just a short paragraph on the reading from Jeremiah 16 and from 2 Corinthians.

The reading from Jeremiah 16:19 is so strong and clear, and we are today seeing this happening all around the world. The disciples of Yeshua are arising from the islands of the Pacific Ocean to the frozen plains of Lapland near the North Pole. Immigrants from more than 103 different countries are still flowing to Israel.

You can walk in the streets of Jerusalem or any other town or village in Israel and see Jews of every color, and race walking the streets. The young ones often are in the uniform of the army units in which they serve. The older ones are wearing the symbols of the Jewish faith and nation. Yes, God is faithful and keeping His promises that He gave to Moses in the wilderness and repeated to the prophets of Israel. Please note the following text:

“O Lord, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say, ‘Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things.’ Will a man make gods for himself, Which are not gods? ‘Therefore behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know My hand and My might; And they shall know that My name is the Lord.’” – Jeremiah 16:19-21 [NKJV]

Note dear brothers: Jeremiah is predicting that the Gentiles, the nations, will wake up and see the futility of the worship of idols and worthless statues and unprofitable idols and turn to the Lord. This process started in the book of Acts with Cornelius the Roman centurion and his family, but more than 2000 years later the process continues.

The Roman church and her daughter denominations have tried to do everything to divert and stop this movement of God and the Holy Spirit. Christians around the world are discovering the lies that the Christian denominations have spread, fake news and fake good news.

People from around the world, Christians, are reading the word of God on their own and discovering false teachings, and false holidays, false teachings that divide and estrange a brother from brother and a sister from sister over nonsensical issues that have no root or mention in the holy scriptures, that they hold to and some are maintaining. Don’t worry, if you read the rest of the reading from Jeremiah you will see that the Lord does not spare Israel either.

The text from 2 Corinthians is also a challenge for me, and I suppose for many brothers and sisters:

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them And walk among them .I will be their God, And they shall be My people.’ Therefore ‘Come out from among them And be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.’ ‘I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters,’ Says the Lord Almighty.” – 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 [NKJV]

This text from 2 Corinthians 6 is not an easy text to accept and agree with. The situation of the Christian churches today is actually working against this text. If you would like to live out the instructions of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom that the Lord gives us in this text you would be considered in most churches as a radical, loveless, and ungracious, person. You will be ostracized and rejected.

However, it must be stated here that keeping this command of God’s word does not indicate that you don’t have love for those idolatrous and immoral people, some of which could be your own relatives. It just means that you don’t enter in a contractual relationship with people who are living in darkness and worshiping idols. You show them love and grace and encourage them to see the light of the Messiah and the wisdom of His words and be a good example and watch out for the traps and pitfalls that they will put in front of you to test you!

God bless all of you who pray for Jerusalem and for us in Jerusalem. The quarantine is almost over in Israel. Many things were eased but outside the home and in public places we must wear a mask and gloves. There are still restrictions on where and when people can go, but traffic is back to normal and the shopping centers are opening today, and schools are open and back but not to normal yet.

There is a two-meter space to be kept between students and they have to wear masks and wash their hands often. We are praying that the expectation of a second wave of the coronavirus will not come as it is predicted by the medical community. We are praying for flights to arrive back to Israel and out of Israel, and for tourism to resume.

Like the economies of most of the world, Israel’s economic situation is not better than many countries including the US, Germany, Spain, and France, but still better than Iran and some of the other countries around us.

I need your prayers for my health. On the 14th of May, I have an invasive test in the hospital to find out if I have a malignant tumor in my urinary system, and especially the prostate. I thank God every day for His goodness and mercy and trust Him to restore my health so that I can continue to teach His word. I am waiting for the final tests to come clean from cancer, but if they don’t, we will deal with each problem and continue to praise and serve God.

Please also keep Marcia my wife in your prayers for her health. Danah our daughter needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. She is a wonderful young lady with many gifts, and challenges in life. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please keep Michelle O., in your prayers. Michelle is a young lady who has been diagnosed with Leukemia, and also has kidney stones. She needs our prayers.

Pray for a dear brother Mr. Shukrey Lawrence, who is suffering from cancer and needs our prayers for strength and healing. Pray also for Lawrence Tours and the entire Tourist industry in Israel. There are no tourists and Hotels are being converted into temporary hospitals for the thousands of Coronavirus victims.

The tourist industry in Israel is suffering a death blow if there is not a reasonably quick lifting of all the restrictions and the return of airports to their normal function.

Please add to your prayers a special prayer for the following brothers and sisters who need divine intervention in their behalf: Angela I, Rachael and Daniel, a brother and sister who need jobs and emotional healing. Also add Tony B., and Aries Franklin Mayers Sr.

Don’t forget Nancy and Don Hook, Rachel – Jingyung Lee, Hannah Yoshida from Koyto, and Dr. Yukizawa , Tiz H., Lion H., Ilana Avrahamov, Michael Shiffman’s mother, Ruby L., Sister Angela from Taiwan, who has new challenges that are very serious and needs special prayer for a miracle from the Lord.

All this list includes people who are dealing with a major pandemic even greater than the coronavirus. They are all dealing with cancer in acute stages.

We, the disciples of Yeshua must take the ministry that was given to us by the Lord Himself, to ask in His name and He will bring our appeals before His Father.

The coronavirus has spread to more than 180 countries. There is no end in sight. Scientist around the world are working overtime to understand how this virus works and what systems in the human body it affects.

There are many who believe that this virus is not a natural mutation of the SARS and MERS coronaviruses that struck our world a few years back. It seems to many that this virus is especially engineered by humans to serve the ultimate weapon to destroy the economies of the world and weaken the world powers in the West.

As one can see even with one eye shut, that some of the world powers are getting stronger and doing a brisk business from the coronavirus aftershock.

I am happy to see that the Chinese government is easing the quarantine in China and in Wuhan and returning slowly to business as usual. This is a good sign to other countries that it is not impossible to conquer the coronavirus.

The coronavirus is threatening the world economy with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.

Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your very best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
