이번 안식일에 읽는 토라 포션은 “하예이 사라”, “사라의 삶(일생)”입니다!
읽는 본문은 창세기 23:1~25:18입니다.
선지서, 하프타라는 열왕기상 1:1-31이고,

The Jerusalem Prayer List – November 10, 2023

God’s Eternal Primis
This next Shabbat the reading will be from the portion (Parasha) named: CHAYEI SARAH; The Life of Sarah!
The reading will be from Genesis 23:1-25:18,
The prophets, the Haftarah, from 1 Kings 1:1-31
From the New Testament, we will read from Matthew 1:1-17, the genealogy of Yeshua. This Torah portion starts with the death of Sarah, Abraham’s beloved wife. Because of the age of Sarah and Abraham, I would assume that they were married for around 80 years. Because of the narratives of the book of Genesis from chapter 11 to chapter 23, I assume that they had something special between them and that they had a good and happy relationship and marriage. When I say, “happy relationship,”. I am not implying that everything in their relationship and life was rosy and without problems. We read in the book of Genesis that the challenges of their lives together were not simple. One of the biggest challenges in my opinion was the fact that Sarah was barren and didn’t have children, and it took a direct intervention from Heaven and a direct announcement from three Angels that came to Abraham’s camp to announce that Sarah at the age of 90 would get pregnant and conceive a son! One of the very dramatic events in Sarah’s life was when she suggested to Abraham that he ought to take Hagar, her Egyptian servant, and have sex with her so that he would have a son! This act that Sarah organized is a window into her heart and love for Abraham, her husband. You see, Sarah knew how much Abraham wanted a son. She also knew why Abraham was so anxious to have a son. I assume that Abraham’s anxiety came from the promises that God made to him before he left Harlan, in Northern Syria, and came down to the land of Canaan. Sarah was a true partner for life to Abraham, and she too left her homeland in Syria and her family and believed God’s promises to Abraham and his future descendants. So, here we have a woman, I should say a very noble woman, who loved her husband enough to recommend and offer him to have sex with her servant and produce a son that would inherit all the promises made to him! Notice that it was not Abraham’s idea to make a child with Hagar the Egyptian personal attendant of Sarah. Here is the text to refresh our memory: “Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go into my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. So he went into Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The LORD judge between you and me.” So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid is in your hand; do to her as you please.” And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her presence. Now the Angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” The Angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.” Then the Angel of the LORD said to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly so that they shall not be counted for multitude.” (Genesis 16:1-10 NKJV) This reading is so very important for all of us to remember: Here is a review and outline of the events: First, it was Sarah’s idea to present Hagar to Abraham and give Hagar the status of a wife for Abraham. Hagar according to the text, was not given to Abraham as a surrogate mother, Hagar was given to Abraham by Sarah with full consent that Hagar would be a wife to Abraham. Here is the text: “Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.” I am sure that Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham because she understood how much he wanted a son. She understood what Abraham himself understood that God’s promises of inheritance of the Land of Canaan, and being a blessing to all the nations (Gentiles) was contingent on having a son. Yes, it is true that Sarah and Abraham became impatient, and because of this Sarah suggested that Abraham have Hagar, the Egyptian Slave, to produce a son! This is a known phenomenon in all humans. We receive great promises both from men and from God, but we look for instant gratification and instant fulfillment and instant everything! If it is not instant we quickly lose our cool and start first complaining and second looking for some way to speed or advance to fast forward to satisfy our impatience. We become Nudniks. This is just the right word, Nudnick – a person who is impatience and nag nag nag nag. When I was a child and we were riding in a car going to Hertzeliah or Nahariah for vacation after 30 minutes in the car I would start the questions: “Abba, are we there yet?” - “Abba are we far?” - “Abba when are we going to get there?” - My father would be long-suffering for one or two of these questions. Then he would say, “One more “Abba” and you will start seeing backward.” We learn from this text that Sarah and Abraham tried to have a son for at least 10 years before these events took place. I can understand how desperate Sarah was to please her husband. We must remember that God promised Abraham while still in Haran that he would have a son and that son will the fulfillment of all the prophetic promises that God gave Abraham. Ten years passed and I don’t know how many times Abraham and Sarah tried to have children and The Lord didn’t enable Sarah to get pregnant and allow her to have a son! In this case, I can confess that I don’t understand God! History would be so different for Israel and the Jewish people if our neighbors surrounding our borders could have been Bulgarian, or even Greek. It would have been so much better. You see the descendent of Ishmael joined together with our other little more distant relatives the sons of Esau, who were also our relatives and became our biggest enemies until this very day. Yes, I don’t understand God, and the reason that I don’t understand God in relationship to this story of Abraham and Sarah his wife, and the reason why God didn’t give Sarah a son long before she was so desperate that she gave Hagar to Abraham as a wife. Yes, I don’t know so much about God, but I do know a little of what is written in the Bible. On the other hand, I must confess that the LORD knows what is best for this blue ball that is floating in the vast expanse of space and turning around the Sun every 24 hours. On the other hand, I am glad that in the end, the LORD gave Sarah the son of God’s promises, Isaac, and that the Messiah is a descendent of Isaac and not Ishmael. My respect and faith in God would have been damaged if God had not fulfilled his promises to Abraham and given Sarah a son to inherit all the promises that God had given to Abraham and Sarah. Some more very important promises are still to be fulfilled. I believe that they will be fulfilled and I hope that I will see and experience Yeshua coming down on some fancy high-technology spaceship that will land silently on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and all those graves will open up and the dead will arise at the sound of Gabriael’s Shofar. ______________________________________________________________________ Dear brothers and sisters, now is the time! Jonathan is one of the pioneer leaders of the Messianic movement and a true servant of the almighty God of Israël and Yeshua our Messiah!

Serious prayers for our war with Hamas to end soon and all the hostages to be returned safe and in one piece home to their loved ones!
Pray for our soldiers and especially for the soldiers that we know and appreciate: Yuda, Emanuel the son of Victor and Ayala, Amiel and Solomon and Ezekiel Intrater, Reuven and Clil Kovner, and any other children of Believers and of course for all of the men and women serving this country.
We need to pray that this continues to be the case. We need to pray for the World to understand and see that Israel is dealing with people who are not interested in peace. They are radical Islamists who are only driven by hate for Israel and for Jews and peace is the last thing on their minds.
Our government was holding back for months from opening this Pandora’s box and getting rid of the terrorists that are not only killing Jews and terrorizing the peaceful Israeli population but also preventing their people from working in Israel in good-paying jobs that provide honorable living for their families.
I hate that our boys, the men of our congregation, still serve in the Army and most of them in reserves have to fight and use weapons and do war to protect the civilian population of Israel from terrorism driven by hate and blindness.
Please pray for the Middle East and for the world to see and understand what the reality is here in this part of the world. The land that provided King David, the prophets, and Yeshua the Messiah – wants peace with our neighbors.
But they don’t want the hand that is stretched out in peace. They want to kill all the Jews and take their land, which is flourishing and a blessing for all the world, and make it a dump like their own place in Gaza and in the Arab countries.
In Jerusalem pray for the following brothers and sisters who need divine grace and the gentle touch of the hand of God for healing and strength.
Ilana Ahijervie, a dear sister who is 98 years old and suffering from memory problems.
Please pray for our dear sister Lea Kurkey.
Sarit, a sister born in Jerusalem, over 88 years old, lives alone. Has no close family, and suffers from several old-age illnesses.
Yehuda Hochman, is a dear older brother living in the Negev desert with some illness that needs healing.
Please keep praying for Marcia Shulam my wife. Pray that Marcia’s memory will stop weakening, and that her arthritis be healed and stop being active, and her strength to return to where she can take more care of herself.
Also ask prayer for me and my family and for all the sick and needing healing and grace from our Heavenly Father!

Pray for the congregations related to Netivyah in Brazil, to have the strength and stamina to face the challenges in front of them with courage and strength of faithfulness to the Lord, and to the vision of the restoration of the church and Israel.
Pray for the millions of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition who have been forced to convert to the Catholic church, and now want to return home to the land of Israel and to the faith of our fathers.
Pray for the state of Israel to open the doors for these lost Jews to be able to return and fulfill God’s promises to the prophet Ovadyah:
“But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau, For the Lord has spoken. The South shall possess the mountains of Esau, And the Lowland shall possess Philistia. They shall possess the fields of Ephraim And the fields of Samaria. Benjamin shall possess Gilead. And the captives of this host of the children of Israel Shall possess the land of the Canaanites As far as Zarephath. The captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad Shall possess the cities of the South. Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion To judge the mountains of Esau, And the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.” — Obadiah 1:17-21 [NKJV]

Pray for Bernardo Antonio Nothen Becker. Bernardo is addicted to gambling and playing poker. This caused deep sorrow to his family.

Fernanda Nothen Becker, our dear sister has problems with her job that cause her pressure and challenges. Pray for the social situation in Fernanda’s work to turn and her suffering to turn into joy and friendship.
A 70-year-old Pastor Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias is the father of a dear sister in Brazil, and suffers from diabetes.
Pray for Roberto Morias, a dear brother who is going through heart surgery and an angiogram.

Please pray for a dear 71-year-old sister called Bee Kim. She lost consciousness on February 26, 2023. She has not regained her consciousness after a massive stroke.

Lift for blessing and healing Jonathan B. and his wife Aviva and their new baby, his mother, and his brother Daniel. Pray for these very important men of God: Rabbi Salt, his family, and Rabbi Hasselblad. They are both older and need protection and blessings.
Pray a blessing for a dear sister Angela Isby and her situation. Pray for Tiz H. and Lion H.
Also, pray for Ilana Avramov who is married to my cousin Nissim and lives in New York City. Ilana has fallen and in now in rehab learning how to walk again. We pray for her full recovery. She and Nissim both need our prayers.
Steve Mock - His cognitive condition has declined, and we ask for the grace of God and His Healing and strength. Steve and Josie’s son Joseph - named after Joseph Shulam – has received a wonderful and glorious report. After the last bone marrow transplant the report is that the doctors didn’t find any leukemia his body! Praise the Lord!
Pray for three women of God in Canada who need healing, Lynda, Sandy and Joanne.
I am asking a special prayer for a dear brother and friend who is now doing a greatly important work in a very dangerous and precarious part of the world. Just mention DadyLion in your prayers, and ask for divine protection and angelic accompaniment for this man of God.

We need more workers because of the challenges and needs and opportunities to bless the King Yeshua and His Kingdom down here on Earth and bless the poor people of Jerusalem visit here do what they can and produce more materials, books, and magazines.
We ask you to join us in prayer that the right young people, talented and anointed by the Spirit of God will come and work with us, and the provision to pay the Netivyah workers a fair and just payment.
I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to visit here and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
