여호와는 네게 복을 주시고 너를 지키시기를 원하며
여호와는 그의 얼굴을 네게 비추사 은혜 베푸시기를 원하며
여호와는 그 얼굴을 네게로 향하여 드사 평강 주시기를 원하노라
하나님께서 그분의 얼굴을 우리에게 보이시면, 우리의 얼굴이 변합니다. 이것이 우리 삶 위에 축복한 아론의 축복의 현현(顯現)입니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 얼굴을 드러내실 대상이 되도록 이스라엘 민족을 선택하셨습니다. 그러므로 이 민족은 그들의 모습이 달라야 했습니다. 그런데 우리가 알 듯이 그 민족은 변화되지 않았습니다. 오히려 그 반대로 그들이 하나님의 계획에 반하여 돌아서자 그들의 얼굴은 어두워졌습니다. 에스겔 12:1-7에서는 하나님께서 곧 이루어지려하는 일, 이스라엘 백성의 유배가 임박했음을 백성에게 보여주시기 위해 아주 긴 내용이 내려갑니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 얼굴과 사랑과 계획을 우리에게 드러내시고 싶어 하십니다. 이 세상 염려와 이 세상에 바치는 예우는 우리가 하나님께서 우리에게 가지고 계신 모든 것을 받는 데에 문제가 됩니다. 대신 우리의 모든 분투의 대가로 얻는 것은, 평안 없이 우리 자신이 생존 모드로 살아가고 있는 모습을 보는 것입니다. 이런 형태의 삶은, 도전이 너무 커지고 우리가 우리 능력 이상으로 위협을 받을 때는, 우리를 하나님으로부터 멀어지게만 하는 본능에 의존하는 삶으로 이끌어 갈 것입니다. 하나님의 빛 가운데 있으려면 우리는 생존모드에 있어서는 안 됩니다. 우리 본성은 도마가 그랬던 것처럼 우리 육신의 눈으로 보아야겠다고 합니다. 아주 묘하게도, 이스라엘은 열 재앙, 홍해를 건너 애굽으로부터 구원 받음, 그 외의 일을 거치면서 하나님의 손과 보호하심을 육신의 눈으로 보았습니다. 그런데도 그들은 거듭 하나님의 뜻에 반하게 행동했습니다. 왜 그랬을까요? 생존모드로 사는 삶은 우리로 하여금 하나님의 인도하심이 아닌 사람의 해법을 찾게 만들기 때문입니다. 이런 삶의 방식에는 빛이 없습니다. 진짜로 주님을 보고 주님의 길을 따라가는 사람들의 얼굴에 있는 빛을 보는 것이 얼마나 쉬운 지 놀라울 정도입니다. 생존모드라는 것이 무슨 뜻이냐고요? 육신으로 살며, 내면적으로 항상 뭔가를 원하고 정말로 그것이 더 필요하다고 믿는 상태로 이끌리는 삶입니다. 우리는 갑자기 큰 변혁/재난이 닥칠 때 우리가 어떤 정도의 믿음을 가지고 있는지 혹은 생존 모드로 작동하고 있는지 알 수 있습니다. 여러분은 그것을 다른 사람들 속에서, 텅 빈 식료품 가게 진열장으로 달려가며, 훔치며, 쌓아두며, 공포에 질리는 많은 무리의 사람들 속에서 볼 것입니다. 법과 동료 인류에 대한 기본적 존중을 뛰어넘어, 생존본능과 자기보존으로 돌아서는 행동을. 우리는 우리 성품과 행동 안에서 지난 해 코로나바이러스가 초래한, 우리 스스로에 대해 놀라게 만든 것들과 변화를 보았을까요? 이렇게 1, 2년 계속된다면, 우리가 어떻게 행동할지 우리는 정말로 알고 있을까요? 첫째 백신이었습니다, 모든 바이러스 계통에 대한 것은 아니더라도, 그런 다음에도 계속 마스크를 써야 합니다. 어쩌면 두 번 맞아야 하며 접종 중에는 너무 가까이 하지 마십시오. 빛의 사람인 나는 어떻게 반응할까요? 하나님께서는 우리에게 하나님을 의뢰하라고, 그분께서 우리의 필요를 아시며 늦는 것 같이 보이더라도 결코 늦으시는 법이 없으신 분이심을 알라고 하십니다. 생존모드로 되돌아가는 것과 믿음으로 굳게 서는 것 사이에 차이를 만드는 것은 내면, 마음에서 시작되는 변화입니다. 우리가 겪어온 모든 것과 앞으로 겪게 될 모든 것에 대해 스스로에 대해 놀라게 만드는 모습으로 반응하고 있는 것을 보지 않도록 우리가 부지런히 하나님의 전신갑주를 입어야 하는 때가 왔습니다. 우리는 물을 수도 있습니다, 이런 일들이 정말 일어날 필요가 있는 것일까? 하나님께서는 왜 그냥 온 인류에게 그분을 드러내실 수는 없으신가? 우리는 정말로 이런 사건들이 펼쳐지는 이 과정을 겪어야만 하는가? 제가 골로새서 3:5-6을 읽을 때, 저는 사람 안에 있는 동물적 본능이 죽어야만, 부활하신 메시아께서 내 얼굴을 통해 빛을 발하실 수 있음을 봅니다. 부지런히 예슈아와의 친밀함을 구하며 우리 마음으로 아버지께 우리가 아직 육체 가운데 있을지라도 성령 충만하도록 기도합시다. 저는 그분께서 우리를 기다리고 계신다고 믿습니다. ------------------------------------------------------------ Shine Upon You
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.
When God shows us His face, our face changes, it is the manifestation of the Aaronic Blessing on our lives. God chose the nation of Israel to be the ones to whom He would reveal His face. Therefore, the nation should be different in their appearance. However, we see that the nation did not change; their faces were instead darkened, the opposite, as they turned against God’s plan. In Ezekiel 12:1-7; God goes to great lengths to show the people that what is about to come to pass; their exile, comes at His hand. He wants to reveal His face, love and plans to us. The worries of this world and the respect we pay to this world makes it problematic for us to receive all He has for us. What we get instead for all our striving is lack of peace as we find ourselves in a place where we are operating in survival mode. This type of life, when the challenges become too great and we are threatened beyond our ability, will draw us to lean upon instincts which only distance us from God. To be in His light, we cannot be in survival mode. In our personality, we have the need as did Thomas to see with our physical eyes. Oddly enough, Israel did see God's hand and protection with her physical eyes through the ten plagues and their deliverance from Egypt, crossing the Red Sea and on and on. Even still, they time and time again acted against God’s will. Why? Life in survival mode will only lead us to looking for man’s solutions and not God’s leading. There is no light in this way of living. It is amazing how easy it is to see the light on the faces of those who truly see and follow the way of the Lord. What do I mean by survival mode? Life in the flesh and the drawing to that something inside that always wants and truly believes it needs more. We can recognize what level of faith or survival we are operating in when catastrophe strikes; a suddenly. You will see it in others; groups of people running to empty grocery store shelves, stealing, hording, panicking. Behavior that surpasses law and basic respect for our fellow human being, turning to the survival instinct and self-preservation. Have we noticed things in our personality and behavior this past year of corona virus and the changes it has brought about which surprised us? Do we really know how we will behave if this continues another one or two years? First it was a vaccine, then well maybe not for all strains of the virus, then continue with the mask, maybe a double one and while we are at it, don’t get too close. How do I, a person of light, react? God calls us to trust in Him, understanding that He knows our needs and is never late no matter how it looks. That which makes the difference between reverting to survival mode and standing in faith is a change which begins inside, in the heart. The days are here when we must remain diligent to put on the whole armor of God lest we find ourselves responding to all we have been through and will be faced with in a way surprising even to ourselves. We may ask, is it really necessary for these events to take place? Why can’t God simply reveal Himself to all mankind? Do we really need to go through this process, this unfolding of events? When I read Colossians 3:5-6, I see the animal instinct in mankind which must die so that the resurrected Messiah can shine forth through my face.
Let us remain diligent in seeking intimacy with Yeshua and praying to the Father with our hearts; filled with His Spirit even as we are still in the flesh. I believe that He is waiting for us. |
