예루살렘 기도 목록 – 2020년 10월 29일

이번 주에 읽는 토라는 창세기 12:1~17:27입니다. 이 포션은 히브리어로 “레크 레카”, “너는 떠나라”입니다. 제가 이 문구 “레크 레카”를 번역한다면, 저는 “너는 네 주변을 정리하고 혼자 이사하여 나가라.”고 번역할 것 같습니다.
이 토라 포션에는 주님을 이해하는 데에, 그리고 아브라함의 씨가 가나안 땅과 더 큰 세계에 있게 된 것을 이해하는 데에 가장 많은 것을 알려주는 자료가 좀 있습니다. 여러분도 아시다시피, 창조주께서 아브라함을 부르신 목적은 아브라함을 위한 것일 뿐만 아니라 아브라함의 씨를 위한 것이기도 했습니다. 하나님께서 아브라함과 그의 씨를 선택하신 이유는 모든 민족에 축복과 화해를 가져오기 위한 것입니다. 그 축복은 열방을 회복시켜 그들이 하늘과 땅을 지으신 전능자, 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님과의 다시 관계를 맺고 믿음을 갖게 하는 것입니다. 이 토라 포션에 든 15장은 아브라함이 주님과 만나는 장면인데요, 여기에서 주님께서는 친히 그분께서 아브라함과 그의 씨에게 한 약속을 지키시겠다는 아주 진지한 서약을 하십니다. 15장에서 주님께서 반이 갈라진 동물 사이로 불로 지나가신 아브라함이 꾼 꿈의 의미는 만약 내가 네게 한 약속을 지키지 않는다면 내가 반이 잘라져 불에 살라질 것이라는 뜻입니다. 이런 종류의 서약은 고대 메소포타미아에서는 잘 알려진 것이며 만약 여러분이 약속을 지키지 않는다면 여러분에게 저주를 자초하는 가장 강력한 서약입니다! 창조주께서 아브라함에게 이렇게 철저한 확약을 하시는 이유는 다음과 같았기 때문입니다, “아브라함이 여호와를 믿으니 여호와께서 이를 그의 의로 여기시고” – 창세기 15:6 아브라함이 하나님의 약속을 믿은 믿음은 이성을 초월한 것입니다. 아브라함과 그의 아내 사라와, 아브라함으로 인해 우상숭배에서 한 분 하나님을 믿는 믿음으로 바꿨기 때문에 아브라함을 따르는 수백 명의 사람을 움직이게 한 것은 믿음입니다. 세상을 창조하신 그 한 분 하나님께서는 그분의 약속을 지키시는 하나님이십니다. 다음 구절은 주님께서 이삭에게 그의 아버지 아브라함에 대해 말씀하신 것입니다: “이 땅에 거류하면 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주고 내가 이 모든 땅을 너와 네 자손에게 주리라 내가 네 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 것을 이루어 네 자손을 하늘의 별과 같이 번성하게 하며 이 모든 땅을 네 자손에게 주리니 네 자손으로 말미암아 천하 만민이 복을 받으리라 이는 아브라함이 내 말을 순종하고 내 명령과 내 계명과 내 율례와 내 법도를 지켰음이라 하시니라.” – 창세기 26:3-5 많은 기독교인들에게 이 구절은 계시입니다. 친애하는 형제자매님들, 믿음을 갖는다는 것이 말을 듣지 않거나 불순종의 태도를 가져도 된다는 백지 위임을 주는 것은 아닙니다. 순종은 주님을 믿는 믿음, 의뢰, 충성하는 사람들에게는 언제나 중요했습니다. 물론 이것은 구약의 패러다임만은 아닙니다. 이와 똑같은 패러다임이 메시아 예슈아의 “산상수훈”의 가르침에서부터 반석 위에 집을 지은 지혜로운 자와 모래 위에 집을 지은 어리석은 자의 비유에 이르기까지 신약 전체에 있습니다. 예슈아께서는 반석 위에 집을 짓는 사람이란 말씀을 듣고 순종하는 사람이라고 말씀하십니다. 그의 집은 폭풍과 바람과 비와 홍수에도 견딥니다. 사도 서신들에 다음 구절들이 있습니다: “할례 받는 것도 아무 것도 아니요 할례 받지 아니하는 것도 아무 것도 아니로되 오직 하나님의 계명을 지킬 따름이니라.” – 고린도전서 7:19 “우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때까지 흠도 없고 책망 받을 것도 없이 이 명령을 지키라.” – 디모데전서 6:14 “우리가 그의 계명을 지키면 이로써 우리가 그를 아는 줄로 알 것이요 그를 아노라 하고 그의 계명을 지키지 아니하는 자는 거짓말하는 자요 진리가 그 속에 있지 아니하되 … 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 그에게서 받나니 이는 우리가 그의 계명을 지키고 그 앞에서 기뻐하시는 것을 행함이라.” – 요한일서 2:3,4, 3:22 저는 신약성경에서 앞의 말씀과 같은 말씀을 십여 개 더 가져올 수 있을 것입니다. 저는 오해를 받고 싶지 않습니다. 믿음이 없는 구원은 일어나지 않을 것입니다. 하나님의 명령에 순종하고 지키는 것이 없는 믿음 역시 효과적이지 않은 이유는 구원은 일회성으로 일어나는 일이 아니라 과정이기 때문입니다. 물론, 모든 것은 시작이 있고, 구원의 과정의 시작은 믿음입니다. 그러나 믿음 후에 고백과, 회개와, 세례와, 성령의 은사가 옵니다(행 2:28 이후 참조). 아브라함은 신실함의 상징이며 조상이지만, 우리는 아브라함을 하나님과 하나님의 명령에 대한 불순종을 정당화하는 구실로 이용해서는 안 됩니다. 물론, 제 생각에 아브라함이 이행한 순종을 가장 의미심장하게 보여주는 것 중 하나는 이번 안식일에 읽는 본문에 있는데요, 창세기 17장에 보고된 대로 할례입니다. 친애하는 형제님들, 이것에 대해 한 번 생각해 보십시오: 네, 가족과 함께 하란을 떠나 가나안 땅으로 내려가는 것은 믿음이라는 면에서도 순종이라는 면에서도 큰 이사입니다. 다음 말씀을 읽어보시기 바랍니다! “이에 아브라함이 하나님이 자기에게 말씀하신 대로 이 날에 그 아들 이스마엘과 집에서 태어난 모든 자와 돈으로 산 모든 자 곧 아브라함의 집 사람 중 모든 남자를 데려다가 그 포피를 베었으니 아브라함이 그의 포피를 벤 때는 구십구 세였고 그의 아들 이스마엘이 그의 포피를 벤 때는 십삼 세였더라 그 날에 아브라함과 그 아들 이스마엘이 할례를 받았고.” – 창세기 17:23–26 제 생각에, 이 행동은 짐을 꾸려서 가나안 땅으로 가는 것보다 훨씬 더 믿음을 요하는 것입니다. 90대의 아브라함이 아직 철이 출현하기 전, 청동만 있었을 때 원시적인 칼로 할례를 받는 것입니다. 또한 마취도 없고 항생제도 없이 그냥 베어야 합니다. 하나님께서 그것을 명하셨고 하나님께서 약속하셨기 때문입니다. 대부분의 기독교권에서 믿음을 갖는다는 것은 본질적으로 단지 어떤 신학적 원리에 동의하는 것 혹은 받아들이는 것입니다. 그것은 아무리 잘해야 “믿음”이라고 하는 어느 정도-이성적인 사상을 받아들이는 것입니다. 대부분의 기독교인들은 자기의 믿음 때문에 박해를 겪은 적이 없고, 가족과의 관계 같이 소중한 어떤 것을 희생해야만 했던 적도 없습니다. 성경에서 믿음은 아브라함이 가졌던 것과 같은 믿음을 의미합니다. 성경에서 아브라함에게, 그리고 하나님의 모든 신실한 자녀에게 믿음은 우리의 전적인 신뢰를 주님과 그분의 약속에 두는 것과, 만약 하나님께서 명하셨다면, 필요할 경우 집과 고향과 가족을 떠나는 것을 의미하는 것이었습니다. 성경에 있는 모든 믿음의 본과 성경의 히브리서 11장에 있는 신실한 인물 목록에는 그 사람들의 삶의 행동을 통해 자기의 믿음을 표현한 사람들이 들어 있습니다. 성경의 믿음은 단순한 기독교인들로 하여금 강제로 그들의 생각을 구부려 교회가 구축해놓은 사상의 감옥에 맞추게 하여 교회가 그들을 통제할 수 있게 하기 위해 가톨릭교회 한 곳의 어두운 지하에 모인 성직자들로 이루어진 어떤 기독교 위원회가 공식화한 일반원리가 아닙니다. 역사적으로, 개신교회가 가톨릭교회보다는 약간 더 낫기는 했지만, 훨씬 더 나은 것은 아니었습니다. 그들도 사람들이 그들의 교회와 맺은 관계, 주로 그들 교단의 교리에 대한 관계로 “믿음”이란 무엇이고 누가 “신실한” 것인지 정의했습니다. 개신교계에서 신실하다는 것은 교회에 다니고, 교회에 헌금을 하고, 각자의 교단의 교리와 가르침을 받아들이고 앵무새처럼 따라하는 것을 의미합니다. 제가 아브라함, 이삭, 야곱, 모세, 다윗, 심지어 신약성경의 사도들의 이야기를 읽을 때, 이 믿음의 영웅들의 믿음은 대부분의 개신교 교단에게는 쉽사리 신실하지 않고 반항적으로 여겨질 것이라고 생각합니다. 네, 여러분도 아시다시피, 아브라함의 이야기는 저에게 기탄없이 말하도록, 그리고 여러분 각 사람에게 이스라엘의 주 하나님과 예슈아를 의뢰하며, 아직도 21세기 우리에게 의미가 있는 주님의 명령을 현명하게 듣고 순종하라고 격려하도록 고무했습니다. 저는 여러분에게 신약성경을 쭉 훑어 내려가며 여러분에게 의미 있는 그런 계명들을 적거나 표시해 보고 예슈아의 명령과 사도들의 명령을 따르고 순종하는 것을 생각해 보라고 도전합니다.
코로나바이러스가 전 세계에 걸쳐 계속 맹위를 떨치고 있습니다. 유럽과 미국과 이스라엘은 2차 창궐 중이며 3월부터 7월까지 1차 창궐 때보다 더 치명적입니다.
많은 나라에서 엄중한 조치를 취하고 있습니다. 이스라엘에서는 국민에게 2차 폐쇄령이 내려졌는데요, 이것은 경제와 대부분의 사업체의 문을 닫게 했습니다.
식당, 이발소, 그 외 영세 서비스업이 모두 문을 닫았습니다. 그러나 하나님의 뜻이라면 다음 주에는 문을 열 것입니다. 학교와 보육원들도 엄중한 제한을 두고 이번 일요일에 문을 열 것입니다.
세계가 백신을 기다리고 있습니다. 전 세계적으로 코로나바이러스 백신 개발 중인 회사들이 많습니다. 모두가 큰 압박을 받으며 개발 중이며, 코로나바이러스라고 부르는 이 공포에 대한 해결책을 기도하며 기다리고 있습니다.
이스라엘에서는 랍비들도 무슬림권도 기독교 사제나 목사들도 코로나바이러스에 대해 각자의 공동체에 그다지 말을 많이 하지 않고 있습니다. 말을 하고 지침을 내놓는 사람들은 정부 관료들, 보건부 장관, 재무부 장관, 수상들입니다. 그들이 텔레비전에 나와 지침을 주는 이들입니다.
중동에서는 유대인도 아랍인도 각자의 생각이 있습니다. 역사가 입증했듯이, 하나님이나 사람이 준 모든 지침과 명령은 제안이나 권장사항으로 여겨질 뿐입니다.
법을 어긴 사람들에게 심한 벌금을 매기기는 하지만, 그것들은 사실 아무도 두렵게 하거나 순응하도록 가르치지는 못합니다. 중동 전역의 현지 사람들의 이기심과 자만심은 그저 허영에 찬 교만이 아닙니다. 그것은 순전히 리더십과 정부에 대한 깊은 불신에서 나오는 반항입니다.
이것은 정말 이 전염병을 거두시며 그 해결책을 위해 주님께 구할 기도 제목입니다. 교회와 회당들이 깊은 기도와 금식까지도 하도록 권한다면 주님께서 우리 마음을 보시고, 성경 역사에 그분께서 아주 많은 경우에 그렇게 하신 것처럼, 이 재앙을 거두실지도 모르겠습니다.
친애하는 형제님들, 목사도 아니고 랍비도 아니고 사제도 아닌 평신도인 여러분께 청합니다, 여러분과 저와 우리 친구들과 이웃들은 여러분의 영적 지도자를 기다리지 마십시오. 여러분과 여러분의 가족과 친구들이 무릎을 꿇고 고백과 회개하는 영적 태도를 가지고 전능하신 분께 자비와 은혜를 구하고, 창조주께 그분의 세상을 이 전염병으로부터 구해 살려주시도록 구하시기 바랍니다.
주님, 저희에게 종교는 너무 많으나 믿음은 너무 적다고 고백합니다. 저희에게 가짜는 너무 많으나 믿음은 충분하지가 않습니다. 저희에게 좋은 물건은 너무 많으나 좋은 행위는 충분하지가 않습니다. 저희는 주님께 자비를 구하며, 코로나라고 하는 이 전염병으로부터의 구원을 간구합니다.
저희는 예슈아께서 높이 들리시어 전 세계에서 영광을 받으시는 것을 보고 싶습니다. 저희는 예슈아께서 오셔서 우리가 다함께 그분의 발 아래 모세의 노래와 어린양의 노래로 송축하고 찬양하게 해주시기를 기도합니다. 기도하시고, 기도하시고, 기도하십시오!

저는 지난 주 예루살렘 기도 목록에 여러분이 개인적으로 모르는 사람들을 위해 기도하는 것과, 세계가 회복되고 코로나바이러스라고 불리는 이 끔직한 팬데믹이 끝나도록 기도하는 것은 좋은 일이라고 썼습니다. 코로나는 왕관이라는 뜻입니다. 저는 이 바이러스가 어느 왕의 머리의 왕관이 될지 모르겠습니다.
1. 전 세계를 위한 중보 기도를 계속해 주시고, 여러분 각자의 나라를 위한 기도에 집중해 주시되, 이스라엘도 잊지 마시기 바랍니다.
2. 다른 형제자매님들을 위해 기도하며 성령을 통해 메시아의 몸을 위해 중보하는 사람들에게는 하나님으로부터의 복이 있습니다.

우리 영적 지도자들이 우리를 회개로, 죄와 허물을 고백하는 데로 이끌고 지적하여, 주님께서 이 코로나바이러스를 이 땅에서 거두시고 우리가 주님을 기억하며 그분의 의와 진리의 길로 걸어가게 하도록 우리 모두 기도하며 격려합시다.

The Jerusalem Prayer List – October 29, 2020

This week’s reading is from Genesis 12:1–17:27. This reading is called in Hebrew “Lech Lecha”, translated by the New King James Version as “Get out of your country.” If I would translate this phrase, “Lech Lecha,” I would translate it as, “You get yourself together and move out to yourself.”
This Torah portion has some of the most informative material for understanding the Lord and for understanding the place of Abraham’s seed in the land of Canaan (the Middle East), and in the greater world. As you can see the purpose for which the Creator called Abraham was not only for Abraham’s sake and for Abraham’s seed’s sake. The reason why God chose Abraham and His seed is in order to bring a blessing, a reconciliation between all nations. The blessing is to restore the nations and to rebuild their relationship with and faith in the almighty creator of Heaven and Earth, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Included in this reading in chapter 15, is Abraham’s encounter with the Lord, where the Lord Himself takes a very serious oath to keep His promises to Abraham and His seed. The meaning of the dream that Abraham has in chapter 15, where the Lord cuts animals in half and walks through the animal halves as a flame of fire is that if I don’t keep my promises to you, Abraham, may I be cut in half and be burned. This kind of oath is known in ancient Mesopotamia and it is the strongest possible oath, calling a curse upon yourself if you don’t keep your word! The reason why the Creator gives this total assurance to Abraham is because Abraham, “…believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” – Genesis 15:6 [NKJV] The faith of Abraham in God’s promises is beyond reason. It is a faith that has moved Abraham and Sarah his wife and a camp of hundreds of people that followed Abraham because he converted them from idolatry to faith in one God. The one God who created the world, the one God that keeps His promises. Here is what the Lord said to Isaac about his father Abraham: “Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” – Genesis 26:3-5 [NKJV] For many Christians this text is a revelation. Having faith, my dear brothers and sisters, does not give a person carte blanche to disobey or to be disobedient. Obedience has always been important to those who exercise faith, trust, and loyalty in the Lord. Of course this is not only an Old Testament paradigm. The same paradigm is all over the New Testament, from the teaching of Yeshua the Messiah in what is called “The Sermon on the Mount” to the parable of the fool and the wise man who build their houses, the fool built his house on the sand. The wise man built his house on the rock. Yeshua says that the one who built his house on the rock is the person who hears and obeys. His house stands during the storm, the wind, the rain, and the flood. Here you have it from the apostolic letters: “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.” – 1 Corinthians 7:19 [NKJV] “…that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing.” – 1 Timothy 6:14 [NKJV] “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” – 1 John 2:3,4, 3:22 [NKJV] I could bring another dozen such texts from the New Testament. I don’t want to be misunderstood. Salvation without faith is not going to happen. Faith without obedience and observance of God’s commands is also not effective, because salvation is a process and not an ad-hoc occurrence. Of course everything has a beginning and the beginning of the process of salvation is faith, but after faith comes confession, and repentance, and baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2:28ff). Abraham is the symbol and father of the faithful, but we must not use Abraham as a justifier of disobedience to God and His commandments. Of course one of the most significant indications of obedience that Abraham fulfilled in my opinion, is in our reading for this Shabbat, the circumcision as reported in Genesis chapter 17. Just think about this my dear brothers: Okay, leaving Haran with his family and going down to the land of Canaan was a big move of both faith and obedience. Read please! “So Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. That very same day Abraham was circumcised, and his son Ishmael…” – Genesis 17:23–26 [NKJV] In my opinion, this act requires much more faith than just packing your bags and traveling to the land of Canaan. Abraham, a nonagenarian, is circumcised with a primitive knife at a time when iron had not yet appeared, only bronze is available. Also there is no anesthesia nor antibiotics, you just cut, because God commanded it and God promised… In most Christian circles, having faith is essentially simply an agreement with or acceptance of some theological principle. It is at best an acceptance of some semi-rational idea that is called “faith.” Most Christians have never experienced persecution for their faith, or have had to sacrifice something as precious as their relationship with their family. In the Bible faith means the kind of faith that Abraham had. Faith for Abraham and for all the faithful children of God in the Bible meant putting our total trust in the Lord and in His promises, leaving home and country and family if necessary if commanded so by God. All the examples of faith that we have in the Bible and the list of the faithful characters in the Bible that is in the letter to the Hebrews, chapter 11, includes people who expressed their faith through the deeds of their lives. Biblical faith is not a theorem formulated by some Christian committee of clergymen huddled in some dark basement of one of the Catholic Churches in order to force simple Christians to bend their ideas to fit the prison of the mind established by the church, so that the church can rule over them. Historically, Protestant churches have been a little better than the Catholic Churches, but not much better. They too defined what “faith” is and who are the “faithful” in the relationship of the people to their church and mainly to their denominational doctrines. Being faithful in the Protestant world means attending church, giving money to the church, and accepting and parroting the doctrines and teachings of your denomination. When I read the stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and even the New Testament apostles, the faith of these heroes of the faith would easily be considered as unfaithful and rebellious by most Protestant denominations. Well, as you can see, the story of Abraham has inspired me to speak out and encourage each and every one of you to put your trust in the lord God of Israel and in Yeshua and to be wise to hear and obey His commands as commands that are still relevant to us in the 21st Century. I challenge you to go through the New Testament, and to write down or mark with something those commandments that are relevant for you and consider following and obeying the commands of Yeshua and those of the apostles.
The coronavirus is continuing to rage throughout the whole world. Europe and the United States, and Israel, are going through a second wave of the virus, and it is deadlier than the first wave of March through July.
In many countries, draconian measures are being applied. In Israel the population was placed under a second closure that has shut down the economy and most businesses.
Restaurants, barbershops, and other small service businesses are all closed but God willing they will be opening next week. Schools and nurseries will also open with heavy restrictions this next Sunday.
The world is awaiting a vaccine. There are many companies around the world that are working on a vaccine for the coronavirus. Everyone is working under great pressure, and praying and waiting for a solution to this horror called coronavirus.
In Israel neither the rabbis or the Muslim clerics or the Christian priests or pastors are saying much to their communities about the coronavirus. The people who are speaking and issuing instructions are government officials, the minister of health, the minister of finance, the prime minister, they are the ones who appear on television and give instructions.
In the Middle East both Jews and Arabs have a mind of their own and as history has proven, all instructions and commands given by God or man, are considered only as suggestions or recommendations.
Even if they issue very steep financial fines to those who break the laws, they don’t really frighten anyone or instill conformance. The selfishness and arrogance of the local population throughout the Middle East is not just vain pride, it is simple rebellion coming from a deep mistrust of leadership and government.
This is truly a topic for prayer and for seeking the Lord for a solution and the lifting of this plague, and if churches and synagogues would encourage deep prayer and even fasting – the Lord might see our hearts and lift this plague as He did in so many cases in biblical history.
I call on you dear brothers, laypeople, not pastors not rabbis not priests, you and me, and our friends and neighbors, don’t wait for your spiritual leaders, you and your family and friends, get on your knees and with a spiritual attitude of confession and repentance, beg the Almighty for mercy and for grace and beg the Creator to deliver and spare His world from this plague.
We confess that we have too much religion and too little faith. We have too much fake and not enough faith. We have too much goods and not enough good deeds. We ask and beg you Lord for mercy and salvation from this plague called Corona.
We want to see Yeshua lifted up and honored throughout the world. We pray for Yeshua to come down and to allow us to praise and sing together at His feet, the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb. Pray, Pray, Pray!
I have two very important prayer requests:
1. A very dear and faithful and wonderful sister that has been a faithful member of our congregation and a servant of the Lord in Jerusalem for over 40 years, Ilana Hanhiyervi who is 95 years old, is in need of our prayers. Her mind is sharp and she has been healthy and strong until recently. She needs our prayers these days, a prayer for strength and divine grace for this dear sister.
2. For brother Philip Marc Lee. Philip is a young man with a family and he is sick with stage 4 cancer. Philip is a truth seeker and a faithful disciple and servant of the Lord. Please especially include these two new prayer requests in your prayers.
Don’t forget to continue praying for the rest of those on this long list.
Israel is still under closure with only limited mobility being allowed and most of the economy and business sector is closed down, at least until next Sunday night at midnight. The economy is devastated.
I wrote last week in the Jerusalem Prayer List that it is a good work to pray for people whom you don’t know personally and to pray for the world to recover and bring an end to this horrible pandemic called the coronavirus. Corona means crown and I am not sure on the head of which king this virus is a crown.
1. Please keep doing intercessory prayer for the whole world, concentrate on your country, but don’t forget Israel.
2. There is a blessing from God to those who pray for other brothers and sisters and intercede through the Holy Spirit for the body of the Messiah.
3. It might seem like a small thing for us to pray a few minutes for brothers and sisters around the world, but in the Kingdom and in the heavens attention is paid by the authorities of goodness to caring and sincere intercession and prayer that conforms and confirms that the body of the Messiah Yeshua is truly one body.
a. Pray for all the former and present people that are involved with Korean Israel Bible Instruction Ministry.
b. Pray for the former board members of KIBI and those who need to repent and restore their relationship and that they may receive power from heaven to do so.
c. Pray for those members and academics that are and were a part of the Israel Forum.
d. Pray for those who have prayed so faithfully for the salvation of Israel and for peace in Israel.
e. Pray for the spiritual and physical health of all those in Korea who are still praying for the body of the Messiah in Israel and specifically praying and supporting Netivyah. May they be blessed inspired and filled with faith, hope and love for the Lord and for Israel.
Let us all pray and encourage our spiritual leaders to lead and to point us toward repentance and to confession of our sins and weaknesses, so that the Lord will lift this coronavirus from off of the Earth and that we will always remember the Lord and seek to walk in His paths of righteousness and truth.
I appreciate the prayers for my health and my eye. I see so much better with my eye than I did before the surgery. Thank you all for your prayers for me.
Please continue to pray for me and for my wife Marcia. Marcia has very little energy these days and sleeps most of the day. She is in pain from the Rheumatoid Arthritis and also her eyes have cataracts and since she is diabetic it is too dangerous to perform surgery.

Danah our daughter, needs much prayer for her situation and so does our granddaughter Noaam. Please lift Danah and Noaam in your prayers. Please lift Barry our son and his family, Beth, and Joey our grandson who are also staying at home and working from home during this time. Marcia’s mother June is 91 years old and her health is failing. Please keep in your prayers a dear sister who attends our congregation in Jerusalem. Her name is Hadassah and she just had cancer surgery and is now at home recovering. Pray for Hadassah for a full recovery and remission from cancer in her body.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Brazil is one of the countries with a very high count of sick and dead people from the coronavirus.
We have brothers and sisters all around Brazil, and I ask you to just say a prayer for divine protection and wisdom to keep clear from this deadly plague. Pray for healing and strength for a 70 year old men by the name of Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. Also include in your prayers Caique de Oliveira Becker. These are people in Brazil that need the Lord’s special grace for healing. Please don’t forget to lift and pray for a young man Paulo and for the Amaral family in Brazil.

Pray for Rachael and Daniel, a brother and sister who need jobs and emotional healing.

Sister Yoko had a stroke and we pray that her recovery will be quick and full.

Our brother in Finland Erki Murto is gone. Erki passed from this world a few days ago. Please let us keep Sirpa, Erki’s widow in our prayer.
May the Lord comfort her and consul her in these hours of sorrow and grief. Our other brothers and sisters in Finland who need our prayers, Evelina, and Eva H., Patty, Andrea, Julia and Victor, and Aaron Tani, and Hillel and his wife.

I have just received a prayer request from a dear sister from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her father who is 70 years old and diabetic has contracted the COVID-19 virus. His name is Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias. He is in the hospital and his condition is very challenging. Please join us in lifting Paulo C. Pereira Braga Dias in your prayers.
Please see your prayer as casting a vote for healing before the Lord and His angels in heaven in favor of every brother and sister that you are praying for. Just a word of grace for all of us is a refreshing spirit. Take your prayers before the mercy seat of the Almighty to be heard in favor of those that you are lifting in prayer.
Please add to your prayers the family of Um Mahmud Abu-Eid and Jimmy their son. I believe that this is a good thing for us to pray for friends and acquaintances who are Muslims. It is an act of love and reconciliation to carry before the throne of mercy those dear people who are seeking peace and righteousness looking toward the Lord for mercy and healing.

By praying for people who are your brothers and sisters, and whom you do not know personally, you are exercising the right to be God’s ambassador in what is called “agape love.” “Agape love” is the highest form of love, a love that does not look for earthly rewards or give and take, but just does the service of intercession in the kingdom of God.
You will be blessed by the almighty God who gives each of His children good for the good we do and recompense for the bad we do. Your sincere prayers for people around the world do the following things for the Kingdom, the King, and for the body of the Messiah:
1. They unite you and the body in a major transcendent bond of prayer.
2. They demonstrate the oneness of the people of God.
3. Your prayer shows that there are people outside the realm of the physical world and personal interests who have a sincere bond and relationship that is heavenly and not earthly.
4. The Lord knows His children and gives credit and reward according to His promises.

Pray for Israel. We are going through terrible riots and violence in the streets of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv and other places around the country. These riots are motivated by the fact that much of the populace of Israel does not understand what the government is doing in relationship to the coronavirus pandemic.
Businesses are closing and bankruptcy is happening to old established companies and businesses and even our national airline is on the verge of bankruptcy. People do not have money to put food on their tables. The number of people in need of basic food is growing.
Netivyah has been feeding the poor of Jerusalem for more than 25 years and we have a highly appreciated humanitarian ministry that is working with the Jerusalem municipality. As the demands for food for people who never before needed such help grows, I pray that the Lord will inspire and motivate brothers and sisters and ministries who can help with this to go to the webpage: www.netivyah.org and do what they can to make it possible for us to double or more than double, the number of people and families that we serve.
Our prime minister’s case is still before the courts. I am not happy that this is happening in Israel, but I am praying that true justice and righteousness is exhibited in our court system. The truth must come out and I am not interested in a second prime minister of Israel going to jail. We have had a president in jail, a finance minister in jail, a minister of interior affairs in jail, and a member of the parliament in jail. Enough!

Anarchist elements have taken the center of Portland, OR, and turned it into chaos, and disorder. So, please pray for Portland, OR, and for our brothers and sisters in that city.
The coronavirus is threatening the economy of the world with a great recession and depression. Some of our major supporters have already lowered the amount of their support. They have done this not only toward Netivyah, but for all the ministries that they are supporting, and they are many. I would like to first ask you to pray about your part in supporting Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry.
Second, I would like for you who stand with us in prayer and financially to do your absolute best to stay on board with us and communicate. We realize that times will be hard for several years, but we also realize that God has chosen and blessed you for such a time as this.
Third please pray for a new project that we are starting in Israel in partnership with the Houses for Healing ministry from Abilene, Texas.
The aim is to provide hospitality for families of critically ill patients who are hospitalized in one of Jerusalem’s hospitals and who have no means to stay in hotels while their family members are in the hospitals.
This is a critical need especially in these days when there are hundreds of men and women who are in the Coronavirus ICU units for weeks and even months.
We need your prayer and your help to make this a meaningful and significant blessing both to the sick and to their families.
I wish all of you, who stand with Israel and who pray for Jerusalem, the best of the Lord’s blessings and the fulfillment of all His promises to His faithful children.
