하나님께서는 그분의 약속 지키심에 부지런하십니다
샤케드 - 쇼케아드

지난 몇 년 동안 여기 이스라엘에서는 각 정당이 정권을 잡으려 노력하는 가운데 정부가 여러 번 바뀌는 일을 겪었습니다. 2020년에 출현한 코로나바이러스-19는 패닉을 초래하여 지금까지 세 번의 폐쇄가 있었습니다. 연말로 접어들면서 백신이 처음으로 사용할 수 있게 되었지만, 많은 이들은 좋다고 말하는 한편으로, 또 그만큼 많은 이들은 싫다고 말합니다.

한편, 이 모든 격변과 혼란이 편만해지는 동안, 이스라엘은 아랍연맹 국가 중 4개국과 외교관계를 수립하는 협정 체결일을 정해야 했습니다.

앞에 일어난 모든 일은 우리에게 마지막 때에 대해 인식하게 해주며, 저로 하여금 예레미야 1장을 읽게 만들었는데, 이 장에서 하나님께서는 예레미야에게 기름 부어 그 당시 왕국들과 통치자들에 대해 예언하는 선지자로 세우십니다.

예레미야 1:11-12에서 우리는 이런 말씀을 읽습니다:

“{주}의 말씀이 또 내게 임하니라. 이르시되, 예레미야야 네가 무엇을 보느냐? 하시기에 내가 이르되 내가 아몬드(שקד 샤케드)나무 막대기를 보나이다, 하매 이에 {주}께서 내게 이르시되, 네가 잘 보았도다. 내가 그 일을 이루기 위해 내 말을 재촉하리라(שוקד 쇼케아드, 부지런히 일하다), 하시니라.” [킹제임스버전 흠정역]

샤케드(아몬드)와 쇼케아드(부지런히 일하다)는 같은 어근에서 왔습니다. 이 때문에 예레미야가 아몬드나무를 본 것입니다. 이 두 단어 사이에 연관이 있기 때문입니다. ‘쇼케아드’의 뜻은 ‘부지런하다’입니다. “내가 내 말을 이루기 위해 부지런하다.” 예레미야는 아몬드나무를 보고서, 하나님께서 말씀하신 것을 행하실 것임을 이해했습니다.

이것은 우리 믿는 자들이 이해해야 할 점입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 아무 것도 사멸하지 않습니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 말씀을 이루시기 위해 부지런하십니다.

예레미야 27장에서 우리는 하나님께서 이스라엘을 기다리고 있는 미래의 노예생활의 표징으로 거의 15년 동안 예레미야 어깨에 멍에를 두시는 것을 읽습니다. 예레미야는 그 지역의 왕들/리더십이 예루살렘으로 와서 연합하여 느부갓네살왕을 대적하는 때와 장소에 서 있었습니다. 예레미야는 그들에게 그들이 느부갓네살의 종이 될 것이라고 말했습니다. 그런 다음 그는 그들에게 그들이 회개하지 않으면 사라질 것이라고 경고했습니다.

게다가, 예레미야 27:6에 느부갓네살은 하나님의 종으로 언급됩니다. 축복의 도구로 선택된 모세 같은 사람들뿐만 아니라 하나님의 심판을 내리기 위해 사용된 사람들도 하나님의 종입니다.

그런데 거기에서 끝이 아닙니다. 예레미야 28장에서 우리는 또 다른 선지자 하나냐를 보는데요, 그는 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 가져가 부러뜨리고 2년 안에 느부갓네살의 나라가 멸망할 것이라고 예언합니다.

두 명의 선지자가 있는데, 한 명은 하나님으로부터 온 진리를 말하고, 또 다른 하나는 육신의 거짓말을 합니다. 하나냐가 한 일이 그것입니다. 예언을 하며 왕들과 백성의 마음을 안심시킵니다. 다른 말로 해서, 그들이 듣고 싶어 하는 다른 말을 했다는 것입니다. 너무도 자주 우리는 이것을 지금도 듣습니다. 안심시키는 말, 사람들이 듣고 싶어 하는 것. 그러나 하나님께서 그분의 종들, 그분의 지도자들, 그분께서 백성에게 말씀하시기 위해 부르신 자들에게 진짜 요구하시는 것은 무엇입니까?

지금부터 예슈아의 재림까지 우리는 바벨론 왕국이 일어나고 많은 나라가 그 술을 마시겠지만, 그 나라도 무너지고 많은 나라도 그 나라와 함께 무너지는 것을 볼 것입니다(계 18:2-3). 우리는 육신으로 행하는 거짓 선지자들을 조심해야 합니다. 그들은 우리를 우리 삶에 대한 하나님의 부르심에서 멀어지게 하기 위해 온 자들입니다.

우리 각 사람은 개인적으로 하나님의 말씀을 깊이 파고들어가 우리 영이 성령님의 주파수에 맞춰지도록 해야 합니다. 이렇게 해야 우리는 우리 안에 거하시는 성령님의 인도를 받아 예슈아의 재림까지 우리 앞에 놓인 시련을 통과해 나갈 수 있을 것입니다.

God Is Diligent To Keep His Word

In the last few years here in Israel, we have experienced many changes in the government with each political party trying to take control. The COVID19 virus which appeared in 2020 caused panic and so far has resulted in three lock-downs. Toward the end of the year the vaccine was first made available; while many said yes just as many are saying no.

Meanwhile, while all this upheaval and confusion reigns; Israel has to date signed agreements establishing diplomatic relations with four Arab League countries.

All of the above brings us to an awareness of the end times and leads me to read from Jeremiah chapter 1, where God anointed Jeremiah to be a prophet standing against kingdoms and rulers of his time.

In Jeremiah 1:11-12 we read as follows:

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond (שקד shaked) tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am (שוקד shokead) ready to perform My word.”

The words shaked (almond) and shokead are from the same root. This is the reason Jeremiah saw the almond tree; it is the connection between the two words. The definition of shokead is diligent; “for I am diligent to perform My word.” Jeremiah saw the almond tree and understood that God would do what He said He would do.

This is what we as believers need to understand, that none of God’s words will perish, He is diligent to perform them.

In Jeremiah 27 we read that God put a yoke on Jeremiah’s shoulders for almost fifteen years as a mark of the future of slavery awaiting the nation. Jeremiah stood at a time and place where the Kings / leadership of the region came to Jerusalem to join together in rebellion against King Nebuchadnezzar. Jeremiah told them that they would become slaves to Nebuchadnezzar. He then warned them that if they did not repent they would be lost.

To understand this we must go back in the Word to Deuteronomy 28, before the nation of Israel entered the land. The first 14 verses are blessings and the next 54 verses are curses. Within the curses are phases:

Phase 1 – the land will be cursed
Phase 2 – you will be slaves to your enemy in your land
Phase 3 – you will be slaves outside your land (in the diaspora).

When Jeremiah spoke to the Kings in Jeremiah 27, they were actually standing between phase two and three of the curses of Deuteronomy. Meaning they would be slaves in exile.

In addition, in Jeremiah 27:6 Nebuchadnezzar is referred to as God’s servant. God’s servants are not only those like Moses chosen to be instrumental in the blessings but also those used to bring forth God’s judgment.

But it doesn’t end there; in Jeremiah 28 we see another prophet Hananiah; taking the yoke off Jeremiah’s neck, breaking it and prophesying that within two years Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom would be destroyed.

We have two prophets, one speaking the truth from God and the other speaking lies of the flesh. That’s what Hananiah was doing, giving a prophecy that was comforting to the Kings and the people, in other words what they wanted to hear. All too often this is what we hear even now; words of comfort, what the people want to hear. However, what is God truly asking His servants, His leaders, those whom He has called; to speak to the people?

From now till Yeshua’s return we will see the kingdom of Babylon rise up and many will drink; but the kingdom will fall and many will fall with her. Rev. 18:2-3 We must be careful of the false prophets, operating in the flesh, which come to take us far from God’s calling on our lives.

Each one of us must personally dig deep into the Word of God so that our spirit will be tuned to the Spirit of God. In this way we might be guided by the Holy Spirit which dwells within us, through the trials which lie ahead of us until Yeshua’s return.
